Road Warriors in the WWE Hall of Fame

Before I begin let me just say this. It's about time because if anyone or any tag team ever deserved to be in the WWE Hall of Fame it's these two guys. Hawk and Animal made their debut in 1983. They hit the AWA in 1984 and moved to the NWA in 1986. Along the way the fueded with The Freebirds, Four Horsemen, The Koloffs and The Midnight Express. The Road Warriors left in 1990 and finally made it to where thet always wanted be.

In 1990 the made their debut in WWE wrestling tag teams like Demolition, Hart Foundation, The Rockers, Natural Disasters, and Money Inc. They won the WWE Tag Team titles at Summerslam 1991 against the Nasty Boys. It was their crowning moment winning those titles in Madison Square Garden. In 1992, Hawk suffered an injury and the Road Warriors departed WWE.

They returned to WCW in 1996 and feueded with Harlem Heat and the Steiner Brothers. They stayed in WCW for about 6 months and had a contract dispute with management which ended them in leaving. In 1997 the returned to WWE in which the feuded with the Headbangers, the new Hart Foundation, The Godwinns, and the New Age Outlaws. Then finally in 1999 they were let go from WWE.

In 2003, Hawk passed away and the legendary team was no more. Hawk had overcome personal demons and became a born again Christian. Animal continued the Road Warrior legacy and tradition but it was never quite the same. The Road Warriors won titles in every major promotion.

This is well deserved and it's totally great to see the greatest tag team of all time to finally have their rightful place in the Hall of Fame. All I can say is What A Rush!

UFC Fight Night Results

Last night was UFC Fight Night from Seattle and it had some decent fights and a few surprises. Here are the results from last night's TV card.

-Featherweight bout: Leonard Garcia vs. Chan Sung Jung
Jung defeated Garcia by submission (twister) at 4:59 of round 2.
-Welterweight bout: Amir Sadollah vs. DaMarques Johnson
Sadollah defeated Johnson by submission (strikes) at 3:27 of round 2.
-Welterweight bout: Dan Hardy vs. Anthony Johnson
Johnson defeated Hardy by unanimous decision (30–27, 30–27, 30–27).
-Light Heavyweight bout: Antônio Rogério Nogueira vs. Phil Davis
Davis defeated Nogueira by unanimous decision (30–27, 30–27, 30–27).

I was really surprised that Little Nog lost and I was impressed with Anthony Johnson taking out Dan Hardy in the way he did. My favorite part of the night was when Chan Sung Jung pulled off a submission called the twister. It's the first time it's ever been done in the UFC. I for one was shocked to see how painful it really was. With that submission he won Submission of the Night. Jung definitely won me over with that performance last night. It was good stuff and it made for a good night of TV because it was a boring night for TV otherwise.

Good showing by the UFC and the next time they will be back on Spike is June 4th for The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale. The main event of the evening is going to be Anthony Pettis vs. Clay Guida which be a great fight. Stay tuned for more.

Road to Wrestlemania: Week 8

This week on the Road to Wrestlemania, Triple H kicked off Raw by inviting The Undetaker to meet him next week. This match is going to be one of the greatest wrestling matches in the history of pro wrestling. The end of an era will happen when these two meet because these two have been in WWE fo so long and their the last of their era.

Not a lot happening this week in terms of build up except Michael Cole and Jack Swagger beating up on Jerry Lawler again. Also Dolph Ziggler, Vickie Guerrero and Lay-Cool defeated John Morrison andTrish Stratus in a 4-on-2 Handicap Intergender Tag Team Match. I love seeing Trish back because she was the heart and soul of the divas for a long time. The show ended with John Cena confronting The Miz and taking out Alex Riley once again.

On Smackdown, Wade Barrett defeated Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston to become new Intercontinental Champion in a really good match which I think is going to setup Kofi helping Kane and Big Show in someway.

World Heavyweight Champion Edge defeated Drew McIntyre in a Non-Title Match. After the match Edge went nuts probably thinking that McIntyre was Del Rio. That was not the last we saw of Edge either. He accompanied Christian in his match where he defeated Del Rio. Edge was going to attack Del Rio but Christian stopped him and did himself that way Edge wouldnt be banned from Wrestlemania. Thats how the show ended.

Quit Whining and Give Me Football!

So the NFL lockout is the biggest epic fail of the year. I don’t understand what the big deal is. They are a bunch of multimillionaires fighting over even more money. So here’s how I think it should go down. Remember this is just my opinion.

So they are fighting over roughly nine billion dollars, right? (If I only had the problem of having nine billion dollars and not know what to do with it!)They want a salary cap and who knows what all else, I’ve lost track! First of all, no offense to any players out there, but I don’t understand why they need millions of dollars to play a game. (This goes for ANY sport). So you are putting your life/health on the line to do something you love…guess what so do the soldiers defending our country, police officers, fire fighters, etc and they don’t get millions of dollars, some of them barely make it on what they do make, they are “on” 24/7, and not just practicing for one day a week. Put a salary cap on EVERYONE, not just the rookies and whoever the hell else they want to cap, do it across the board. Give each player a couple million a season, some damn good health insurance, for current and former players, use the money to keep up the stadiums, pay the middle class workers to keep the place going (groundskeepers, concession, ticket takers, etc) and lower the price of the damn tickets!!!

The owners pay millions to have a football team, I get that, but what I don’t get is why they won’t spend millions of dollars to keep their team in a good stadium, pay the players and all the other people behind the scenes and make it affordable for fans in order to make their investment worth it.

With the state our country is in and almost everyone else in this country, living paycheck to paycheck, excuse me for not feeling sorry because you don’t get your millions of dollars for one day of actual work. If you want to make more money, take the couple million you get from playing football, be good at it and get endorsement deals to make up for what you think you need. Don’t make the fans suffer with no season over something as stupid as money.

I read yesterday that the Packers can’t even get their rings! Being a Packers fan, that pisses me off! They worked their asses off all season, won the Super Bowl and because the owners and the players union are having a hissy fit, they don’t get their rings! Come on!

Get over yourselves, do what’s right for the fans who are the ones who actually pay the money that you are fighting over and play some effing football!

Abdullah the Butcher in the WWE Hall of Fame

Last night it was announced that the The Madman from The Sudan, Abdullah the Butcher would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. If there was anyone more crazier then him then speak now because this guy was crazy. He was hardcore before the word hardcore became a term in pro wrestling. The Butcher traveled the world and won many titles.

He got into the ring with some of the all time greats including Terry Funk, Jacques Rougeau Sr., The Sheik, Harley Race, Bobo Brazil, Jack Brisco, Stan Hansen, Giant Baba, Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan, Bruiser Brody and Carlos Colon.

I remember when he was in the Chamber of Horrors match in 1991 during the days of WCW. He was perceived as a major threat to Sting's WCW Championship reign. Although he never held a championship in WCW, WWE, or ECW he is a title in his own right. He inspired many hardcore wrestlers including Kevin Sullivan, Cactus Jack (Mick Foley), Kamala, and Sabu. He has a legacy that will never be duplicated and his craziness will never be matched.

Congratulations to the Madman from Sudan, Abdullah the Butcher for going into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Message to the American Public: Turn Your Back on the NFL

Over the last two years and now the over the last many months and weeks the NFL and the players association have failed to come up with a new collective bargaining agreement. I don't care what either side says because it's about one thing and one thing only and that's money.

I am absolutely insulted that the players association feel they need more money, and more benefits. This country is hurting so bad right now and all you care about is make a few more million. People are losing jobs, losing homes and gas prices are reaching an all time high. The athletes in this country are spoiled, pampered and selfish. Are they

One of the things the players want is benefits for retired players. Here's my question and that is what are you doing with your money? These guys make more then enough to purchase a health insurance plan for themselves and their family so that isn't even an issue as far as I am concerned.

The league wants to impose a minimum salary a rookie can make. I agree with that 100 percent. A rookie should not be able to choose where he plays and he should only make the league minimum for his first year. In my opinion these guys that come out of college should have to prove to themselves before they make the big bucks. Doing great in college sometimes doesn't cut it.

The players also don't want an 18 game season due to risk of injury. Really? You guys have the shortest season out of any sport. Do you really think playing two less preseason games is going to make a difference.

I am going to travel back in time to 1994. In my opinion baseball was the biggest sport in this country, not football. People loved baseball, it was the national past time. Does anyone remember what happen? They went on strike and baseball was never the same after that. They now just starting to recover from their stupidity from fifteen plus years ago. The NBA had a lockout but they still managed to have a season, and the NHL was locked out for a year at one time and look it where it got them. All of these sports have suffered due to lockouts.

There is a reason I love things like the UFC, and use to love WWE. It's because they don't go on strike, there are never strike talks. Pro wrestlers take a lot more punishment then NFL football players and you don't hear them complaining. UFC fighters may not fight every week but they put through hell for a fight. Do you hear them complaining? No they don't.

I thought these athletes played for the love of the game. They would like us to believe that but they are just as greedy as the next person. I can honestly say that if there is not an NFL season this year coming year, it will be hard for me to watch football again. As far as I am concern, if an NFL season doesn't happen the American public should turn their back on the sport, the players and everything it represents. This country is the worst it's been in a very long time and these athletes should feel the effect of it just like everyone else.

If the NFL is the great American sport then they should stop slapping the American public in the face and appreciate what they have. Only time will tell if this gets resolved. I hope for the sake of it's fans it does. I for one will not lose sleep over not having football. Stay tuned for more on this ongoing struggle.

Jones and Faber Dominate at UFC 128

Last night was a great night for the UFC and it's fans. It had some really great fights and some surprises. The first surprise of the night was seeing Brendan Schaub knockout defeated Mirko Filipović. That was the first fight of the night and it set the stage for the rest of the night.

The Miller brothers fought in their home state and I believe it's a rare occasion when two brothers fight on the same card. This is how they did in their fights last night:

-Middleweight bout: Nate Marquardt vs. Dan Miller
Marquardt defeated Miller by unanimous decision (30–27, 30–27, 30–27).
-Lightweight bout: United States Jim Miller vs. Iran Kamal Shalorus
Miller defeated Shalorus by TKO (punches) at 2:15 of round 3.

Then one of the most anticipated parts of the night and that is the UFC debut of Urijah Faber who took on Eddie Wineland. I was really impressed with Wineland's take down defense. He really made Faber work for it. Once Faber got on the ground he dominated and never looked back as won his first UFC fight.

In the Main Event of the evening Jon Jones challanged Shogun Rua for the Light Heavyweight Title. Jones defeated Rua in the 3rd round by TKO and I hate to say it, he made him look he had never been in a fight before. Jon Jones is a beast and is going to be hard to stop.

His next fight will be against Rashad Evans. They were friends and teammates but the media has caused some division between the two. I really get so sick of hearing guys saying they wont fight teammate or a friend. Tito Ortiz thought like that at one time when he and Chuck Liddell friends. What did Chuck do? Fought his friend and made his way to the top. Of course after that, there wasn't a friendship anymore. If you want a title and if you want to move a fighter will take any fight given to him.

UFC 128 wasn't stacked but it had good solid fight. It was one of the best all around cards I've seen in awhile. A lot more good fights to come this year so keep staying tuned.

Road to Wrestlemania: Week 7

This week on the Road to Wrestlemania, it kicked off with The Rock addressing a very young John Cena and The Miz. It happen to be one of the funniest promos I've ever seen. Things are really heating up between The Rock, John Cena and The Miz. It makes for very interesting television.

Sheamus finally ended his losing streak this week by defeating Daniel Bryan for the United States title. All I got to say is it's about time because Sheamus is the future and a bright star for the WWE.

The Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler feud took a really interesting turn this week. Cole brought out Jerry's son Brian Christopher and completely humiliated him. After the humiliation Jim Ross came out and was attacked by Cole and Jack Swagger for his troubles. You wonder what's going to happen at Wrestlemania with all of these combustible elements.

In her first match in a long time Trish Stratus returned to Raw to take on Vickie Guerrero. Unfortunately Vickie Guerrero defeated Trish Stratus in their No Disqualification Match. Next thing you know it Snooki, Laycool, John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler all got involved. Now their is a 6 person tag match at Wrestlemania. All I got to say is that matches, the stars and the excitement for Mania is getting bigger.

The end of Raw saw John Cena take on Alberto Del Rio but in the end The Miz came in dressed as The Rock and destroyed Cena. That's how Raw went off the air and then Friday came and Smackdown was here.

Smackdown had some really great matches. The show kicked off with World Heavyweight Champion Edge defeating Brodus Clay and then a post match brawl ensued. That set up a match between Alberto Del Rio and Christian in a Steel Cage. Christian won but at the end of the show Edge got attacked by Clay and Del Rio.

In another great match United States Champion Sheamus defeated Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston. This was probably one of the better matches I've seen in a while on TV. Both deserve the titles they have whether people love them or not.

Also on the show Big Show and Kane defeated WWE Tag Team Champions Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater by Disqualification. After the match Show and Kane were on the receiving on the end of a brutal beat down.

Message to New York: Legalize MMA

Over the last couple of years Dana White and others have lobbied and pushed for New York to legalize MMA competitions in the state. This is been a much debated topic for a few years now. The politicians, big wigs, and activists believe MMA represents violence, not sport. My question to them is then why is boxing legal in New York? MMA is no different from boxing other then the fact their is many more disciplines and fight styles.

If this were 20 years ago I might understand why because back then the UFC had no rules. Now they have a lot of rules, different weight classes, drug testing, and everything else that other sports have. MMA is a growing industry, boxing is a dying breed and sport.

Think about this picture, a UFC event at Madison Square Garden. The Garden has had so many great sports and wrestling moments and we all know how New York sports fans are. They are passionate and they would tell you how they feel about a fight and a fighter. These people who are preventing MMA from coming are not realizing how money their state or big cities are losing out on.

My message to New York, bring MMA to your state. You will see a frenzy, you will see a buzz and you will see a different type of passion you have never seen before. All I got to say to Dana White is keep fighting the good fight. They will eventually break and realize they are losing out on something great.

Thoughts on the Fennville Boys Basketball Team

Earlier this week, the boys basketball team in Fennville had their season come to an end in the regional finals of the playoffs. I would like to personally say how I proud I was to hear that they made it that far and fought through each game like warriors.

It's very hard to go through what that team went through, however they need to realize that through all this, they had an country who follows sports rooting them on cheering them on. I know Wes Leonard would be proud of his teammates. I am sure Wes' family is very proud of the team that took the court without.

They played through some adverse conditions like playing the day before and after his funeral. I don't know if I could do it but they did. It was great to see Bo Kimble come to the school and support those kids. I still remember the day he suffered his lost when Hank Gathers died on the court.

I still can't believe how so many people throughout the country talked about this tragedy and the basketball team. It is simple amazing and it's very inspiring that these kids went out and played their hearts out. Even though they did not win the state championship, they are champions in my book and Wes Leonard's memory will always live on through what these kids did after he was gone.

My hats off to the Fennville Boys Basketball team. You did your teammate and friend proud. Keep your heads up and never forget what Wes Leonard was to you. Go Blackhawks!

Thoughts on Jeff Hardy vs. Sting at Victory Road

Last night wrestling saw it's biggest shocker since the Montreal Screw Job in 1997. It was suppose to be a big time main event match between Jeff Hardy vs. Sting for the TNA World Title. The match started off normal with a tie up but after one minute and thirty seconds into the match Sting hit the Scorpion Death drop and won the match.

A lot of people are speculating that Sting didn't want to wrestle a long match. I am sure he would have liked to wrestling more then two minutes. It's simple folks, Jeff Hardy is throwing his life away. It's been reported that he has been showing up high and drunk to shows on a regular basis.

I just don't blame Jeff Hardy, I also blame TNA management and their writers for allowing him to even go out to the ring. All I can say is congratulations to Jeff Hardy, for throwing away any credibility that TNA had or may have had in the future. TNA isn't like WCW, it's actually becoming worst then what WCW was.

The fans started chanting "bullshit" at the end and Sting replied with, "I agree." Sting didn't look happy and I am asking the question to Sting, are you happy you went back to TNA now? WWE would never allow anything like this to happen unless it was Vince McMahon's doing. The sad thing is, it was a pretty solid PPV until that moment but that match dropped the entire value of the PPV.

I will be curious to see the aftermath of all of this because quite frankly none of these wrestling news websites really have any idea what went on last night. It's only speculation but something tells me Jeff Hardy decided to take his ball and go home and to give up. Lastly, if this was a planned angle, then it's a very poorly planned angle because TNA Wrestling just lost a lot of fans and respect.

Road to Wrestlemania: Week 6

This week on the Road to Wrestlemania, it kicked off with The Undertaker proposing a No Holds Barred match against Triple H for their match at 'Mania. The first match saw Randy Orton defeating David Otunga and then punting him in the head. Now that Otunga is out Punk only has one person left to help him and thats Mason Ryan. CM Punk vs. Orton is already set but will Mason Ryan be able to win his match and be there for Punk during his match at Mania.

The biggest part of the night was the return of“Stone Cold” Steve Austin who signed contract to be special guest referee in Michael Cole vs. Jerry “The King” Lawler. This was after he gave a returning JBL the Stone Cold Stunner. Don't forget that Jack Swagger will be in Michael Cole's corner for the match

It was also announced Trish Stratus will return next week to Raw to face Vickie Guerrero. Something tells me that Vickie might have a few tricks up her sleeve. Vickie Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler are now on Raw and Ziggler defeated John Morrison in his first match on Raw.

Raw ended with John Cena going Basic Thuganomics on The Rock. I am not sure but I really think it's personal between these two. I don't think all of it's staged between these two and they really are speaking how each other feels about one another. After Cena's rap, The Miz attacked him and that's how Raw ended.

Smackdown kicked off with a confrontation between Alberto Del Rio and Edge which was followed by an announcement that it would be Edge and Christian vs. Alberto Del Rio and Brodus Clay. Edge and Christian. Also Triple H accepted The Undertaker's No Holds Barred stipulation for Wrestlemania. Speaking of accepting things, Rey Mysterio accepted Cody Rhodes challenge to a match at Wrestlemania. This match is very intriguing and I will be curious to see what happens

Finally Big Show and Kane are taking turns beating each up then beating The Corre up. It will eventually lead to a match at Wrestlemania but nothing has been announced yet. As of right now the current card for Wrestlemania is:

UFC buys Strikeforce

Last night I was very shocked to hear that UFC's parent company Zuffa had bought Strikeforce. I really didn't see this coming just yet but UFC has become the WWE of MMA. Let's think about this for a second. Look at all the fighters the UFC can use when Strikeforce's contract is up with showtime. Here are some of the fighters that Strikeforce has that have been or should be in the UFC.

-Dan Henderson
-Nick Diaz (Dana White said he would never bring him back but you never know)
-Gilbert Melendez
-Chad Griggs
-Antonio Silva
-Jason Miller

Now do I think UFC would bring all of those fighters in? No but then again the UFC proved us wrong by bringing a lot of the Pride and WEC fighters over. The big question is what is Fedor Emelianenko going to do when his contract with Strikeforce runs out. He tried working out with deals with Dana in the past but now he might not have choice.

The UFC in my opinion is still booming where as pro wrestling is not and boxing is a dying sport. The UFC is smart in the fact they know how to market their fighters, their brands, and everything else they do. Stay tuned for more on this story and how it pans out.

Tammy "Sunny" Sytch in the WWE Hall of Fame

Last night it was announced that the original Diva, Sunny would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Sunny was a head of her time back in the mid 90's. She had the looks, the attitude, and the assets of a diva. Sunny managed Brian Lee, L.O.D. 2000, The Bodydonnas, The Godwinns and The Smoking Gunns (Billy Gunn and Bart Gunn). Her real life love was Chris Candido who was apart of The Bodydonnas as Skip. She followed him to ECW and WCW after her run in WWE.

Sunny has battled some addictions over the year and had a period where she wasn't healthy. She also did lose the love of her life in Chris Candido, when Candido passed away in 2005. She did appear at t WrestleMania XXV in the "Miss Wrestlemania" Diva's Battle Royal.

Although Sunny never won a title she set the standard for what a Diva is in the WWE. It's really great to see Sunny to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Congratulations to Tammy Sytch for this wonderful honor.

Football Offseason Moves and News

A lot has been going on since the end of the football season ecspecially with the Collective Bargaining agreement talks and so forth. No decision has been made yet but teams are still making their moves. Here are some of the signings, trades and releases that have happened since the Super Bowl.

-Carolina Panthers: signed TE Jeremy Shockey to a one-year contract.
-Green Bay Packers: signed LB A.J. Hawk to a five-year contract.
-New Orleans Saints: agreed to terms with RB Pierre Thomas on a four-year contract and K Garrett Hartley on a five-year contract. Signed DT Shaun Rogers to a one-year contract
-New York Jets: waived DE Vernon Gholston and TE Ben Hartsock. Released LB Damien Woody, NT Kris Jenkins and DE Jason Taylor.
-Philadelphia Eagles: signed QB Michael Vick to a one-year contract.
-Seattle Seahawks: re-signed RB Leon Washington to a multi-year contract. S
-Washingon Redskins: released RB Clinton Portis.

Dan Henderson Wins Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Championship

Last night Dan Henderson defeated Rafael Cavalcante to become the new Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion. Henderson has now added to his collection of titles that also includes the PRIDE World Middleweight Championship and the PRIDE World Welterweight Championship. At 40 years old he is still winning titles and taking on the best that MMA has to offer. He's fought the best of the best in MMA and proved that his experience pays off everytime. Other results on the show include:

-Women's Welterweight Championship bout: Marloes Coenen (c) vs. Liz Carmouche
Coenen defeated Carmouche by submission (triangle choke) at 1:29 in round 4

-Middleweight bout: United States Tim Kennedy vs. Netherlands Melvin Manhoef
Kennedy defeated Manhoef by submission (rear naked choke) at 3:41 in round 1.

-Lightweight bout: Jorge Masvidal vs. Billy Evangelista
Masvidal defeated Evangelista by unanimous decision (30–27, 30–27, 30–27).

Obviously Strikeforce does not have the star power that UFC does but their are some upcoming fights that caught my eye including:

Wes Leonard Tragedy Garners National Attention

It's not very often where I get write about something like this. In fact it saddens me that I have to write about this. On Thursday night, Wes Leonard hit the game winning shot for Fennville High School to complete an undefeated regular season. Wes Leonard was a two sport athlete who excelled at football and basketball.

It is being discovered now that Wes Leonard passed away from an enlarged heart which often times go unnoticed. There a lot of different ways an enlarged heart can happen but that's besides the point. The point is that a young kid who had a bright future and that was positive towards everyone is gone. I can understand what the community of Fennville is going through because the Wayland community had a tragedy two months ago that took the life of someone that everyone loved and respected.

I took some time to Google Wes Leonard this morning and I could not believe the amount of coverage that this story is getting. It's been covered by ABC, CBS, Yahoo, and it's been on ESPN the last two days. No matter if its local or national, it seems like every media outlet is talking about how great this kid was and just how many people loved him. Fennville is suppose to start their play off run this week but it's still unclear whether or not they will play. If they do they will be playing with heavy hearts but at the same time will play with every bit of emotion they have in them.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Leonard family, his friends, and the Fennville Community.

Road to Wrestlemania: Week 5

This week on the Road to Wrestlemania it kicked off with Triple H coming and addressing the crowd about his match with The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 27. As he was about to leave Sheamus came out to confront him. Unfortunately for Sheamus he got Pedigreed through a table. After that he was defeated by Evan Bourne who returned after months of injury.

Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler agreed to a match at Wrestlemania with Michael Cole picking the special guest referee and Cole is allowed to have his trainer, Jack Swagger at ringside for the match. Another match that was made for Wrestlemania is Randy Orton vs. CM Punk. Orton took out Michael McGillicutty after their match because one of the stipulations is over the next few weeks if any Nexus member beats Orton they can be at ringside for CM Punk at Wrestlemania.

In the Main Event, John Cena defeated Alex Riley in a Steel Cage Match. The stipulation was if Cena lost he would have to declare The Miz as the greatest WWE Champion of all time. If Riley lost, he would be fired and could no longer work for The Miz.

On Smackdown, things kicked off with World Heavyweight Champion Edge defeating Drew McIntyre after McIntyre was upset with Edge being the reason Vickie Guerrero was no longer on Smackdown. Edge was also involved with his contract signing with Alberto Del Rio for their World Heavyweight Title match at Wrestlemania.

The other big news on Smackdown is that Cody Rhodes challenged Rey Mysterio to a match at Wrestlemania which I am sure Mysterio will accept. In a weird turn of events the Big Show took on Kane because The Corre asked for Kane's help with him. However after Kane struck Big Show with a chair he nailed Justin Gabriel which leads me to wonder if Kane is turning face again and will team up with The Big Show to take on The Corre.

It was a crazy week on the Road to Wrestlemania. The highlight for me was The Rock's response to John Cena on Raw. This is one of the best verbal feuds I have ever seen anywhere. I absolutely love it. Keep coming back to read more on the Road to Wrestlemania.

Sanchez-Kampmann Highlights UFC Live on Versus

So I will admit last night at UFC Live on Versus I totally marked out for Diego Sanchez coming out to La Bamba. Sanchez looked great but I thought his opponent Martin Kampmann looked a little bit better. Diego won by unanimous decision (29–28, 29–28, 29–28). Diego no longer calls himself the nightmare. He now calls himself the dream because he has cleaned up his life and wants to be a better fighter and role-model. It was a great fight card that included:

-Bantamweight bout: Brian Bowles vs. Damacio Page
Bowles defeated Page by technical submission (guillotine choke) at 3:30 of round 1.

-Middleweight bout: Alessio Sakara vs. Chris Weidman
Weidman defeated Sakara by unanimous decision (30–27, 30–27, 30–27).

-Middleweight bout: C.B. Dollaway vs. Mark Muñoz
Muñoz defeated Dollaway by TKO (punches) at 0:54 of round 1.

This is an impressive debut for UFC on Versus. I really enjoy the pre-fight coverage, something that Spike never had. Great showing for these fighters and the UFC. Stay tuned for more the next time UFC is on Versus.

Sting Returns to TNA and More

So having Sting return to TNA was their answer to The Rock, Triple H, Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Booker T and others coming back to WWE. If that was their answer, then that was indeed pathetic. Sting returned as Jeff Hardy's mystery opponent and won the TNA World Heavyweight.

Over the last few months all I've seen on TV is the old timers that need to be out of the business or atleast off of TV. The Flair, Hogan and Bischoff thing was great for the first few months but this is turning into WCW all together again. If you want to relive wrestling at it's worst from 10 years ago then tune in to TNA. TNA should be renamed to Total Non-Stop REWIND. I feel I am in a Back to the Future movie or something when I watch it.

Yes I am glad Sting is back, but I am not glad he's back with TNA. He would have been better off in WWE. Everyone was pulling for him to go to WWE including me. He would have made more in Wrestlemania season then he would in 2 or 3 years at TNA. Hopefully someday he'll do something with WWE but it's not likely anytime soon. That's enough of my total non-stop rant.

"Bullet" Bob Armstrong in the WWE Hall of Fame

Last night another new WWE Hall of Famer was announced. The newest member is "Bullet" Bob Armstrong who was a very talented superstar in the NWA. He had over 50 title reigns in his career which started in 1962. He also has four sons that have all in the buisness and they are Brad, Scott, Steve and Brian.

Brad was a mainstay mid-carder for WCW for a long time and was very technically sound. Scott wrestled but is now a WWE referee who has been apart of some great matches. Then there is Brian. Brian eventually became "Road Dogg" Jesse James, who was apart of DX/New Age Outlaws.

Scott may not be know by a lot of today's wrestling fans but his sons still carry on his legacy today. Scott was a very skilled professional wrestler who deserves this honor. It's going to be great to see the Armstrong family come together at Wrestlemania 27. Congratulations to the "Bullet."
