Final Card for Wrestlemania 28

This Sunday is the showcase of the immortals, the grandest stage and the grandaddy of them all. It's Wrestlemania 28 and the road has finally led us to one of the biggest Wrestlemania's in history which takes place in Miami Florida. We have the main event one year in the making. Then we have the end of an era and two champions who worked their way up through the independent scene to make it to the big show.  Wrestlemania 28 has the potential to be one of the greatest Wrestlemania's of all time. 8 matches, three with titles on the line. You can't ask for much more in this year's Wrestlemania. Here is the final card for Wrestlemania 28.

The only time we've seen Rock vs. Brock is at Sumermslam 2002

It's not even Wrestlemania 28 yet and already rumors are swirling about Wrestlemania 29. The Rock was recently interviewed by AP writer Dan Gelston and was asked about a possible match with Brock Lesnar. His response was "I'm not saying a thing," said a laughing, grinning Rock, eyebrow raised."I didn't say anything." With that response one has to wonder if this is actually going to happen. Other reports suggest that the Main Event of next years Mania will be announced the night after Wrestlemania 28 because WWE is thinking it will be one of the highest rated Raws in the history of the show. Brock Lesnar has been rumored multiple times in the last two years to be returning to the WWE but could it actually happen? One can only speculate at this point.

The Beer Drinking Rebel vs. The Straightedge Superstar.

The other big match that was rumored for this year is CM Punk vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin but now reports are saying that the match could take place next year. One report that went out was saying WWE was looking to have The Undertaker, Triple H, The Rock, John Cena and Stone Cold to headline Wrestlemania 29.

Austin has been open to wrestling one more match but hasn't committed to anything yet. It is no secret that Punk has a lot of admiration and respect for Steve Austin and wrestling a legend like Stone Cold would do a lot to further Punk's legendary status. Punk vs. Jericho will add to his legendary status but facing Austin would put him over the top.

With Wrestlemania 28 expected to have huge success they will look to capitalize on that and build towards Wrestlemania 29.  Wrestlemania 29 will take place April 7, 2013 and will be held at Metlife Stadium which is the home of the NFL's New York Giants and New York Jets.

NFL Off-Season Moves as of 3/21/2012

Well things are heating up in the NFL's off-season with a lot of trades, signings and more. This is the time where teams start to think about what they want their team to look like for the following season. Here is a recap of the last two weeks.

-Atlanta Falcons agreed to terms with LB Lofa.
-New York Jets agreed to terms with NT Sione Pouha on a three-year contract. Also signed QB Drew Stanton to a one-year contract.
-Washington Redskins signed WR Pierre Garcon. Also signed S Brandon Meriweather to a two-year contract.
-Tampa Bay Buccanneers signed G Carl Nicks and CB Eric Wright to five-year contracts.

-Miami Dolphins traded WR Brandon Marshall to Chicago for two undisclosed draft picks. Also signed QB David Garrard to a one-year contract.

-Kansas City Chiefs signed RB Peyton Hillis. Also signed QB Brady Quinn and OT Eric Winston.

-Jacksonville Jaguars signed QB Chad Henne to a two-year contract.

-Buffalo Bills agreed to terms with DE Mario Williams on a six-year contract.

-San Francisco 49ers agreed to terms with WR Mario Manningham on a two-year contract.

-Seattle Seahawks Agreed to terms with QB Matt Flynn on a three-year contract.

-San Diego Chargers Agreed to terms with TE Dante Rosario on a one-year contract.

-Pittsburgh Steelers announced the retirement of WR Hines Ward.
-Denver Broncos Signed QB Peyton Manning to a five-year contract. Also traded QB Tim Tebow and a 2012 seventh-round draft pick to the N.Y. Jets for 2012 fourth- and sixth-round draft picks.

So as you can see the NFL off-season is starting to pick up and I am sure their will be much more to come. Check back in another couple of weeks to get the latest recap of important moves in the NFL. 

Keselowski Wins Through the Chaos at Bristol

Brad Keselowski grabbed his first win of the season Sunday, holding off Matt Kenseth on a late restart to win at Bristol Motor Speedway. Keselowski led a career-best and race-high 231 laps, but battled back and forth with Kenseth for the final third of the race. Kenseth beat him on an earlier restart, and Keselowski had to chase him down to reclaim the lead. Then a late caution when Tony Stewart hit the wall put Keselowski's and Kenseth side by sise for the restart. "I've got no clue what to do here,'' he radioed his Penske Racing team. Crew chief Paul Wolfe left him on the track, where he had to hold of Kenseth, on the restart with 17 laps to go. Keselowski had no problems holding him off, choosing to restart on the outside, and he easily pulled away for the victory. Keselowski cruised his Dodge to Victory Lane and immediately began taking pictures with his phone to post to Twitter. "Matt didn't make it easy,'' Keselowski said. "That's his job, to not make it easy on me. He raced me hard; I raced him hard, rubbed a little bit. That's good racing.''

Kenseth, the Daytona 500 winner, settled for second in a Roush Fenway Racing Ford and wasn't sure if Keselowski electing to restart on the outside was the difference."If I'd have been on the top, maybe I could have pinned him down there,'' Kenseth said. "But on old tires, I knew he was going to choose the top." The three Toyotas from Michael Waltrip Racing capped an impressive day by rounding out the top five, that marked a strong return to racing for Brian Vickers. Martin Truex Jr. led the MWR contingent with a third-place finish and was followed by Bowyer and Vickers, who ran his first race of the season. Out of work since Red Bull Racing closed at the end of last season, Vickers was retained last week to run six of the races that MWR driver Mark Martin sits out this season. He had a strong debut race, leading a career-high 125 laps. In 14 previous races at Bristol, Vickers had led only one lap, never finished in the top 10 and ended on the lead lap only four times.

Jeff Burton was sixth in a Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing and was followed by Earnhardt Ganassi Racing teammates Jamie McMurray and Juan Pablo Montoya. Jimmie Johnson finished ninth in what is likely his last race for some time with crew chief Chad Knaus. Hendrick Motorsports goes before NASCAR's chief appellate officer Tuesday, trying to get Knaus' six-race suspension overturned. NASCAR punished Knaus and the team because their Chevrolet failed the opening day inspection at last month's Daytona 500. Paul Menard and Kevin Harvick finished 10th and 11th to give RCR three cars in the top 11. Harvick managed to pull off the finish despite being in a seven-car accident 24 laps into the race. The accident was caused when Kasey Kahne ran into Regan Smith after passing him, and it continued the horrendous start to the season Kahne is having with Hendrick Motorsports. He finished 37th, and through four races Kahne is 32nd in points. The accident also took out Kyle Bush, Carl Edwards and Marcose Ambrose from compitition.

Bring Back John Cena: Basis Thuganomics Version

When it comes to John Cena and the last eight years there hasn't been much to cheer about. This past Monday we got to see first hand why so many people loved him but now dislike him tremendously. Cena made his WWE debut in 2004 with nothing but a blue collar work ethic and a good look. It was in late 2002 into early 2003 where we started hearing terms like Basic Thuganomics, Word Life, and many unique catchphrases.

The John Cena that came out on a weekly basis was a brash, trash talking, and rebellious superstar. He didn't care who he insulted or how bad it was. His freestyle raps were what got his feuds over and got him to the top within a two year span.

When he won the WWE Championship in 2005, he slowly dropped the Basic Thuganomics gimmick and became a corporate puppet for WWE. Now a days its all about Hustle, Loyalty and Respect. Then there is Rise Above Hate. These are all great messages but they don't belong with John Cena. I am also bothered by the fact he salutes the crowd like he's in the Armed Forces. He's not a Marine, he's not a soldier and he's a Navy Seal. He is John Cena, a great freestyle rapper on the mic with a great worth ethic. John Cena is not the fanciest wrestler or even has the most technical skill. However when he was doing Basic Thuganomics it didn't matter what his in ring work was like because people embraced him. People embraced him this past Monday when he came out to his old music, old look and old attitude.

I truly believe if John Cena wants to get back to the height and prime of his popularity WWE has to let him go back to the old ways. I believe the Cena we saw on Monday is who he really is. I've often noticed when WWE lets a superstar have some say in what they do they end up being a megastar. Some examples I can give are The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, CM Punk, and Triple. None of these stars were handed ridiculous and cheesy gimmicks. They were given once chance to be themselves and let their mic  skills and in ring work do the talking.

So I say to John Cena and WWE, bring back Basic Thuganomics, the Chain-gang and all the things we once loved about John Cena.

Note to John Elway: Make Up Your Mind on Tebow

This past weekend it was reported that Peyton Manning met with John Elway and the Denver Broncos. The rumors floating around now are that the Broncos are pursuing Manning and if they sign him they will trade away Tim Tebow. I have always respected Elway the football player and Quarterback who has a lot of legendary moments. However John Elway the business man is very shady and unsure of himself.

This past football season, all we heard about was one week Elway loves Tebow, and then the next week Elway wants to get rid of Tebow. This back and forth didn't help matters when the media covered Tebow. It added a lot fuel to the fire. In all fairness Tim Tebow did bring the Broncos to the playoffs and won a first round playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. I have always said that just because you're successful on the field doesn't mean you will be in the front office. Matt Millen running the Detroit Lions was a prime example of that.

My message to Elway is this. If you are going to keep Tebow then keep him and let him continue to improve his game so he can keep bringing your team to the playoffs. If you're going to get rid of him like you've suggested already then please be fair to the Denver Bronco fans and Tim Tebow and let him go. I am sure the fans of the Denver Broncos don't want to hear you go back and forth every week on if he is the future or not.

So please let the 2012 NFL be less filled with Elway and Tebow talk and more about what's going on the field. Elway be smart, and make a decision on this and stick by it. Nobody wants to keep your approval or disapproval of one person. It's a team game and a team effort so either put up or shut up.

Luck Pays Out for Stewart at Las Vegas

Tony Stewart dominated the field on restarts and held off Jimmie Johnson to win Sunday's Kobalt Tools 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. One year ago, Stewart appeared set to end his Victory Lane drought at the track, one of three he has not yet won on in the Sprint Cup Series but a late-race pit road penalty slowed his charge.

Not on Sunday. He took the lead for the first time on Lap 134 and other than during green-flag pit stops, held close to the front. Greg Biffle finished third, Ryan Newman fourth and Carl Edwards fifth. Dale Earnhardt Jr. got off to a strong start, leading 70 of the first 73 laps. That's more laps than he led in all of last season (52). David Reutimann blew his engine on Lap 74 to bring out the second caution of the race. While most lead-lap cars pit for two tires and fuel, several, including Earnhardt, took four tires. On the restart on Lap 78, Kevin Harvick held the lead while Earnhardt was far back in the field at 18th.

Matt Kenseth quickly passed Harvick for the lead on Lap 78. Kenseth led for 21 laps until Johnson, who started the race in a backup car, passed him for the lead on Lap 99. A round of green-flag pit stops started on Lap 112 and just as they were coming to an end, Travis Kvapil's engine blew up, bringing out the third caution of the race. On the restart on Lap 134, Johnson retained the lead followed by Tony Stewart and Kenseth. Stewart quickly passed Johnson on the restart for the lead. With 100 of 267 laps remaining, Stewart held a sizable lead followed by Johnson and Kenseth. Another round of green-flag stops began on Lap 172. When they were completed on Lap 179, Stewart continued to lead followed by Johnson and Kenseth.

Debris on the track brought out a caution on Lap 205. All of the lead lap cars pit for fuel and tires with Stewart retaining the lead on the restart on Lap 210. He was followed by Earnhardt, Jamie McMurray Ryan Newman and Kenseth. With 40 laps remaining, Kenseth had moved into second behind Stewart. Debris on the frontstretch brought out another caution on Lap 229. All lead lap cars pit under the yellow — many for just fuel. Clint Bowyer and Brad Keselowski elected not to pit and took over the lead on the restart on Lap 234. Stewart was third, Kenseth fourth and Greg Biffle fifth. Less than half a lap after the restart, Stewart dived to the bottom of the track and moved from third to first in a daring move.

Landon Cassill's engine blew up on Lap 245, bringing out the sixth caution of the race. Most of the lead lap cars elected not to pit. On the restart on Lap 259, Stewart continued to lead. Kyle Busch spun on Lap 260 to bring out the eighth caution. On the restart on Lap 264, Stewart continued to lead followed by Johnson. Johnson made a run at Stewart with four laps left, but couldn't get around him or get close again. Johnson finished second after starting at the back of the field in a backup car.
