How WWE Should Look After the WWE Draft

It was the announced this week that the WWE will be splitting up the brands once again. WWE Raw and Smackdown will have separate rosters. This is all about Smackdown live on Tuesday Nights on the USA Network. I for one have high expectations for this new split because there is a lot of great talent on the roster that is not being used and I think it's going to provide opportunity for many on the current roster and the starts down in NXT. I believe Raw should have the WWE Championship, United States Championship and Women's Championship. Smackdown should have the World Championship, the Intercontinental Championship and bring back the Cruiserweight Championship. I believe both shows should share the Tag Team Championships. My personal belief is that everyone is going to watch Raw regardless of whose in charge which is why I think Shane McMahon should be in charge of Smackdown. He is the more likable of the two and his popularity would help Smackdown be on equal ground as Raw. With all this being said here is how I think the rosters should be shaped based on what I think they should do.

My personal opinion is that Asuka and Bayley be called to go Raw's Women's Division while Smackdown should Finn Balor and Samoa Joe. People may ask who from NXT should go to Raw besides the Women? If I were to call up any stars from NXT to Raw it would be either tag team of American Alpha or The Revival. There are so many possibilities to what could happen in the WWE once this all takes place. I am excited. Are you excited? What are you hoping comes out of this? Who should be on what show? I want to hear your opinions and thoughts. 

Review of WWE's Greatest 100 Matches

I think this might be the first time I ever have written a review about a book but that's because I am more of a writer and not a reader. I recently picked up the newest WWE Book Greatest 100 matches because personally I think it's a good piece of history to have. I also came to the conclusion that it's a really great guide to the WWE Network. The matches are not in any order but some of them have little blurbs of why they were picked. First and foremost I was shock to see Chris Benoit's name in the book, Since they put him in the book I really felt like the Wrestlemania 20 Main Event should have been in there. I also felt Hogan vs. McMahon from Wrestlemania 19, Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle from Wrestlemania 19 and CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan from Money in the Bank 2012. These are just a few matches that weren't in the book that should have been. The should have taken the place of Lesnars matches with Cena at Summerslam and Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Both of those were not good matches but I understand their significance. 

If you are a true die-hard pro wrestling fan this book is a must have. As I said before it's a good guide to the Network and a piece of history for longtime fans of the WWE. I love this book and the fact that each match is details. Go and pickup a copy of this book today!

Review, Recap, Results of WWE Extreme Rules 2016

Tonight WWE went to the extreme and it did not disappoint. Before I begin with my thoughts here are the results of Extreme Rules

-Pre-Show: Baron Corbin defeated Dolph Ziggler
-Tornado Tag Team Match: The Club defeated The Uso's
-Rusev defeated Kalisto to win the United States Title\
-The New Day defeated The Vaudevillians to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship
-The Miz defeated Cesaro, Sami Zayn, and Kevin Owens to retain the Intercontinental Championship
-Dean Ambrose defeated Chris Jericho in the first ever Asylum match.
-Charlotte defeated Natalya in a Submission Match to retain the WWE Women's Championship
-Roman Reigns defeated AJ Styles to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

I love the fact that The Club finally got a victory in their feud. A lot of people have complaining about how poorly booked Anderson and Gallows have been but tonight they were booked right. They looked impressive and they looked dominating. Speaking of dominating I do like the fact that they are getting Rusev back on track to the way he was when he first started. I think Rusev got punished for the wrong reasons and it's good to see him being properly.

When it comes to being used properly I think the most entertaining thing in WWE is The New Day. I use to hate The New Day. The New Day has ran through the tag team division so whats left? The New Day has yet to face Enzo and Big Cass and The Club. Those are two feuds that I cannot wait to see. Something I want to see again is the fatal four way for the Intercontinental Championship. Even though I am disappointed that The Miz retained it was definitely a match of the year candidate. I believe the three challengers have some big things ahead of them. Cesaro, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens all should be competing for the World Title when they are not in the hunt for the Intercontinental Championship.

Former Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose is one hell of a performer. I loved the idea of the Asylum Match and it was very innovative for what it was suppose to do. It was good to see some old school objects used like the thumbtacks and the barbed wire 2x4. What I didn't want to see on this show is for Natalya to lose again. I feel like after they mocked the Montreal Screwjob they should have had Nattie won the title. A short term title run would have done Nattie and the Women's Division some good. Hopefully we will a compelling women's feud between Charlotte and Sasha Banks will be coming shortly.

The main event between AJ Styles and Roman Reigns had a slow start but they sure as hell picked up the pace. These two put on a hell of a match and even though it went down the way I thought it would I truly believe AJ Styles has brought out the best in Roman Reigns. After the match was over Seth Rollins returned and Pedigreed Reigns and held the title over his head. This is a huge return and I have a feeling Rollins is going make his claim as champion considering he never really lost it. I will give the show a sold 7.5 out of 10 because it was somewhat predictable but everyone put in a great effort all the way across the board. Next up is Money in the Bank which takes place June 19th in Las Vegas. Everyone will be rolling the dice and hopefully cashing in their chips on the road to Summerslam..

Previewing and Predicting WWE Extreme Rules 2016

When it comes to WWE pay-per-views I never write previews to a show unless it's Wrestlemania. This time it's a little different for me because Payback was a really great show and had me wanting more. The last three weeks of TV have been very good and have made excited for Extreme Rules. This Sunday goes to the Extreme but hopefully my predictions are dead on.

No Disqualification Match: Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin

Baron and Dolph have both been fairly quiet since Payback but both have a lot to prove in the match. I see Corbin winning the match because he's up and coming but I look for Ziggler to put on a good performance and make his opponent look good like he always does. Corbin needs the victory more then Ziggler so the Lone Wolf walks out a winner.

United States Championship: Kalisto vs. Rusev

The way I see it is Kalisto is the next Rey Mysterio. He's the underdog, he's the little man who can beat the bigger man. I honestly think Kalisto might be a little bit better then Mysterio was. I still think Rusev and Lana still aren't out of the WWE doghouse so Rusev will not be walking out with the championship again. What I would like to see from here is Kalisto feud with his tag team partner Sin Cara. I think they would have some great matches. Sorry Rusev you won't be crushing anyone at Extreme Rules.

Asylum Match: Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho

A lot of people are poking fun of this match because it was named after something TNA Wrestling did years ago. I am sorry but TNA has nothing on Ambrose and Jericho. This match could potentially be the match of the night because of how great Ambrose and Jericho are. I feel like Ambrose needs this win to get some momentum going towards a main event push. Look for a highly entertaining match and the Lunatic Fringe to walk out the victor. 

WWE Tag Team Championships: The New Day vs. The Vaudevillians 

All I got to say is New Day rocks and will continue to rock after Extreme Rules. I would be very shocked if the New Day lost the tag titles. I feel like those titles are staying on the New Day until Enzo Amore and Big Cass are ready for them. There are a lot of great tag teams on the roster right now so anything is possible. There are so many potential match up's and so many possible feuds so anything can happen. At the end of the day I just can't see The New Day without the gold.

Submission Match for the WWE Women's Championship: Charlotte vs. Natalya

I feel like Natalya should win this match but I know she won't. This would be 3 big matches in a row that Nattie would lose which I don't think is good. I think because of what happened at Payback that the outcome should be Nattie winning the Women's Championship. Unfortunately Charlotte is on top of her game right now with or without Ric involved. I think this will be a highly competitive match but I see Charlotte somehow and someway winning and keeping the gold for the foreseeable future.

Intercontinental Championship: The Miz vs. Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro vs. Sami Zayn

I can tell you every Ring of Honor fan is hoping that The Miz doesn't walk out as the champion. I think The Miz is a hell of an entertainer but it's not believable for him to walk out as the champion considering how great the other three men are in this match. I really can't predict a winner because all four of them have a strong case of why they should be Intercontinental Champion. I look for this to be most competitive match of the night. 

Tornado Tag Team: The Uso's vs. The Club(Luke Gallows vs. Karl Anderson)

A lot of people are complaining that this feud is dragging on but I love this feud because both sides are intense and they are bringing out the best in each other. I love feuds that lost awhile as long as they are good. I feel like this is a good feud. Both teams have had strong showings and they look like great together in the ring. I have to go with Gallows and Anderson on this one because they have not won a pay-per-view match yet. This victory will hopefully carry them into a possible tag team title feud. 

Extreme Rules for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles

Unfortunately for those who want to see Reigns drop the title I don't think it's going to happen here. AJ Styles has brought out the absolute best in Roman Reigns. This rivalry has been an awesome to watch. I love that there is added components of the two factions. I think the Bloodline and The Club are going to be around for awhile. They might not always be feuding but they will cross paths. There are a lot of possible outcomes to this match. I've heard The Uso's, The Club, Seth Rollins and Finn Balor could all possibly be involved in what happens in the outcome of this match. Extreme Rules will close with Roman Reigns barely surviving the match with Styles but holding the title high. 

WWE Extreme Rules will be a fun night for Wrestling fans. I think we will get a glimpse of what the summer is going to be like in WWE. This Sunday we go to the Extreme!

Tax Payers Funding Sports Arena Should Gets Discounted Tickets

As we all know the 2016-17 NHL season will be the last season that the Detroit Red Wings will be playing in Joe Louis Arena. They have been playing there since 1979 and have had some historical moments in the arena. The arena is owned by the city of Detroit, and operated by Olympia Entertainment, a subsidiary of Ilitch Holdings. Since Tigers Stadium and the Pontiac Silverdome have been demolished, Joe Louis Arena has been the last great landmark in the city of Detroit and it's outer limits. This has all changed because in 2014 the city of Detroit approved a project of $650 million to build a new hockey arena near Ford Field and Comerica Park. Sadly once Little Caesars Arena is built, the legendary Joe Louis Arena will be demolished.

There has been a huge outcry about the name of the new arena and that it doesn't represent what the city wants. I am not going to dwell on names, sponsors on the arena or the fact that the owners aren't listening to their fans. In 2014 the average cost to go to an NHL game was $62.18.  I am pretty sure that number has changed a little but in the last two years because that's naturally how the economy goes. Everything goes up in price except a persons wages. In 2012, the city of Detroit filed bankruptcy because Detroit's long terms debt had reached close to 20 billion dollars. So here you have all of this debt and a proven track record that city is not economically stable and the city wants to build a new arena? What's really bothersome is that the taxpayers of Detroit will be paying $285 million dollars in long term taxes to fund this 650 million dollar arena.

If I am a citizen of the city of the Detroit why should I pay outrageous prices to go to a hockey game when my hard earned money is already funding a good portion of the arena being built? I feel that if you live in a city with a sports team and your taxes funded the arena then you should be getting discounts on tickets. This should be especially true for a hurting city like Detroit which like I said is not economically stable. These sports owners forget it's the people who really make these things possible. They buy the tickets, they buy the merchandise and they buy at the concessions in order to have a good time. The least these owners could is cut the taxpayers a break on ticket prices. Some of these taxpayers don't even make enough money to go to a sporting event so why should they have their money taken out to support one? 

Professional sports is probably the most greedy industry to be involved with. The players always want more money, the owners want to save their money and the fans just want to be able to go support their team without killing the entire banking account. I believe the Illitch family needs to set an example here. If you live within the city limits of Detroit and are paying taxes on this new arena then the taxpayer should get something like 25-30 percent off their tickets. I believe this is how you keep your loyal fan base and not further putting the city or it's people in debt. Little Caesars Arena opens September 2017. Hopefully the people of Detroit will be able to come out and support their team. 

Thoughts on Ryback's Departure and Statement

One night after having one of the best matches of his career Ryback was sent home. Ryback has been unhappy for awhile now and has publicly stated so. Ryback has been upset money and his place within the company. Today he released this statement about his current situation. 

"Today I sit and fly home and for the first time in years feel absolutely free. I will start by saying I did request to be taken off of WWE television until myself and Vince could get a yes or no on a new deal. This has been going on since my IC Title run and had been nothing but a major strain on my life as all I ever wanted to do was work for WWE. I was told to head home until we agree or not agree to specific terms and contrary to reports it isn’t over money or a bus that stuff was settled a while ago. It comes down to a major problem I have with not only WWE but wrestling in general.

Wrestling is pre determined, we as performers know before we go out to that ring or perform a backstage scene who is winning and losing etc or have a general idea of what we are going to say. It blows my mind how in a sport which is pre determined from a company standpoint winners are paid so much more than the losers. Every single person who works for WWE from top to bottom is absolutely just as valuable as the next. The winners cannot win unless the losers go out there and agree to lose to them.

It blows my mind that in this day and age though we still adhere to this formula. Obviously things have always been this way, but does that make them right? Times have changed and our goal as humans should be to evolve and learn from our past and the past of others so we could make this world a better place. Why is it a guy who is told he is going to go out and lose and does everything he is told be paid not only less, but much less than said winner over a period of time. Every single performer for WWE sacrifices the same amount of time from home and their families and every single man or women goes out and does what they are told. Looking at this formula though losers turn into what fans like to call jobbers and their value decreases in the companies eyes and before you know it they get released. For what? For doing exactly as they are told!

Why not pay the talent equally? The winners have more MERCH as it is or are supposed to anyways so they get that extra perk, but why make the guy who is told to and agrees to lose earn less and sacrifice spots in big pay per view match ups etc. This is one of the major problems with wrestling and WWE today. Most guys take great satisfaction in helping making other talent, the bitching and the moaning we always hear about stems from the fact they know they are ultimately over time going to make less and live in fear of being released.

I am proud to say I have never gone to change a finish and have gladly took pride in helping put over other talent. Hell look at my pay per view record of 12-26 and you will see that has been the pattern of my career. I have always been confident in my ability and work ethic to being my best every day and ultimately always felt that by doing good it was the right thing to do. Personally seeing my money go down over the years though even though I was working as much as ever and being denied magazine covers and other projects as well as watching my role diminish no matter what I did or how hard I tried takes its toll on a human. Being told no matter how hard I work or how good I get doesn’t always pay off is something I f***ing refuse to ever believe in my life. I am a creative being and to be restricted time and time again is no way to live life. There is nothing I cannot do and I know no matter what comes of this situation I am going to be just fine. It isn’t soley about money, it is about commitment. Commitment to a guy who f***ing cares and who loves this more than anything in the world and wants to know that his passion his efforts and his determination to constantly improve is going to be recognized and taken care of.

WWE may very well release me, which if it is the case so be it. If we can work things out a lot needs to change as I am not living in fear and creatively cannot continue to live a life that limits me creatively. I have many other interests and passions and have been very smart with my finances over the years. I thank every WWE superstar from top to bottom for their sacrifices and for working with me. The world is an amazing place and there is more than just a WWE universe there is The Universe and I will prove one way or another over time I am the greatest big guy in the universe!

I can understand Ryback's frustration to an extent. He has been a champion, been in main events and does sell merchandise. Does he deserve the type of money that a John Cena makes? That remains to be seen. I do think the WWE pay scale should not be based on winners and losers. I think it should be equal where they value you at on the card. I think they're should be lower card pay, mid-card and main event pay.I think whatever category you're in, you should be paid the same amount as everyone in that category.

To Ryback's point every WWE star works the same amount of days, puts in the same amount of effort, and the sacrifice quite a bit. The only reason I see equal pay never happening is because of merchandise sales, buy-rates and ticket sales. How come someone who is selling no merchandise should be paid as someone who is selling a ton of merchandise? That's why WWE and every other sport pays the way they do. My advice to anyone in pro wrestling is if you want to be paid more then you are getting  is work on your character, work on your performance in the ring, and get the fans on your side.

As far as Ryan Reeves goes I am sure he will find work if WWE releases him. I think he would do well in Japan or Ring of Honor. If he wants money then TNA Wrestling is not the place to go right now. The Ryback character got better as time went on. He evolved in the ring, and he had a personal story that a lot of us can relate to it. It's sad to see Ryan Reeves in this situation because the match he had with Kalisto was one of the best of his career. In my opinion he was on an uphill rise with how he was performing in the ring. I hope that WWE and Ryan Reeves come to an agreement so that we will continue to see the evolution of Ryback. Keep checking Hollywood's World of Sports for more on this developing story.

After Wrestlemania there use to be Backlash but over the last few years the backlash formed into some payback. Since Wrestlemania Shane McMahon has been running Raw and defined it as a new era in WWE. Before I begin with my thoughts here are the results of he show:

-Dean Ambrose defeated Chris Jericho
-Charlotte defeated Natalya to retain the Women's Championship in a repeat of the Montreal Screwjob.
-Roman Reigns defeated AJ Styles to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

First off I'd like to send my prayers out to Enzo Amore who took a nasty spill in the opening match of the pay-per-view. The match ended in a no contest but that's besides the point. I hope Enzo is okay and he will come back from this. On a positive note, I absolutely love the heat Ryback got on the kickoff show. All in one entrance he mocked CM Punk, Razor Ramon, Shawn Michaels and Hulk Hogan. What made it better is that it was a great match between Ryback and Kalisto. I also think Corbin and Ziggler had a great match as well. This is a very good feud and it will be a good payoff for Corbin in the long run.

It don't care if he's El Generico or Sami Zayn, because anywhere you go Zayn versus Steen is a moneymaking match. Both men proved why they are top notch competitors and deserve a 20 to 30 minute match. I've always said the best of friends in real life make the best of competitors in the ring. Look at Michaels-Triple and the other members of the Kliq back in the 90's. They always had a good matches and Owens-Zayn is in that same category. Another feud that's been brewing since after Wrestlemania is Cesaro and The Miz. I think having Maryse back is a good thing for The Miz but Cesaro has been on fire since his return. Cesaro and Miz had a good match but somehow Zayn came back out to attack Owens who was on commentary. It almost looks like it's going to set up a fatal four way for the title between The Miz, Cesaro, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. Very good job building a story on WWE's part because I didn;t see any of that coming.

One man who needed Payback is Dean Ambrose. He had a very lackluster match at Wrestlemania and need a great match to get back on track. Jericho and Ambrose had a hell of a match. Sometimes I really think the booking team doesn't know what to do with Dean Ambrose. However if I had it my way Ambrose would be in the hunt for the WWE Title on a consistent basis like he was last summer into the fall. Speaking of superstars who should always be in the title picture, I think after what happen to Natalya tonight she should get the Women's Title after the reenacted the Montreal Screw Job. As always the women put on a great match and I hope the feud between the family dynasties continues.

The Main Event was between WWE World Champion Roman Reigns and number one contender AJ Styles was very intriguing to me because I did not see Styles being in the title picture to soon into his WWE run. What people might not understand is his merchandise is selling hot right now. The WWE is about who can draw and make money. Well AJ Styles has drew people and made money everywhere he goes. The match reminded me of John Cena-CM Punk from Money in the Bank 2011. The crowd was very for Styles and very against Roman Reigns, The main event had a great storytelling, great action and and epic feel to it. Reigns may have won but Styles showed why he had belonged in WWE all a long.

All in all I can't complain. Other then misfortune in the opening match the crowd was hot, the matches were really good and some good stories came out of it. I am really surprised Vince told Steph and Shane to run Raw together. I personally think it's going to make for great TV. A WWE pay-per-view should leave people always wanting more and tonight they accomplished that because I want more of what I saw tonight. I am going to give WWE Payback a solid 8.5 out of 10. In three weeks time we get extreme and we will show if the momentum carries over to WWE Extreme Rules.
