Open Letter to Quinton "Rampage" Jackson

To Quinton "Rampage" Jackson:

After watching your recent explosion on the Ultimate Fighter, it would appear that you made the right decision to quit the UFC all together. However you should have quit after you fought Rashad Evans. Everything Rashad has said about you is true. He said he was going to make you quit your career and sure enough he did. You can make all the excuses you want about making the A-Team movie or saying you quit because of the fans. The fans are the ones who support you and make you money so can have a good life.

I've always thought you were somewhat overrated to begin with. People made a big deal about you beating Wanderlei Silva but it wasn't a big deal because Silva pretty much killed you the first two times you met. Granted you have beaten Chuck Liddell, Keith Jardine, Kevin Randleman, and Dan Henderson. However could beat Rashad Evans, Lyoto Machida, Mauricio Rua, and even Tito Ortiz? Perhaps we will never know because you decided to quit like a little baby.

You talked all this trash about you could knockout Rashad Evans but no you won't back it up. You're a coward for running away like a little punk. UFC 106 was suppose to headlined by you and Rashad Evans but now it is headlined by a Lightweight Championship bout between BJ Penn (c) and Diego Sanchez. That's a good fight but not one that should headline the last fight of the year. It should have been Evans vs. Jackson. I hope someday you wake up and look in the mirror and realize how stupid you really are for quitting. I hope you also realize that you are a coward and everything Rashad said about you and did to you was true. If you are any kind of a fighter you would fight Rashad Evans and prove that you are as good as you say you are. The UFC and MMA does not need you. You're no big lost. You'll eventually come to realize that you need the UFC and MMA for you to even be relevant in the world. Good luck Rampage, I hope you know what you're doing.

Hollywood Joe Williamson

On a side note, Rampage Jackson will be sentenced on January 7, 2010 for felony reckless driving, and felony hit and run after striking several vehicles. If he is convicted he could face up to 3 years in prison. Just thought I'd throw that out there. The incident he's being charged with happened ten days after he lost the Light Heavyweight Championship to Forrest Griffin in 2008. What bothers me about this, is Dana White and the UFC should have gotten rid of him then but they didn't. They helped him out and gave me another chance to redeem himself. This is how he repays the favor. He walks out on the company and the fans that supported him.

Two Huge Matches Signed for Survivor Series

On November 22nd, it will truly be a night to remember when Survivor Series is on pay-per-view. WWE has not had two pay-per-views back to back that have been solid and have been worth watching in a long time. WWE Bragging Rights was a good pay-per-view despite what anyone says. Now they are building up Survivor Series to be one great show. The first match was announced this past Monday on Raw and it my opinion it could go down as the greatest WWE Championship match of all time.

It will be WWE Champion John Cena taking on Triple H and Shawn Michaels in a triple threat match. Triple and HBK are still in DX mode and an inevitable breakup of the group is foreseen. There is a lot of history in this match. Cena defeated HHH and HBK at Wrestlemania's 22 and 23 respectively. HHH and HBK have had some great matches in the past and will be probably recapture the magic they have always has opponents. As a wrestling fan I would like to see Shawn Michaels win the WWE Championship again. The Showstopper has only held the four times in great career and has not held a World Championship since 2002. Triple H is a 13 time champion and John Cena is now a 7 time champion. I personally think Shawn still has the best matches, still tells the best stories in the ring and is still loved by more people then just about anyone on the WWE roster. This match could easily go down as one of the best matches of all time. A lot of people still think that the greatest triple threat match of all time was HHH vs. HBK vs. Benoit at Wrestlemania 20. I think WWE is trying to make sure this match has that same feeling. No one really expects Shawn to win the match but you never know. Anything is possible pro wrestling.

This is not the only triple threat match at Survivor Series. Last night at the Smackdown tapings it was determined that the World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker would be defending against the Big Show and Chris Jericho. This will mark the 19th anniversary since The Undertakers arrival in the WWE. He's done a lot of great things since then and will continue to do so until he retires. However the Big Show has had a lot of success at Survivor Series. In 1999, he defeated Triple H and The Rock for the WWE Championship after defeating a whole entire team earlier in the night. Then in 2002, Big Show handed Brock Lesnar his first lost and won the WWE Championship in the process. Could this be the Big Shows night once again. Will will have to wait and see.

It's kind of weird that they are breaking up DX and the unified tag team champions. I think some big things are going to happen for everyone involved in these two huge main event matches. The WWE is really trying to get momentum again. Look at all thats happened. Shane McMahon has left, Linda McMahon has left and the other wrestling company is making moves to get themselves noticed. The WWE is looking to pull out all the stops and get fans interested again. The crazy thing is that this is only part of the pay-per-view. There are four to five matches left to be announced. This is truly going to be an awesome PPV and on November 22nd I will be watching. Stay tuned for more matches to be announced.

Hulk Hogan Signs With TNA Wrestling

In a shocking announcement yesterday Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff have signed with TNA Wrestling. Finally the talking is done and something has been done. This is huge for TNA Wrestling. I know a lot of people say Hogan is old and washed up but he's still a name, he is still one of the greatest of all time. With Hogan and Bischoff in TNA, other stars who were fired by WWE will probably have a chance to be in TNA. I think TNA is small competition for WWE. The biggest thing that Hogan and Bischoff need to do is not go into this with the mind frame of not trying to put Vince McMahon and WWE out of business. They need to worry about making TNA a better business, and not worry about the WWE.

This definitely has gotten my attention and the attention of wrestling fans worldwide. I believe TNA has finally gotten where at where they can be considered a great wrestling company. I will definitely be watching TNA Impact and see how this develops. Could the wrestling wars be started again? Hulkamania is running wild again and TNA Whatcha Gonna Do when Hulkamania Runs Wild on You?

NFL Week 7 Recap

Well there were a lot of blowouts this week and one team is no long undefeated. The Steelers beat the Vikings giving them their first lost of the year. The Saints and the Dolphins played one heck of a game Sunday which saw New Orleans remain undefeated. The Buffalo Bills beat the Carolina Panthers which disgusts me in every way imaginable. Tampa Bay and St. Louis still haven't won a game and Washington, Oakland, and Kansas City still look like they shouldn't win any games period. In fantasy football this week it was better. In My Yahoo League here is how it turned out.

Hollywood's Rejects 167.36
Just 'till Hockey 134.49

My highest point earner was Pittsburgh's defense. This win put me at 3-4 for the year which isn't to bad I guess. In my ESPN league I lost again but barely.

Hollywoods World of Sports (HWOO) (1-6)53
Chaaa- gers. (PAUL)(2-5) 56

My highest point earner was Ricky Williams who did some damage this week. He had three touchdowns. I am now 1-6 in the ESPN League with no hopes of even winning it. There are a lot of teams with no hope of winning. Teams like the Lions, Browns, Raiders, Rams, Redskins and the Bucs. I feel like all of those teams. The teams I want to feel like are the Broncos, Colts and Saints. They are actually getting the job done this year. Well I will be back with my predictions tomorrow so stay tuned for that.

Breaking News: Lesnar-Carwin Fight Postponed

Due to Brock Lesnar being very ill and having to miss a month of training he has pulled out of his UFC Heavyweight Title match against Shane Carwin for UFC 106 in November. Fortunately the return of Tito Ortiz taking on Forrest Griffin is also on that same card so atleast they have a solid match to headline the show. One has to wonder what fight will replace it. The UFC promised two big matches for this show and now there is only one. It will be interesting to see who fights at UFC 106. Stay tuned for more on this story.

A New Opponent for Tito Ortiz at UFC 106

It was announced a few weeks ago that Mark Coleman will not be fighting Tito Ortiz at UFC 106 in Tito's return match. Tito Ortiz is now facing Forrest Griffin. This is not the first time they have fought. They fought at UFC 59: Reality Check and Tito won by by split decision with scores of 30-27, 28-29, 29-27. I remember watching this fight and it was a classic. I thought Griffin won but the judges did not see it that way. Forrest Griffin has not been seen or heard from since his embarrassing lost against Anderson Silva at UFC 101. Griffin has lost his last two fights. The other one was against Rashad Evans at UFC 92 when Griffin lost the UFC Light Heavyweight Title. Tito's last appearance was at UFC 84: Ill Will when he lost to Lyoto Machida. Ortiz has not won a fight in three years and that was against Ken Shamrock at Ortiz vs. Shamrock 3: The Final Chapter which was on Spike TV. Both fighters have a lot to prove in this fight and I cannot wait to see what happens when they fight again. That's not the only big match at UFC 106.

There will also a match for the UFC Heavyweight Championship between Brock Lesnar (c) and challenger Shane Carwin. A lot has been said by both men leading up to this fight but if you ask me Lesnar will win. Carwin has not fought anyone big like Mir, Couture, or Herring. Lesnar has fought all three men and beat them convincingly. It will be a one sided fight and Lesnar will easily retain his title. Some other notable fights include:

Middleweight bout: Kendall Grove vs. Jake Rosholt
Light Heavyweight bout: Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Luiz Arthur Cane

This should be a very good UFC pay-per-view and I cannot wait to see it. It will be a November to remember for the UFC.

Poll Results

In my recent poll I had asked "What is the best match in WWE so far this year?" The results are in.

50 percent voted Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker at Wrestlemania 25
39 percent voted Rey Mysterio vs. John Morrison on Smackdown
7 percent voted for Other
4 percent voted for TLC Match between Jeff Hardy and CM Punk at Summerslam

Thanks for voting and continue to voice your opinion on any polls you see on here.

UFC 104 Ruined by Judges Decision

I waited to write about this until I watched the fight a couple of times and read what others had to say about it. The fight between Lyoto Machida vs. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua was absolutely awesome and it went all five rounds. I felt though Rua was the aggressor in the fight and showed more dominance in parts of the fight. In the last round neither of them did much because their respective corners told them they were winning on points. Machida won the fight by unanimous decision 48-47 which was absolutely the wrong call. I don't know what fight the judges were watching because Rua definitely won the fight. Even Dana White stated that he thought Shogun won the fight. In my opinion there needs to be a rematch and I also feel that title is now disputed because of the outcome of the fight. Machida better thank those judges like there is no tomorrow. What an absolute horrible result of a good fight.

The other match that really upset me was Cain Velasquez taking on Ben Rothwell. The match was getting exciting and the referee Steve Mazzagatti stopped it way to early again when Rothwell was struggling on the ground. Steve Mazzagatti needs to be fired immediately. He has ruined so many matches and cost a number of fighters victories. In this case he could have cost Rothwell a victory even though many thought Velasquez was going to win anyways. Apparently Velasquez faces the winner of Lesnar-Carwin.

UFC 104 was good but not great because of outcomes. It will be interesting to see when the rematch takes place between Machida and Rua. When it does there will be fireworks.

Hockey Weekly

Well this week was my first week was my first official week of playing Fantasy Hockey and it did not go well. Here is how it looked.

Greg's World of HOCKEY 9-0-1
Hollywood's World of Sports 0-9-1

My biggest problem is I didn't do any match up acquisitions against my opponent thus costing me a lot almost every category. The one category we did tie was points per game. My players of the week were:

Zach Parise, Patrick Marleau, and Marc-Andre Fleury. They made good contributions for me. This week however I need to make some changes. I need to make use of my 7 match up acquisitions for the week. I think if I do this I will be very successful in winning or put myself in contention for winning my match-ups. This week should be better for me but we will have to wait and see. Stay tuned for next week to see if my strategy pays off.

Yankees-Phillies in the World Series

The Fall Classic is now set and this year it is the Philadelphia Phillies, who are the defending World Champions taking the New York Yankees. This World Series is going to be one for the ages. Both teams have great pitching, great offense and great defense. In my opinion the two best teams are in the World Series this year. There are no flukes, no Cinderella stories and no lucky hot streaks this year. In my opinion this could be one of the greatest World Series ever. I think it will go all seven games with it being a very close game. I am not going to predict a winner except that the real winners are the baseball fans who end up watching the series.

The World Series starts Wednesday Night in Yankee Stadium because of the A.L. winning the All Star game. It should be interesting to see who the Phillies use as their DH. The pitching match up couldn't be any better. It will be CC Sabathia vs. Cliff Lee in probably a pitchers duel that will stand the test of time. There will also be some other great pitchers in this series like AJ Burnett, Andy Pettitte, and Pedro Martinez. You also can't forget about Mariano Rivera who is the greatest postseason pitcher that's ever played. I am really going to enjoy this series. I just got a great feeling about this World Series. This is truly going to be a classic.

WWE Bragging Rights Recap

Last night was the very first Bragging Rights PPV and it did not let down. I first have to comment on the setup of the ring. The ring look really awesome. Half of it was blue, and half of it was red but the way the said it up was totally awesome.

The first match of the night was The Miz taking on John Morrison. They played this match off like the Rockers breakup because both men are similar to Jannetty and Michaels. It was a great match between the former tag champs but in the end The Miz won and got Raw started off to great night. The Miz may have won but in my mind John Morrison hasn't even reached his prime yet. His career is just beginning and the Miz is getting there too. It was a good solid match that both men should be proud of.

Next was the Raw Divas versus the Smackdown Divas. This was actually a really good match which saw the Smackdown Divas defeat the Raw Divas. It's good to see both Smackdown and Raw have good Diva's divisions on their shows. Melina and Michelle McCool are both great champions and make it fun to watch.

Then you had the World Heavyweight Championship Match between The Undertaker, Batista, Rey Mysterio and CM Punk. This match was fast pace that saw an implosion between Rey and Batista. CM Punk was doing everything he could do to win back the World Title but in the end The Undertaker won the match and retained his title. After the match Batista said he was tired of Rey costing him the title and stabbing him in the back and unleashed his anger on Rey saying their friendship was over. I for one am happy to see Batista turn heel. It's long overdue and maybe WWE will start using him in the manner that he was once used when he was in Evolution.

Up next was the 7 on 7 Raw vs. Smackdown tag team match for the Bragging Rights Cup. It was a good match that saw everyone involved. It was very fast pace as well and you didn't have time to blink in the match. The one thing I loved is when the Hart Dynasty did the modified Hart Attack to Shawn Michaels. It brought back so many memories of when The Rockers and Hart Foundation collided in 1990. I also enjoyed watching the David Hart Smith in the ring with Shawn Michaels. That also brought back some memories of watching Shawn Michaels take on Davids father the British Bulldog in some very classic matches. In the end when a melee broke between both teams Kofi Kingston was looking to put Chris Jericho away and win it for team Raw. Before he could the Big Show turned on team Raw and helped his tag team partner and Team Smackdown win the match and the bragging rights. I was in absolute shock considering Smackdown changed most of its team 2 nights before the pay-per-view. This will probably set up Chris Jericho/Big Show defending their Unified Tag Team Titles again DX in the near future, probably at Survivor Series.

One title, one hour, and one rivalry that was finally going to end. WWE Champion Randy Orton and John Cena has become a fun rivalry to watch. This match was what I thought it would be and that was an all out fight with some brutality. It's really hard to talk about an hour long match but for most of it Randy Orton dominated but Cena caught Orton by surprise a few times during the match. The last 20 minutes of the match was insane and with four seconds left Randy Orton tapped out giving John Cena a 6-5 lead which meant John Cena stays on Raw and is once again the WWE Champion. With Randy Orton not allowed anymore rematches against Cena who will be next challenger for Cena's WWE title? Only time will tell.

It was a very solid pay-per-view in which I would give 8 out of 10 stars. It is really hard to wrestle for 60 minutes. I don't care what anyone says but the match was fun to watch. Obviously nothing will ever top Shawn vs. Bret but for the styles Orton and Cena have they did an awesome job. The only thing left to say is that Champ is here.

WWE Bragging Rights Predictions

Tomorrow night is WWE Bragging Rights the first time this pay per view is taking place. It is taking the place of what use to be known as Cyber Sunday or Taboo Tuesday. There are some great matches tomorrow night and it could potentially be the best overall pay-per-view of the year. So lets get down to business with my predictions.

SmackDown vs. Raw WWE Bragging Rights Tag Match
This is a 7 on 7 tag team match, one fall to a finish so it's going to awhile. On Smackdown you have Chris Jericho, Kane, Matt Hardy, Finlay, R-Truth and The Hart Dynasty’s David Hart Smith and Tyson Kidd. On Raw you have Triple H, Shawn Michaels Big Show, Mark Henry, Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger and Kofi Kingston. Both teams are loaded with talent and I believe this could be the craziest and funnest match to watch this year. In the end DX will prevail for team Raw and don't be surprise if you see Big Show and Chris Jericho turn on each other once and for all.

World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker vs. CM Punk vs. Batista vs. Rey Mysterio (Fatal Four Way Match)
Four different personalities, and styles who all have a legitimate case for why they should be World Heavyweight Champion. CM Punk is the only heel in this match but I don't see him winning. Both the World Heavyweight Championship and WWE Championship have changed hand too many times this year so I believe The Undertaker will retain the World Heavyweight Championship.

WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena (One Hour, Anything Goes WWE Iron Man Match)
This will not be a classic like Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels was. Then again I've been wrong before. This has been one rivalry I've enjoyed because they always come up with new ways to torture each other and make the rivalry. I believe Randy Orton will retain the WWE Championship and force John Cena to go to Smackdown. I say this because again the Championship has changed hands too many times this year. Randy Orton will cement his legacy tomorrow night as being one of the greatest WWE Champions of all time.

Intercontinental Champion John Morrison vs. United States Champion The Miz
Unfortunately there are no titles on the line in this, but only the bragging rights of who is better. These former tag team partners and champions will steal the show and prove why they should be getting pushed a little bit harder. I believe John Morrison will win this match and go on to do some great things in his career. The Miz has gotten a lot better and is a very credible heel. I just don't think he is a future World Champion like John Morrison is. Morrison wins and proves once in for all who was the leader of their team.

Raw Divas vs. SmackDown Divas Tag Team Match
Melina, Gail Kim, and Kelly are representing Raw in this match. While on Smackdown Michelle McCool, Beth Phoenix and Natalya look to prove why they are the dominant Divas. This could actually be the greatest Diva's match to date. I think the Smackdown Diva's win because they got the better raw talent.

So there you have it, my predictions for tomorrow night. Some notable names not on the show tomorrow night include MVP, Ted Dibiase, and Christian. No ECW match at all tomorrow night so we will have to wait until Survivor Series. I think you're going to see a few surprises and a few shockers. Tomorrow night is going to be great and like I said this has the potential to be a great pay-per-view if it's done right. I will be at Buffalo Wild Wings tomorrow night on 28th st. in Grand Rapids for the show. Come join me if you want to see an awesome pay-per-view.

ESPN Fantasy Baseball Results

With the World Series just a week away I thought I'd take the time to recap my year in Fantasy Baseball. This is the first year I played and it showed. I went 5-17 and was tied for last place. However I finished in 5th place because I won the consolation ladder in the playoffs. It was a fun year even though I struggled. Here were my leaders for the year.

Home Runs- Brandon Inge with 22
RBI's- Jorge Cantu with 61
Stolen Bases- Alex Rios with 12
Game Winning RBI's- Jorge Cantu with 12
Grand Slam Home Runs- Russell Martin, Brandon Inge, and Victor Martinez all had one
Runs-Kosuke Fukudome with 68
Troy Tulowitzki did manage to hit for the cycle while he was on my team. That was probably the week I actually won a game.
Fantasy Points- Jorge Cantu with 109

Now on to pitching which was really my strong point this year. Here were my leaders this year in pitching

Wins- Andy Pettitte with 14
Strike Outs- Joe Blanton with 157
Quality Starts- Jair Jurrjens with 24
Innings Pitched- Jair Jurrjens with 208
Complete Games- Scott Richmond, Aaron Harang, Carlos Zambrano, Edwin Jackson and Jason Marquis all had one Complete Game while they pitched for me.
Saves- Francisco Rodriguez with 38
Fantasy Points- Jair Jurrjens with 519.

As you can Jair Jurrjens really did good for me this year and had a great year. Joe Blanton and Andy Pettite are both still in the playoffs so that proves how valuable they were to me this year. I picked up on a lot of the strategy people use in Fantasy Baseball. Obviously by my record I didn't have a lot to brag about but it was still fun to compete. There is always next year and believe me I will be playing again next year. Until next spring, no more fantasy baseball.

NFL Week 7 Predictions

Well Week 7 is nearing close and there are some whacked out match ups that I am having a hard time decided but anyways here we go.

Green Bay Packers over Cleveland Browns
San Diego Chargers over Kansas City Chiefs
San Fransisco 49ers over Houston Texans
Indianapolis Colts over St. Louis Rams
Minnesota Vikings over Pittsburgh Steelers
New England Patriots over Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Carolina Panthers over Buffalo Bills
New York Jets over Oakland Raiders
Cincinatti Bengals over Chicago Bears
Atlanta Falcons over Dallas Cowboys
New Orleans Saints over Miami Dolphins
New York Giants over Arizona Cardinals
Philadelphia Eagles over Washington Redskins

As always check back on Tuesdays for the weekly recap.

Changes to Team Smackdown for Bragging Rights

After last night's Smackdown tapings Team Smackdown has made some major changes. Before it was Drew McIntyre, Cryme Tyme, and Eric Escobar, and Dolph Ziggler. I never liked this team to begin with because of Escobar and McIntyre. Cryme Tyme was not a good mix for this team either The only one I would have kept is Dolph Ziggler but he's not even going to be in it. Here is the five new guys who are now on Team Smackdown. The Hart Dynasty, Finlay, Matt Hardy & R-Truth will be added to the mix with Chris Jericho and Kane. That looks like more of a formidable team then the other one did. The one thing I want to see is the Hart Dynasty vs. DX because of the history there. Remember the 97 Survivor Series? I am sure the Hart Dynasty does. Team Smackdown is now a lot better then what it was initially going in. I cannot wait for Bragging Right this Sunday. It's going to be a monumental night. Who will win the Bragging Rights for the WWE? Tune in to find out.

NFL Week 6 Recap

The first thing I have to say is 59 to 0. That's what Tom Brady and the New England Patriots did to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday in cold snowy Foxboro. It was one of the most ridiculous games I have ever seen. Brady and the Patriots tied and broke a few records in that game which we probably won't see be done for a long time. The shockers of the week were the Bills over the Jets and the Raiders over the Eagles. The teams the remain undefeated are the Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos. Maybe this could a sign of things to come. The two remaining the teams that have not won a game are the St. Louis Rams and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Speaking of not winning. It was another horrible week in fantasy football for me. In my Yahoo League here is how it turned out.

Hollywood's Rejects 180.07
Havoc 208.50

My highest point earner was Drew Brees, QB from the New Orleans Saints. Does that surprise you? It doesn't surprise me. Drew has been on fire all year long and I am glad I have him at the helm. Right now my record is 2-4 on Yahoo.

On ESPN it's not much better. Here is how the week turned out on my ESPN league.

Ricky's Dope Connect (DOPE)(4-2) 74
Hollywoods World of Sports (HWOO)(1-5) 49

My highest point earner was Hakeem Nicks, WR from the New York Giants. I had a horrible week especially with Sanchez playing horrible for me. In my predictions I guessed 9 out of 14 correctly. Still not happy with that. That makes me 57 for 76 this year. Not great but not good either. Well I will be back tomorrow with my week 7 predictions. Maybe you can all pray that I have a better week in my football picks.

Four Athletes on Celebrity Apprentice

In the Spring of 2010 the 3rd season of Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice will air. This year it features four athletes that you might know. The athletes are former baseball player Darryl Strawberry, former swimmer Summer Sanders, former football player and pro wrestler Bill Goldberg and WWE Diva Maria Kanellis. All of them have had successful careers but they are not the only big names in this contest. Other participants include Sharon Osbourne, Cyndi Lauper, Sinbad and Bret Michaels. That is a good cast of characters for this upcoming season.

This is not the first time athletes have appeared on the Celebrity Apprentice. In the second season it featured Herschel Walker, Natalie Gulbis, Dennis Rodman, and Scott Hamilton. In the first season the athletes that appeared were Lennox Lewis, Tito Ortiz, Jennie Finch and Nadia Comaneci.

I will be very curious to see which athlete survives the longest in this upcoming season of the Celebrity Apprentice. I am hoping that Goldberg wins. That would be sweet. Stay tuned for more on this and when the show starts.

Hollywood's Fantasy Hockey Team

This past weekend I had my fantasy Hockey Draft and it did not turn out pretty. I had to redo my roster because most of the guys I drafted were injured. Here are the guys I have now. I don't know much about Hockey and the players but I am doing to do my best to let you know whats going on in the Hockey world. So here is my team that I have currently.

Zach Parise, NJ F
Dany Heatley, SJ F
Martin St. Louis, TB F
Patrick Marleau, SJ F
Jamie Langenbrunner, NJ F
Chris Drury, NYR F
Milan Hejduk, Col F
Jason Williams, Det F
R.J. Umberger, Cls F
Scott Niedermayer, Ana D
Shea Weber, Nsh D
Joe Corvo, Car D
Matt Niskanen, Dal D
Marian Hossa*, Chi F
Paul Kariya, StL F
Daniel Cleary, Det F
Jonathan Ericsson, Det D
Ed Jovanovski, Pho D
Marc-Andre Fleury, Pit G
Chris Osgood, Det G
Miikka Kiprusoff, Cgy G
Martin Biron, NYI G

What's really weird about the fantasy league is the draft took place two weeks after the seasons started and the computer simulated all the results for the two weeks we missed based on who we initially drafted. So as of right now I am 17-10-3. The difference in hockey and basketball then baseball and football is that basketball and hockey is that your wins are based on how many categories you win, not how many points you score. It's quite interesting. In hockey there are ten possible categories you can win and in basketball there are eight. This is on ESPN's fantasy sports where I do all my fantasy sports.

So every Monday until the seasons are over I will have a Basketball Weekly and Hockey Weekly recapping my fantasy teams and other things going on in both sports. Stay tuned. It should be a fun year for me and all the Fantasy sports I am involved with.

Top Ranked Teams Pushed to the Limit

There were some great College Football games this week that probably did more to shake up the BCS standings then any other week this year. There some battles including the Red River Battle between Oklahoma and Texas. Texas won 16-13 but what's even worst is that Sam Bradford is injured once again and it's on the same shoulder he injured once before this year. Oklahoma is surprisingly still in the top 25 with 3 loses. The Florida Gators had a battle with Arkansas but won 23-20. USC had a great game with Notre Dame which saw the luck of the Irish run out. USC wins 34-27 and proves they are still a team to beat.

The upsets of the week might be Purdue over Ohio State. OSU was ranked 7 going in but dropped significantly. Texas Tech beat Nebraska 31-10. Colorado beat Kansas 34-30. So here are the current BCS rankings after all the action this week.

BCS Standings

1 Florida 6-0
2 Alabama 7-0
3 Texas 6-0
4 Boise State 6-0
5 Cincinnati 6-0
6 Iowa 7-0
7 USC 5-1
8 TCU 6-0
9 LSU 5-1
10 Miami (FL) 5-1
11 Oregon 5-1
12 Georgia Tech 6-1
13 Penn State 6-1
14 Virginia Tech 5-2
15 Oklahoma State 5-1
16 Brigham Young 6-1
17 Houston 5-1
18 Utah 5-1
19 Ohio State 5-2
20 Pittsburgh 6-1
21 Wisconsin 5-2
22 Arizona 4-2
23 West Virginia 5-1
24 South Carolina 5-2
25 Kansas 5-1

There are some match ups next week that could shake things up even more.

No. 13 Penn State at Michigan
No. 8 TCU at No. 16 Brigham Young
Oklahoma at No. 25 Kansas

The year is almost half over in College Football and it's been an exciting year so far. The one team that has remained at top of the standings is Florida and the only way they will be beat is if they beat themselves. I think Florida is definitely going to be in the BCS Championship game. As for who will join them, I think that is still up in the air. Only time will tell so stay tuned

Hollywood's Fantasy Basketball Team

This morning I had my ESPN Fantasy Basketball Draft and it turned out pretty good from vantage point. I went in with a certain strategy and got the players I wanted to get. Here is who I ended picking for Hollywood's World of Sports.

Steve Nash, Pho PG
Ben Gordon, Det SG
Ron Artest, LAL SF
Blake Griffin, LAC PF
Dwight Howard, Orl C
Ray Allen, Bos SG
Trevor Ariza, Hou SF
Raymond Felton, Cha PG
Richard Jefferson, SA SF
Shaquille O'Neal, Cle C
Nate Robinson, NY PG, SG
Larry Hughes, NY SG
Tyson Chandler*, Cha C

I really like my team, because they are all solid team players and they all put up consistent numbers. I didn't want to draft any real major superstars and then be stuck with players that don't do much. I wanted to find players who are in the middle of between being a superstar and mediocre. I believe I have a great shot of winning this whole thing this year. It's going to be highly competitive because most of the rosters are stacked solid. I am really excited for Fantasy Basketball, more so then any other of the sports I am involved with. As they say in the commercials, I love this game.

Shane McMahon Resigns from WWE

In a shocking announcement Shane McMahon, the WWE's Executive Vice President, Global Media has decided to resign effective January 1, 2010. I am shocked at this and wonders why Shane would leave a company that his father and grandfather built up for him to run someday. Shane McMahon has been huge part in WWE's success over the years. He has also been great for TV. If you have ever seen a Shane McMahon match you walked thinking, he's crazy. He's feuded with some of the greats in this business including Randy Orton and The Legacy, D-Generation X, Kurt Angle and more. He had some crazy matches with Test and Steve Blackman and he also held the Hardcore Championship and the European Championship. I will never forget the match he had with father Vince McMahon at Wrestlemania 17. It was actually one of the best matches I've seen with the McMahon's involved.

Shane McMahon can take a lot of credit for making WWE the global phenomenon that it is today. He was always traveling trying to promote the WWE in different countries and helping getting them on TV in other countries. So why is Shane deciding to leave? Here is my answer and my opinion on that. I think he realizes wrestling can't get any higher then it is now. Wrestling reached it's last highpoint in 2001. Ever since WCW was bought out in 2001 wrestling has never been the same. Wrestling use to be cutting edge, expect the unexpected and it wasn't repetitive. They were always doing new things and kept you on the edge of their seat. WWE and pro wrestling are not like that anymore. I think Shane see all of this and decided to pursue something else. Wouldn't it be interesting if he went to the UFC? He's been seen at their events many times and is a big fan of it. Whatever Shane does I know he will be successful. I mean come on he's a McMahon. It will be very hard to replace Shane and his presence in the WWE. I wish nothing but the best for Shane McMahon and hope someday he might come back to the WWE. To who ever gets Shane in their company all I got to say is "Here Comes the Money."

Predictions for Baseball Awards

So we are in the postseason of the playoffs and it is down to the final four team. Phillies-Dodgers and Yankees-Angels. During this time a lot of awards are announced. However none have been announced so far except for comeback player of the year which was won by Aaron Hill and Chris Carpenter. Here are my predictions on how I think the awards will end up.

AL Rookie of the Year- Rick Porcello
NL Rookie of the Year-Andrew McCutchen
AL MVP- Derek Jeter or Joe Mauer....torn between the two of them
NL MVP- Ryan Howard
AL Cy Young- Zack Greinke
NL Cy Young- Tim Lincecum
AL Manager of the Year- Mike Scioscia
NL Manager of the Year- Jim Tracey
ALCS MVP- Alex Rodriguez
NLCS MVP- Andre Either

All of these players and managers deserve these awards. Most of the guys on here are still in the playoffs and made a huge impact for their team during the year. The World Series MVP is hard to predict right now but here are the scenarios I am looking at depending on which team wins.

Dodgers- Manny Ramirez
Phillies- Jayson Werth
Yankees- Alex Rodriguez
Angels- Torii Hunter

I think both championship series are going seven games and I think they are both going to be classics that will stand the test of time. It does not matter which two teams play in the World Series because whatever possible match-up there is, it's a win-win situation for baseball. Each team is very popular and has players on it people love to watch. People love Jeter, Manny, Chase Utley and Vladimir Guerrero. Each time has one or two players on it that everyone loves to watch. The NLCS begins tonight and the ALCS tomorrow night. It's going to be great TV and great baseball. I wouldn't want to miss it.

R.I.P. Capt. Lou Albano

This morning professional wrestling lost one of it's greatest managers to ever grace the squared circle. Capt. Lou Albano passed away at the age of 76 but on a legacy of crazy rubber band facial piercings, and loud outfits. He was also instrumental in ushering the Rock N Wrestling Connection. He had a great friendship with Cyndi Lauper, who was apart of the first Wrestlemania. Capt. Lou also starred in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show which was based on the video games that had come out. Capt Lou managed some great wrestling including:

Don Muraco
Greg Valentine
Pat Patterson
The Valiant Brothers
The Wild Samoans
Mr. Fuji
Mr. Saito,
The Executioners
The Moondogs
The U.S. Express
British Bulldogs
The Headshrinkers

He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996 and took part in the first 2 Wrestlemania's. Capt. Lou Albano was unique and definitely ahead of his time. People loved him, hated him, but more importantly the respected him. Capt. Lou Albano was just such a good guy. I'll never forget when Capt. Lou challenged King Kong Bundy to a pie eating contest. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen in wrestling. The funny thing about it is he actually beat Bundy in the contest. The last time Capt. Lou was on WWE TV was when they had Mr. McMahon appreciation night in June 2007. Lou Albano was a celebrity in his own right and made a name for himself outside of wrestling as well. Capt. Lou Albano will always be remembered for his unique interviews, his unique fashion sense and the fact that he managed so many great wrestlers. He lived a good life and had a great career. He was Capt. Lou and he was always talking to you.

NFL Week 6 Predictions

Well week 6 features some interesting games especially one game that has two undefeated teams playing against each other. Here is how I see week 6 playing out.

Cincinnati Bengals over Houston Texans
Green Bay Packers over Detroit Lions
Minnesota Vikings over Baltimore Ravens

Carolina Panthers over Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Washington Redskins over Kansas City Chiefs
Jacksonville Jaguars over St. Louis Rams
Pittsburgh Steelers over Cleveland Browns
Seattle Seahawks over Arizona Cardinals
Philadelphia Eagles over Oakland Raiders
New York Jets over Buffalo Bills
New England Patriots over Tennessee Titans
Atlanta Falcons over Chicago Bears
Denver Broncos over San Diego Chargers

So there you have it week 6. The Saints and Giants will be a great game and after that one of them will have their first lost of the season. It should be a fun game to watch. I'll be back with the recap on Tuesday.

Raw vs. Smackdown at Bragging Rights and More

At Bragging Rights there will be a 14-man tag team match between Raw and Smackdown to determine who is the superior brand. This is not the first time Raw vs. Smackdown has collided. They had a 5 on 5 Survivor Series match back in 2005 with Randy Orton being the sole survivor. However four years later superstars have changed brands, and different alliances formed but the show loyalty is still there. Here is how Raw and Smackdown matchup.

Team Raw
Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Big Show, Mark Henry, Jack Swagger, Kofi Kingston and Cody Rhodes.

Team Smackdown
Chris Jericho, Kane, Dolph Ziggler, JTG, Shad, Eric Escobar, and Drew McIntyre.

I really like the mixture of a few veterans and a lot of young guys who need to be pushed and developed into bigger stars. I think you're going to see some craziness in this match for sure. I think Team Raw will win just because they have guys that have made more of an impact. If Smackdown would have had Matt Hardy and Finlay they would have looked more credible and looked more convincing enough to have a chance of beating Raw. Who knows, maybe thats what they want us to think. However this match is not the only Raw vs. Smackdown match taking place.

The Intercontinental Champion John Morrison will be taking on the United States Champion The Miz. Morrison is on Smackdown and Miz is on Raw. They use to be tag team partners and three time tag team champions. I think this match has the potential to be match of the night or atleast a show stealer. Also Diva's Champion Melina will be taking on Women's Champion Michelle McCool. Melina was just traded back to Raw and won the championship in a matter of a few minutes and Michelle McCool is on Smackdown where she's held the Woman's title for quite some time now.

Bragging Rights is on Oct. 25th on pay-per-view. I will be watching at the 28th St. Buffalo Wild Wings in Grand Rapids. I will have my predictions next Saturday on who I think will win. This pay-per-view could be the best this year. We will have to wait and find out who deserves the Bragging Rights of the WWE.

NFL Week 5 Recap

I have to start out by mentioning the Indianapolis Colts, New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, Minnesota Vikings and the Denver Broncos. If you would asked me a couple of weeks ago if all of these teams would have been undefeated at the end of week 5 I would have called you crazy. The Bronco's are the biggest surprise on that list and the put all their doubters to rest this weekend when they beat New England in overtime. The Minnesota Vikings along with Brett Favre ran by St. Louis and the Giants blew out the Raiders. Next week there will be a battle of two undefeated teams and it will be the New York Giants taking on the New Orleans Saints. I cannot wait for that. The Detroit Lions actually looked good against Pittsburgh this weekend. They fell apart with five minutes to go so it's an improvement. Finally the Carolina Panthers get a win, even though it was a sloppy win against the Washington Redskins. A win is a win and I will take it. Speaking of wins I'll take I did pretty good in fantasy football. On my Yahoo league here is how it turned out.

Hollywood's Rejects 203.00
The Yatchmeister 168.34

My highest point earner was Nate Burleson, WR from the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks lit up the Jaguars 41-0 this weekend. This win puts me at 2-3 which okay. It's the not the greatest but it's better then no one wins at all. Speaking of no wins at all, going into this week I was 0-4 in my ESPN league. However that all changed because I finally won a game. Here is how it turned out.

Hollywoods World of Sports (HWOO)(1-4) 67
Beavis's Buttheads (joe)(2-3) 38

My highest point earner was Ricky Williams, RB from the Miami Dolphins. What a great game that was last night between the Dolphins and the Jets. It's too bad someone had to lose because both teams played freaking insane. I have to send my sympathy's to the Cleveland Browns who sent Braylon Edwards over last week in a trade because he was a lost cause in Cleveland. I actually should say thank you because the Jets are one of my favorite teams and Edwards made an immediate impact last night. It's funny how a player will change once he is treated better or on a better team. However Edwards was not the only U of M alumni in this game. Chad Henne absolutely killed it last night going 20-26 with 241 yards and 2 TD's. His passer rating was 130.4 which is pretty impressive. It was definitely an interesting week in football capped off by a great Monday Night game. I'll be back with my predictions tomorrow.

Yankees, Angels and Dodgers Advance

As I predicted a few weeks ago it did not matter who came out of the AL Central because they would end up being swept by the New York Yankees. Sure enough the Yankees swept the Twin, and did it pretty convincingly. Now I know what Twins fans are going to say. The ground rule double should have not been called a foul ball. Guess what? It was just like Brandon Inge was hit by a pitch and that wasn't called. The Yankees want to win a World Series in the worst way. Before they can get there they have to face the Angels.

The Angels swept Boston making it look fairly easy. I still can't believe Johnathan Papelbon blew the third game in the 9th inning. The Angels are a threat and have been threat all year long because they are finally healthy. The pitching, and hitting are both there. A healthy Angels team is a very dangerous team. I think the ALCS will go seven games with all of them being very close. The Angels have an emotional year losing one of their up and coming pitchers Nick Adenhart to an automobile accident. They also had a few injuries that made them have a slow start. The Angels are definitely a team to be reckoned with.

However they are not the only L.A. team to be reckoned with. The Dodgers who had a great year even though they got lazy towards the end of the year. I have to give props to Juan Pierre who filled in for Manny Ramirez during his 50 game suspension. I am glad Juan didn't get shoved to the side when Manny came back. There a lot of guys on the Dodger team who deserve a World Series. Some of the guys include Jim Thome, Casey Blake, and others who have good careers but never have won a ring. I really enjoy the Dodgers. They are very well rounded team and think they will beat whoever they face in the ALCS in 6 games.

An Angels-Dodgers could be in the making. That would be very interesting. You could see Jared Weaver vs. Jeff Weaver. Then again that's doubtful because Jeff Weaver is not in the rotation right now. Anyways Los Angeles has been waiting almost 50 years for this series to happen and this year it's likely that it could happen. Anything is very possible. ALCS starts Friday night while the NLCS starts Thursday Night. I love postseason baseball. It's the best baseball you see during the year. Stay tuned because the competition is going to get a lot better.

Bradford and Tebow Return, and more

This weekend College Football saw the returns of Sam Bradford and Tim Tebow. Sam Bradford returned by throwing for 389. That is crazy, especially considering that some people initially didn't think he would play again this year. This guy will definitely be an NFL Quarterback next year. He's not the only one who made a comeback this weekend. Tim Tebow made a decent comeback beating LSU 13-3. He did not rush as much and did not throw for a lot of yards. However the fact that he came back after suffering the concussion he did is remarkable. Florida is still number one and Tebow is still a Heisman contender. It was great to see both guys return.

There wasn't really any upsets this weekend but there could have been some. The Hawkeyes barely escaped Michigan. The final score of that game was 30-28 which proves to me Michigan is a lot better then what we all think. Number 16 Kansas barely survived Iowa St, only beating them by five points. Texas A & M almost beat number 15 Oklahoma St. The one ranked team that lost this week was number 17 Auburn who lost to Arkansas. Overall I don't expect much change in the BCS standings. There are some great games next week that could shake the BCS standings for sure. Here are just some of the games that are going to be good next week.

No. 19 Oklahoma vs. No. 2 Texas
No. 9 Ohio State at Purdue
No. 25 South Carolina at No. 3 Alabama
Texas Tech at No. 21 Nebraska
No. 5 Virginia Tech at No. 22 Georgia Tech
No. 24 Missouri at No. 15 Oklahoma State
Kentucky at No. 17 Auburn

Even though they aren't ranked Central Michigan takes Western Michigan next weekend as well. That's always a huge rivalry in College Football. I am really looking forward to the battle between Colt McCoy and Sam Bradford. Look for fireworks to fly in that game. Whats going on with Landry Jones? The guy through for 861 yards and 10 touchdowns in the four games he played in. This guy is definitely the future of Oklahoma. The Sooners will not lose much when Bradford leaves after this year.

Well that's a wrap for this week. Comeback next week for some more College Football. Hopefully there will be some more exciting stuff to talk about.

Davenport Lacrosse Wins Three in One Day

Today I attended the NAIA Fall Ball Invite at Davenport University. Davenport played in three games defeating Aquinas College, Walsh University and Indiana Tech. Out of the 38 man roster, 10 are freshman, so they have a lot of people who returned from last year plus a few new guys that transferred. This team looks really great this year. They were a final four team in D-2 last year with a 14-4 record. They had no division loses last year. At the end of the year the were ranked #5 in the nation.

Expect them to be back in the National Title hunt again this year. Expect some big things from Jordan Richtsmeier, Kyle Anguilm, Jordy Sayers, Adam Bowers, Oliver Wade, Cedric Soubry, and Shawn Beer. I really enjoyed watching freshman Lyle Parks play today. He was great all day long. I think he's going to make a huge impact during his time at Davenport. They also have four goalies this year who are all very good behind the net so it will be interesting to see how much playing time they.

How I can I forget about the guys on defense. The Defense is really great on the Davenport Lacrosse team and that's a major key to their success. With all a mix of veterans, newcomers and great transfers this team is going to be hard to beat. I'd also like to point out that the Forrest Hills district produces a lot of great players that currently play for DU. Players that have come from there include Adam Boonenberg, Taylor Keyworth, Fabian Morales, Kyle Detmers, TJ Roney, Collin Hampel, Cody Cross, Sam Calrson, Brandon Peirsma, and Jordan Richtsmeier. That's one fourth of the team in itself. It shows how dedicated that the Forrest Hills district is to it's lacrosse program.

If you are in the West Michigan Area, you have to get out to see the Davenport Lacrosse team. They are dynamic, exciting and fun to watch. They are a special group of guys. I believe they have a legitimate shot of winning the National Title this year in D-2. Come to a Davenport Lacrosse game this season because if you're like me you will in love with sport pretty quickly. Go Panthers!!!

A-Rod in the Postseason

Ever since Alex Rodriguez has come to the New York Yankees he has put up massive numbers. However those massive numbers came in the regular season. He's never performed in the postseason which is a reflection of what the Yankees have done since A-Rod has been there. The Yankees have not won a World Series since 2000 and have not been in the Fall Classic since 2003. Well things have changed this year. A-Rod has 4 RBI's in the series compared to the one RBI he has had in the total time with Yankees in the post season. He also hit a home run last night which he has never done in the postseason, atleast not to my knowledge. Right now it looks like it will be the Yankees vs. Angels in the ALCS. That will be a good match up. In the NLCS I think you can count the Dodgers in unless they fall apart three games in a row. The Rockies-Phillies series is tied right. The playoffs have been fun to watch this year. There have not been any blowouts this year and thats making great baseball. No one wants to see a blowout anyways. Well stay tuned for more coverage on the postseason. I am sure I'll have more if anything crazy happens like Matt Holliday blowing a game for the Cardinals. Sorry I had to go there.

NFL Week 5 Predictions

Well Week 5 is shortly upon us and there are not a lot of big match ups this week. Anyways here are my predictions.

Buffalo Bills over Cleveland Browns
Pittsburgh Steelers over Detroit Lions
Dallas Cowboys over Kansas City Chiefs
Minnesota Vikings over St. Louis Rams
New York Giants over Oakland Raiders
Philadelphia Eagles over Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Carolina Panthers over Washington Redskins
Baltimore Ravens over Cincinatti Bengals
Atlanta Falcons over San Fransisco 49ers
Jacksonville Jaguars over Seattle Seahawks
Arizona Cardinals over Houston Texans
Denver Broncos over New England Patriots
Indianapolis Colts over Tennessee Titans
New York Jets over Miami Dolphins

Speaking of the Jets they have traded Chansi Stuckey to Cleveland for Braylon Edwards. I definitely think the Jets got the better of this trade. Sanchez now has another weapon to his advantage. We will see what happens this week once the trade is finalized and if Edwards plays this week. Stay tuned.

An Iron Man Match and More

On October 25th, WWE Presents Bragging Rights. This will be a historic match and more because for only the fifth time in WWE History a one hour Iron Man Match will be taking back. It will be WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena. The stipulations are that if Orton loses he does not receive any rematches. If Cena loses, he has to leave Monday Night Raw. The special part of this Iron Man Match is there are no rules. There have been four previous one hour Iron Man Matches.

In 1996 Shawn Michaels defeated Bret Hart (61:52) for the WWE Championship
In 2000 Triple H defeated The Rock (60:08) for the WWE Championship
In 2003 Brock Lesnar defeated Kurt Angle (60:00) for the WWE Championship
In 2004 Chris Benoit defeated Triple H (60:00) for the World Heavyweight Championship

Now here we are five years later and perhaps the one of the best feuds ever is now finally coming to an end. John Cena and Randy Orton are fun to watch because you never know what the hell they are going to do to each other. A lot of people are sick of seeing Cena and Orton but I think this will be a great way for them to end this chapter in their feud. It's about time the WWE Championship had some other contenders for it.

Also at Bragging Rights there will be a tag team match featuring the Raw and Smackdown winners from earlier in the night. There is no word on who will be competing yet. I really like this concept of getting more guys involved. The Smackdown Main Event is huge for this pay-per-view. It will be World Heavyweight Champion the Undertaker taking on CM Punk, Rey Mysterio and Batista in a fatal four way match for the title. That's a huge main event which has the potential to be great. From the sounds of it this whole pay-per-view has the potential to be great. I cannot wait for Bragging Rights on October 25th. I will definitely be sitting at Buffalo Wild Wings on 28th in Grand Rapids that night and watching this extraordinary event. Hope to see you all there.

NFL Week 4 Recap

So week 4 of the NFL has come and gone and really not many surprises this weekend except for how badly the Jets played and the fact the Denver Broncos beat Dallas putting themselves at 4-0. The Broncos at 4-0, I never thought they would be that good. Rookie Mark Sanchez finally played like a rookie and made some mistakes against a surprisingly good Saints defense. The Lions went back to their old ways of losing and losing bad. Speaking of losing bad I lost bad again in both my fantasy football leagues. In my Yahoo league here is how it looked

Hollywood's Rejects 156.17
Country Strong 248.61

So yeah I got killed literally. I am not happy about it. My highest point earner was Antonio Gates, Tight End from the San Diego Chargers. This puts me at 1-3 but atleast I have a win unlike in my ESPN League. My ESPN League ended up like this

Dir's Losers (Lose)(1-2-1) 94
Hollywoods World of Sports (HWOO)(0-4) 68

My highest point earner was Pierre Thomas, Running-back from the New Orleans Saints. I also went 10 for 14 on predictions. I am still not happy with that. I only allow myself 2 wrong a week then after that I get frustrated. How about Brett Favre sticking it to Green Bay last night. Minnesota is 4-0 and are looking strong. It was a good week in football with not too many surprises I'll have my predictions tomorrow. Stay tuned for week 5.

WWE Hell in a Cell Recap

Last night was truly Hell in a Cell for some of the individuals involved in those matches. The show opened up with The Undertaker taking on World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk in the first of three Cell matches. Undertaker came in rare form as only he can but Punk put up a great fight against the phenom. In the end, Taker hit a Last Ride, Chokeslam and Tombstone to finish off the straightedge superstar to win the World Heavyweight Championship

Intercontinental Champion John Morrison defended his title successfully against Dolph Ziggler. This match was pretty solid. Both men stepped up in big ways as the young stars on Smackdown shined for this competitive match. Next up was Mickie James defending the Diva's title against Alicia Fox. This match went the way I thought it would. Mickie James retained her title.

The Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho and the Big Show took on the duo Batista and Rey Mysterio and this match was really great actually. All four men are major superstars in their own right and to see them compete in this tag match was really cool. The match was back and forth but in the end the Unified Tag Champs prevailed as I knew they would.

The second of the Hell in a Cell matches between WWE Champion John Cena and Randy Orton was definitely a good end to a chapter in their rivalry. Do I think the rivalry is over? No, not by a long shot but this chapter is. Randy Orton needed to win the WWE Championship otherwise he would not receive another title shot as long as John Cena was champion. Well Randy Orton did what he needed to do and won back the WWE Championship only three weeks after losing it. As I said the Orton-Cena feud is far from over.

Drew McIntyre made his pay-per-view against R-Truth. There was nothing really special here but Drew McIntyre may just be a big star. From what I hear Vince McMahon really likes this guy. He looked really impressive last night. I think you're going to see some great things out of this kid. Stay tuned for more on his development.

The triple threat match between United States Champion Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger and The Miz was short but sweet. All three of them highlighted their skills and their styles in this match Kofi Kingston retained his title with the Trouble in Paradise kick that he has used so many times to get a victory.

The Main Event was surprisingly Triple H & Shawn Michaels vs. Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase. Not to often is a non-title match a main event on pay-per-view. A lot of great wrestling psychology in this match. Rhodes and Dibiase attacked DX during their entrance and isolated Michaels in the cell. Michaels took most of the punishment until Triple H finally got in the Cell. Then DX isolated Cody Rhodes and locked Dibiase out of the Cell. DX practically destroyed Cody Rhodes and ended up winning the match and the war. The Legacy-DX feud thats taken place over the last three months has been really fun to watch. Legacy really has come into their own without Randy Orton. It my opinion Rhodes and Dibiase are ready to be on their own especially Dibiase. A great match and a good pay-per-view.

Because their was no blood, nothing spectacular happening in the Cell matches and no ECW Champion Christian I would give Hell in the Cell 7 out of 10. All the matches were solid but there was no blood and no craziness in the Cell so that definitely took away from the matches. Next pay-per-view is in three weeks so stay tuned for the matches on that.

Tigers-Twins in Sudden Death Playoff

If you are a Tigers fan like I am you have to be absolutely disgusted that the season has come down to one game to determine the AL Central and a spot in the playoffs. The Tigers could have easily had the division wrapped up a month ago but they have blown game after game. If you ask me I won't be happy or sad either way. The Twins have been on fire for the last month and have been playing like they want it. However in my opinion whoever wins the AL Central won't last long in the playoffs. The Tigers or Twins have to face the Yankees who happen to be one of the hottest teams in baseball right now.

I am just so angry at the Tigers right now. Leyland needs to go. Granderson, and Everett really need to go as well. It's time for the spotlight shine on guys like Ramon Santiago and Ryan Raburn who actually produce when they are at the plate. Dusty Ryan is wasted space on the roster along with Don Kelly. The pitchers that can stay are Verlander, Jackson and Porcello. The rest of the rotation and relief pitchers are debatable. This team looked so good on paper at the beginning of the year but I guess you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. People like Armando Galarraga, and Jarrod Washburn have been absolute let downs this year.

Okay so maybe I am blowing things way out of proportions and might just be overreacting a little bit but for crying out loud we have had the lead since May only to have it come down to one game. Unfortunately we have to go to Minnesota where we have not played good at all year long. I honestly do not like our chances on Tuesday. I guess we will all have to tune in to find out what happens. Until then just sit and pray that the Tigers don't embarrass themselves.

College Football Provides More Excitement

Yesterday there were some great College Football games on. There were some great games on yesterday and a few of them were nail biters. Michigan and Michigan had a thrilling game that went into overtime. The Spartans one in their stadium. Michigan played a good game but it wasn't good enough. The other game that got my attention was Miami knocking off the Oklahoma Sooners 21-20. They should have put in Sam Bradford but then again would it have made a difference? Probably not. There wasn't really any upsets this weekend at. Auburn and Tennessee had a really good game that saw Auburn winning 26-22. The Notre Dame-Washington, and LSU-Georgia games were fun to watch as well. I really love watching the SEC teams. They have always have great games against each other and that conference is stacked with good teams.

The Florida Gators had the weekend off but play LSU next week. It will be very interesting to see if Tim Tebow can comeback. I doubt it. He suffered a really bad concussion and he is still have symptoms of it. One has to wonder how good Florida is without Tebow. It will be very interesting to see the Heisman balloting goes this year. Bradford is out, and so is Tebow. The only guy that might have a chance of getting it is Colt McCoy. Stay tuned to see if Tebow and Bradford comeback and make a run at the Heisman Trophy. It will be interesting to see what happens.

WWE Hell in a Cell Predictions

Tomorrow night is WWE's Hell in a Cell only on pay-per-view and there some great match-ups on tomorrow nights card. The three main events will all take place inside of the Hell in a Cell. Here are my predictions for tomorrow night.

World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk vs. Undertaker (Hell in a Cell Match)
This should be really interesting. The Undertaker hasn't worked a lot of matches since his return. He is not in good health but I know when it comes down to a big match situation he will perform. CM Punk has been one of the better heels since his turn in the the early summer. I look for the Undertaker to win back the World Heavyweight Championship

WWE Champion John Cena vs. Randy Orton (Hell in a Cell Match)
This rivalry is becoming one of the best I have ever seen personally. I enjoy watching what these two do to each other and how they find a way to win their matches against each other. I love Orton's dirty tactics and Cena's will to win. They are both competitors and I know they will bring all they have inside the Cell. I do see John Cena retaining his WWE Championship and continuing his reign.

D-Generation X vs. The Legacy (Hell in a Cell Match)
DX has been involved in a lot of Hell in a Cell matches. This rivalry has been so awesome. Legacy has really come a long way since they formed back in June of last year. Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase are so talented and they are getting much better because of their feud with DX. I see DX coming out on top and then going back to being singles competitors once again. I love watching DX but watching Shawn Michaels and Triple H in singles matches is way better.

United States Champion Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz vs. Jack Swagger
Now here you have three different styles in the ring. Kofi Kingston has been a great United States Champion. The Miz and Jack Swagger are starting to become two of the best heels that WWE has. However in the end Kofi Kingston will continue to defy the odds and keep his United States Championship.

Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show vs. Batista & Rey Mysterio
This should be an interesting match. This might be Jericho and Big Show's toughest test to date. Batista and Rey Mysterio have teamed many times and have actually won the tag team titles on one occasion. However considering that this is Mysterio's first match back since his suspension I look for Big Show and Y2J to keep the tag titles. As I've said many times wait until Wrestlemania 26 when Edge and Christian reunite to take the Unified Tag Team Championships from this duo.

Intercontinental Champion John Morrison vs. Dolph Ziggler
The match that should have happened three weeks ago is now taking place. I think John Morrison is a future World Heavyweight Champion on Smackdown. I really don't know how this match is going to go but I think Morrison will keep the Intercontinental Title. It might be the match that steals the show and surprises people the most.

Divas Champion Mickie James vs. Alicia Fox
I can tell you without any doubt that Mickie James will probably keep the title. Alicia Fox is not ready for the Diva's Championship. She cannot even hit the axe kick right and thats her finisher. Mickie James wins hands down.

On paper this looks like a really good pay-per-view and we will see how good it does. I think you're going to see some crazy stuff in this pay-per-view. Tomorrow Night it will be truly be Hell in the Cell.

Decade of Smackdown was Electrifying

Tonight on Smackdown was the Decade Celebration of Smackdown. I really enjoyed the whole show and that does not happen very often for me anymore. It was one of the best shows on TV in a long time. The opening match between Kane and Batista was rock solid and couldn't get any better for two big men. There is one point in the show I got a little teary eyed. It was when the showed the emotional tribute to the late Eddie Guerrero. Eddie was a huge part of what Smackdown is all about and a huge part of that shows history. It's been almost four years since his passing and his presence is still being felt.

The backstage segments tonight were totally awesome. Michael Cole getting drunk was hilarious especially when puked all over Chris Jericho. Jericho wanted to puke and the Big Show actually ran off and did puke. I also enjoyed watching Zack Ryder get shafted and not being allowed in MVP's V.I.P. lounge. Also what the hell was up with Yoshi Tatsu and Kung Fu Naki sing "Sexy Boy," which is the theme of Shawn Michaels. The match between Miz/Ziggler and Morrison/Kingston was really great. I loved how they had Morrison and Miz start the match. They were once a great tag team, possibly one of the best that have come around in the last decade. It is really great to see both of their singles career take off.

Finally The Rock has reappeared on WWE Television. The Rock was in rare form tonight but was it really from his heart? Not so long ago Dwayne Johnson did not want to be known as The Rock and wanted nothing do with wrestling. It is no secret that current WWE Champion John Cena has called The Rock on numerous occasions. He feels if The Rock loves wrestling as much as he say he would come back every once in a while and wrestle a match or two. The Rock also hinted and teased that he might be a guest host on Monday Night Raw. He keeps teasing things like this and never follows up on them. The fans in a lot of ways have moved on and forgotten about him. I would welcome The Rock back if he came back. He is good for wrestling and made a huge impact on the industry. We shall see what he does in the future.

The eight man tag was totally off the hook tonight. It was CM Punk/Randy Orton/Legacy vs. Undertaker/John Cena/DX. The match was about 25 minutes long which is a good lengthy match for TV. I loved all the elements of this match including the Undertaker and Shawn Michaels staring each other down after Undertaker blind tagged Shawn Michaels. It gave me goosebumps reminding me of the match they had Wrestlemania 25 six months ago. It was a great celebration at the end of the show when Cena, Michaels, Triple and Undertaker were in the ring. What a good way to close out the show.

There is only one thing that bothered me about the show and that is they should have let Mysterio come back from his suspension early because he has been a huge part of Smackdown. They also should brought in JBL and brought Edge back because they too have made huge contributions to the show. Other then that the show was great. I am going to rate 8 out of 10. I felt it was that good. Granted it only had four matches but they were all solid and the backstage segments were priceless as well. Hopefully WWE will continue to Layeth the Smackdown for many more Friday Nights to come.

U of M vs. MSU: The Rivalry That Never Ends

Tomorrow one of the greatest instate rivalries in all of sports is happening. The Michigan Wolverines are playing the Michigan State Spartans in the most competitive sport that play in. This will be 102nd meeting between these teams and currently Michigan leads the series 67-29-5. There have been a lot of great games between these two teams. There also have been a lot of great players who have played for both colleges. Here are some of the names that have played at U of M.

Charles Woodson
Amani Toomer
Ty Law
Tom Brady
Shawn Crable
Braylon Edwards
Desmond Howard
Tim Biakabutuka

Those are just a few of the names that have played for the Wolverines. The Spartans don't come up short on the list of talent they have had come through MSU. They have names that been very successful. Here are some of the players that have come out of East Lansing.

Muhsin Muhammad
Derrick Mason
Flozell Adams
T. J. Duckett
Kirk Gibson (yes the baseball player)
Andre Rison
Wayne Fontes
Plaxico Burress

So as you can see both schools have produced good football players who have had successful careers either in college or in the NFL. I don't have a problem admitting that I am a U of M fan over MSU. However I do root for MSU when they are not playing the Wolverines. I like to see any team in my home state do well. This rivalry gets the most competitive when they are playing football or basketball. The fans are passionate about who they like and don't which makes it an awesome rivalry to watch. Tomorrow another chapter will be written with players like Tate Forcier and Kirk Cousins. Both teams are headed in different directions this season. U of M is 4-0 while MSU is 1-3. It is a must win for both teams tomorrow because MSU needs to salvage their season and U of M needs to keep the momentum rolling. I cannot wait for tomorrows game. I have a feeling it's going to be on to remember.

Allen Iverson: Quit Being a Crybaby

Allen Iverson had publicly spoke about how going to Detroit was the worst career move he ever made and how that they lied to him. Apparently he is saying that Michael Curry lied to him about the fact that he would always been a starter and not come off the bench. If you all remember it didn't exactly go that way next year. The Pistons were struggling and Michael Curry was in fear of losing his job. In my humble opinion the trade for Iverson was the worst in Pistons franchise history. We lost one of the best players that Detroit has ever had and we got rid of him for a ball hog who destroys the mentality of every team he has ever been on.

As a Pistons fan I can personally tell you that I am very happy he is no longer on the team. The Pistons have a new look, a new team and a new attitude. The Pistons still have Tayshaun Prince, Rip Hamilton, Jason Maxiell, and Rodney Stuckey. The Pistons also added Ben Gordon, and Charlie Villanueva to the fold. I think the Pistons will be a good team but I don't think they will be a contender. They are in rebuilding mode right now and I will give it two years and they will be back in contention. Stay tuned for more because the Pistons open up the season against Iverson and the Grizzlies. I for one cannot wait to see what happens there. The season starts on Oct. 27th. Basketball is here but more importantly Detroit Basketball is back!

Thoughts on the Hulkamania Tour

This November Hulk Hogan will be wrestling again. He will be embarking on a journey to Australia for the first time. The name of the tour is the "Hulkamania Tour: Let the Battle Begin." Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff are the ones who are putting on this tour and their are some major names that are scheduled to be on this tour. Names including:

Nick Dinsmore (Formerly Eugene)
Paul London
Aumanga (Formerly Umaga)
Jimmy Hart
Nasty Boys
Shannon Moore
Ken Anderson (Formerly Mr. Kennedy)
Val Venis
Rikishi
Orlando Jordan
Gangrel
Brutus Beefcake
Heidenreich

To top this whole list off, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair has decided to come out of retirement to face Hulk Hogan in the land down under. This is going to be an awesome tour from the sounds of it. Those rumored to be in negotiations are Diamond Dallas Page, Rob Van Dam and even Jeff Hardy. This tour could be a great thing for wrestling and I also think that a lot of these guys have more to prove and by that I mean prove that they are not washed up. Obviously I think Hogan and Flair should retire but the others guys on this tour have a long ways to go before they hang up their boots. I'll be very curious to see how many fans the draw and how much money they make. I guess the only question I have is "Whatcha Gonna Do, When the Hulkamania Tour Runs Wild on You?"

Kimbo Slice Loses on the Ultimate Fighter

Last night was the most hyped episode of any Ultimate Fighter in the 10 seasons it's ran. The fight was between Roy Nelson and Kimbo Slice. I was really hoping Kimbo Slice would knockout the loud mouth country hick but it didn't happen. Kimbo Slice was getting punched in the head for a good two minutes in second round when the referee stopped the fight. It should be noted that Kimbo didn't give up and took all the shots Roy Nelson gave to him. The interesting thing is that this season all the fighters stay in the house even after they lose. The reason being is so they can further the training be there if they need an alternate fighter. I don't think we have seen the last of Kimbo Slice.

The tension between Rampage Jackson and Rashad Evans keeps getting bigger and bigger as each week goes by. It's a shame that they are not fighting each other because I think you'd see their hatred for each other come out in a fight. With Rampage now "retired" we will probably not see them fight anytime soon. I will be very curious to see who Rashad's next opponent will be. The Ultimate Fighter is only three weeks in and there has been a lot of craziness already. I cannot wait until December to see who fights in the finals. All I know is I am going to keep watching every Wednesday Night because something crazy is going to do go down.
