Well I hope boxers and boxing fans learned their lesson last night. Don't ever talk trash before an MMA fight ecspecially if you have never been in an MMA fight. James Toney learned the hard way last night. Randy Couture choked out Toney at about 3 minutes of the first round proving an MMA fighter doesn't stand around and get hit like a punching bag. Hopefully these crazy boxing fans will shut up once and for all.
As for all the critics who said that Frankie Edgar's first win over BJ Penn was a fluke, guess again. Edgar won by unanmious decision and dominated Penn. Think I am exaggerating, read Penn's postfight comments. I think Frankie Edgar is the future of the Lightweight Division. He has been beating some tough guys and made his way to the top. I look forward to seeing who is next for Frankie Edgar.

Thoughts on Hard Knocks: New York Jets
Although Tom Brady may not be watching Hard knocks with the New York Jets, I am sure any true NFL fan with HBO is. I've watched the first three episodes of the show and have really liked what I have seen. I really have a new found respect for football players and what they have to go through on a regular basis. Sure they make millions of dollars but they go through a lot during camp, practices and during the regular season.
I am definitely enjoying the show because the Jets are one of my two favorite teams in the NFL. I really enjoy watching Mark Sanchez, Braylon Edwards and Shonn Greene. A lot has been said about Darell Revis and players talk about it too. I really like what I see this year in the Jets. They got some depth on offense, and the defense is going to be strong again with the return of Kris Jenkins.
Hard knocks is definitely a great show to watch for all sports fans, but especially if you are a football fan. So if you HBO look for it On Demand.

Bobby Lashley vs. Batista in the Works for Strikeforce
Even though Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker won't give us much detail, he has been talking to former WWE start Dave Batista about coming to Strikeforce. After Bobby Lashley's brutal loss to Chad Griggs it seems more apparent now that a Lashley versus Batista fight in the cage is very likely.
Before Saturday night, Lashley looked like a dominant force but he realized what MMA is all about. I think Lashley has a bright future in MMA but needs to actually have a game plan when he goes in there. It's not all about knocking someone out. I think Lashley could be as dominant as Brock Lesnar if he has the proper training and technique.
Batista on the other hand has been training in MMA for quite some time but has no fight experience. Batista does have raw power and has some quickness about him. Do I think he could be a good as Brock? No because he's too old and has had to many injuries.
It's just a matter of time before these two lock horns inside an octagon and not a wrestling ring. Who would come out the victor? Well you wouldn't be able to read the dirt sheets to find out.

Roger Clemens Indicted
Earlier this week Roger Clemens was indicted on federal charges of lying to congress about his use and others use of performence enhancing drugs. All I got to say, is it's about time. Why would you lie to the federal government about something that you did in your past that you can't for in trouble anymore? It's too bad that Roger Clemens had to take the fall for something Jose Conseco and Barry Bonds started. These two are the reason this mess has happened.
It's about time these athletes start suffering the consquences of their actions. Too many have gotten away with way to much for to long. I've noticed that when atheletes come out and tell the truth they are more respect and they are left alone. Look at Andy Pettite for example. He fessed up and people have left him alone and he hasn't been dragged through the mud. The same goes for Alex Rodriguez and a few others.

Thoughts on TNA Impact and Reaction 8/19/2010
So after watching TNA again this past week I've come to the conclusion that they are trying to get the "Attitude Era" wrestling fans back. The biggest piece of news is that RVD was forced to vacate the title due to the attack by Abyss. The 8 man tournament began with four men advancing. At No Surrender the semi finals will feature Jeff Hardy vs. Kurt Angle and The Pope vs. Mr. Anderson. The winner of these matches will go on to Bound for Glory to wrestle for the TNA Heavyweight Championship.
Ric Flair's group Fortune continues to run wild. They challenged Dixie Carter's authority and attacked Kevin Nash, Sting, Jeff Jarrett and Hulk Hogan. Doug Williams had a great match with Kurt Angle and AJ Styles had a solid match with Tommy Dreamer. The show ended with EV 2.0 fighting with Fortune once again. Abyss attacked Dreamer and had two seperate confrontations with Jeff Hardy.
TNA's new show Reaction is really awesome. It goes backstage and behind the scenes with the TNA wrestlers and personel. It airs after every Impact and gets the fans more involved. I think it's great to have right now because of the Fortune and EV 2.0 feud.
TNA is getting crazy and exciting. These WWE loyalists need to wake up and smell the coffee and realize TNA has the better product and the better stories right now. I can tell you that Fortune is better then Nexus and the angle is better as well. Keep tuning every Thursday night to see what happens next.

Brett Favre Returns...Again
It took three Vikings players and an airplane to get him there, but Brett Favre arrived in Minnesota yesterday and announced he would be returning for his 20th and final season. He practiced Wednesday and said he hope to play this Sunday in preseason.
He said he owed it to his team but is that why he really came back. I think he came back for the attention, for the money and to stick it to Green Bay one more time. They were a couple of plays away from the Super Bowl last year so he thinks he can do better.
It remains to be seen if Brett can recapture the magic he had last year with the Vikings. They still have the same team intact except for the lost of Chester Taylor but I think the Vikings will be fine. If Percy Harvin can stay healthy and Adrian Peterson can hold on to the ball, I think the Vikings chances of making it to the Super Bowl will be good. Stay tuned for see what happens.

Thoughts on the Direction of TNA
After this past weeks TNA Impact it is more clear that TNA is headed in a new direction. Watching TNA this past week reminded me of the ECW, WCW and WWE of the 90's. That great era consisted of great matches, chaos and unpredictability. I know it's taped and spoilers get out but the chaos that took place at the end Impact was definintely felt. The rivalry between Fortune and the rest of TNA has only just begun.
Right now you have everything in the 90's and plus all the great young talent that TNA has. You have Ric Flair's new Four Horsemen, the old ECW guys and some of the old WCW guys. I really think with all the intriguing stories and matches TNA could start to make some headway. I really think TNA is doing what it can to keep with WWE and just maybe the momentum is turning in TNA's favor. I would really like to see TNA become a legit threat to WWE and force WWE's hand to give us better wrestling.
If you're a wrestling fan, especially of the 90's start watching TNA because in my opinion it is the better wrestling company at this point in time. Stay tuned because things are going to get good.

The Expendables Review
I usually don't write about movies but because it had three MMA fighters and a former WWE star in it, I decided to write about. I saw a midnight showing of The Expendables the other night and it was really great. A lot of people thought that it was going to a bad movie. I hate say it but it was a lot of better then I thought and what the critics said.
It had a good story to it, and each character had their own issues they were dealing with. I will saying, that watching Stone Cold vs. Stallone was epic as well as watching Stone Cold fighting Randy Couture. Neither are great actors but they played their roles very well. My favorite characters in the movie were Jet Li's and Terry Crews. They both made me laugh hysterically.
If you like action, blood, and a little bit of laughter this would be movie to go see. It's a got an interesting story and a great plot. If you're a fan of any of the people in this movie, you should definitely go watch it. It's a must see movie. I would give 4 out of 5 stars. Don't listen to all the geeks and nerds of the world who went and saw this movie. This movie will blow you away.

Thoughts on Tiger Woods Performance
This weekend I had a chance to watch some of the worst golf ever played by Tiger Woods. In an event he has won numerous times he finished T-78 which put him at second to last. I really think that this whole affair and divorce thing are really starting to get to him. He is not the same golfer he once was. He is playing the PGA Championship this coming weekend but after that it is being reported that he might take some time off.
In my honest opinion Tiger hasn't played well since he came back. In fact, he came back way too soon and it is starting to show. The man has to much on his mind and at times looked like he hasn't cared about being there. Will Tiger Woods ever come back and be the golfer he once was? Well that remains to be seen. I sure hope so for golf's sake. Golf needs Tiger and Tiger needs golf.

Thoughts on TNA Hardcore Justice
Last night some of the ECW originals from back in the 90's had another chance to shine in what was called the last stand. I thought the show was very entertaining. Although I really enjoyed the show, I really thought the ECW One Night Stand that took place back in 2005 was a lot better. WWE had more resources to make it better.
However there was one thing I loved about last night, there no TNA guys on the show except the ones who were apart of ECW in the past. WWE had Raw and Smackdown guys back in 2005 which made it non-authentic. There was some bright spots on the show last night starting with Too Cold Scorpio. This guy was and is a great worker. He can still move around the ring.
I thought Sabu vs. RVD was a great tribute to what ECW was all about. I really enjoyed Bill Alfonso's part in the match. RVD has come a long way since his days in ECW. He has become a household name who people enjoy watching. The other match that was epic was Raven vs. Tommy Dreamer with Mick Foley as the special guest referee. This match was enjoyable to watch especially when Mick Foley got involved. It was great to watch.
It was a fun pay-per-view to watch last night and if this was the last ECW reunion, then I am glad they went out on their terms. Don't be surprise to see a few them stay in TNA.
