Hollywood's World of Sports Joins ViSalus and the 90 Challenge

I am proud to announce that Hollywood's World of Sports has joined the ViSalus family and the 90 Day Challenge. A lot of people are not familiar to what the 90 Day Challenge is so for those wondering what it is, here is a summary of what it's about.

"This 90 Day Challenge has already helped people lose millions of pounds! There are tens of thousands of people joining each month!

The Body by Vi™ Challenge was created by ViSalus Sciences®, the company behind one of the fastest growing health movements in the world.

ViSalus is challenging the world to set a personal goal and make health a priority for at least 90 days, while awarding the participants with over $25,000,000 a year in free product, prizes and vacations.

Body by Vi was even featured on the latest cover story of Success From Home Magazine, and mentioned in the Wall Street Journal.

This thing is exploding! That is why they gave me this great website to help share the Challenge with others.
Body by Vi Challenge Kits

I love it because it's SIMPLE! It’s as easy as setting a 90 day goal and choosing which of the four ViSalus Body by Vi™ Challenge Kits fits with your goal…then let the products do the rest!

Because each kit centers around the Vi-Shape meal replacement shake, we won't be adding any additional cost to our budgets. We’re simply taking the money we currently spend on eating out and grocery bills and putting it toward a simpler, faster, and much healthier option!

The success stories I have seen so far are amazing!

On top of saving money on food bills, they have a program called Refer 3, Get Your Next Month Free! Simply refer three others to the same or greater Challenge Kit as you, and they'll ship your next kit for free! Maintain 3, and your products are always FREE!

Who do you know right now that may want to lose a few pounds, build some lean muscle, or maybe just focus on their health with you for 90 days? I bet you know more than 3... so you can earn your product for FREE!

The Opportunity
For those who really love promoting the Challenge, ViSalus has created a career path where people can earn spare-time, part-time, or full-time income by simply sharing the Challenge with others. There are over 10 new people a day qualifying for new BMWs just for promoting the Challenge!

10 Years of TNA Impact Wrestling

On June 10th, TNA Impact Wrestling will celebrate its 10th year anniversary with it's pay-per-view Slammiversary. In 2001, WWE bought out rights to WCW making WWE the only global company around.  On May 10th 2002 TNA Wrestling was formed by Jeff and Jerry Jarrett. TNA struggled for the first few years but in after being on Fox Sports Net they were brought to Spike TV on October 1, 2007 where they have been since. A lot of criticism has been thrown at TNA over a 10 year period but they have had some memorable moments and controversial times in the company that made it thrive. Look at the list of people who have held the TNA World Heavyweight title. The list includes Kurt Angle, Sting, Samoa Joe, Mick Foley, AJ Styles, Rob Van Dam, Robert Roode, Mr. Anderson and Jeff Hardy. Before there was the TNA title, there was the NWA-TNA title which was held by the following wrestlers that include Ken Shamrock, Ron Killings, Raven, Rhino, Christian Cage and Abyss. Between the two titles, some very impressive names have held that title.

However many people believe that the X Division has been the heart and soul of the company. Some of the early X Division Champions include Styles, Jerry Lynn, Loki, Syxx-Pac, Kid Kash, Amazing Red, Kazarian, Chris Sabin, and more. The Knockouts and Tag Team division have also been superb throughout the ten year run of TNA. TNA also has had innovative matches like King of the Mountain, Ultimate X, Lethal Lockdown, Ultimate Escape and more.

When I think of TNA I think America's Most Wanted, Samoa Joe, Beer Money, Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, Motor City Machine Guns, and Jeff Jarrett. However the other name that comes to mine is Sting. Sting has been very loyal to TNA Wrestling much like he was loyal to WCW. He is the one big name that has never worked for WWE. Sting has helped TNA reached heights it wouldn't have without him. He also helped the younger guys become bigger stars much like Ric Flair helped him.

There a lot of great moments in the history of TNA Wrestling but this is one that has always stuck out to me.

TNA Slammiversary 10 takes place on June 10th and Hollywood's World of Sports will have coverage on TNA's biggest event in the history of their company. A lot of changes have happened in TNA over it's 10 year history and Slammiversary 10 will be a culmination of all those changes. Stay tuned for coverage on TNA Slammiversary 10.

Message to IRL: Improve Your Safety

Yesterday one of the most famous races took place and the expectations for the race were met with excitement. The common feeling in racing from the general public is that it's not fun to watch unless their is a big wreck.  The problem with Indy Car racing now is that too many bad things are happening. Last year in the last race of the year a tragic accident took the life of Dan Wheldon. The thing that bothers is that nothing has been done to  improve safety. NASCAR learned the hard way when they lost Dale Earnhardt in 2001 at the end of the Daytona 500. Before that Kenny Irwin Jr, and Adam Petty. Just think if something would have been done when Irwin and Petty died. We probably would still have Dale Earnhardt here today.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway alone has had 56 racing deaths. That is just one track. The IRL has  seen a lot of popular drivers leave for NASCAR over the last decade. Some of those include Danica Patrick, Sam Hornish Jr.,  and Tony Stewart. I am sure money had a huge part in them moving over to NASCAR but I think safety played a huge part in their decision to go to NASCAR.

Look at all the improvements NASCAR has made for safety. They require all drivers to wear the HANS device. They also have safer wall barriers which make a crash have a lot less more impact. What has the IRL done? Absolutely nothing. I saw a lot of brutal wrecks yesterday and  I am surprised no on was seriously injured. These cars get absolutely destroyed and no one seems to care.

I honestly think the IRL is becoming irrelevant and the only race that does matter is the Indy 500. The IRL has lost it's star power over the years and it's not getting any better. I truly believe that safety is one of the main reasons why the Indy Racing League has lost so much money and popularity. The only question left is what is it going to take for the IRL to improve it's safety for drivers?

Message to Athletes: Get Your Concussions Checked

On May 18th 2012, I had a freak accident at where I work which resulted with me having a concussion. I have never had a concussion before and didn’t know much about them except for closely following what happen to former WWE star Chris Benoit, and former NFL great Junior Seau. All I knew is from what I saw on the news. When I first hit my head, I did not black out or pass out.  A lot of people assume that if you don’t black out or pass out then you don’t have a concussion.  I was told by three different doctors not to be so ignorant, and that you don’t have to black out or pass out to have a concussion.

Not long after hitting my head, I was starting to feel light headed, nauseas, and got dizzy a few times.  Next thing I knew I was vomiting. These symptoms kept going on throughout the night and into the next day. What I thought to be a really bad headache turned out to be a concussion.  Now I know working in retail is not the same as playing in sports at a high level but a concussion is a concussion.

If you are an athlete or anyone for that matter that has symptoms like these you need to go to your doctor. One thing I have learned from Junior Seau and Chris Benoit is that these concussions should not go untreated. Both men had multiple concussions and look at the end result. I have only had one concussion and one is enough. It temporarily set me back and it’s not something you ever want to experience.

I hope by reading my story and just how something so minor can turn into something so big if you don't get it checked out and treated.  Concussions are starting to play a bigger role in how athletes are treated.  I follow all sports as well as WWE and the standard procedure is that athletes have to pass concussion tests for them to be able to participate again.

Finally,  I urge anyone who has concussion like symptoms to get  them treated so you don't have a tragedy like Chris Benoit and Junior Seau. These are only two of the many people who have suffered from multiple concussions. Do yourself a favor and avoid the same problems others have had and take care yourself so you dont suffer in the long run.

Recap, Review and results of WWE Over the Limit 2012

When people look back on the WWE Over the Limit 2012, one match will be remembered. The under-card was good, the main event was comical but CM Punk and Daniel Bryan put the meaning back into what a WWE Championship match is suppose to be. Pure wrestling, high risk maneuvers, and use any move you possibly can to wear down your opponent. Both men did just that. CM Punk won with a roll-up counter to the Yes Lock but Punk started tapping out after the three count which means this feud is far from over. The fans were solidly behind both men and behind the match itself. At one point they were chanting "this is awesome!" The match was indeed awesome and I really hope WWE is smart with this feud and continues with it because Punk and Bryan are both great wrestlers and deserve to spotlight on them right now. Punk is currently on a 6 month title reign and he's had great matches with everyone he's been in the ring with. Punk's title reign is one of the most significant one in a long time. With that being said Punk and Bryan need to be the main focus of the WWE Title scene through the summer and have some classic matches.

Speaking of classic matches, I have to give the fatal four way World Championship match some props. Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, Randy Orton and Chris Jericho all had great outings last night and it made for a chaotic match. However made this decision to book this match made the right call because I honestly don't think Del Rio vs. Sheamus would have matched well with the Punk-Bryan match. In the end, through all the punishment Sheamus retains the title and continues his momentum as champion.

If we are talking about title matches, the Intercontinental Championship match was nothing to look away from either. Christian won a 20 man Battle Royal earlier in the night to have his choice at an Intercontinental or United States title match. He chose to face Cody Rhodes and both put on a great match. I think this could be a great rivalry and after Christian won the Intercontinental Championship I am sure we will see another match between both of these men.

The Main Event of the evening was comical, and predictable. John Laurinaitis took on John Cena. Cena had his fun, and roughed up Big Johnny but in the end the Big Show KO'd John Cena allowing Big Johnny to win the match and keep his job. The match was everything I thought it would be but it my opinion it shouldn't have been the main event. I felt one of the title matches should have been the main event.

Other results include:
-WWE Divas Champion Layla def. Beth Phoenix
-Brodus Clay def. The Miz
-Kane def. Zack Ryder
-WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston & R-Truth def. Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger
-Ryback defeated Camacho

Over the Limit was a good solid pay-per-view but I wouldn't say it was great or epic. Extreme Rules was very hard to follow but the three title matches I talked about made the show flow. I would give Over the Limit a 7 out of 10. The three big title matches were the key to this pay-per-view and I would stay tuned for more as WWE builds on what they did the last two pay-per-views. The show may have been called Over the Limit, but these storylines and feuds haven't reached their limits yet.

The Roger Clemens Trial: Waste of Time and Money

Is Clemens really telling the truth?
The Roger Clemens perjury trial has been going on for weeks now and has been a couple of years in the making. This all started on August 19, 2001 when a federal grand jury in the Washington, D.C U.S. District Court indicted Clemens on six felony counts involving perjury, false statements and obstruction of Congress. Clemens was one of many people who went infront of Congress to talk about steroids along with Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, Rafael Palmerio, Curt Schilling and Jose Canseco. This was all started in 2005 when Canseco wrote his book  Juiced: Wild Times, Rampant 'Roids, Smash Hits & How Baseball Got Big. He mentions  Mark McGwireJuan GonzálezRafael PalmeiroIvan Rodriguez, and Jason Giambi in the book as steroid users. Many of these players will never be in the hall of fame due to these allegations and findings.  A lot of people accused Canseco of lying about all of this because he was blackballed by baseball as being the first one to be caught using steroids.

Clemens problems started when his former trainer Brian McNamee testified that he supplied and helped Clemens take steroids along with Clemens former Yankee teammate Andy Pettitte. Pettitte has testified in Clemens trial but his testimony has been thrown out because it's misleading and conflicting. McNamee and Clemens have been going back and forth for two years now and I have a couple of questions on this whole trial.

The first question I have is why isn't Brian McNamee on trial? He supplied and injected multiple players with steroids. His crime is just as bad, if not worst the Clemens. Why aren't McGwire and Palmeiro under the same trial? They lied under oath the same time Clemens did. Why even have a trial? That question brings me to my next point.

Why didn't the government learn from the Barry Bonds trial? Nobody cares that athletes lied about steroid use. This has been proven because Bonds was only convicted of one charge and it was a minor one. Not even the jurors of the Clemens trial care because two of them have been kicked out for falling asleep. The Federal government is wasting millions of dollars on nothing. They need to focus on real criminals and not athletes who lie to protect their ego. All together their have been over 100 players linked to use of steroids in terms of implications, admittance, Mitchell Report and suspensions by baseball. To view this list go to http://www.baseballssteroidera.com/bse-list-steroid-hgh-users-baseball.html

Roger Clemens like many others didn't need to use steroids because they were already naturally gifted athletes. Steroids do not improve pitch speed, bat speed or increase power. They don't make you perform better but if it's illegal, it's illegal. Roger Clemens has a record  of 354–184 with 4,672 strikeouts and a lifetime era of 3.12. He won two World Series, a seven time CY Young winner, and AL MVP winner. The question you have to ask is, did steroids help Clemens accomplish all of this? My answer is most definitely not. Clemens was naturally gifted from the start but because of steroids he along with others will more then likely not make the Hall of Fame because baseball traditionalists will not vote for them.

Finally, if the government is going conduct a trial for Clemens and waste money then why not conduct a trial with all the steroid users at the same time. The government should be using this money on the poor, the economy, lowering gas prices, and helping the country survive. I am not a believer in steroids and I dont support the use of them but they wasted millions on trying to convict Barry Bonds and now they are doing the same to Clemens. It's a simple of waste of money just to pay the employees of the Federal government.

Clemens is great, and will always be great in the eyes of his fans. Clemens is one of the greatest pitchers of all time and his accomplishments will not be totally forgotten even if he did take steroids. Keep checking back for more on this trial and the outcome. Will Clemens be the first athlete to be convicted of lying about steroid use or will he get off like Barry Bonds did? Stay tuned to find out.

Is Junior Seau Another Chris Benoit Story?

On June 24, 2007 WWE superstar Chris Benoit took the lives of his wife and son Daniel which sent shock-waves all over professional wrestling. Everyone from Nancy Grace, Marc Mero and other anti-WWE people who had beef with the company were screaming steroids, roid rage and things of that nature.

However after many months of testing it was concluded that Benoit severely damaged his brain that it resembled the brain of an 85-year-old person with Alzheimer's. It also showed he had an advanced form of dementia, These same results were found in four former NFL players who had multiple concussions during their NFL career. Studies have proved that trauma like this can lead to severe behavioral problems as well. Benoit's death changed WWE standards for drug testing and wrestlers health. WWE will make wrestlers stay out of action until their concussions have healed. They also have a strict drug testing policy in which if a performer fails they are suspended without pay. They also pay for all past and present superstar to entire rehab and treatments center if they so desire. WWE has changed so much in the last five years to protect it's performers but have other sports

Fast forward nearly five years later on May 2, 2012 and news broke that former NFL Linebacker Junior Seau was found dead which was caused by a gunshot wound to the chest. Investigators are treating it as a suicide and that concussions may caused brain damage which may have led to depression. Seau did have multiple injuries in his career and was also involved in a major car accident years ago.

One question that needs to be answered now and that is, is the NFL doing enough to look after players past and present and their safety. From all the legal battles with former players and their health one has to wonder if the NFL is what WWE use to be. People will say their is no comparison because one is a sport and the other is entertainment but they are both physical and can wear your body down to nothing like has a lot of them.

The one sad thing that came out of both tragedies is that no one saw them coming. If Seau was depressed or acting differently no one has said so. People within WWE knew something was wrong the weekend Benoit killed his family and himself but didn't think that it would be that. The only difference between Benoit and Seau is that Seau didn't take anyone else's life except his. One has to wonder if Seau will ever be looked at the same again. For Benoit, it's like he never existed in WWE and there has been no mention of his name in 5 years.

I have often noticed when a pro athlete and pro wrestlers career is over, a lot of them have a hard time dealing with life after the spotlight is off them. They get into drugs, alcohol, commit crimes and sometimes take their own life leaving many with unanswered questions

With that being said, I think professional organizations such as WWE, NFL and others should create programs that assist retired athletes to keep them productive in society. So many lives could have been saved if they were productive in society. Countless lives could have been saved if more testing were done on these athletes to make sure they are fully able to play.

No one will ever know if Benoit and Seau's lives would have been saved if more testing and more measures were taken to keep their health a main priority. I hope this is a wake up call to all professional sports organizations to take better care of their athletes and hopefully more lives will be saved and players past and present have their health taken care of. In the end, I don't think that's asking a whole lot. Let's learn from the past, and work on taking of the future.

Remembering Junior Seau

Today was a shocking day in the world of sports. Junior Seau was found dead by his girlfriend which apparently was caused by a self inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. I have always seen Junior Seau as an outgoing and stand up guy.

Seau was drafted number 5 overall in 1990 by the San Diego Chargers after playing at USC in College. He is considered the progenitor of the "USC-NFL linebacker" group which includes Richard Wood, Jack Del Rio, Willie McGinest, Chris Claiborne, Lofa Tatupu, Thomas Williams, Oscar Lua,Dallas Sartz, Keith Rivers, Brian Cushing, Kaluka Maiava, Clay Matthews III and Rey Maualuga. He also played with Miami Dolphins, and New England Patriots. He is considered one of the greatest linebackers of all time and the numbers back it up. During his career he had 18 interceptions, 56.5 sacks and 1849 tackles. Junior always achieved many things and has many awards. Here are some of the highlights of Junior Seau's NFL career.

-12 time Pro Bowler
-10 time All-Pro
-2 time AFC Champion
-UPI AFC Defensive Player of the Year
-NEA NFL Defensive Player of the Year
-AFC Player of the Year
-NFL Alumni Linebacker of the Year
-NFL 1990s All-Decade Team
-San Diego Chargers Hall of Fame
-San Diego Chargers 50th Anniversary Team

The circumstances surrounding Junior Seau's death are being investigated. I am just at a total lost for words about why and how this could have happened. What led to this? Was there any signs of trouble? I hope all these questions are answered. This was not just a great football player, he was a great man who did a lot of charity work including starting the Junior Seau Foundation and worked with the Samoan "sister city" projects in San Diego county. He also was on his own TV show called  Sports Jobs with Junior Seau which was a very intriguing.

No matter how he died, how things ended his contributions to the game of football and his community will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers go out to Junior Seau's family. R.I.P. #55 Junior Seau.
