2010 Year in Review of Sports and Pro Wrestling

As 2010 comes to a close, I'd like to recap the year in sports and pro wrestling. I want to start with pro wrestling. In TNA wrestling the biggest highlight was the return of Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair to pro wrestling. They have highlighted the success that TNA Wrestling has had this year. In the WWE, a lot has always happens but the thing that sticks out to me is Shawn Michaels final match at Wrestlemania 26. He retired from active competition and left behind a legacy that will never be duplicated.

America's team won the Super Bowl this year as the New Orleans brought back pride to their city with the Lombardi Trophy. Brett Favre retired and un-retired again. He had a horrible year and now has officially been physically knocked out of the game. The Detroit have had their first winning streak in three years which amazing in itself. Michael Vick has had a comeback year and a lot has been forgiven. Stay tuned for the Super Bowl in 2011.

In basketball, Kobe Bryant and Phil Jackson led the Lakers to another title against arch-rival Boston Celtics. However this was overshadowed by the "decision" made by Lebron James to turn his back on the city of Cleveland to play in Miami. There was a lot of backlash because of it and it was probably the biggest sports story of the year.

In Women's basketball UCONN set the mark for all time most wins a row which is huge. They will probably break 100 and make impossible to beat. Men's basketball has seen it's fair share of great things like Coach K at Duke trying to surpass Bob Knight's all time win record. What a great thing that would be if he did. I've always respected coach Coach K for bringing back USA Basketball to glory in the Olympics.

What a year in baseball it was as well. The Giants won the World Series but Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee were the talks of the game. Now both of them are on the same team. There were 6 no hitters thrown this year, two of them which were thrown by Halladay. The one perfect game that never happened was Armando Gallaraga who was screwed out of a perfect game by Jim Joyce. It was great to see it end in class and respect between both individuals.

In the UFC, new champions were crowned. Mauricio Rua, Frankie Edgar and Cain Velasquez all became champions. The WEC and UFC finally merged to become a brand new powerhouse that start on New Years Night. On the Strikeforce side of things, Fedor finally lost and hasn't fought since. No one knows what's next for his future. Chuck Liddell retired from active competition and will go down as one of the greatest fighters of all time.

In Golf, it was the first year ever that Tiger Wood did not win a tournament. Hopefully 2011 will be his comeback year. The man has had a tough last year and hopefully he will redeem himself.

Lastly, in the world of hockey the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup and brought some greatness back to the sports town of Chicago. However the Red Wings and Penguins in my opinion still have unfinished business and are the two best teams right now. The greatest game in hockey took place in the Olympics. It was Gold Medal game between the USA and Canada that saw Sid the kid score the game winning goal for Canada in overtime. The game brought hockey back to the mainstream and got peoples attention.

NFL Week 17 Preview

The final week of the NFL is upon us. It's been a great year and this week their are even some key match up's

(11-4) Chicago Bears at (9-6) Green Bay Packers
The Packers are still fighting for a playoff spot while the Bears are already. I look for the Bears to sit some of their starters or not play them the entire game. Aaron Rodgers is back and so are the Packers. I look for the Packers to win in be in the playoffs.

(5-10) Dallas Cowboys at(10-5) Philadelphia Eagles
The boys from Big D could be spoilers and prevent the Eagles from getting home-field advantage in their divisional game. However I think the Eagles will play their hearts out and win the game to get a bye the first week of the playoffs.

(7-8) St. Louis Rams at(6-9) Seattle Seahawks
This game determines everything for both teams. Whoever wins is in so I think the Rams, are going to ram Seattle right out of the playoff picture and end up in the playoffs with .500 record which I think is ridiculous. However I do think that greatest show on turf might see part 2 in a few years. Sam Bradford is the next great QB in the league. I look for him to do some wonderful things.

The other two notable games that are taking place are (8-7) Jacksonville Jaguars at
(5-10) Houston Texans and (6-9) Tennessee Titans at (9-6) Indianapolis Colts. If The Colts lose and Jacksonville wins, the Jaguars are in. So stay tuned this Sunday for some really good football.

NFL Week 16 Review

Can you believe it? The Lions have won three in a row with an impressive game over the Miami Dolphins. It's really great to see Detroit get the respect that they deserve. There were some really close game this week. Here is the close games that took place.

Yesterday the Pro Bowl Rosters were announced and as always we are going to see some great ones in the game this year. More Baseball Offseason News

All has been quiet lately on the baseball front ever since Cliff Lee signed with the Phillies but there have still been some notable signings that people need to be aware of so here they are.

-Oakland A's agreed to terms with RHP Rich Harden on a one-year contract.
-Florida Marlins agreed to terms with RHP Ricky Nolasco on a three-year contract.
-Milwaukee Brewers agreed to terms with RHP Sean Green and INF Craig Counsell on one-year contracts.
-Boston Red Sox agreed to terms with RHP Bobby Jenks on a two-year contract.
-Chicago White Sox agreed to terms with RHP Jesse Crain on a three-year contract.
-Cleveland Indians Agreed to terms with OF Austin Kearns on a one-year contract.
-Houston Astrso agreed to terms with UT Bill Hall on a one-year contract.
-San Diego Padres agreed to terms with INF Orlando Hudson on a two-year contract.

Has Donovan McNabb Been Disrespected?

Lately there has been a lot of brewing controversy in Washington between QB Donovan McNabb and Head Coach Mike Shanahan and son Kyle. McNabb has benched multiple times this season and Shanahan has made tons of excuses on why he benched one of the best QB's of this generation.

McNabb played for the Eagles for 10 years and led them to five NFC Championship Games (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2008), and one Super Bowl in 2005 (Super Bowl XXXI). Mike Shanahan is a great coach but I think he's dead wrong in this situation. He expects McNabb to be John Elway and they are two totally different people with two different styles. Shanahan came into a team that was struggling and needed time to get where they needed to go. He should have expected some growing pains along the way.

The one thing that still sticks out to me is the week the Redskins played the Lions. McNabb played the whole game and with two minutes left he was pulled for Rex Grossman. Subsequently, the Redskins lost the game and the problems have been going on ever since. There has been a lot of verbal bashing between both sides now and it doesn't like it's going to an end.

There is no doubt in my mind now that McNabb will not return to the Redskins next season. He will either retire or be on a team that absolutely sucks. In my opinion, the man deserves a Super Bowl ring and that's why it sucks for him that Philly got rid of him. Only time will tell to see if this situation gets resolved. Stay tuned for more folks.

Open Letter to the Carolina Panthers

To the Carolina Panthers:

Last night after watching the embarrassing lost to the Steelers, I have come to conclusion on one thing. You either need to start spending money or sell the team to someone who will. I've been a die-hard fan since it first started in 1995 and this has to be one of the worst years I've ever seen.

It's like you have one or two great years and then you go back to having four to five bad years. You need to start being more consistent like the Steelers, Patriots, Colts, Ravens, etc. You get the point. Along the way you have had some great talent come through like Kerry Collins, John Kasay, Sam Mills, Muhsin Muhammad, Kris Jenkins and Steve Smith. There are some many other names I could mention but those are some of the ones come to mind.

The two biggest mistakes you have made in recent years, is letting Julius Peppers get away and keeping Jake Delhomme around a lot longer then he ever should have been. The defense is still decent right now but the offense is just terrible. There is no doubt that you will have the first overall pick in the NFL Draft next year. The first thing you need to do is get a new Quarterback, then a couple of wide receivers and then an offensive line. If you have any picks left then go after a couple of defensive players. I've read a few Mock Drafts and here are what the experts are saying on who the should Panthers should possibly get:

I am pleading with Owner Jerry Richardson, President Danny Morrison, and General manager Marty Hurney to make some drastic changes. Please fire John Fox and get a better coach. Please go out and get some free agents next year. There are a lot of great free agents in each position. I am going to name one in each position.

Thoughts on TNA Impact and Reaction 12/24/2010

First off I would like to apologize for not covering the last two weeks worth of Impact. The holiday season has kept me busy with so much. Anyways, last night was an awesome Impact again. I really like the concussion storyline that's gone on the last few months. It's really educated people on how bad concussions can be. The opening segment was really intense between Matt Morgan, Ric Flair, Mick Foley and Eric Bischoff. I loved what Ric Flair said when he said, "If I die, its going to be in the ring or on top of a wild woman. I prefer the ring but I'll take either one." That was classic Flair.

The only thing that really bothers me about TNA is the whole Jeff Jarrett-MMA storyline. I just don't get it. If he's really an MMA expert then great. If not then dump the storyline. I look forward to he and Kurt Angle going at it again and having the storyline end.

The best match of the night was most definitely AJ Styles vs. Douglas Williams for the TV title. The match went 30 minutes and was probably one of the best matches on TV this year. It went to a time-limit draw and they will face off again at Genesis.

Angelina Love and Winter became new TNA Knockout Tag Team Champions. They defeated Madison Rayne and Tara. Velvet Sky was suppose to be in the match but Sarita took her out backstage. So what's next for The Beautiful People and the tag titles?

The Main Event was Beer Money, Abyss and Jeff Hardy taking on the Machine Guns, Matt Morgan, and RVD. It was a chaotic 8-man tag that saw the Machine Guns team winning.

It was another great TNA Impact. TNA is really starting to run all cylinders and I look forward to see what they do in 2011.

Thoughts on WWE Tribute to the Troops and More

Last night was the annual WWE Tribute to the Troops. This year they were in Ft. Hood, Texas. On Saturday NBC aired the one hour version last night but last night USA aired the full two hour version of the special. All I got to say is what an incredible show with some great matches. Here the results of the show.

They also had performances by Diddy-Dirty Money, Trace Adkins, and Cedric the Entertainer. They also aired videos from celebrities, President Bush and President Obama. This is one of main reason I still continue the WWE despite my unsatisfactory with what's on TV these days.

I will admit the matches have been getting better. I've really enjoyed the Morrison-Sheamus feud. I also enjoy the interaction between Kozlov and Santino. That's classic WWE comedy stuff. WWE needs to push the edge a little bit more and bring back the blood, the chair shots and unpredictability to TV.

WWE is starting to push their young talent in Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, Kofi Kingston, CM Punk, Jack Swagger, and John Morrison. These guys are the future and we need to see more of them. I hope 2011 will be a turn around year for WWE. They got the talent to do it so stay tuned for more.

NFL Week 16 Preview

It's getting down to the end of the season and there are some very important games this week. So here are my predictions for the week.

(10-4) New York Jets at (10-4) Chicago Bears
This is definitely a must win for the Jets. The Bears have already clinched a playoff spot so what is the point of playing your starters and taking the chance of injury two weeks before the playoffs. Jets win hands down.

(9-5) New York Giants at (8-6) Green Bay Packers
Both teams are fighting for a Wild card spot at this point so I am going to put it to you this way. If Aaron Rodgers plays, I am giving the game to the Packers. If he does not play the Giants defense will run all over the Packers offense. I am undecided until Sunday to find out if Rodgers is playing

(8-6) Indianapolis Colts at(7-7) Oakland Raiders
Colts are now in the driver seat and have a playoff spot for now. The Raiders are pretty much out of it but could play the spoiler role and help the Jaguars get back in the playoff picture. I think the Raiders are looking for respect and I believe on Sunday they will get it. Raiders win in a close one.

(10-4) New Orleans Saints at (12-2) Atlanta Falcons
I am so torn about this game. Everyone knows one of my least favorite teams is New Orleans and I still do think they are overrated and have had somewhat of an easy schedule. I am just going to say it, and that is the Falcons hands down. They are unstoppable right now. Even when they play bad, they still find a way to win. the ATL is rolling into the playoffs with home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

NFL Week 15 Review

A lot to get from this past week in football. A lot of news, excitement and stories. Let's begin with the playoff spoiling Detroit Lions. In week 14, they pretty much killed off all of Green Bay's chances at a playoff spot by beating them and taking out Aaron Rodgers. Then this week they broke their 26 game road losing streak by beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

There were some mighty close and good games this week. The Jets-Steelers, Cowboys-Skins, Eagles-Giants, and Packer-Patriots. The way the Eagles-Giants game ended was just crazy. The punter for the Giants made the worst mistake of his career. He punted to Desean Jackson with like 10 seconds left and Jackson ran back for a touchdown to win the game and knock the Giants out of playoff contention. Speaking of running back for touchdowns, Devin Hester ran back a punt return for a touchdown. He broke the all time record for combined punt and kick returns for touchdowns. Hester has become a legend in his own right.

During that same between the Bears and Vikings Brett Favre suffered a concussion and thus probably ending his career. He's writing checks his body can't cash. He's a legend, a great player but his time is over. I really hope he retires for good.

There are a few teams left in the hunt from both conferences and all I got to say is it's going to be close. Now it's time to get my predictions for week 16.

Why I love the New York Jets

I've been asked a lot this year the question of, Why does a guy from a small town in Michigan love the New York Jets? One of the big reasons I started following the Jets is because of Mark Sanchez. I started following Sanchez when he played for USC. I thought he was a good Quarterback and who had the potential to be great. Last year, I began to love them more when they got one of my favorite Wide-Receivers, Braylon Edwards who play for U of M.

This year they picked up Jason Taylor, Santonio Holmes and L.T. I absolutely loved that because everyone else thought they were finished and had nothing to left to give. I always enjoyed Taylor and Tomlinson when they played for their respective teams. When all of these guys got together on the same team I absolutely loved it and they definitely became the team I wanted to follow. I also love the trash talk, the swagger and confidence they posses. I absolutely love Rex Ryan as their coach. He tells it how he sees and doesn't hold back on what he feels.

A lot of people ask me, do I still love the Carolina Panthers? The answer is hell yes I do. They are the reason I even started watching football. I remember the days of Kerry Collins, Tim Biakabutuka, Wesley Walls and my all time favorite player Kevin Greene. A lot of people thought I would become a Green Bay fan when Greene became the linebackers coach there but I am only rooting for two teams.

Now the other question is who would I root for if Carolina and New York played each other? The question is neither one. I love both teams and I am glad one is in the NFC and the other is in AFC. Maybe someday they will play each other in the Super Bowl. That would be the dream game for me if it ever happened. All I got to say is J-E-T-S, Jets! Jets! Jets!

Even More Baseball Offseason News

As well all know Cliff Lee signed with the Phillies earlier this week but their have also been some other significant deals that have gone down as well. Here just some of the signings that have happened.

-Colorado Rockies agreed to terms with INF Ty Wigginton on a two-year contract.
-New York Yankees agreed to terms with C Russell Martin on a one-year contract.
-Los Angeles Dodgers agreed to terms with RHP Matt Guerrier on a three-year contract.
-Baltimore Orioles agreed to terms with RHP Jeremy Accardo on a one-year contract.
-Chicago Cubs agreed to terms with RHP Kerry Wood on a one-year contract.
-Detroit Tigers agreed to terms with OF Magglio Ordonez on a one-year contract.
-Arizona Diamondbacks agreed to terms with C Henry Blanco and OF Xavier Nady on one-year contracts.

The big news from this morning is that the Kansas City Royals have traded Zack Greinke to the Brewers for a lot of prospects. They Royals also sent Yuniesky Betancourt as well. This could very easily put the Brewers in the hunt for next year. They just need add some more offense and maybe another starting pitcher and they will be good. Orlando Magic Revamp Team

Yesterday the Orlando Magic completely revamped their team with two trades. I was completely shocked that they did this. This was the news of the day yesterday and it pretty much read like this:

They traded Rashard Lewis to Washington for Gilbert Arenas and Vince Carter, Mickael Pietrus and C Marcin Gortat to Phoenix for Hedo Turkoglu, Jason Richardson and Earl Clark. I can't believe they got rid of Vince Carter and Rashard Lewis. Jason Richardson and Hedo Turkoglu are good additions but I am not sure about the Gilbert Arenas thing. He still has a lot of baggage and isn't exactly the healthiest person right now.

I think this will end up being good for Orlando and I really hope this would get them where they need to be against teams like Miami and Boston. I cannot wait for Christmas day now when Orlando plays Boston. I am excited and Orlando should be excited as well. Stay tuned to see how it all develops.

Anthony Pettis: Kick Heard Around the World

On Thursday night, WEC had it's final event ever and it ended with a bang. Anthony Pettis challenged Ben Henderson for the WEC Lightweight title and won by unanimous decision to become the new and final WEC Lightweight Champion. However the fact he won the title wasn't the story. He did what people call "The Showtime Kick" in his fight and shocked and awed the MMA world with it. I've never seen anything like it so here is the video of this amazing kick.



Pettis will now fight the winner of Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard later in 2011. Pettis also earned Fight of the Night Honors with Henderson for their fight. Other fight that took place include:

-Lightweight bout: Bart Palaszewski vs. Kamal Shalorus
Shalorus defeated Palaszewski by split decision (30-27, 28-29, 29-28).

-Lightweight bout: Donald Cerrone vs. Chris Horodecki
Cerrone defeated Horodecki by submission (triangle choke) at 2:43 of round 2.

-Bantamweight Championship bout: Dominick Cruz (c) vs. Scott Jorgensen
Cruz defeated Jorgensen by unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-45) to retain the WEC Bantamweight Championship and become the first UFC Bantamweight Champion.

It was a good night of fighting and a great way to end the WEC before it's transition into the UFC. I cannot wait to see Anthony Pettis fight again.

NBA Games on Christmas Day

This year on Christmas day, the NBA will be featuring some great games on television. It's kind of like the NFL on Thanksgiving, it's a tradition. Here are the five games that the NBA is giving us on Christmas day.

I am really looking forward to the Heat-Lakers game. A lot of people think this will be the NBA Finals this year but you never know. The Celtics-Magic game will be good as well. The one game that looks really intriguing is the Bulls-Knicks game. I believe that rivalry will be renewed on Christmas day. Both teams are playing great basketball and they are competitive in all their games. NBA on Christmas Day is going to be fun to watch. If I don't post again, have a Merry Christmas.

NFL Week 15 Preview

This week there a lot of big games that could determine who makes the playoffs and who doesn't. It could also decide who has home field advantage throughout the playoffs. So lets get down to it. Here my four games for the week.

(8-5) Jacksonville Jaguars at (7-6) Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis has struggled at times and then other times have shown signs of greatness. Jacksonville has been winning some really exciting games by close margins. I believe Jacksonville has the momentum and has the confidence that they can win any game by a close margin or a large margin. I believe the Jaguars win and put the Colts one more step behind of not making the playoffs

(10-3) New Orleans Saints at (9-4) Baltimore Ravens
This game is a test for both teams. It will determine if the Saints offense really has holes and if the Baltimore is for real. I believe that the holes of the New Orleans offense will be exposed by the Ravens defense. The Ravens will make a push for home field advantage and the Saints will take a step back.

(9-4) Philadelphia Eagles at (9-4) New York Giants
The Giants and Eagles are both pushing for a playoff spot. I believe that the Eagles will win this game along with the division. The Giants will be fighting for a wild card spot the last two weeks.

(9-4) New York Jets at (10-3) Pittsburgh Steelers
This game as you know has a lot of importance me and because I favor the Jets, I am going with the Jets. I have some reasons for that though. They have lost two in a row so you know they will be fired up. To be perfectly honest, I am not sure how much more Big Ben can take. He's been taken a beating these last few weeks. I think Sanchez is going to get his head out of his butt and play like the Quarterback he did the first half of the season. If the Jets lose this game, they might be on the outside looking in. This is why I think they will not lose.

Cliff Lee Signs with the Phillies

I could not believe it when I saw it on ESPN this morning. Cliff Lee has signed with the Philadelphia Phillies. He has agreed to to a five-year, $120 million contract with the Phillies. The Rangers and Yankees offered him more money but sources say that he and his wife really loved it in Philadelphia when he was there the short time he was. The Phillies have put themselves right back in the World Series hunt again with this signing. Look at their rotation now, it includes:

Roy Halladay
Cliff Lee
Cole Hamels
Roy Oswalt
Joe Blanton

When you have Joe Blanton as your fifth starter, you know you have a great rotation. They also added Jose Contreras who is now in the bullpen. The only thing they have to do now is get a good right fielder and they will be unstoppable. I am just shocked that the Phillies got him again. The Rangers and Yankees have to absolutely be beside themselves right now. This definitely the biggest signing this winter. Stay tuned for more because this changes everything that the American League teams are going to do. I am just going to end with saying, WOW!!!

NFL Week 14 Review

This has been week full of surprises, controversy, and great moments. Lets start with the Lions defeating Packers because that's huge. The Lions have played like a good team all year and they are finally starting to get noticed. Speaking of getting noticed, how about the Jets strength and conditioning coach tripping up a Miami Dolphins player during their game. He has suspended without pay for the rest of the year.

As well all know Brett Favre's starting streak game came to an end last. That wasn't the thing that ended in Minnesota. The Metrodome could have ended itself for the season with the roof collapsing due to the record fall of snow. The Vikings-Giants game was moved to Ford Field and fans in Detroit were treated to a free football game. That's the most excitement Detroit sports fans have had in a while.

Speaking of excitement how about some of the games this week. Here are just some of the close games this week:

They are the premier team in the NFL right now along with the Atlanta Falcons. Both teams are definitely in the playoffs. Speaking of the playoffs. Brett Favre's Streak Ends at 297

Tonight is a sad night for anyone who has ever been a Brett Favre fan. He will sit out tonight's game against the Giants and end his streak of games started at 297. He made his first start on September 20, 1992 for the Green Bay Packers and he never looked back. In those starts he had Pass 6,295 completions for 507 TD and 334 INT. He also threw for 71,775 yards.

Favre's career has not gone without controversy. He left the Packers to play for the Jets after the Packers refused to bring him back when he announced his retirement. He played one season for the Jets and then went to Minnesota where he has been since the 2009 season. He also has allegations of inappropriate contact with a former Jets employee.

This is all irrelevant because the man has had a great career. His list of accomplishments include:

-3 time AP NFL MVP (1995–1997)
-5 time NFC Player of the Year (1995, 1996, 1997, 2002, 2007)
-2 time NFC Champion (1996, 1997)

The biggest one for me though is the 507 career passing touchdowns. If last week's games was Favre's last then I say so be it. He has had an amazing career and he deserves all the accolades in the world. He has a legacy that will never be matched. Congratulations to Brett Favre on a wonderful streak and career.

The Brock Lesnar-WWE Rumors Continue

For weeks now various wrestling news websites who claim to be professional have claimed that Brock Lesnar will be appearing at Wrestlemania 27 in the spring. If these so called "professionals" would stop being internet marks and catering to the internet fans they would realize that Brock Lesnar will never return to the WWE as long as he is under UFC contract.

Not to long ago when Lesnar lost his UFC Heavyweight title, Mark Calloway who is known worldwide as The Undertaker had a brief stare down with Lesnar. The rumors began to circulate. However since then Calloway called Dana White and apologized for stirring up something that was never meant to be stirred up.

Two weeks ago when WWE had it's King of the Ring, they featured Brock Lesnar as one of the former winners of the tournament. Again, the rumors started circulating that Lesnar would be appearing in WWE once again. I can assure all of you wrestling and MMA fans that Brock Lesnar will not be in WWE anytime soon. He's under contract with the UFC and unless Vince McMahon can pull something out of his rear-end you will never see Lesnar on WWE TV in person, only video clips.

So for you internet wrestling marks, who call yourselves professionals please check your sources before you report the news. Brock Lesnar is an MMA fighter not a sports entertainer or pro wrestler. By the way, is still the next big thing and can still bring the pain.

Cam Newton Wins Heisman Trophy

Last night saw a young man rise from adversity to become the 2010 Heisman Trophy winner. Cam Newton faced a lot of controversy this year because of his father and his past however that did not stop him from leading Auburn to the National Championship game against Oregon on January 10th. He also won the Walter Camp Award, Maxwell Award and the Davey O'Brien Award. If anyone doubts what Cam Newton has done this season look at this numbers.

He has 20 rushing touchdowns along with 1409 rushing yards. He also has 28 passing touchdowns with 2589 passing yards. That's a lot of offense for one man. A lot of people talked about how good Denard Robinson was for Michigan but the difference is, is that Cam Newton had a team to back him up. He will definitely be in the NFL and could possibly be the next Michael Vick (without the legal issues).

Now all that's left for Cam Newton to do is bring a National Championship to Auburn University. The game takes place on January 10th and they will face the Oregon Ducks. What a moment it will be if Auburn wins the National Championship. Congratulations to Cam Newton and all the other players who won awards

GSP Reigns Supreme at UFC 124 and More

If there was every a great story headed into a fight it would have been last night. Georges St-Pierre fought in his hometown of Montrael in Canada. His opponent was Josh Koscheck. Well Koscheck couldn't back up all the talk that he had before the fight. GSP dominated him and embarrassed him in my opinion. St-Pierre defeated Koscheck by unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-45) to retain the UFC Welterweight Championship. The fight also won Fight of the Night honors. Other fights on the card included:

-Welterweight bout: Thiago Alves vs. John Howard
Alves defeated Howard by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

-Lightweight bout: Joe Stevenson vs. Mac Danzig
Danzig defeated Stevenson by KO (punch) at 1:54 of round 1.

-Lightweight bout: Jim Miller vs. Charles Oliveira
Miller defeated Oliveira by submission (kneebar) at 1:59 of round 1.

More Baseball Offseason News

Well it seems a lot went down this week at the Winter Meetings of Major League Baseball. A lot of big time players were signed and it made for an interesting week. Here are just some of the deals that went down this week.

-Boston Red Sox agreed to terms with OF Carl Crawford on a seven-year contract. Also acquired 1B Adrian Gonzalez from San Diego for OF Reymond Fuentes, RHP Casey Kelly, 1B Anthony Rizzo and a player to be named.
-Baltimore Orioles acquired SS J.J. Hardy and INF Brendan Harris from Minnesota for RHP Jim Hoey, RHP Brett Jacobson and cash considerations.
-Chicago Cubs agreed to terms with 1B Carlos Pena on a one-year contract.
-Chicago White Sox agreed to terms with 1B Paul Konerko on a three-year contract.
-Kansas City Royals agreed to terms with OF Jeff Francoeur on a one-year contract.
-Arizona Diamondbacks agreed to terms with RHP J.J. Putz on a two-year contract.
-New York Yankees agreed to terms with SS Derek Jeter on a three-year contract.

Those are some of the big deals that went down this week. The one name that still has not signed is Cliff Lee. He is still torn between New York and Texas. This is one of biggest stories of the year. No one really has any idea what he will do. If you ask my opinion, I would say re-sign with Texas. They are the ones who went to the World Series last year. Also you have to realize when you play in New York, you're always under scrutiny if don't play well. My message to Cliff Lee, stay a Texas Ranger. You're a better fit down there.

Thoughts on TNA Impact and Reaction 12/10/2010

Last night was another crazy night of Impact but this week I was really impressed with one thing. That one thing was the fact that a Knockout's match was the main event delivered. Tara and Mickie James have had this long standing feud that dates back to the WWE days and TNA has turned into something special. Last night the two women fought in a steel cage and had a war. Mickie James won the match with a Lou Thez press from the top of steel cage. I was definitely impressed with both women.

The night started off with Eric Bischoff lecturing Immortal about how they need to win all the titles so they can get the power back they once had. Rhino came and get tossed out by Fortune after Bischoff denied him a contract extension.

The Motor City Machine Guns fought Gunner and Murphy until Beer Money interfered. I see the two best tag teams in wrestling right now will be feuding again which is good because tag team is needed in pro wrestling.

The TNA Knockout Tag Titles were vacated and thus they are having a four team tournament. In the first match that happened this week The Beautiful People defeated Daffney and Sarita. Another match is scheduled for next week.

The main story of the night was Mr. Anderson returning and being told he must compete against Matt Morgan or otherwise he will be fired. A lot is building up for 2011 and it's first PPV of the year Genesis. It's hard to believe its almost been year ago since Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, RVD, and others arrived on the scene. I see a lot of big things from TNA this coming year. Keep staying tuned because you never know who is going to arrive on the scene.

Thoughts on Lee Corso's Speech at College Football Awards

Last night I watched the College Football awards, and ESPN analyst Lee Corso was honored for his contributions to College Football. He's been a commentator and analyst for over 20 hours. He is very entertaining and never holds back on his opinion. I like to think of him as the Dick Vitale of College Football. He's got humor, insight and class. It was a very emotional night for Lee Corso, his family and friends. Congratulations coach, for all of your hard work. You've earned it.

Lebron James vs. Trent Dilfer...Who's Next?

So turning your back on your team and giving us a one hour show about it isn't enough attention. Now Lebron is attacking ESPN analysts. Trent Dilfer was talking about how bad Peyton Manning's performances as of late and didn't offer up any complements to how he was playing. Well Lebron James took offense it and posted this on his twitter:

"Watching SC and Trent Dilfer is talking bad on how Peyton Manning is playing as of late! In his wildest dream could never ever do the things Peyton does on the field. Good or bad! People get on TV and think they can say whatever they want! And it's always former players! Crazy!!"

Hey Lebron last I checked you don't play football, so what makes you an expert. Also last I checked Trent Dilfer has won a Super Bowl. How many championships have you won? Oh, that's right you haven't won any. Funny how that works. This is yet another thing that bothers me about Lebron James. He needs to focus on playing the game of basketball and keep his mouth shut.

All I am wondering now is who is next on the Lebron James bashing list. This guy has got one hell of an ego and I think he's pathetic. Stay tuned for more on the Lebron James school of sports journalism. He knows it all....not!!!

Tyson, Stallone and Chavez named to Boxing Hall of Fame

Yesterday it was announced that three icons in the sport of boxing will be inducted into their Hall of Fame. Those three would Mike Tyson, Sylvester Stallone, and Julio Cesar Chavez. There are others to be inducted but these are the three headliners. So lets start with "the baddest man on the planet," Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson made his professional debut in 1985. He won his first 37 fights and defeated James Smith, Trevor Berbick, Tony Tucker, and Michael Spinks for the different Heavyweight titles he won. His overall record was 50-6. He is well known for biting Holyfield in the ear and having a lot of legal problems. However Mike Tyson has recently cleaned up his life and has become a better person. He's appeared in various movies and has been involved with WWE on a couple of occasions. Whether you love him or hate him, he brought media attention to boxing whether it was good or bad. He has a legacy that will never duplicated.

Another man who gave a lot to boxing would be Sylvester Stallone. He was and always will be Rocky Balboa to boxing fans around the world. He came out with six Rocky movies that spanned from 1976 to 2006. He also appeared along Sugar Ray Leonard in the TV show The Contender. The show was a reality TV show that had up and coming boxers face off in an elimination-style competition. Stallone has been a lifelong boxing fan and has given so much to the sport. He had great fights in movies with Apollo Creed, Thunder Lips, Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago, and Mason Dixon. For those of you who don't know the only real life boxer that had a major role in a Rocky movie was Antonio Tarver who played Mason Dixon in the 6th Rocky movie. Stallone has a great boxing legacy without ever even fighting once.

Julio Cesar Chavez on the other hand had a lot of fights and is one of the greatest fighters ever. He has defeated so many people including Roger Mayweather, Mario Martinez, Edwin Rosario, and Meldrick Taylor. He held the WBC Super Featherweight Championship, WBA Lightweight Championship, WBC Lightweight Championship, The Ring Lightweight Championship, WBC Super Lightweight Championship, IBF Light Welterweight Championship, and the WBC Super Lightweight Championship. Hie career spanned over 25 years and it ended with a record of 107-6 with 2 draws. He was the constant fighter and has the fights to back it up. He also has a legacy that will never be duplicated.

All three of these men have earned their way into the Hall. Other inductees include Junior Welterweight champion Kostya Tszyu, trainer Ignacio “Nacho” Beristain (Mexico), and referee Joe Cortez. Posthumous honorees include Bantamweight Memphis Pal Moore, Light Heavyweight Champion Jack Root, Dave Shade, promoter A.F. Bettinson, broadcaster Harry Carpenter and John Gully.

Congratulations to all of the honorees. You all have legacies that deserve a place in the Hall of Fame.

NFL Week 14 Preview

Looking at all the games this week it is so hard to pick four to predict. The match-ups are really not the difficult. I will do my best to give you four worth games to think about.

(6-6) Indianapolis Colts at (5-7) Tennessee Titans
This game is very important for both teams in different ways. Jeff Fisher is under a lot of pressure right now and the Colts are trying to make the playoffs. If the Colts win they still have a shot at the playoffs. If the Titans win Jeff Fisher can relax a little bit. I do think however the Colts will win. Peyton Manning will not play like he did again this past week. I just don't see him doing it. He is going to be in vengeance mode for what happened against the Cowboys.

(6-6) St. Louis Rams at(9-3) New Orleans Saints
Do not underestimate St. Louis. They will probably end up representing the NFC West in the playoffs. I am actually going to call an upset and say the Rams will beat the Saints this week. I think the Rams could easily sneak into the NFC Championship game. Wouldn't that be something? I don't think it will happen though. They have a great team for the future and it will show this week.

(10-2) New England Patriots at (9-3) Chicago Bears
Well the Patriots beat up on a good Jets team, so what makes me think they won't do it to the Bears? Patriots will win hands down this week. In fact they will probably beat the Bears worst then they did the Jets. Brady and company are on fire and they have come out of nowhere this year. This could be a sign of things to come.

(8-4) Kansas City Chiefs at(6-6) San Diego Chargers
This is a very important game for both teams. It could determine a lot in the playoffs. If Kansas City wins then they secure themselves a playoff spot. If San Diego wins then their playoff hopes are still alive. In the end, the Chargers will fall short and Kansas City will keep marching on.

NFL Week 13 Review

Well if you know you me, you're probably laughing at the fact that the New York Jets got clobbered and embarrassed. I for one was not laughing. However what made me laugh was the Colts losing to the Cowboys and Big Ben getting his nose broken. The four teams I cannot stand are the Steelers, Colts, Giants and Patriots.

There were a lot of close games this week but at the end of the week teams like Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Kansas City still remain at the top of the division. St. Louis is tied in the NFC West with Seattle but I think when it's said and done the Rams will be in the playoffs at 9-7. They are good, young team and will be around for awhile.

Here is the current playoff picture after this week. There is still four weeks to be played but here is the scenario if the season ended today.

A Night for a Fight

Last night both the UFC and Strikeforce ran last night so it was a great night for MMA fans. Lets begin with the UFC, which had the Ultimate Fighter Finale. My favorite fight on the UFC card was the Middleweight bout between Demian Maia and Kendall Grove. I enjoyed the fight because it went all three rounds and it also helped that Maia defeated Grove by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28). And in the Main Event Jonathan Brookins fought Michael Johnson. Brookins was the best fighter in the house this season and it showed in the finale. He looked really impressive in his fight. The end result ended up being Brookins defeating Johnson by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-27) to become the Season 12 Lightweight winner of The Ultimate Fighter.

That was the UFC and I hate to say it but Strikeforce had a better card last night. Here are the results of the card:

-Light Heavyweight bout: Benji Radach vs. Ovince St. Preux
St. Preux defeated Radach by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-26, 30-25).

-Heavyweight bout: Antonio Silva vs Mike Kyle
Silva defeated Kyle by TKO (punches) at 2:49 of round 2.

-Middleweight bout: Robbie Lawler vs. Matt Lindland
Lawler defeated Lindland by KO (punches) at 0:50 of round 1.

-Welterweight bout: Paul Daley vs. Scott Smith
Daley defeated Smith by KO (punch) at 2:09 of round 1.

-Light Heavyweight bout: Dan Henderson vs. Renato Sobral
Henderson defeated Sobral by KO (Punches) at 1:53 of round 1

I was impressed with Strikeforce last night, more then I usually would be. The next event they have coming up is in January and only one bout is in the works and that would be Nick Diaz vs. Jason Miller. There is some bad blood between those two and it should make for a good fight.

The UFC has an event next week and the headliner is the Welterweight Championship bout between Georges St-Pierre (c) and Josh Koscheck. This is another one that's been brewing for awhile. So stay tuned folks because it could get very interesting in the MMA world this next year.

Baseball Offseason News

A lot of baseball news happening in the off season which is going to shape the season for next year. Derek Jeter is still in negotiations with the Yankees. I think I read the headline some where on ESPN but it said he needed realize he is 36, not 26 and be happy with the money he was offered. The Yanks offered him a contract for 3 years, 45 million dollars and he turned it down. I am not sure if any other team would even come close to matching that. However he's not the only one the Yankees are trying to get. They are also trying to get Cliff Lee but Texas is making some strong offers to keep him. Other signings include:

-White Sox: agreed to terms with 1B Adam Dunn on a four-year contract and with C A.J. Pierzynski on a two-year contract.
-Rockies: agreed to terms with SS Troy Tulowitzki on a 10-year contract.
-Dodgers: agreed to terms with INF Juan Uribe on a three-year contract. Also agreed to terms with RHP Jon Garland on a one-year contract.
-Giants: agreed to terms with SS Miguel Tejada and INF Mike Fontenot to one-year contracts.
-Tigers: agreed to terms with C-DH Victor Martinez on a four-year contract.

So as you can see their have been lots of wheeling and dealing so far in the off-season. It should be noted that there a lot of players that still have not been signed and I am going to give you the brief list of big time players:

Thoughts on TNA Impact and Reaction 12/02/2010

It seems like every time I watch Impact I never know what's going to happen. I like that feeling. Their maybe spoilers out there but I tend not to read the TNA ones. The first match of the night was Kaz taking on Doug Williams. It was a really awesome opening match which ended with Williams hitting Chaos to win the match. I love the matches that these two have had over this last year. They are very solid and you can tell they have chemistry in the ring.

The next match was Sarita vs. Angelina Love vs. Madison Rayne and there was not overly exciting about that match. Sarita won once again putting herself in contention for Knockouts title shot in the near future.

Matt Morgan vs. Rhino went to a no contest after Fortune and Jeff Hardy interfered. Mr. Anderson returned to make the save. He pursues Matt Morgan to make him the special guest referee for Morgan's title match at Final Resolution.

The Main Event was Abyss and Jeff Jarrett vs. Samoa Joe and The Pope. Another match that ended in no contest but Kurt Angle came out and took out Abyss which prompted Jarrett to run off.

There was also a Mickie James concert which Tara interrupted. A brawl ensued between both women and it lasted all night ling. There was also a fist bump showdown between Jay Lethal and Robbie E. That also resulted in a brawl in which Cookie and Christy Hemme got involved. So TNA was a combination of the animal house and girls gone wild. It was insane again this week.

TNA Final Resolution is this Sunday and here is the card:

NFL Week 13 Preview

Week 13 is upon us and there are some great games on this week that could determine the playoff picture. So let's get down to business with my predictions.

(9-2) Atlanta Falcons at(7-4) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Atlanta is coming off a close win, and Tampa Bay coming off a close lost. I really think Atlanta is the team to beat in the NFC right now. They got the defense, the offensive weapons and a great Quarterback. I think Atlanta wins this week and pulls a little farther from the rest of their division

(6-5) Jacksonville Jaguars at (5-6) Tennessee Titans
This game has a lot of importance to it because the Colts are struggling right now and both of these teams still have a shot at the playoffs. This is a good divisional rival game. I think the Jags are going to come back strong this week. The Titans have too many problems right now and so I think I am going to have to go with the Jags on this one.

(8-3) Pittsburgh Steelers at (8-3) Baltimore Ravens
This is another game that could determine a lot for the playoffs. Both teams have a strong defenses but I think Joe Flacco has more weapons to use and because of that Baltimore will edge out Pittsburgh. Don't forget, Big Ben has a boot on his foot due to an injury he suffered.

(9-2) New York Jets at (9-2) New England Patriots
The Jets won the week 2 match up between these two but this they are in New England. Both teams are playing incredible football right now. Sanchez is showing signs of greatness but Brady is already great. I am going to have to go with my Jets. They are experienced, they got weapons and they got Revis and Cromartie who can shut down any receiving core in the league.

I know I am impartial and I favor the Jets but I like their swagger and confidence. We will see what happens Monday Night. As always check back on Tuesday for my week in review.

NFL Week 12 Review

Thanksgiving has come and gone and so has week 12 of the NFL season. There were some great games this week like the Panthers vs. Browns, Falcons vs. Packers, Cowboys vs. Saints, and many more. As it stands right now there are only three teams in the NFC and three teams in the AFC who do not have a chance to make the playoffs. That means 26 teams are still fighting for a playoff spot. That's really unheard of this late in the season.

The Jets and Patriots play each other on Monday Night Football this coming week and that should decided a lot. The Steelers and Ravens play on Sunday Night which could also decided a lot. Some divisional games include Atlanta at Tampa Bay, St. Louis at Arizona, Washington at NY Giants, Denver at Kansas City, Jacksonville at Tennessee, and Oakland at San Diego.

Teams that really don't have a shot at this point are Dallas, Minnesota, Washington, Carolina and Detroit. On the AFC side of things Cincinnati, Buffalo, Cleveland and Denver don't have much of a shot either.

All the teams who needed a win got one but this coming week a lot of the top teams are playing each other so it's going to change the landscape of the playoff race. Check back tomorrow for my week 13 preview.

Thoughts on the Miami Heat

They say pride come before the fall, or something like that. In this case the Miami Heat's bragging and ego filled team has not be fairing to well the first full month of the season. The 9-8 Heat will not win 70 games this season as they predicted. Here is the problem. Dwayne Wade has an ego. Lebron James has an ego. And yes Chris Bosh has an ego. Put three big ego's on one team, it ain't going to work.

The Miami Heat remind of me of 2003-04 Lakers that had all the stars but worst. The difference between the Heat and that Lakers team is that the Lakers had depth on their bench. However Shaq, Kobe, Malone and Payton couldn't get a long. They subsequently lost in the finals to the Detroit Pistons. The only man that stayed was Kobe and he went on to win more championships without the egos. Bosh would be good for either Wade or James but not all three of them together.

The man is getting all the heat for it is coach Erik Spoelstra who actually had a little bit of an altercation with Lebron during the game against Dallas over the week. Rumors have been circulating that Pat Riley will return to the bench and coach again. So many people are talking about the Heat. Tracy McGrady says they are terrible together and that Lebron should have went to Chicago. Phil Jackson made some disparaging remarks about the Heat and their coach. Everyone is talking about the dysfunctional Miami Heat.

This Thursday is going to be the ultimate test for Lebron. Miami plays the Cavs. as Lebron returns to the town he deserted and betrayed. The crowd is absolutely going to go ballistic on him which he deserves I might add. I am going to say this, and that is, I have never had a problem with Wade or Bosh simply because Wade has remained loyal to Miami and Bosh was on a bad team. Lebron James was given everything in Cleveland. He gave that city hope, gave them something to dream about and made them be proud of their town. He threw it all away like an egomaniac because it was all about championship rings. How close are you to a ring now? Not very close at all because you're on a team that's not yours. It's been Wade's since he was drafter and it will remain Wade's until he leaves there.

I always said, it takes one hell of a man to have an hour long show to decide where you're going to play at. Lebron's an egomaniac, he's into himself and all he cares about is his image. Why do you think the video of him getting dunked on by a college kid was never released? It was to embarrassing for him.

The Miami Heat are slowly going up in flames and I for one love it. There are five teams better then the Heat right now in the east and they are Orlando, Boston Atlanta, Chicago, and Indiana. Why are these teams good? Because they don't have ego's. Well some of them do but they don't get in the way of the team.

Will the Heat and Erik Spoelstra survive the season? Only time will tell, stay tuned.

Finally the Boise St debate has been put to rest. They were defeated by 19 Nevada, and put themselves out of Championship contention. That was really the only upset of the week except for 12 Arkansas defeating 5 LSU. Here are the new rankings that came out last night.

EA Sports MMA Review

Earlier this week, I got a chance to sit down and play EA Sports: MMA. There was a lot of talk about this game and how it would compare to the UFC games. Well my verdict is in. I think the overall presentation of the game is decent.

When I first was playing the game the controls were hard to figure out but once I got them figured out it was a little bit easier. I will say this, submissions are a lot easier to do on this game but striking is much harder. I think the whole point of the game is trying to get people to tap out. They have a good selection of fighters including Strikeforce, and former UFC fighters.

What I hate about the game is the ring announcing...No one can touch Bruce Buffer and plus the guys voice on the game sounds distorted. The ring announcing is really good and it has a lot of emphasizes on it.

So if you're an MMA and asked me if I would buy it, I would say yes. It is entertaining and in it's a very competitive game. It's a fun game if you're a die hard MMA fan who isn't just limited to the UFC stuff.

Review of "Faster"

Usually I do not write about movies but if it involved a former or current wrestler or pro athlete I will. Yesterday I saw The Rock's new movie, "Faster." Anyone who knows me I have disliked The Rock because of abrupt departure from pro wrestling and his refusal to make appearances. However I will not dispute the fact that he is a great actor who has had some really good movies. Watching "Faster" yesterday made me realize just how good he was.

The movie also starred Billy Bob Thornton, Carla Gugino, Moon Bloodgood, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, and Maggie Grace. I am not going to give any details away but I will say this, The Rock played his character well. His character is very methodical, and doesn't say a lot throughout the movie. It's a movie about vengeance, retribution and also forgiveness.

The movies I've seen of The Rock's are The Game Plan, Get Smart, Race to Witch Mountain, The Mummy Returns, The Scorpion King, The Rundown,
Walking Tall, Be Cool and Gridiron Gang. This by far is his best performance out of all those movies.

The crazy thing about this movie is his character doesn't even have a name. He's simply known as Driver because he was the getaway driver in the bank robberies he committed which was a part of his past. However his name is revealed in a few synopsis of the movie and it's James Cullen.

If you like a good shoot em up, thrilling, suspense movie this would be a good movie to watch. The Rock definitely delivers in this movie and he's simply electrifying. The next Rock movie I am looking forward to is Fast Five, the fifth installment of Fast and Furious it will also star Vin Diesel, Paul Walker
Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang as Han Lue, Tyrese Gibson, and Ludacris

This week on TNA, members of the TNA Roster tried stepping up against Fortune. Matt Morgan and Douglas Williams were the first two. They recruited Samoa Joe and The Pope for an eight man tag as the main event of the evening.

Tommy Dreamer and Rhino fought in a street fight which was awesome and brutal. Dreamer defeated Rhino but was attacked by him after match until RVD came and made the save. I kind of like what they are doing with Rhino right now. They will face off at Final Resolution in a Extreme First Blood match.

Jeff Jarrett is in one of the dumber storylines in recent memory. They are having him act like he is an MMA expert. I don't know if he really is or not but if so it's coming off really stupid. He beat Jesse Neal an in MMA "match" on Impact and wouldn't release the choke hold until Shannon Moore made the save.

Sarita beat Madison Rayne in a match but before the match all hell broke loose between the knockouts once again. It's been crazy with the Knockouts and they are doing more then they ever would in WWE. I just absolutely love it.

In the Main Event the 8 man elimination tag went to a no contest. Matt Morgan was the last man on his team until Jeff Hardy came in and hit a low blow on Morgan and took out the referee. Still no word on who Morgan has chose as his special guest referee for his match with Jeff Hardy at Final Resolution

At the end of Impact, Dixie Carter returned to know that she and Hulk Hogan are going to court over who really controls TNA Wrestling. I love the look on Hogan and Bischoffs face when they read to papers.

I love where TNA is going right now and the next few months should be awesome. Literally, it feels like you really don't know what's going to happen with the company and even the wrestlers are anxious about what's going to happen. I'd stay tuned for more.

King of the Ring Returns and More

This coming Monday Night on Raw, the King of the Ring will return. It will be a three hour special. I always enjoyed the King of the Ring as a PPV but now I enjoy it just as much on TV. There always great matches in the tournament. Here are the past winners of the King of the Ring.

I am not sure what the brackets will look like but I love the array of talent this year. It's about time the young guys got pushed and this is the best way to do it. A lot has been happening in the WWE as of lately like The Miz becoming WWE Champion, John Cena being "fired" and Edge/Kane feud which has taken on a life of it's own. I expect some big things out of WWE for the end of the year. The last couple of weeks have been good and lets see if they can finally get back on track. Only time will tell so stay tuned for more.

Although it's not official the Detroit Tigers have also signed Victor Martinez to a four year, $50 million dollar deal. It should also be noted that Derek Jeter and the Yankees cannot agree on a price for his new contract at this time. GM Brian Cashman has told Jeter to test the market and see what he might get. It would be very hard to see Jeter in another uniform other pinstripes. Stay tuned for more on this developing situation.

NFL Week 12 Preview

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy the three football games on TV. Let's get down to business with my predictions for the week.

(7-3) Green Bay Packers at (8-2) Atlanta Falcons
Both teams are on a roll. I really enjoy watching Atlanta because they are team that no one ever really talks about. I think after Sunday when they beat the Packers people will be talking about them. Atlanta wins hands down

(5-5) Miami Dolphins at (5-5) Oakland Raiders
Two words come to mind when I think of these two teams and that's dynamic offense. Both team are a lot better then their records show. I personally enjoy watching both teams offenses but because Miami is having Quarterback problems I am going to go with the Raiders this week. They have been consistent for the most part and they will beat the Dolphins in a close one.

(7-3) Philadelphia Eagles at (7-3) Chicago Bears
I am going to keep this short and sweet and I am saying the Eagles are going to win this game. Michael Vick is DeSean Jackson are too much for any defense to handle right now. The Bears have been play exceptionally well but the Eagles have been playing better. Vick is definitely an MVP candidate this year. I give him a lot of credit for turning his life and career around.

(7-3) Tampa Bay Buccaneers at (7-3) Baltimore Ravens
This game is really hard because I honestly did not see the Bucs being that good this year. Even though they have turned out to be a good team I truly believe that they will be tested by a great team in the Ravens this week. I think the Ravens will win a very close game and I think it's going to be a nail biter. Joe Flacco is playing really good right now so I am taking the Ravens in this one.

NFL Week 11 Review

Well week 11 is in the books, and not a lot to report this week, but their were some interesting things that happened. First, I was so happy to see Big Ben get decked by Richard Seymour this week. Big Ben was showboating and paid the price. I don't agree with Seymour being ejected and escorted out by police. I thought that was too harsh.

Brad Childress has been fired and all I have to say is good riddance. He finally deserved what he got. You can stick a fork in the Vikings, and a few other teams because they have no chance of making the playoffs.

The New York Cardiac Jets like some people love to call them pulled of another miracle win again this week. Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards and Mark Sanchez were the heroes this week. This is the third week in a row they have pulled something like this off and I am starting to think they enjoy toying with their opponents. A part of me thinks they know what their doing. Who knows?

There are 6 weeks left and if the playoffs started today here would be the teams going from the NFC:

Chicago
Green Bay
Philadelphia
Tampa Bay

You would also have to factor in that New Orleans is still hanging tough and the NFC West is garbage. Here are the teams from the AFC that would be going:

The AFC is a tight race the with teams like Miami, San Diego, Oakland and, Tennessee. A lot can happen in six weeks so stay tuned. Their could be some shockers.

John Cena to MMA? I Don't Think So

Last night John Cena was "fired" from WWE as a result for not helping Wade Barrett win the WWE Title. The stipulation was if Barrett won the WWE Title Cena would be free from Nexus. If Orton retained the title Cena would be fired. Orton retained the title so Cena is fired. What people need to understand is John Cena isn't really fired, it's just part of a storyline.

Earlier this morning S.C. Michaelson from Watch Kalib Run, which is an MMA website reported that John Cena would become an MMA fighter and is setting up a fight between he and Batista. One of Cena's quotes was, "I wasn't that good a rapper, but I hustled and got a deal. I wasn't that good of a wrestler, but I earned respect and became a champion. Now I look to take all of that and become the best cage fighter I can be."

I am asking all wrestling and MMA fans to not blow this out of proportions. John Cena is not becoming an MMA fighter. What John Cena did is what they call kayfabe in the wrestling business. Kayfabe is is the portrayal of events within the industry as "real". They portray it as being genuine or not worked. It also means that the event/interview has been "kayfabed" or staged, or is part of a wrestling angle while being passed off as real or legitimate.

John Cena is and always will be a WWE Superstar. I think it's tasteless that someone who is suppose to be an MMA journalist would even believe this for a second. He obviously doesn't know the wrestling business that well. So MMA fans don't freak out, because John Cena will not be in MMA anytime soon. He is WWE for life.

Thoughts on Survivor Series

Tonight was the annual pay-per-view known as Survivor Series. The night opened with U.S. Champion Bryan Danielson taking on Ted Dibiase. It was a really solid match and I like the fact that Dibiase got rid of the Million Dollar Championship and went after some gold that he earned. Even though Danielson retained the title Dibiase will still be in the title hunt.

The second match was Sheamus going against John Morrison. I don't know what to make of this little feud going on but I like it. Morrison won the match but it was really good match. Morrison needs to get pushed harder into the WWE Title picture. He's a young Shawn Michaels and shows signs of being an untouchable performer like HBK was.

Dolph Ziggler defended his Intercontinental Title against LoKi. Loki was is a great wrestler and is a future champion. He carried the match tonight against Dolph and it show that LoKi is a very experienced wrestler and has been to the dance a few times. Ziggler retains and remains IC Champ.

The next match was a traditional Survivor Series match that pitted Team Rey Mysterio (Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston, MVP, Chris Masters and The Big Show) against Team Alberto Del Rio (Alberto Del Rio, Cody Rhodes, Tyler Reks, Drew McIntyre and Jack Swagger). I love the fact the that Del Rio was never officially eliminated which kept his heel heat intact. He was knocked out by the Big Show when illegally in the ring. Big Show and Rey Mysterio were the sole survivors in the match.

In a 2 on 1 Handicap Match Co-Diva Champions Layla and Michelle McCool took on Natalya. This was a short and brief match that finally saw Natalya win the Diva's title. I always thought that Michelle McCool was overrated and didn't deserve all the TV time she got. Finally a great wrestler with lots of talent is the Diva's champion. Hopefully Natalya will be champ for awhile. After the match LayCool tried beating up the new champion until Beth Phoenix made her return and celebrated with Natalya.

World Heavyweight Champion Kane takes on one of the greatest World Heavyweight Champions in Edge. Kane was without Paul Bearer and it seemed to throw him off. It was a back and forth match. Edge speared Kane and it look liked Edge won the title but both men's shoulders were down which resulted in a draw. Kane tried to destroy Edge but it was Edge who annihilated Kane after the match. I am sure we'll see more of this feud to come.

The WWE Tag Team Championship Match that had Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater against Vladimir Kozlov and Santino Marella was just an entertaining filler. Nothing to special about this match. Nexus retains the gold.

Freed or Fired and that's the choice John Cena had tonight. Cena called it right down the middle until Barrett shoved him. Then Cena shoved Barrett into the RKO and counted three which means Cena is fired from the WWE. Obviously we know it's a storyline and he's really not fired but I will be curious to see how this plays out.

Tonight was a solid effort at a decent PPV. I wasn't jumping out of my seat but the matches were solid. Nothing really surprised me so I'll give it a 6 out of 10 for a good effort. WWE needs to have the unpredictable mindset like they use to. Hopefully someday they can recreate the old motto, "Anything can happen in the WWE!" It was good to watch some of the young guys step up tonight and hopefully we will see more of that. All I got to say is RKO, Orton is still on top.

Baseball Expanding Playoffs?

There has been a lot of talks about expanding the playoffs in Major League Baseball as of recently to ten teams. However I think it should be expanded to 12 teams and here's what my proposed format would be.

Have three division winners and three wild-cards in each league. The two divisional winners with the best records get a bye and then the three wild-cards and the divisional winner with the worst record coming in plays each other. The two rounds should be best of 5, then ALCS, NLCS, and World Series be best of seven. Because think about it, look it what this years playoffs would have been like if that format was in place. Here's an example:

Minnesota Twins
New York Yankees
Boston Red Sox
Chicago White Sox

Those would have been some really good games on that side of things.

National League
Philadelphia Phillies

Again those would have been some really good games. I like the idea of adding two additional teams to the playoffs because more then four teams have winning records and I think it would make for better competition.
