The Son of Perfection wins FCW Heavyweight Title.

This past Thursday at the Florida Championship Wrestling television taping a new FCW Heavyweight Champion was crowned. He is the son of legendary WWE Hall of Famer, "Mr Perfect" Curt Hennig. Joe Hennig is the new FCW Heavyweight Champion Holding the FCW Title means one thing. It means you are ready for the main roster of the WWE. Earlier this month, I read an issue of Pro Wrestling Illustrated that named Joe Hennig the 2008 Rookie of the Year. This guy has a bright future ahead of him and look forward to seeing him on TV soon.

Curt Hennig was one of my favorite wrestlers growing up. He was cocky, arrogant, athletic and charismatic. He was everything I wanted to be because he that good, or maybe because he was that perfect. When I first found out Joe Hennig was going to be in pro wrestling I got really excited because I am fan of 2nd and 3rd generation wrestlers like Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibiase, DH Smith, and Umaga. Joe Hennig has instantly become one of my favorites and he is not even on TV yet. All I can say is thank God for the internet so I am able to watch his matches on a weekly basis from FCW.

Mark my words on this, Joe Hennig will be on WWE TV and will win a title by the end of 2009. He is just as good as his father and grandfather. And like his father, Joe Hennig will be absolutely perfect.

The Buccaneers are dysfunctional Pt. 2, and more

Not so long ago I posted how I thought that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were dysfunctional because they let Jon Gruden and hired the assistant on the same day. Earlier this week the Buccaneers proved once again that they are completely stupid. They pretty much cut the core of their team. Here is the core I am talking about.

Cato June(LB), Warrick Dunn(RB), Ike Hilliard(WR), Joey Galloway(WR), and Derrick Brooks(LB). Now explain something to me why would you get rid of two of your best defensive players and three of your best offensive players. It doesn't make any sense to me but it did when I had heard they were trying to get the newest Washington Redskin, Albert Haynesworth. Look on the bright side Tampa fans, at least now you have cry baby Kellen Winslow on your team. Of course that team is full of cry babies and that's why Gruden was fired because they couldn't handle his toughness. I really pity Bucs fans because they will probably finish last in their conference this next season. I can understand unloading payroll but not if you're losing that much talent.

In other news, Matt Cassel and Mike Vrabel both got sent out of New England to Kansas City. This makes Kansas City instantly better then they were last year. Cassel carried the team during Brady's absence and will be the new face of K.C. Vrabel was one of the best defensive players that the Patriots had and he'll do great as a Chief.

And I must Praise the lord, Hallelujah because the Lions traded QB John Kitna to the Cowboys. I don't know what they got in return but it doesn't matter because I am sure whoever we get will be better for the Lions the him.

Last but not least Kerry Collins and Kurt Warner will be playing next season. Collins resigned a two year deal with the Titans and Warner is negotiating with the Cardinals and 49ers. Can't wait to find who he chooses to play for. Well that's all the NFL news for now. I'll keep you posted if anything else happens.

Sports that people don't consider sports

There has always been a debate on what's a sport and what's not a sport. To me a sport is a competition between two or more people or teams. It's something you have train for, practice for and work hard for. So here are some sports that most people do not consider sports.

Bass Fishing- Obviously there is a little bit of luck but you in fishing you need patience, and a little bit of strength. It takes a lot of energy out of you catching one fish after another especially if their big.

Darts- It takes a lot of hand-eye coordination to play darts. You can't just throw at the board and hope to get lucky. If you ever watched on it TV, you would see how hard the concentrate. It is actually a very competitive sport that the Europeans usually dominate.

Hot Dog Eating Contests- I should just say eating contests but hot dogs get the most notoriety. I know a lot people might hate me for it but who cares. It takes a lot to get into one of the most contests. I thought eating 10 hot dogs was tough but I know I couldn't 50. It sounds ridiculous but it's harder then it looks.

Bowling- Now here is one I take great offense to. I bowling from the time I was 7 and until the time I was 23. It took me a lot of years to get where I was. I eventually gave it up because my knees were getting bad because of it. And if you don't think bowling takes a toll on you, go out and bowl 32 games in a row and come back and talk to me.

Billiards- Like bowling, billiard is what I call a scientific sport. You have to have a good eye when it comes to playing pool. You can't just shoot and hope that you'll get it in the pocket. I call it the game of angles. Because one degree off you could easily miss a shot.

I think I've made my point. There are a few sports out there like horseshoes, cheer leading, gymnastics Golf, and NASCAR that some poke fun of, of not being a sport but the jokes on those sports are becoming fewer and fewer. Like I said a sport is a competition, so that I am done with this post, I am going to go play some Texas Hold Em

He's Back!!!!

Yesterday Tiger Woods, made his return to the WGC Accenture Match Play Tournament. He definitely looked like Tiger yesterday. He struggled a few holes but unfortunately if you don't take advantage when Tiger makes a mistake you will never beat him. I think any doubt about Tiger coming back was laid to rest yesterday. I was really happy to see him make a great return.

Like I said before, if you want to win a tournament you better win it fast because once he gets back to into full force, it's a done deal. I watched most of his match play yesterday and he didn't show much emotion like he usually does but then again it's only the first day. I guess I better give him time because if he is still in it come Saturday or Sunday then you'll see the Tiger Woods that's full of emotion when he does good. I'll be watching match play all weekend when I get the chance. It should be interesting if Tiger goes up again Vijay or Phil. Hope it happens because Golf needs the excitement. Well over and out. Why Summerslam 1991 is My Favorite PPV.

As a professional wrestling fan, I often get asked the question what is you favorite wrestling pay-per-view of all time. Well I've seen some many of them on VHS, DVD and ordered them live but one for me always will stand the test of time. That one happens to be Summmerslam of 1991. The one thing that sticks out to more then anything is not even a match. It was the commentary of Bobby Hennan, Gorilla Monsoon, and Rowdy Roddy Piper. It was the best commentary on a single show I've heard in my life. Most of it made you laugh, some of it made you angry but it almost felt like Last Comic Standing between Hennan and Piper. I hope someday I can find one or two people to do commentary with and replicate what those three did.

Every match on the card had some value to it. The first match was British Bulldog/Ricky Steamboat/Texas Tornado vs. Paul Roma/Hercules/Warlord. At the time they were all looked at as mid-carders but for being a mid-carder match they put on a good show.

The second match was the legendary match between Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect for the Intercontinental Championship. This is still regard as one of the best IC title matches in the rich history of that title. Mr. Perfect was nearing the end of his first run in the WWE as a wrestler while Bret was starting to climb to the top. It's a must see for any wrestling fan.

Next you had the mismatch of The Bushwhackers vs The Natural Disasters. It should be noted that this was the last PPV appearance of Andre the Giant who accompanied the Bushwhackers. This match was definitely interesting to say the least. It had some funny and memorable moments.

As any true wrestling fan knows the Million Dollar Championship held by The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase was rarely ever defended. On this night he defended it against his former servant Virgil. It was a classic story which saw Virgil win the gold, the money and the respect. Virgil really never got the push he deserved. I always thought he brought something different to the ring that no one else did. This was a very dramatic match which had a great ending.

Then you had the Jailhouse Match, where the loser had to spend 24 hours in a New York City jail. It was between the Big Boss Man and the Mountie. This match was a brawl in every sense of the word. It was a back and forth match which saw the Mountie going to jail for the night and it had one of the funniest segments that I can remember in pro wrestling history. Watch it and you'll figure out what I am talking about.

Next up was the most storied tag team in the history of professional wrestling, the Legion of Doom, the Road Warriors, Hawk and Animal. They took on the WWE Tag Team Champions, the Nasty Boys in a NO DQ and No Count out match. It ended with a Doomsday Device that saw L.O.D. tag home the gold. That win made them the first and only team to hold the AWA, NWA, and WWE Tag Team Titles.

The crowd killer match before the main event was IRS vs Greg Valentine. Good solid wrestling match but it had no story. That's what the use to do back in the old pay-per-views. They would have a mid-card match to calm the crowd down before the main event so the audience had something to get excited about. IRS won but no one really cared.

Then you had the main event which was Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior taking on the Triangle of Terror which consisted of Sgt. Slaughter, Gen. Adnan and Col. Mustafa(Iron Sheik). The special guest referee was Sid Justice(Psycho Sid, Sid Vicious). The match was good but the post match was even better. Hogan and Sid posed the only Hulk Hogan could. I failed to mention that event was at Madison Square Garden which is another reason why it was so special.

After that it was the wedding with Randy Savage and Elizabeth. It was cool I guess. I think in someways it was a waste of PPV time but that's me, but the way it ended with Taker and Jake Roberts beating up Savage was classic. Then you had Sid come in at the end and make the save. It was an interesting to end a PPV. So there you have it, that's why Summerslam 1991 was my favorite PPV of all time. It is what it is brother.

Harrison leaves Colts

Marvin Harrison asked for his release from the Colts yesterday and got it. When all this first came up I was shocked because Harrison was a Colt for life. I think he's hanging out whatever he's got left in this sport and trying to make the most money possible. I think he'll end up on a good team but because of his personal life and a few injuries he will not be the same Marvin Harrison he once was. Plus he doesn't have Payton Manning anymore. I don't know how I really feel about this right now. I think it sucks for Colts fans and I personally think the Colts will have a horrible year. Dungy retired, and Harrison is gone so how go could they really be? Only time will tell. So lets wait and see.

The Kryptonite Puts on a show.

Last night "The Kryptonite" Nate Robinson scored 41 points against the Pacers. It just amazes me that a guy that small can score that many points. Of course it was also fun watching him high-five Will Farrell every time he scored. The funny thing is, is this 5 foot 9 inch wonder comes of the bench for the Knicks. He is a two time Slam Dunk Winner and just a phenom in basketball. Nate Robinson is a great thing for basketball and hope he gives the fans many more moments for years to come.

Spud Webb, move over because Nate Robinson because I think he is taking the role of big little guy to ever play the sport. As I say, only time will tell if it's true. We'll have to wait and find out.

News and Notes Around Sports

A lot to get to today from this weekend in sports so lets begin with the news that ended the day yesterday.

NASCAR
Matt Kenseth won again yesterday at the Auto Club 500 and became only the 5th Driver to win the first two races of the season. Last time someone did that was Jeff Gordon in 1997. That year he won the Sprint Cup (Formerly Known as the Winston Cup) Could this be a great sign for Kenseth or is he going to have a bulls eye on him now. We will have to wait and find out.

MLB
The World Baseball Classic starts on March 5th and I am pretty excited about it. It seems that bigger stars are playing in it this year. I am looking forward to it. All games will televised on ESPN and ESPN 2. And for you Spanish viewers it will be on ESPNDeportes. I know I will be watching to see how certain guys do in a different team environment. I think playing for your country is a greater feeling then playing for a team like the Red Sox, and Yankees. I say that because you just don't have that city's fans, you have your entire country rooting for you.

NBA
Not much going except that Kobe and Lebron tore it up on Friday Night in their respective games. Injuries are starting to pile up for teams like the Rockets who lost McGrady, the Suns who lost Stoudemire, the Magic lost Nelson and for the time being the Celtics lost Garnett. The Pistons might not even make the playoffs this year because now they have loss six in a row, and are right at the .500 mark. Not good if you are a hoping the Pistons to be in the Eastern Conference Finals again. It's not going to happen. Right now, I think the final four will be the Nuggets, and Lakers from the West. From the East it will be the Cavs, and barring injury the Celtics. A lot can happen in the next few weeks.

PBA
I took some time to watch bowling yesterday and it was so cool. They had a tournament where they banned the reactive resin for a week and all bowlers had to use a plastic bowling ball like they used in the old days. My bowling hero Pete Weber was in the finals but came up short against his protege Jeff Carter. It was neat to see the bowlers adjust and rely on their ability and not the ball for once. I think each sport should have an event like this where the go back to the old equipment for one week. It's a great concept that I enjoyed.

Kyle Busch Races His Way Into History

In all the years of NASCAR there have been a lot of performances that have put us in awe. Here are some of those records I am talking about:

Most championships: 7-(tied) Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt
Most consecutive championships: 3-(tied) Cale Yarborough, Jimmie Johnson
Most career wins: 200-Richard Petty
Most wins in a season: 27-Richard Petty
Most wins in a modern era season: 13-(tied) Jeff Gordon and Richard Petty

All those guys have done some great things but one man did something yesterday that none of these men have ever done. Kyle Busch won the Truck Series race and the Nationwide Series race yesterday and in between races he had final practice for the Sprint Cup Series race today. I must say even though I am not a fan of his, I am impressed. I don't like Kyle Busch's attitude, I don't like how drives dirty sometimes but at the same time I respect the fact he will do what he has to do to win. If he wins the Spring Cup race today, he will make even more history by sweeping a weekend in all three series. Kyle Busch you have made your way into the record books and even gained some respect from people that didn't like you before. But before everyone makes you. out to be a great driver and give your props, remember this. You are no Dale Earnhardt or Richard Petty and no one will ever come close to being what they were. So with that being said, congratulations Kyle and keep being Kyle because that's all you need to be.

Tiger Woods Returns Next Week

Next week at WGC-Accenture Match Play tournament Tiger Woods will make his return. Tiger hasn't played since his dramatic US Open win against Rocco Mediate. Will Tiger provide us with more memories? One can only hope. A lot of people are wondering how well he will do and if it's smart to comeback this early. He's freaking Tiger Woods, I wouldn't worry about him that much. He will do great and for someone like myself who doesn't watch much Golf I will definitely be paying attention and watching next week to see what he does. I look forward to his return.

Since Tigers absence there have been nineteen different winners on tour. Those nineteen winners better savor those moments because winning is going to come rare once Tiger is back in full form. Good luck Tiger, I can't wait for your return next week.

Great news for Panthers Fans

Yesterday the Carolina Panthers franchised Julius Peppers and resigned OT Jordan Gross. A move that's got me and other Panthers fans extremely excited for next year. I was getting worried that Peppers might end up else where, as in the rumors of him going to Green Bay. Peppers and Gross are here to stay but the one question that remains for me, is who will their Quarterback this coming season?

After Jake's performance in the playoffs one has to wonder if his time is done. I would like to see Carolina trade up and get a decent Quarterback because they have all the weapons there they just need someone who won't choke in the pocket and throw five interceptions in a playoff game. I look forward to the Draft and the off season to see what other moves my Panthers will make.

Ken Griffey Jr. Returns to Seattle

In the great words of someone famous, Finally.....Ken Griffey Jr. has come back to Seattle. Sorry Rock for stealing your catchphrase but you don't wrestle anymore so I don't care. Anyways I think it's great to see Griffey go back to the team he made. In my opinion Ken Griffey Jr. made the Seattle Mariners and put them on the map. They had a great team when he was there and they got horrible after he left. It says something about the man who I once despised for giving the middle finger to Sparky Anderson. It seems Ken has matured since then and in my own person opinion if he wouldn't have had been injury plagued for all those years in Cincinnati he would be ahead of Bonds in home runs. I've always thought that Griffey played the game right and didn't do anything to really jeopardize his reputation and career.

If this is his last year, I really hope he goes out with a bang and hope Seattle and the league give him the respect he so richly deserves. Ken my hats off to you and yes I forgive you for the Sparky incident. You were just a young punk who didn't know any better at the time. And yes you are a Hall of Famer in my book. Welcome back to Seattle where hopefully no one will be sleeping when you have your first home game.

Is It Possible?...It's Wrestlemania 25

It was only a mere three days ago since WWE's No Way Out and my original Wrestlemania thoughts were thrown right out the window. I started coming up with new ideas of what might happen. As I started coming up with all these ideas there is one man I left out, one man I didn't mention and one man I didn't even consider. That man is my childhood hero and his name is...Hulk Hogan. Hulk Hogan has not been on a Wrestlemania since 2005 when he was inducted into the Hall of Fame and had a little run in 2005. The place went crazy and proved once again that Hulkamania will never die. So as I usually do in a typical morning I check the latest wrestling news to keep myself up to date on stuff, and here is what I read for Wrestlemania 25:

- Triple H vs. Randy Orton (WWE Championship Match)

- Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker

- Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy

- Chris Jericho vs. Mickey Rourke or Hulk Hogan. Hogan looks more likely as Rourke has been told by his agents not to do any in-ring match.

- John Cena vs. Hulk Hogan or Edge. There has been talk of doing Edge vs. The Big Show as well. If Hogan does a match with Jericho, Cena would be able to face someone else.

- Edge vs. Big Show (WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match) or Edge vs. John Cena depending on what they do.

Anyway you slice it that is hands down a solid card if it that happens and then you add in the eight man Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Here is what I see happening. Rourke will not be involved at a match at Wrestlemania and my dream situation would be for Austin to take on Jericho and Hogan to take on Cena. If Hogan takes on Jericho which is the most likely possibility I think it will be Cena vs. Edge vs. Show for the WWE Championship. This is Wrestlemania baby and with about six weeks left anything is possible and anything can happen. Hulk Hogan vs. John Cena would be bigger then Hogan vs. Rock because Cena never plans on leaving the WWE like the Rock did. Cena is a star and Hogan is an icon. It only makes sense

The Silver Anniversary of Wrestlemania is upon us and get ready for the ride of your lives. This Wrestlemania could become my favorite of all time and beat out Wrestlemania 17. If that card happens the way I read it, it will be very hard to ever top a pay-per-view like that again. From here until Wrestlemania I will breakdown and analyze each match as they are confirmed by WWE. So please keep checking back for the announced matches.

Here is some of thoughts going on sports right now because for some reason it feels like a downtime for me and not much is going on in just one sport so here it goes.

MLB

A-Rod admitted to all of his wrong doings yesterday and took some harsh questions and words from the media, because that's what the media does. I think he did himself a favor by coming clean and admitting everything he did. That takes a lot of guts and takes a character to admit his wrong doings. I think he will be forgave eventually but the damage to part of his career has been done. I hope he makes it to the Hall of Fame and I hope he breaks Bonds home run record because even though they did the same things A-Rod came clean and admitted everything he did wrong the first time.

NBA

Dwight Howard and Kevin Durant both had career highs last night and it proved again why the big man era is starting to comeback in basketball. Centers and Power Forwards are starting to have more importance then they have in games. For the longest time it was just Shaq being dominant but now the got guys like Durant, Oden, Howard, Chandler and others who are being forces to reckoned with.

NFL

Brett Favre is now retired...or so we hope. I have a lot of respect for Brett but don't put yourself, the fans, and the media through what you did last year. You had a wonderful career and left us with lots of memories but please enjoy your life, your family and the things you worked so hard to have. Cherish these years you have now because you only live once. Thank you Brett for all the years you played and the things you did

WWE No Way Out Recap

Last night at No Way Out was one of the most shocking pay-per-views I have seen in a long time. The show opened up with the Smackdown Elimination Chamber for the WWE Championship. A lot of people thought going into the night that both champions would keep their titles. With Wrestlemania seven weeks away I was surprised at the outcome of the pay-per-view. The Smackdown Elimination Chamber saw the WWE Champ Edge be eliminated first which made for a great match because you knew there would be a new WWE Champ. That new WWE Champion came out to be Triple H who is now a thirteen world champion and is on his way to Wrestlemania 25.

No Way out also saw Shane McMahon and Randy Orton destroy each other over pride, personal matters and survival. It was bloody, violent and brutal but now Randy Orton now has an important decision to make. Which champion will he choose to face at Wrestlemania 25?

Then in one of the most intriguing story lines in recent memory, the showstopper Shawn Michaels took on JBL in an All or Nothing Match. If JBL wins he owns the name Shawn Michaels for life. If Michaels wins he is free from JBL. It was a decent match that had a lot of emotion and Shawn Michaels won his freedom and will continue to make his legend grow. Where will Shawn Michaels end up at Wrestlemania 25?

Then in the main event, the Raw Elimination Chamber match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Before the match even began Edge took out Kofi Kingston and put himself in the chamber match. This match was wild especially when you had Rey Mysterio who all over the place. It came down to Edge and Mysterio in a highly contested battle but in the end the Rated R Superstar won the World Heavyweight Title in very controversial fashion. What happens now? Who faces him at Wrestlemania 25?

With seven weeks left until 'Mania there is a lot of questions but no answers yet. Who will face who? Who will cement their legacy at the grandest stage of them all? And who become immortal on the night of April 5th 2009? Stay tuned because the next seven weeks could possibly be the greatest seven weeks in professional wrestling history. As I always say, only time will tell.

Restart the Race!!!

Yesterday was one of the most aggressive Daytona 500's in recent memory. It also had a surprising winner in Matt Kenseth who in my humble opinion did not deserve that win. Nice little teary-eyed speech but you better be thanking Dale Earnhardt Jr. for wrecking all the favorites to win the race. Yes Dale Jr. ended up wrecking Brian Vickers because Vickers doesn't know how to drive and so it was a good 10 car wreck that took out all the leaders like Kyle Busch who dominated the majority of the race.

Also I am very upset that the race got shortened with 48 laps to go. To me that ruined the integrity of the race. It is the biggest race in any form of racing and a 48 lap shootout would have had big ratings. Matt Kenseth is in the record books as the 2009 Daytona 500 but a lot of people like myself don't think he rightfully won it. I am very disappointed that it turned out the way it did. Any other race I don't care, but this is the biggest race of the year and it ended in horrible fashion.

I hope in 2010 the rules will have changed and that the race must go all 200 laps even if its rain delayed until the next day. I am angry right now at the outcome and finish of the race. Maybe by next race I'll be over it. Until now, my feelings are what they are.

Shaq, Kobe and Phil Reunite to Win....

Last night at 58th NBA All Star game, Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant and Phil Jackson reunited on the Western Conference All-Star team to defeated the Eastern Conference 146-119. A lot of people were reminded of when they played for the Lakers and how great they really were before all turmoil began. Kobe dominated, Shaq entertained and the stars shined in Phoenix.

It was also fitting to see Kobe and Shaq win the MVP together, and have a funny press conference after the game. They hinted that they wouldn't mind playing together again under the right circumstances. It was also Bill Russell's 75th Birthday yesterday and it was great to see all the players honor him

To me this was one of the better All-Star Games I have ever seen in awhile. Usually I don't like them but for some reason it caught my attention. The second half of the season is going to be great. You have the Lakers, Cavs, Celtics, Magic, Nuggets who all have a lot of momentum right now. One of these five teams will win the NBA Finals this year. I am looking forward to the rest of the year and the playoffs. Get ready because it's going to be exciting and fun.

Howard, Roberston and....Cook steal the show.

Last night was All-Star Saturday Night in the NBA. And it was awesome to see Dwight Howard and Nate Robertson square off in the finals of the Dunk Contest. They did some crazy stuff, maybe not as crazy as the last two years but crazy enough. Then you had the Three-Point Shootout and a surprising new face won it..Daequan Cook from the Miami Heat. Never heard of this guy, but I guess I have heard of him now. He was impressive in the shootout beating Mike Bibby, Danny Granger, Jason Kapono, Rashard Lewis and Roger Mason.

These young guys performances are really putting the pressure on the superstars to start participating again, even so much that Lebron James said he would be in the Slam Dunk Contest next year in Dallas. Please Lebron, please do it because it would send a message to all the other guys like Kobe, Vince Carter and others to get back into it.

I was definitely pumped up after watching it last night. The All-Star Game is on tonight and it should be a good and entertaining game. Have a great day. I know I will, it's a busy day in sports. God Bless you all.

Three Wide Recievers available for the taking

Apparently NFL Agent Drew Rosenhaus sent an email out to all NFL Teams that said, Anquan Boldin, Chad Johnson, Plaxico Burress are available through trade. Now If I am sitting in my office and I get this email I would say Boldin is great, but Johnson and Burress I wouldn't even touch them. Both Johnson and Burress are cancers on any team they play with at this point. This would be like trying to pawn Terrell Owens off on someone. No one will take him. Boldin however is an outstanding Wide Receiver who really doesn't have the issues the other two do and would make a great addition to whatever team he is on.

So if I am a team president, I would say Boldin Yes; Burress and Johnson No! Only time will tell if these three guys get moved.

Thanks for being honest A-Rod

A few days ago Alex Rodriguez admitted to steroid use from 2001-2003 in his years with the Texas Rangers. I am glad A-Rod manned up and accepted responsibility for his actions. He learned from others players mistakes and decided not to deny it. Look at Jason Giambi. He came right out and said it, and no one really gives him crap about it anymore. It's guys like Clemens, McGwire, and Bonds who are making fools out of themselves kind of like the same way a few others have.

I had a lot of respect for A-Rod and gained a little bit of it back when he came out told the truth. Do I think he will be in the Hall of Fame? Yes I do, because if it only ends up being three years of his career then that's not the majority of it. I think he will also break the all time home run record and be placed amongst the greatest that ever played the game.

I hope baseball players just understand they don't have to lie about it. Come clean, be honest and don't make fools out of yourselves. There is no reason to put you and your family through the same garbage all these other guys have. I hope A-Rod will overcome this and become even better then he was before. Spring Training is a few weeks away so hopefully he can get his head on straight.

Christian has returned to the WWE

Since the WWE brought back ECW back in 2006, I have never really gotten excited about watching it because not to many exciting things ever happen on that show. They have had some great matches on that show but nothing really that sticks out. For months there has been rumors, anticipation and questions on one wrestler. When was he going to return? Would he be involved in the Jeff Hardy storyline? That man in none other then Christian. Christian returned to WWE last night on ECW and confronted ECW Champion Jack Swagger. It actually shocked me because like everyone else I thought he would show up on Smackdown. I love being proved wrong because wrestling is so predictable now a days.

As most of you know Christian left WWE in 2005 to join TNA. In TNA he became a two-time NWA Heavyweight Champion and had some great matches there. However I am excited that he's back in the WWE. He is probably going to be the face of ECW for awhile and probably become ECW Champion. It will be interesting to see if he has any interaction with Edge and the Hardy's. I hope so because that is a feud that needs to be rekindled. I am happy that Christian is back in the WWE.

My prediction is the Christian will be the ECW Champion before Wrestlemania is over or he will end up winning Money in the Bank this year. Only time will tell to see if I am right.

News and Notes Around Sports

Well here is whats going on in the sports world after a huge weekend in sports.

MLB
Reports are coming out that Alex Rodriguez tested positive for steroids in 2003 when he won the MVP. This definitely shocked me and I feel like a fool because awhile back someone asked if I thought he did steroids. I said no because he is too much of a classy guy to do something like that. Well I guess I was wrong, but then again he is dating Madonna so what does that tell you. Manny is still unsigned and who knows how long that saga is going to go on. I hope he signs soon.

NBA
The Lakers gave the Cavs their first home loss yesterday and I was shocked. I still think this the NBA Finals Match up. Kobe and Lebron are both on fire right now but like I said in an earlier post, I think Kobe is better then Lebron right now. It was a great competitive game yesterday. I hope to see more of Kobe vs. Lebron.

NFL
The NFC defeated the AFC in the Pro Bowl yesterday. Larry Fitzgerald was named the MVP which was rightfully earned. It was actually a good game for once. The only All-Star game I really enjoy is baseballs. They actually play for something and it's the most competitive out of all the All-Star games. This was actually fun to watch for a change.

NASCAR
Kevin Harvick won the Bud Shootout Saturday night in a wild race. I think the Daytona 500 is going to be great this year. I also watched qualifying yesterday and Mark Martin and Martin Truex Jr. are on the front row and with the Twin 125's this week we will finally see who is going to be in the Daytona 500.

This weekend, especially Sunday is going to be awesome. You have the Daytona 500, the NBA All Star Game and WWE's No Way Out. I will be at Buffalo Wild Wings this Sunday for No Way Out, hope to see you all there. God Bless and be safe.

My neighbor has entered their dog into the United States Humane Society and local animal shelters photo contest. It is to make people aware of spaying their animals. The requirement to vote is to donate how ever much money you want. It is going to a good cause so get out and vote. Besides I take care of Snoopy every once in a while. NASCAR season on the horizon

One more week until the Daytona 500 and the NASCAR season officially begins. This weekend though is Budweiser Shootout on Fox and I am really curious to see who has going to come out fighting. Jimmie Johnson now has won the last three championships and he is a marked man. Like my brother told me a week ago, don't be surprised to see him get wrecked purposely a few times this year. No one has ever won four championships in a row. I really hope Dale Jr. takes it this year. He has been fighting for a long time and I think it's his time to shine. I cannot wait until the 500 next weekend. It's always the best race of the year. I'll be rooting for #88 and hope he wins himself another 500 and his first championship this year.

First Kobe, then Lebron

This past week Kobe Bryant set a Madison Square Garden for most points in a single game with 61. Then two nights ago Lebron almost pulled off the same feat by scoring 52 points in MSG. One has to wonder who is the better player right now? Right now I would say Kobe because he is still in his prime and has three championships to his name whereas Lebron doesn't have any. Lebron has the team to do it this year and I seriously think they can compete with the Boston Celtics to get into the NBA Championship. I actually think the NBA Finals will now be the Lakers-Cavs.

I know I said Boston earlier in the season but Cleveland wants it more then Boston does right now. It would not surprise me at all if Cleveland walked away with an NBA Title this year. Only time will tell, and it is only half way through the season so a lot can change. Stay tuned.

A UFC Fight that needs to happen

Last night I was discussing all the possible UFC Matches that should happen with my good friend and MMA fan Josh Simon and one he mentioned stood out to both of us and others around us. He said that the UFC should make a match between Forrest Griffin vs. Wanderlei Silva. We both felt that both men have a lot to prove after their losses at UFC 92. Both are angry, bitter and pissed off that they lost so it would make for a great fight. However it shouldn't be just any fight. It should be for the number one contender spot for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. Both men are deserving of that title and both would make great champions. Griffin vs. Silva Petition

Other matches we discussed were a possible rematch between Chuck Liddell and Rampage Jackson because they are both in different stages of their careers. I personally think the outcome would be different, but many don't feel the same way. The other match that I would want to see is Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar. Both come from the WWE and would prove that just because you're in the WWE, it doesn't mean you can't fight. Those are the matches that came to mind but the big one is the one first mentioned and that's Griffin vs. Silva. Help us make it happen. Hope to see some signatures soon.

Thoughts on Super Bowl 43

Waking up this morning my first initial reaction to the Super Bowl is that James Harrison should be fined and suspended for the two punches he threw in the game last night. One of them was the on sidelines and the other on the field during a play. He was named Defensive Player of the Year. What he did last night wasn't defense it was dirty. I'll give credit for the 100 Yard Interception for a touchdown but that's the only intelligent thing he did in the game. Like I said he should be fined and suspended at least four games at the start of next years regular season. To me it was uncalled for.

Now that is out of the way, I thought it was a great game. It was great to see the Cardinals get themselves back into it after a slow start and some horrible calls by the refs. Kurt Warner in terms of stats, out-played and out-classed Big Ben. To me Pittsburgh did not earn that Super Bowl until the last drive. The refs called stuff in their favor all night. I feel bad for Mike Holmgren who was sitting there watching the game unfold. Yeah, remember the game that was fixed a few years back that saw Jerome Bettis win a Super Bowl his last game. Seattle was clearly the better team that year and in the game but the refs gave it to the Steelers.

I will say this, Santonio Holmes had a great game and deserved the MVP. The last catch he made at the end was nothing short of spectacular. He is what really carried that offense, not Ben. Kurt Warner, I tip my hat off to you as well sure. You had a great game, so did Larry Fitzgerald who in my opinion is the best Wide Receiver in the game today.

It was a close Super Bowl, maybe not the way I predicted but it was close and exciting. The big questions I have after this game are:

Is Kurt Warner going to retire?
Will Kurt Warner make the Hall of Fame?

And on the note, I am calling it a day. Congrats the Pittsburgh Steelers and the referees. Have a good one.

Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 09

The 2009 class for the Football Hall of Fame has been announced, and just like the old saying goes, Defense is what wins championships and makes you a successful team. With that being said the three main inductees are Bruce Smith, Rod Woodson and Derrick Thomas.

Bruce Smith who played the majority of his career with the Buffalo Bills and the last part of it with the Redskins is the all time leader in Sacks with 200 after surpassing the late great Reggie White in 2003. He's won a lot of awards and is probably one of the greatest defensive players never to win a Super Bowl. However his stats and abilities alone rightfully make him Hall of Fame bound.

Rod Woodson who has appeared in a Super Bowl multiple times but only won when he was with the Baltimore Ravens in the later part of his career. He holds two records which are 1,483 career interception yards and 12 interceptions returned for touchdowns. Quite a feat if you ask me and is very deserving of the Hall of Fame.

And last but not least the late Derrick Thomas who has a couple of records of his own which include, 7 sacks in 1 game and 45 career forced fumbles. He only played 10 years for the Kansas City Chiefs and in 2003 was tragically killed in an automobile accident. Derrick Thomas' family should be very proud because he was a great player who is still missed today.

So there you have it, the 2009 Pro Football Hall of Fame Inductees. I for one can't wait to here there speeches. Until then it's Super Bowl Sunday and I am still standing by prediction. Arizona 24, Pittsburgh 21. Be back tomorrow for the recap.
