TNA Impact Recap- 4/26/2010

First off, my apologies for not getting my recap in on time this week, but on that note the show started off with Hogan, RVD, AJ and Flair all in the ring talking their games for the night. Both Flair and AJ had a lot of complaining to do but it really didn't help their causes.

The first match of the night was between Madison Rayne, Angelina Love and Tara for the TNA Knockouts Championship. Madison won and a post match brawl ensued which left Tara standing over Angelina.

Next up was Kaz vs Shannon Moore for the X Division Championship. This was a very short match which saw Kaz winning due to interference from Matt Morgan. After the match Samoa Joe came out and just totally decimated Kaz and then left.

The best match of the night was the Falls Count Anywhere Tag Team match that had
AJ Styles and Sting vs Jeff Jarrett and Jeff Hardy. It was a good solid match, and it's giving Sting and Jeff Jarrett a great feud. Sting and AJ won but the rivalry is far from over between Jarrett and Sting.

The Pope returned with injuries and all and talked about his match and his future then Mr. Anderson came out, cut a promo and attacked The Pope, setting up a match for Sacrifice.

Next up was Matt Morgan and Jesse Neal vs Team 3D for the World Tag Team Championship. This wasn't even a match really. Hall and Nash came out to get revenge after what Team 3D did to to Syxx-Pac in the back before the match. Jesse Neal went to help 3D when Morgan attacked him. Morgan went to the back and ran into Hogan. Hogan told him to get back out there and deal with Jesse Neal. They brawled until Shannon Moore made the save.

The Main Event of the evening was Abyss vs. Ric Flair and whoever won got the other persons Hall of Fame ring. This was not the greatest of matches. Flair looks so old and out of shape it's ridiculious. Abyss wins, gets the ring and Hogan announces he will present the ring to someone next week.

Thoughts on the Tito Ortiz and Jenna Jameson Saga

Two days ago Tito Ortiz was arrested on charges of alleged domestic violence at his house with his girlfriend and ex-porn star Jenna Jameson. Ortiz was released and held a news conference last night. Apparently, Jenna has been battling an oxycotton addiction and relapsed. She then called 911 when they got into an arguement about it. She even told reporters herself that Tito has never laid a hand on her but then changed her tune after Tito's press conference.

I am really not sure what to think of this right now. Tito is a hot head who can explode at anytime. I really don't think he'd harm the mother of his twin boys. You could tell he was pretty upset about the whole thing at the press conference. It's kind of hard to create those kind of tears and emotion. I think he was real and genuine about the whole thing.

I wonder what the Dana White and the UFC's stance is on this matter and if Tito will be punished? Everyone knows Tito and Dana aren't exactly best friends but if I know Dana he will be supportive of his legendary fighter. I'll be back with more if their are any more developments. Stay tuned.

Ryan Howard's New Contract

I couldn't believe my eyes the other day, when I saw that the Phillies gave Ryan Howard a contract for five years worth 125 million dollars. That means he is making 25 million a year. Don't get me wrong, Ryan Howard is a good player, but he's not great. There are guys like Albert Pujols who should be making more then Howard.

I agree with the baseball experts, Howard is not even in the top five of the besy players in baseball right now. I would say that the top 5 are Pujols, Mauer, Miguel Cabrera, Ryan Braun and Carlos Pena. I also agree with the experts when they say because of Howard's size he will not age well. His bat speed will get slower and his power will diminish. It happens, and it has happened to the best of them. I honestly don't think he's worth 25 million dollars a year.

What's even scarier, people are saying that Albert Pujols is worth 50 million dollars a year. No one player, person or athlete is worth that much money. You could get 5-10 decent players for that kind of money. If Albert Pujols gets a 50 million a year contract, I will be shocked. As it is the Cardinals are paying Matt Holliday 16 million a year, and Chris Carpenter is making 15 million a year. They would have to get rid of both guys to pay Pujols that kind of money.

Ryan Howard's new contract has set the bar for other players to demand more money. Like I said their are 5-10 players better then him so I'll be curious to see if they get more money then Howard. The only other person making more money the Howard right now is Alex Rodriguez at 27 million dollars a year. Howard is no A-Rod so stay tuned to see how well this all works out.

2010 WWE Supplemental Draft

Yesterday WWE had it's supplemental draft and nothing really exciting happened to my knowledge. Here is who changed shows yesterday.

I've said the last two days, Smackdown got the shaft in the draft. Raw loaded up like I've never seen before. Certain guys that move to Smackdown like Kofi Kingston and Christian will probably have the spotlight that they deserve once and for all. I will be curious to see what happens with all of these changes.

2010 WWE Draft

For the first time in awhile it was a somewhat good Monday Night Raw. Last night it was the 2010 WWE Draft and things definitely got shaken up just a little. The first match of the night was for the Unified Tag Team Championship between Hart Dynasty and the Unified Tag Team Champions Show-Miz. Finally a legitment tag team won the titles and now the Hart Dynasty will be the most dominant tag team in the WWE. After that, is when the drafting began.

Kelly Kelly was drafted to SmackDown after Michelle McCool and Layla defeated Divas Champion Eve and Maryse. No big gain for Smackdown but you never know with the Divas.

Big Show was drafted to SmackDown after CM Punk defeated Evan Bourne. This will be interesting because all the big men, including Kane, Undertaker and Khali are all on Smackdown. I would love to see a fatal four way between all the big men. It would be entertaining.

John Morrison, R-Truth and Edge were all drafted to Raw after Ted DiBiase won a 10-Man Dual-Branded Battle Royal. I think Edge will obviously be in the World Title hunt again and John Morrison will definitely be feuding with The Miz for the United States title. Good picks for Raw to have.

Kofi Kingston was drafted to SmackDown after Chris Jericho defeated Christian. I think Kofi will have a better chance of being succesful on Smackdown because of the lack of star power on Smackdown right now. I see Kofi feuding with Drew McIntyre for the IC Title.

Christian was drafted to SmackDown after World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger defeated John Morrison. Christian deserves to be World Champion. He has been around long enough and the people are behind him.

Chris Jericho was drafted to Raw Hornswoggle defeated Dolph Ziggler by Count-out. Well it's not a huge deal that Jericho is on Raw because he was on Raw most of the last year because he was a Unified Tag Team Champion.

In the Main Event Batista defeated Sheamus and Randy Orton in a No. 1 Contender's Triple Threat Match. So Batista isn't retiring or leaving like we all thought. Edge cost Orton the match so they are setting up for a feud between these two which should be very interesting.

Baseball Weekly

This was another decent week for me as I actually won another week, making it two in a row for the good guys. Here is how I did this week.

Milwaukee Brewers 4-6-0
Hollywood's Rejects 6-4-0

The categories I won were HR, K, W, SV, ERA, and WHIP. My players of the week were Kosuke Fukudome, Jorge De La Rosa, and Kevin Gregg. I am currently 16-13-1 which puts me 2nd in my division and 3rd overall. I am doing decent so far but some of my hitters need to pick it up a notch. Keep checking back weekly to see how I do each week.

More NFL Moves

A few more big moves happened the last two weeks before and during the draft. All these moves are very significant in their own ways. Here the deals that were made throughout the last two weeks.

-Steelers acquired QB Byron Leftwich from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a seventh-round draft pick.

-Eagles Traded a 2010 fifth-round draft pick to Denver, who will send TE Tony Scheffler and a 2010 seventh-round draft pick to Detroit, who will send LB Ernie Sims to the Eagles.

-Dolphins traded WR-KR Ted Ginn Jr. to San Francisco for a 2010 fifth-round draft pick.

-Broncos traded WR Brandon Marshall to Miami and 2010 and 2011 second-round draft picks.

-Jets acquired WR Santonio Holmes from Pittsburgh for a 2010 fifth-round draft pick. Agreed to terms with LB Jason Taylor on a two-year contract.

Other deals sent Lendale White to the Seahawks. The Seahawks also got Leon Washington. The most notbale deal of the week was the Redskins trading Jason Campbell to the Raiders. The draft is over and it will be interesting to what final additions teams make before the season begins in the fall. Keep checking back to see if any more moves are made.

Randy Couture vs. James Toney At UFC 118 and more

I just found out this morning the boxing great James Toney is making his debut in the UFC against the UFC legend himself, Randy Couture. This should be quite a fight considering both men are in their 40's. Also rumoured for the fight is Kenny Florian vs. Gray Maynard and a Lightweight Championship bout between Frankie Edgar (c) and B.J. Penn.

In other news Frank Mir has been calling out Anderson Silva and I think this would be a great fight to watch. Someone needs to step up and actually give Silva a run for his money. I personally cannot stand the man. Vitor Belfort also wants a shot at Anderson Silva. However with all those challangers, Anderson Silva will defend his title against Chael Sonnen. Sonnen has fought some credible opponents but no one like Anderson Silva. Unfortunately I think this might be another Damien Maia case where Silva just toys with him. It should be interesting to see what happens to Anderson Silva. A lot of people don't like right now. I would stay tuned to see what happens.

TNA Impact Recap- 4/19/2010

What a huge fallout from Lockdown last night on TNA Impact. It was one of those nights you don't ever want to forget. The show kicked off with AJ Styles bragging about his victory over The Pope at Lockdown. Both RVD and Jeff Hardy came out and talked about wanting to be the best. Hogan then came out and said that it would be RVD vs. Jeff Hardy later on in the evening to determine who would face AJ for the title later on that night. As you can only imagine Ric Flair did not approve.

The first match of the evening was a Knkckouts Tag Team Title Match with Daffney and ODB taking on The Beautiful People. Nothing special here because The Beautiful People win again.

After that Team Flair challanged Team Hogan to a rematch from Lockdown. Abyss accepted but because Hardy and RVD were already in a match they needed two new partners. When the brawl broke out between the two teams, Rob Terry came out and made the save for Team Hogan. Bischoff came out and said he had fourth guy who would be ready later on that night.

Matt Morgan was still looking for a partner for his tag team match next week and he kept getting turned down, even by the Shannon Moore who gets a title shot at Kazarian next week in Impact. Who will Morgans partner be?

Next up was the number one contenders match between RVD and Jeff Hardy. These two have had great battles before and they had a great battle again. RVD won with his 5-Star Frog Splash but both men joked about the match after they were done. RVD moves on later to face AJ for the title.

The Lockdown rematch was a crazy won at that, and it started off with Jarrett and Sting fighting in the Impact Zone. It was great to see Rob Terry get involved with things and get a big push. All 7 men eventually got involved until the fourth man on Team Hogan came out. The fourth man on Team Hogan was Samoa Joe! Samoa Joe made his return being of TV for over a month. He came, he kicked ass, and then left without even celebrating with his team. Flair came out and challanged Abyss to a match for next week in which both men would put their rings on the line. I am sure WWE has to be loving that. A match in whoever wins gets to WWE Hall of Fame rings. Yeah Vince probably isn't to thrilled but I think it's awesome.

The Main Event of the night was on and it was the TNA World Title Match between AJ Styles and RVD. Another classic encounter for AJ with someone he has never faced before. I really enjoyed this match. I think TNA is finally getting things right with AJ. Continue being a heel but incorporate your moveset that you have always had. He's starting to do the high-flying stuff more which makes him a much better wrestler. I thought AJ would retain but RVD hit the 5-Star Frogsplash for the win and to become the new TNA Heavyweight Champion. Hogan, Hardy, Dixie, Team 3D and others came out celebrate the win. The show ended with confetti dropping and the building chanting RVD!!!

Baseball Weekly

Well the second week of baseball has come and gone and I did a little bit better this week then I expected. I played one of my arch rivals in fantasy sports and here is how it turned out.

Hollywood's Rejects 5-4-1
We're Juicin' 4-5-1

The categories I won were R, K, W, ERA, and WHIP. My players of the week were Juan Uribe, Rick Ankiel and Jonathan Sanchez. I am currently 10-9-1 which puts me 2nd in my division and 5th overall. I've come to realize that you consistantly have to make moves to win the week because if you don't you're kind of screwed. I've been making a lot of moves and if that's what it takes for me to win then I case that's what I am doing. Keep checking back each week to see how I do.

TNA Lockdown Results

Last night was a great night TNA because they had their best pay-per-view of the year. They had to make some changes at the last minute because Douglass Williams couldn't get over from England due to the volcano and Syxx-Pac no showed. The first match of the evening was James Storm taking on RVD to gain advantage for Lockdown. It was a good solid match that saw RVD gain the advantage for Team Hogan in the main event.

The second match of the evening was an XScape Match between Homicide,Brian Kendrick, Alex Shelley, and Chris Sabin to determine who would take Douglass Williams spot in the triple threat X Division championship match. This was a good fast pace match and in the end Homicide got out of the cage first and got himself a spot in a match later on.

Up next was Kevin Nash vs. Eric Young and this match didn't go as well as I thought it could. It was actually a really short match which Kevin Nash ended up winning. He then got on the mic and said he would be Scott Hall's partner later on in the night against Team 3D.

After that a match that featured ALL TNA Knockouts Titles On The Line with Tara and Angelina Love vs. The Beautiful People. This match was pretty good and now all The Beautiful People have the gold. After the match was over, Tara turned on Angelina and left her lying in the middle of the ring. It's safe to say Tara is officially heel again.

Another title match was after that and it was the X Division Championship match that had Shannon Moore vs. Homicide vs. Kazarian. Another fast pace, high octane match. All three men have different styles which made the match fun to watch. In the end, Kazarian became the new X Division Champion.

Kevin Nash pulled double duty when Team 3D took on Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. Now that's a match I would have rather seen only because Hall and Nash were a legit tag team back in the day. The match was pretty much a brawl and it was pretty much dominated by Team 3D who obviously won the match. Because of Syxx-Pac no showing I really don't know what's going to happen to the band. I honestly think they need to just stick Hall and Nash. No Syxx-Pac, no Bubba, and no other members. It would be a lot more effective if it was just those two. We will see what happens.

The match of the night was definitely Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Anderson. What a great match the made the whole show worth watching. All the matches were good, but this one was great. Angle and Anderson went back and forth and there were a few times in the match where I didn't know who was going to win. Angle eventually won the match and then aftwards told the crowd he was taking some time off and that when he came back he would once again be TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

Another match that was pretty good was the TNA Championship Match with AJ Styles vs. D'Angelo Dinero. AJ finally used some of his high flying moves again to help win the match. Actually it was his dirty tactics that won him the match but I got to give props to The Pope. I love how TNA took a WWE mid-carder and turned him into a superstar that a lot of people love. He may have not won the title but he definitely proved he can hang with the best.

The Main Event of the evening was the Lethal Lockdown Match between Team Hogan (Abyss, Jeff Jarrett, Jeff Hardy & Rob Van Dam) vs. Team Flair (Sting, Beer Money & Desmond Wolfe). This match was chaotic, bloody and at times unpredictable. It eventually became 5 on 5 when Hogan and Flair got involved. Flair and Sting both went through thumbtacks. Jeff Hardy reenacted what AJ did at Lockdown of 2006 by jumping of a ladder on to a table which happen to be on top of the steel cage. Abyss finally pinned Wolfe to win the match. The show ended with Team Hogan along with Eric Bischoff celebrating their victory over Team Flair.

I enjoyed Lockdown a lot. I have not seen that much blood on a pay-per-view in a long time. All I got to say it it's about time. Wrestling is about the blood, and the hardcore style sometimes. I thought it was a great showing for TNA and hopefully the can keep the momentum rolling.

Jake Shields Greatest Victory Marred in Controversy

On the night where Jake Shields had his greatest victory a fight broke out during his interview after the fight. Jason Miller, who is the host of Bully Beatdown got in the octagon and taunted Shields until a fight broke out. Shields, along with Gilbert Melendez, Nate Diaz and Nick Diaz took down the real bully himself. Jason Miller definitely got more then he bargained for. This is not good for MMA, but specifically Strikeforce. Dana White has to be loving this. Other then the post fight brawl, it was a good night of fights for Strikeforce. Here is how the fights on TV went down.

Middleweight Championship bout: Jake Shields (c) vs. Dan Henderson
Shields defeated Henderson via unanimous decision (49-46, 49-45, 48-45) to retain the Strikeforce Middleweight championship.

Lightweight Championship bout: Gilbert Melendez (c) vs. Shinya Aoki
Melendez defeated Aoki via unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-45) to retain the
Strikeforce Lightweight championship.

Light Heavyweight Championship bout: Gegard Mousasi (c) vs. Muhammed Lawal
Lawal defeated Mousasi via unanimous decision (49-45, 49-45, 49-45) to become the new Strikeforce Light heavyweight champion. Mousasi was deducted one point for delivering an illegal upkick.

I'll be curious to see how the post-fight brawl is handled. Obviously Shields and Miller will eventually go at it, but when and where? Strikeforce might not be allowed back on TV, or atleast on CBS. Clearly Strikeforce has no control over what the fighters do because I can guarentee you that nothing like that would happen in UFC and if it did Dana White would have fired both of them immiediately. Chuck Liddell vs. Rich Franklin at UFC 115

Well it should be no surprise that Tito Ortiz backed out of his fight with Chuck Liddell. Would you really want to lose to the same guy three times? I know I wouldn't Tito's replacement is a very good one. Rich "Ace" Franklin has a chance to cement his legacy if he can defeat "The Iceman" in Vancouver.

Both fighters have impressive track records. Lets start with Franklin. Franklin is a former Middleweight Champion who has fought the likes of Vitor Belfort, Wanderlei Silva, Dan Henderson, Anderson Silva, Ken Shamrock and the late Evan Tanner. His styles include Freestyle Fighting, Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Muay Thai. He is 26-5-1 and the majority of his fights have been won by knockout or submission. He will be a true test for Liddell.

Chuck Liddell has not fought since April 18, 2009. He is currently a coach on this season of The Ultimate Fighter. Chuck has also fought some great fighters including Randy Couture, Mauricio Rua, Rashad Evans, Quinton Jackson, and Tito Ortiz. Liddell is 21-7 with thirteen of those victories coming by knockout. Liddell is a former Light Heavyweight Champion who held the title for over two and a half years. His fighting style consists of Kempo, Kickboxing, and Wrestling.

I for one cannot wait to see this fight. Both men have knockout power so I think it's going to be a standup fight. Franklin does have the edge in the ground game so look for him to submit Liddell in the fight. Get ready for one of the biggest fights of the year.

TNA Lockdown Predictions

This Sunday is TNA Lockdown, the pay-per-view where every match is inside the steel cage. It is the best TNA pay-per-view of the year and this year will be no different. There are some great matches this Sunday so here is the rundown of the matches and my predictions.

TNA Women's Knockout Championship and TNA Knockout Tag Team Championship Match
The Beautiful People (Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky) vs. Angelina Love and Tara.
The match goes like this and that is if Tara or Angelina get pinned Angelina loses her title but if the Beautiful People lose, Tara and Angelina become TNA Knockout Tag Team Champions. I personally think Tara and Angelina will become Tag champs then feud over the Knockouts Championship.

Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon) vs. The Band (Syxx-Pac and Scott Hall)
I think Team 3D is absolutely going to destroy The Band inside the cage. I just don't see The Band being on TV that much longer. Hall really can't move like he use to, and Syxx-Pac has a bad reputation. I see Team 3D taking out The Band on Sunday.

Kevin Nash vs. Eric Young
Eric Young is getting a huge push right now and the fans are really starting to get behind him again. I remember when Eric Young use to be a goofball but now that he has a more serious character, he has become a better wrestler. I think EY beats Big Kev and keeps moving forward in his career.

The Motor City Machineguns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) vs. Brian Kendrick and Homicide
This should be a fast pace match all the way. The MCMG got this one because Kendrick and Homicide don't get a long with anyone so they won't work well together. I am glad they have two matches the highlight the X Division because the X Division is the heart of TNA.

TNA X Division Championship Match
Douglas Williams (c) vs. Kazarian vs. Shannon Moore
Doug Williams really makes me laugh with his attitude and character but in all seriousness he is one of the best wrestlers in the world. I think Shannon Moore will become the new TNA X Division Champion. He is being used so much better then he was in WWE. I think he wins the title so that he can tell his buddy Matt Hardy, that in TNA you're going to get more opportunity then you do in WWE right now.

Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Anderson
The feud finally comes to an end and I for one cannot wait. I really enjoyed the feud but the thing with the medal has gotten a little bit old. This feud has been intense, and great for wrestling but it could have done without a medal. I think Kurt Angle wins the match and furthers his legendary career even more.

Match for the number's advantage in the Lethal Lockdown match
James Storm vs. Rob Van Dam
I don't know how this one is going to except for that they had a great match last time they fought and I am sure they will have another great match on Sunday. I think Storm wins with help from Roode to only make Team Hogan look like the underdogs even more then they already are.

Team Hogan (Abyss [Captain], Jeff Jarrett, Jeff Hardy and Rob Van Dam) vs. Team Flair (Sting [Captain], Beer Money, Inc. (Robert Roode and James Storm), and Desmond Wolfe)
Team Hogan will win and the only reason I say this is because everytime the heels get the upperhand on the faces for weeks straight the faces always have the glorious win at a pay-per-view. For some reason I think Hulk is going to make some changes to his team but I don't have slightest clue who could be on his team. Like I said Team Hogan will win. Hulkamania always wins.

TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match
A.J. Styles (c) vs. D'Angelo Dinero
Well for this match it's really hard for me to pick a winner because both men have a lot of momentum going into the pay-per-view. I really like Dinero and I think TNA will put the title on him just to say to prove to WWE that they took one of their mid-carders and turned him into a superstar. The Pope is going to walk away with the gold and the money will drop in celebration.

Like the tagline says, its "Every Match Inside the Steel Cage." Atleast when TNA does a themed PPV they do it right. Expect blood, sweat and tears on Sunday. I for one cannot wait for the Lockdown. Check back Monday for the recap.

Thoughts on the Ultimate Fighter Middleweights

It's two weeks into The Ultimate Fighter: Middleweights , and already Chuck Liddell's team is dominating. One of the things I observed was that Chuck is involved with everyone and he has a more strict camp. At the same time everyone on his team gets a long and it's very laid back. Tito Ortiz's team has already lost the first two fights and his team doesn't get a long. I really think Tito has his hands full and I doubt any of his fighters will go far.

As for who you I think will win, I think it will be a guy from Tito Ortiz's team. His name is Jamie Yager. Jamie has got very vicious headkicks and no one else in the house really has the kicks Yager has so I really think it's going to be hard to beat him. Yager is very cocky, brash and has got a chip on his shoulder. He will definitely go a long way in the competition.

Mosley and Mayweather to Fight on May 1st.

Well Floyd Mayweather Jr. is fighting again but it won't be against Manny Pacquiao. On May 1st h he will take on Shane Mosley who is the current WBA Welterweight Super Champion. He will be defending that title when he faces Mayweather. All of us know Mayweather's credentials but Mosley is no slouch himself.His record is 46-5-1 with 39 knockouts. He has held numerous titles including:

As for the Mayweather's original opponent Manny Pacquiao, he has a fight himself coming up on March 13th. He will be taking on Joshua Clottey in Cowboy Stadium for the WBO Welterweight title.

News and Notes in Sports

A lot going in sports today and the last few days. Here are some of the bigger things happening.

Kasey Kahne signed a multi-year deal with Hendrick Motorsports which is huge because now there is Jimmie, Jeff, Dale, Mark and Kasey. Hendrick is now becoming the evil empire of the sport just like the Yankees are to baseball.

Ben Roethlisberger had his meeting with Roger Goodell yesterday and in my opinion it's about time Big Ben gets suspended. He has had a lot of negative publicity towards him and now he needs to get the punishment that everyone else gets. I know Terry Bradshaw doesn't care for him and had some pretty harsh words for Ben a few days ago. Terry was the quarterback in Pittsburgh before Big Ben was even born and knows how you should carry yourself and your team.

Also a deal is close between the Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos to send Brandon Marshall to Miami for two second-round picks. I think it's a good deal for both teams but in the end Denver will get more out of it with the two draft picks.

Milton Bradley is having problems in Seattle already because he flipped off a fan in Texas last week. He has had so many issues the last few years with his attitude and how he carries himself. He did hit a homerun last night that won the game for the Mariners so maybe that's a good sign. He just needs to get his act together and he will be a great player.

A lot going on this week, the NHL playoffs start tonight, the NBA playoffs start on Sunday. Both seasons are finally coming to an end. Keep checking back to see who wins the Stanley Cup and the NBA Championship.

TNA Impact Recap 4/12/2010

It was another crazy week on TNA Impact on Monday Night. The show started off with Jeff Jarrett calling out Sting and brawling with only to be taken out by Sting and his baseball bat. Team Flair celebrates in the back over what just happened.

The first match of the evening was Team 3D and Jesse Neal v. The Band in a New York Street Fight. Team 3D dominated right until the end, and then The Band had some help from Bubba which allowed them to get the victory. EY came out challenged Kevin Nash to a match at Lockdown.

The second match was between Shannon Moore and Kaz. This was a great and solid match up between the two. Douglass Williams was on commentary and he was very entertaining. The match ended in a draw and both men ran Williams to the back after the match. It was probably the best match on Impact.

Match three was Angelina Love and Velvet Sky. Velvet got to choose any stipulation she wanted and she kept changing them in the middle of the match. Eventually Angelina was handcuffed and Tara came out to save her.

The next match was The Motorcity Machine Guns v. Matt Morgan and Amazing Red for the TNA Tag Team Championships. This was funny because Morgan is a heel right now trying to find himself a tag team partner. Morgan and Red won the match but Morgan tried taking out Red but MCMG saved him and the last laugh was on Morgan.

The fifth match was Jeff Hardy vs. Robert Roode. Anothe great match which saw Hardy won. After the match Storm blew a fireball in Hardy's face. RVD tries to help out but gets taken out rather quickly.

The Main Event of the evening was suppose to be The Pope and Abyss against AJ and Desmond but Abyss got hit by a car. Then Jay Lethal was going to take his place but got taken out by Team Flair. So it ended up being Pope vs. AJ and Pope won by DQ and Team Flair took him out after the match. The show ended with Hogan staring down Team Flair like he had something in mind for Lockdown.

More NFL Moves

Well the draft is nearing next week and a lot of moves are still going on. Here is a recap of whats been going on the last couple of weeks.

-New York Jets acquired Santonio Holmes through a trade with the Pittsburgh Jets
-Washington Redskins signed CB Phillip Buchanon
-Washington Redskins agreed to terms with RB Willie Parker on a one-year contract
-Baltimore Ravens agreed to terms with DE Cory Redding on a two-year deal

These are some of the bigger moves that have happened the last two weeks. The NFL Draft is April 22nd so I am sure their will be more wheeling and dealing then. Stay tuned for more in the coming weeks.

Hockey Weekly

Well this is it, Hockey season is finally over and so is my fantasy season. I had a really great year for someone who usually doesn't follow hockey often. I finished in fourth place and can't complain about that. Here is what the final match up looked like.

New Champion Crowned at UFC 112

It was an interesting night at UFC 112 last night. Three spectactular fights and one of them had a new champion crowned at the end of it. The first big fight of the evening was a Welterweight bout between Matt Hughes and Renzo Gracie. It was a good fight until Hughes defeated him with 20 seconds left in the fight. Hughes hadn't fought in a year until last night and he looked better then ever.

The next fight was between B.J. Penn and Frankie Edgar for the Lightweight Championship. What a great fight that went all five rounds. I was really shocked that Edgar won the the belt and the unanimous decision. A lot of people felt that Penn should still be the champion. I am sure their will be a rematch down the road.

The Main Event of the evening absolutely pissed me off. Anderson Silva pretty much killed Damien Maia for five rounds. Anderson acted totally inappriopiately and the should have ended well before the final round even started. After the fight was over Dana White through the belt at Silva's manager and didn't present it to him like he does all of the other fighters. In my opinion the fans got robbed out of their money because the Main Event sucked. Unfortunately Silva won't fight for awhile and I'll be curious to see what Dana White does to punish Anderson Silva

UFC needs some good fights to make up for this one and fortunately they have some good fights coming up in the next few months. Stay tuned for more on this situation and other UFC fights.

Duke and UConn Win National Championships

The college basketball season is officially over and what great tournaments we had. Duke had a pretty impressive team this year but you can't take anything away from Butler. I really thought Butler could have and should have won the game. Butler would have was the cinderella team this year and what a story it would have been if they would have won it all. Congratulations to Duke and Coack K on their win.

Then there is the womens side and UConn. UConn has won 78 straight games en route to another National Championship. Stanford really gave the Huskies a run for their money. This team definitely has a place in basketball history. I'll be really anxious to see if they can get to 100. That's never been done before but never say never. If anyone is going to do it, it's going to be the UConn Huskies.

Congratulations to both UConn and Duke on their seasons and National Championships. They were both well earned and well deserved.

The Million Dollar Belt Returns

For the first time in fourteen years the Million Dollar Championship has been carried out to the ring by a wrestler in some sort of storyline. Ted DiBiase Jt. the son of the Million Dollar Man said his dad won him over by giving him the title. The belt made it's debut on March 4, 1989 when Ted DiBiase created after failing to win the WWE Championship numerous times. Only two other men until last night have held that title.

Virgil who DiBiase's bodyguard jumped out of his masters shadow in 1991 and defeated DiBiase at Summerslame 1991. The other man that held was The Ringmaster who eventually became Stone Cold Steve Austin. Having that title certainly launched the WWE career of Stone Cold.

I think having this title is going to be a great thing for Ted Jr. He needs something to help him stick out as a singles wrestler. I believe that the Million Dollar Title will help Teddy become just as great as a heel as his father was. Only time will tell if Teddy will do his father and that belt justice. WWE needed to bring a little bit of school into their new school attitude. Everyone has a price, and what price will the superstars of the WWE pay to try and take the title of the fortunate son. TNA Impact Recap 4/5/2010

All hell broke out in the Impact Zone last night. It all started out with Abyss, Jarrett and Hogan coming to the ring to talk about Lockdown. Ric Flair came out with his team of Sting, Desmond Wolfe and Beer Money. Jeff Jarrett confronted Sting about his actions and then Sting dropped Jarrett with the Scorpian Death Drop. A brawl ensued between Team Flair and Team Hogan. Jeff Jarrett, and RVD came out to complete team Hogan which led into the first match of the night.

Rob Van Dam took on James Storm and I must say it was a really solid match which saw RVD win the match. After the match Storm hit RVD with a beer bottle and Roode hit Hardy with a devastating spinebuster.

The next match was between Rob Terry and Homicide. Rob Terry totally dominates again but after the match Homicide blasts Rob Terry with a chair which doesn't even phase him. Rob Terry has a little bit of blood coming down but he loved every minute of it.

The third match is a LockBox Showdown between Angelina Love, Tara, Hamada and ODB against The Beautiful People and Daffney. This match was unique to say the least. There had to be four pinfalls in the match. The winner of each pinfall would get a key to a lockbox to revealed later on the evening. The four lockbox's contained one item each which included the TNA Knockouts title, an open contract, Tara's Spider Poision and a contract that says a striptease must be performed. The winners of the pinfalls were: Tara, Daffney, Velvet Sky and Angelina Love.

The next match was Kurt Angle versus Mr. Anderson in a Ladder Match to gain possession of the key to the cage door at Lockdown. This was an incredible match up between both men. I really love this feud but I would love it more if they didn't use the medal that Kurt Angle was given. They really need to stop using Warrior Medal as the basis of their feud. Hopefully the feud will end at Lockdown.

In an Number One Contenders Match Team 3D took on the MotorCity Machine Guns which ended in a DQ because the Band came out and took out Team 3D first and then the M.C.M.G after. Nash cut a promo saying that Hogan should be more worried about the Band then he should Sting, Flair or Bischoff. He said that the Band is running the show now.

The next match was between Generation Me and Doug Williams in a gauntlet match in which Williams would take on Jeremy and Max one at a timne. The Bucks are high flyers but it wasn't enough for Williams techincal skills who pinned both Max and Jeremy. After the match Williams was challanged by Shannon Moore for a match at Lockdown. Not sure if that match will happen but if it does, I am sure it will be great.

The Main Event of the evening was between D'Angelo Dinero and Desmond Wolfe. it was a very short match that saw The Pope winning but afterwards Desmond and AJ took out Pope and Abyss. Team Flair definitely has the advantage headed into Lockdown.

To close the evening the Knockouts opened up their Lockboxes and here is how it went down Velvet Sky recieved an Open Contract for any opponent, any time, any stipulation. Tara opens her box up and gets Poison back but realizes she is no longer TNA Knockouts Champion. Both Angelina and Daffney open their boxes up at the same time. Daffney has to perform a striptease and Angelina is the new Knockouts champion. Before Daffney could do her thing, Lacey came out and did her own striptease. Meanwhile, Tara and Angelina are fighting over the Knockouts title that Tara never lost. That's how the show ended.

Next week on Impact, Velvet Sky will take on Angelina Love in a Leather and Lace Match for the Knockouts Championship. Team 3D also challenged The Band to face them after The Band took them out last night. Check back next week for another Impact Recap.

2010 Basketball Hall of Fame

Today the class of 2010 Basketball Hall of Fame was announced. There are a lot of deserving players in this years class. Here is the list of those to be inducted into the Hall of Fame

Jerry Buss, Cynthia Cooper, Bob Hurley Sr., Karl Malone, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Johnson, Gus Johnson and Maciel “Ubiratan” Pereira. Also two teams will be inducted ans those two are 1960 USA Men’s Olympic team and the 1992 USA Basketball “Dream Team.”

Aa regards to Malone, and Pippen all I can say is, it's about time. They both had great careers. Malone often known as Mailman is probably one of the greatest players to never win a championship. Pippen won 6 championships as Michael Jordan's right hand man and is part of the one of the greatest teams to ever step on to the court.

I also think it's awesome that Olympic teams are being inducted ecspecially the "Dream Team." I was only seven years old when they won the gold but I have a lot of fond memories of watching them play. They dominated those Olympics. Their roster included:

David Robinson, Patrick Ewing, Larry Bird, Scottie Pippen, Michael Jordan, Clyde Drexler, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Chris Mullin, Charles Barkley, Earvin "Magic" Johnson, Jr., and Christian Laettner.

Congratulations to all this years Hall of Fame Inductees for the class of 2010. Everyone on the list is well deserving of the honor.

Donovan McNabb Traded to the Redskins

All I can say, is it's about time that Donovan McNabb has been traded. There has been talks for weeks about him being traded and now it's happened. He was traded to the Eagles division rival, the Washington Redskins. The Eagles recieved the Redskins second-round pick which is the 37th pick overall. McNabb brings leadership, playoff experience and a poise to win. That's something the Redskins haven't had in a long time at Quarterback.

McNabb has done a lot in his career so far including:

-Six time Pro Bowl selection (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009)
-2004 NFC Offensive Player of the Year
-Philadelphia Eagles 75th Anniversary Team
-NFC's Player of the Month 9/05

He has been with Philly since he was drafted there in 1999. I am really curious to see how the Redskins do with McNabb at QB. This could be the biggest move this offseason but we will have find out if pays off Stay tuned to find out.

Jack Swagger Wins World Heavyweight Championship

Last night on Smackdown Jack Swagger cashed in his Money in the Bank Briefcase and took advantage of a spear from Edge to Chris Jericho to capture for the World Heavyweight Championship. I believe this might be the shortest amount of time someone had that briefcase. Jack Swagger is a former All-American wrestler for the University of Oklahoma. He set the record for most pins in a single season with an astonishing 30. He made his pro wrestling debut on September 7, 2006 and since then he has moved up the ranks rather quickly. He has already won the ECW Championship and feuded with Matt Hardy, Tommy Dreamer, and Christian. When he moved to Raw last year he feuded with MVP and Kofi Kingston. Jack Swagger calls himself the All American, American and his amatuer wrestling roots have carried him to his first World Heavyweight Championship. It's ironic he's now wearing red, white and blue because I really think WWE is trying to turn Swagger into the next Kurt Angle. Kurt had a amatuer wrestling background and he still has an intensity about him that no one else has. Swagger has that unheard of intensity where you really can't describe it.

A lot of critics say that Jack Swagger doesn't have any personality but in the two hours of Smackdown last night, he developed a lot of personality with cockiness and better then anyone else attitude. I think he's a cross between Kurt Angle and Ken Anderson who ironically are feuding in TNA right now. It's about time that newer guys like Swagger, Miz, Sheamus are getting the spotlight put on them. The days of Triple H, Chris Jericho, Undertaker, and others of being champion are slowly coming to an end. Swagger is only 28 years old and I don't think he's even hit his prime yet. I think Jack Swagger is going to be to the next great superstar. He's the All American, American and now he's the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Congratulations to Jack Swagger on his title win.

Shawne Merriman to the WWE?

Lately I've been noticing a lot of talk about Shawne Merriman possibly going to the WWE at the end of the 2010 NFL season. A lot of this talk has heated up ever since Goldberg started his negotiations with the WWE. He said he would like to be tag team partners with Merriman. Merriman is only 25 years old and has already talk to Vince McMahon about the possiblilty. Merrmiman was a 1st round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft and has accomplished some things rather quickly including:

Three time Pro Bowl selection (2005, 2006, 2007)
Three time All-Pro selection (2005, 2006, 2007)

It is not uncommon for football players to become pro wrestlers. Here is a list of the men who have switched from football to pro wrestling:

Shawne Merriman would have a lot to live up to if he joined this list but I think he could. He's got the attitude, and he's got the look so I think he would do well.
