A Dream Come True

This past Sunday a lifelong dream of mine came true and even if it was a one time deal it was worth it because it was single greatest moment of my life other then the day I walked out of the hospital after having open heart surgery. I always wanted to be in the wrestling business no matter what it took. My options however were limited because of my heart disease and other problems that came along with it. I first got into pro wrestling when my aunts and uncles got me watching it. I was mesmerized by Hulk Hogan and became a Hulkamaniac for life. In 1998, I met my best friend and the guy I managed this past Sunday, Adam Johnson who now known as Noah Lott.

Over the last five years, I have made my share of mistakes. I said things when I shouldn't have and some people criticize me for being partial to Noah Lott and being a "mark." First off I am no mark, I know more about the history of pro wrestling in the last 20 years then most of the fans and some wrestlers out there. I don't know much about the business behind the scenes but in terms of WWE, WCW, ECW, NWA, etc. I know quite a bit. If you saw my video collection you'd be amazed.

In five years, no one gave Hollywood Joe Williamson a chance but a guy by the name of Scotty Z did. He had faith in me when no one else did and trusted me when others thought I didn't belong. When I came out with Noah Lott this past a feeling came over like no other, I was like a little kid in a candy story. My family was there and that made it all the more special for me. It's the single greatest feeling ever when my name was on the intercom. I owe this past Sunday to Scotty Z. and to another. and that is the Lord Almighty for putting people like Scotty Z and Noah Lott in my life. They have taught me a lot about this business that we call pro wrestling and have shown me what and what not to do.

Lastly I will say this; I come off partial to Noah Lott for one reason and it the obvious because he is my best friend. Adam Johnson has been there for me through every surgery, when my two of my neighbors died, and through all my struggles. He's also doing what no one in Wayland thought he could and those who criticized me for supporting him. I will say this; although I may come off partial I do respect anyone and everyone who calls themselves a professional wrestler. Thank you all for your support and remember dreams do come true.

Detroit Sports Update, and WWE Judgment Day Thoughts

So we are in the process of seeing a possibility of two championships in this state. One being more likely then the other. I really think the Red Wings will win the Stanley Cup. Pretty Boy Sidney Crosby doesn't know what he's in for. He's going to get wrecked by Detroit. It seems like the Penguins are playing dirty this season trying to send a messege but they don't want to go there with Detroit. I say it's done in five.

Now on to the Pistons and Celtics. The series started last night and Boston beat them. The score looked close but Detroit was out played by the Celtics last night. I do think this will go a seven game series with whoever winning this one will win it all. I am interested to see how tempers my boil and fights my start in this series. This is the real finals right here, much like New England and Indianapolas Colts when they play. Should be a good series.

Judgment Day was this past week, and I thought it was decent. I can't complain but I will say that the main event did not live up and that sucks because it was Triple H and Orton, in a steel cage. No blood, no drama, and none of the elements a cage match should have. Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho had a classic match which is no surprise to anyone. It was very enjoyable to watch, and I am looking foward to when they meet again.

ECW/Smackdown Tapings

So it was day two of my WWE Michigan tour. And unfortunately again, Noah Lott did not get a match. It was understandable because there is a PPV sunday and they are trying to build the matches up and storylines. Fair enough I suppose. However, it was not a total let down. I got to see some great matches. Like Matt Hardy vs. Shelton Benjimen, Finlay/Big Show vs. MVP/Mark Henry and CM Punk wrestled twice. It was a good time. Undertakers awe-inspiring enterence gave me the chills. It's something thats so awesome you have to experience it live. I enjoyed my night at Van Andel but what happened afterwards is what was really cool.

Noah Lott and I went to Hooters after the show, and about 20 minutes later in walks the following people: John Morrison, The Miz, Shannon Moore, Elijah Burke, Kofi Kingston, Hawkins/Ryder, Jesse, Festus, Chavo Guerrero, Bam Neely, Colin Delany, Kelly Kelly, Eve, Victoria, Cherry, Ted Dibiase Jr., Tommy Dreamer, Mike Knox, Nunzio, Matt Stryker, and my favorite Matt Hardy. They were out celebrating Jimmy Wang Yang's birthday. I eventually got my picture with Kelly Kelly and Matt Hardy. Both are very down the earth and nice. It was a night I will not soon forget. It was totally awesome.

So the last two days have worn me out and it's not time back to reality and my regular blogging controversies. Have a safe weekend all. God Bless

Monday Night Raw and more

Last night I was down in D-town for Monday Night Raw. I rode down there with my good friend Noah Lott who happened to be backstage at the event. I got a ticket at the last minute and I am glad I did. All I can say is what a great show. Even though Noah Lott or any of the other local indy guys didn't get a chance to wrestle it was still a great show and I heard some stories on the ride home. My favorite part of the night is when Mr. Kennedy cut his promo. That was funnier then hell. Also Jeff Hardy and Umaga had a terrific match in Jeffs return after his 60-day suspension. But the thing that topped it for was the match that happened when Raw went off the air. It was Shawn Michaels, Triple H otherwise known as DX teamed with John Cena against Umaga, JBL and Randy Orton. Awesome match with some posing by the good guys at the end. Overall a good show. Tonight is Smackdown/ECW at Van Andel Arena. Oh how I am looking foward to that. I can't wait.

Speaking of Detroit though, how about them Pistons and Red Wings. Both are up in their respective series. Now if we could just get the Tigers going, it would be a kick-ass sports town more then it already is. Detroit is a pretty cool town. I hung out at MGM Grand Casino for a few hours yesterday, and it was awesome. Really had a nice time in Detroit. Thoughts on POG Flashback

On May 4, I was fortunate enough to ride down to Coldwater to see POG Flashback, a reunion of guys from their original roster. It was great to see BAM, Fabuzio, Andrewski, Desmond Dukes and the return of Rastakhan. Even though Jack Thriller, Johnny Dynamo, and CJ Otis were not there the show was still one of the best shows I have seen. The show started out with Desmond Dukes returning to take on Louis Linden. It was a great match to start off the show with Louis getting the victory. The second match saw the return of Mental Insanity who was surprised by The Hype Jimmy Shawlin and got the beatdown of his life. The Hype and his former long time tag-team partner Gameboy Max Morisson will facing each other in a odd but exciting match at POG's June show Faded Glory 3.

The next match saw "the ladies man" Chip Daley come out and challange any man in the back. Fortunately it wasn't a man, it was one of coolest people in the world, Sybil Starr. Unfortunately for Chip he got beat by a woman, but considering it's Sybil there's no shame. The only tag team match of the night was between Ringside Revue and the former tag team of the Big Andrewski and Fabuzio, the West Coast Playa's. It was a good match with lots of humor by Creme and Starr as always. The Revue retained their titles.

Finally after all that humor, out came Bryan Skyline for his match. Low and behold a familiar song played in the background. Out came Mick Veasy, who at first I thought was going to wrestle. He then turned around and brought out Noah Lott. These two guys go back a long ways from their days in the Perfection Connection with $Dollar$. This was one of the most competitive matches I have ever seen along with Dukes/Linden and Bam/Able who also wrestled one the show. This match won the fans over and these two guys have found mutual respect for each other. Like the fans said, "This match was awesome."

Next was the Battle Royal with the surprise return of the Angry Jamician, Rastakhan. It was a fun match and yes the big Rastamania won the match, and made his impact felt once again. Now it was time for the Main Event, the former MWA/POG Grand Champion Bam took on current POG Heavyweight Champion Christian Able. This match was indeed great. Bam hasn't wrestled in two years. He walked in, never thinking he was gone. Able punished him but Bam kept coming back. Eventually Christian Able proved to be too much for Bam, and retained his title. However after the match he took a cheapshot at BAM and called out CJ Otis who will return to the ring next show Double Impact.

It was great being there. I enjoyed talking to BAM, Andrewski, Rastakhan, and Fabuzio. It was also great talking to some of the new POG guys like Keith Creme and The Hype Jimmy Shalwin. All of these guys are just wonderful to talk to. Oh and I can't forget the lovely lady Sybil Starr. I had a really nice conversation with her as well. I cannot wait until Double Impact on May 25th. Week in Detroit Sports and more

So I am not talking about the Twins series because that would only dampen the mood for Detroit. However the Detroit Tigers did manager to sweep the Yankees in New York for the first time since 1966. Good stuff I tell you, I hate the Yankees. All of them guys are overpaid. Then also this week, the Red Wings tore it up. They killed the Colorado Avalance. I think that they are now the team to beat in the playoffs. If they do not win the championship then their is something wrong with that scenario. Go Wings. Then you have the almighty Detroit Pistons who finally got passed the 76ers. Thought it was going to rough at first but i guess not. I do believe you will see Detroit in the Finals ecspecially considering the Celtics barely got by the Hawks. Only time will tell.

On a couple of personal notes. I finished 37th out 850 bowlers in the Grand Rapids City Tournament that took place these past couple of months. Not brag but I am pretty damn proud of myself. I never thought I could do that good. I am already looking foward to next year.
