2011 NFL Week 8 Predictions

This week in the NFL it is week 8 and picking four games this week isn't so great. A lot of miss matches but I found four worthy games to talk about. As Jim Ross would say, "Business is about to pick up."

Washington Redskins (3-3) at   Buffalo Bills (4-2)
I think this week could be a spoiler week for a few teams. Washington has had it's up's and down's so far this year but I think now that Beck is in command of the QB spot the offense will perform better. However the Bills just magically keep scoring a lot of points and eating up defenses. I have to go with the Bills but I think the Redskins will make it interesting.

Cleveland Browns (3-3) at San Francisco 49ers (5-1)
This is another game that has the potential to be a spoiler. The Browns have beaten teams like the Patriots, Saints and Steelers all in the last year. The 49ers could make the mistake of overlooking the Browns and losing. Do I think that will happen? No, because I believe Coach Harbaugh has got his team very disciplined and ready to play.

New England Patriots (5-1) at Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2)
Most people won't like this statement but the Steelers have had an easy schedule and I think it will show this week. The Patriots have beaten almost everyone in-front of them. I think the Patriots will win hands down this week proving once again why they are the most dominant team in the AFC right now.

Dallas Cowboys (3-3) at Philadelphia Eagles (2-4)
America's Team vs. the Dream Team. Anyway you put it both teams have failed expectations so far this year. I believe this will finally be the week the Eagles get it together and win one. The Cowboys seem to be cracking a lot this year while the Eagles just make stupid mistakes. I think those mistakes will be corrected after the bye week they just had. Either way, this division rivalry game will be intense and possible even get nasty. At the end of the day, the Eagles fly past the Cowboys.

As always keep checking back for recaps and predictions each week. Here are the lines from Vegas.com this week:

2011 NFL Week 7 Recap

The season is almost half over and this week threw a few things off. Here are some of the teams that won that  I didn't expect to win this week:

Panther over Redskins
Jets over Chargers
Chiefs over Oakland
Jaguars over Ravens

At then of the week the Packers are still undefeated and the Rams, Dolphins, and Colts still have not won a game yet. If the season ended the today this is how how the playoffs would look:

NFC
1 Green Bay
2 San Francisco
3 New Orleans
4 NY Giants
5 Detroit
6 Chicago

AFC
1 New England
2 Pittsburgh
3 San Diego
4 Houston
5 Cincinnati
6 Buffalo

The 3 teams I wouldn't have expected to be in this picture are the Bengals, Bills and 49ers. Each team has made a lot of improvements over the last year and if this playoff picture holds up then it will be nice to see some new faces in the playoffs. Week 7 has come and gone but stay tuned for more because if you're 0-6 not much else could go wrong!

2011 NFL Week 7 Predictions

This week is a tough one because most teams have .500 records and the below .500 are playing the above .500 and its tough to choose games this weeks. At any rate here we go with my four matchup's of the week.

Atlanta Falcons (3-3) at Detroit Lions (5-1)
The Falcons were a heavy favorite going into this year but have lacked in a lot of categories. The Lions will be angry to the close game they lost this past week. I think the Lions are out to prove that first loss was a fluke and with Ronnie Brown now at the Running Back position I believe the Lions will be so much better on offense then what they have been already this year. I am going with the Lions this week because they still have a lot of momentum behind them.

Chicago Bears (3-3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-2)
The Bears are simply put the Bears. One week they will be great and one week they will be bad. The Bucs on the other hand have done a pretty good job except for two horrible losses this year. I think the Bucs are riding high after beating the Saints this week and will continue to ride that momentum this week and beat the Bears.

Houston Texans (3-3) at Tennessee Titans (3-2)
These two teams are at the top of their division and both look to try and get ahead this week. I honestly feel that Houston is the better team and will prove that this week. Houston has played the tougher teams and has more depth on their team. Houston goes to 4-3 this week and takes the division lead.

San Diego Chargers (4-1) at New York Jets (3-3)
The Chargers look great this year and the Jets aren't living up to the hype but the only reason I think that the Jets will win this is because L.T. is playing against the Chargers for the first time since he left two years ago. I look for L.T. to have a big game and lead the Jets back above .500 this week.  The Jets have the capabilities to be in the Super Bowl, it's a matter of getting motivated and getting the job done and this week is their week to start building towards that.
