Last night at the Friday Night Smackdown tapings Rey Mysterio lost in his Intercontinental Title due to being suspended for 30 days because of violating the WWE's Drug and Wellness policy. A lot of people are saying his WWE career might be over due to a controversial interview he did in Mexico. He stated that the suspension wasn't justified which infuriated Vince McMahon. Mysterio has been in a lot of reports since Benoit did suggesting he does do steroids of some sorts. Only time will tell if he comes back to WWE. For now I would not count on it for awhile. So this Friday you will see Rey Mysterio lose the Intercontinental title to John Morrison in what I am told is a very great match that should be on a pay-per-view. I will definitely be tuning in. My question is, where does this leave Dolph Ziggler who was scheduled to face Rey at Breaking Point? Does it now become Morrison vs. Ziggler? I guess we will have to wait and find out.
This suspension is one of those that really screws up things. For example, in 2008 when Jeff Hardy got suspended before Wrestlemania that screwed things up. He was scheduled to win Money in the Bank that year and win the title earlier then he did but didn't because of his suspension. The winner of that match was CM Punk and his career has been great ever since. Guys who drop the ball are giving other guys a huge chance to be somebody. Look at the night Chris Benoit murdered his family and himself. He was suppose to be at a PPV wrestling CM Punk for the ECW Championship that was vacated. Who took Benoit's place? A talented young man by the name of Johnny Nitro who is now known as John Morrison. Coincidence? I am not sure but I know one thing for sure the young guys like Ziggler, Tyson Kidd, David Hart-Smith, Matt Hardy are going to be in line for that title. I cannot wait to see what happens with Intercontinental title the next few months. I think it's going to make for some exciting and fresh matches. Stay tuned to find out more.

White Sox throwing in the white flag, while the Dodgers gain
It would appear that the White Sox don't believe they can win the AL Central any longer because they traded two of their best players away last night. Jim Thome is now with the L.A. Dodgers and Jose Contreras to the Rockies. The White Sox are six games back of the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central with only four weeks left to play. However those were not the only last minute deals yesterday. The Dodgers also acquired Jon Garland from Arizona and Ronnie Belliard Washington. The Giants signed Brad Penny to a minor league deal in hopes of him coming back. It would appear that the Dodgers have the advantage now going into the final month of the season and into the playoffs. They now have tons of depth and pitching on their roster. I will be very surprised if the Dodgers do not make it to the World Series and win it all. They have the team to beat right now.
As far as the American League goes, it's a mess as always. Minnesota still has a chance, Boston and Texas are still in it. The Angels did acquire Scott Kazmir last weekend increasing the strength of their rotation but at the end of it all I think the New York Yankees will be in the World Series. Sabathia, and Burnett are starting to prove why they were brought to New York to begin with. The Tigers are to inconsistent and won't make it past the first round if they make it to the playoffs. If the Wild card is Texas, they will be knocked out quick as well. The only teams that can compete with the Yankees are the Angels and Red Sox. So if you ask me the World Series will be the L.A. Dodgers against the New York Yankees with the Dodgers winning in six games. If I am wrong I will make sure to let all of you know but thats my final prediction for the year on baseball. This last month is going to be intense and will be fun to watch so keep your eyes open and see who makes the playoffs.

Chavo Guerrero's role in WWE
Week after week one of the things I see on Monday Night Raw is Chavo Guerrero being made to look like an idiot on national television. Ever since Extreme Rules, this year he has been in the dumbest of matches losing to a Leprechaun named Hornswoggle. Lets start from most recent and go backwards.
August 31st
Bull rope match dressed up as a cow
August 24th
Boxing Match
August 17th
Falls Count Anywhere
July 27th
Blindfold match
July 20th
"Sharp Dressed Man” Tuxedo Match
July 9th
Chavo had wrestle on his knees
These are all the ridiculous matches Chavo has been in and he has lost them all. At first it was kind of funny but it's not anymore. Chavo has not took part in a serious wrestling match in a very long time and it's a disgrace because he comes from a very legendary family. It's also horrible because Eddie died with WWE and the people loved Chavo when he was going out as a good guy trying to honor his uncle. Chavo is a lot better then what they are presenting him on TV. I mean the guy has a pretty decent resume.
ECW Champion
Four time WWE Cruiserweight Champion
Two time WWE Tag Team Champion
WCW Tag Team Champion
Two Time WCW Cruiserweight Champion
If I was Chavo Guerrero I would leave WWE and go to TNA because he would probably be taken more seriously. His family has made a lot of contributions to pro wrestling and well known throughout Mexico and the United States as well as Japan. It's one thing to have funny stuff on television but I don't think a whole lot of people are laughing. I hope Chavo gets his deserved push soon or leaves the WWE and go somewhere else where is appreciated. I want to see Chavo go back to the old ways of "I lie, I Cheat, I steal," and do some of stuff Eddie and him did as a tag team. Only time will tell if Chavo gets his break and has some competitive matches again. Stay tuned for more

Tedy Bruschi Retires
Yesterday a great career of 13 years came to an end. Tedy Bruschi's decided to retire after spending all 13 years of his career with the New England Patriots. He was drafted 86th overall in the 1996 draft and what a remarkable career he had. He accomplished quite a bit for a linebacker including:
-2 time All-American (1994, 1995)
-3 time First-team All-Pac 10 (1993, 1994, 1995)
-1995 Morris Trophy Winner (Defense)
-Second-team All-Pro (2004)
-2 time Pro Bowl selection (2004, 2005)
-Co-NFL Comeback Player of the Year (2005)
-2 time Ed Block Courage Award winner (2000, 2005)
-3 time Super Bowl champion (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX)
In 2005, he suffered a mild stroke which many thought would end his career as football player but came back to play in the fall where he continued to play up until yesterday. Even the often unemotional Bill Belichick was choked up talking about Tedy yesterday stating he was the perfect player. There is not doubt in my mind Bruschi will be in the Hall of Fame someday and will be considered for having one of best comebacks in sports history. Congratulations Tedy on an outstanding career. You deserve all the recognition in the world.

ESPN Fantasy Baseball Update
Some of you may have noticed I haven't posted on my ESPN Fantasy Baseball team in a long time. Well I threw in the white flag a while ago. I am 4-17 and in dead last against my fellow employees at where I work. I am very ashamed I didn't do better considering my knowledge of baseball. There is always next year and I know I will do better. This is my first year running a full fantasy baseball team and I think it will take me a little bit to catch on. There is one trend I might follow next year and I am not giving strategy away to anyone. Well I will be back at the end of the season to show you how horrible I did in this league. Until then you'll have to be patient.
Nogueira reclaims dominance at UFC 102
UFC 102 didn't leave my disappointed Saturday Night. The long awaited fight between Randy Couture and Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira didn't let down at all. But before I get to that lets talk about a few other fights. For example Todd Duffee knocked Tim Hague in seven seconds a new UFC record. Hague is from Calgary, Alberta Canada and now might just be as famous as Bret Hart. Gabriel Gonzaga got back into the win column with a victory against Chris Tuchscherer. Brandon Vera defeated Krzysztof Soszynski in a good three round battle. Also Nate Marquardt defeated Demian Maia in 21 seconds which shocked me because Maia is a really good fighter and was undefeated up until that point. And what about Keith Jardine getting beat by Thiago Silva in 95 seconds. I thought for sure that fight was going three rounds with as many 3 round fights Jardine has had.
The finally the battle of two legends, Couture vs. Nogueira. The fight didn't disappoint but it was mainly dominated by Nogueira. Couture did counter a lot of Nogueira's submission attempts which kept him in the fight for the whole duration of it. I have a lot of respect for both fighters. With this victory Nogueira is probably next in line for Lesnar that is unless Shane Carwin somehow beats Lesnar at UFC 106 which I doubt will happen. UFC 103 is September 19th so I will be back then with more UFC news. The Ultimate Fighter starts September 16th and It's going to be great. Stay tuned for more...

What about Drew Stanton?
I am not much of a Detroit Lions fan...actually I am not a Lions fan at all but there is one thing thats got me interested. All anyone is talking about is the Quarterback battle between Matthew Stafford, and Dante Caulpepper. I've watched all three preseason games and why is no one talking about Drew Stanton? He has looked the best out of three so far this year. Personally I think he should be the starter opening day. He's got to be somewhat good if he was drafted in the second round. I think if he started on a regular basis and got into a rhythm and system then he could be great. Look at his numbers at MSU
YEAR CMP ATT YDS CMP% LNG TD INT SACKED

Those number are not that bad. They aren't that great but I've seen worst. He could be a prodigy and superstar waiting to happen. I think if the Lions don't give him a fair shot he will leave and end being a success wherever he goes. There are some teams in need of a good Quarterback. I think of a few teams like the Houston Texans, Buffalo Bills, St. Louis Rams, San Fransisco 49ers, and I might even say the Washington Redskins. There will always be a team i need of a good Quarterback. Stanton had the game winning touchdown today and has moved the ball more then the other two. Anyways on that note I think you are going to hear a lot more from Drew Stanton in the future. I wouldn't count him just yet. Stay tuned for the rise of Drew Stanton.

An NFL first...I think
Why is their always drama in Dallas when it comes to the Cowboys. If it isn't Romo with Jessica and the problems with T.O. in the past. Now the drama isn't even with a person, its about a big video screen. Jerry Jones paid for a new 1 billion dollar stadium for the Cowboys. Just one problem the video screen/scoreboard the hangs in the center above is a bit low. The league standard is 85 feet above the field. The video screen/scoreboard hangs 90 feet above. So for the first time in NFL history as far as I know the league had to make a ruling about how to handle kicks and punts that are interfered with by the scoreboard being to low. Here is what they have come to.
The NFL will allow the video scoreboard to remain but the down will be replayed if ball hits scoreboard. Coaches can't challenge it but the refs can if they think it's close. I have never heard of anything like this but if anyone else has let me know. I am curious to know what it is. Isn't it like Jerry Jones and the Cowboys to stir up some controversy and make things difficult. I will make this guarantee. They will be asked to raise the video screen at the end of the season because people will be so fed up with having to replay every punt or kickoff. I feel bad for any punter or kicker who has toe enter that stadium this year. It's ridiculous. I hope this comes back to haunt them. It should be an interesting season for the Cowboys without T.O. and the new video scoreboard. I cannot wait to see what happens

Rey Mysterio Suspended for 30 Days
Earlier this week I was shocked to learn that the masked marvel Rey Mysterio was suspended for 30 days for violating the WWE's drug and wellness policy. Actually it doesn't surprise me because his name has been mentioned a lot since Chris Benoit died. He has been named in numerous reports about wrestlers who take steroids, or other drugs. This is not good for him considering he is the Hulk Hogan of luchadors in Mexico. He has such a huge fan base in the WWE and across parts of the world. So what does this mean for the Intercontinental Championship?
Well it means he will probably lose the title this Tuesday at the Smackdown tapings. He will probably lose it to Dolph Ziggler who he was scheduled to wrestle at the next WWE Pay-per-view Breaking Point. There are a lot of guys who are deserving of that title right now. The ones I think of are Matt Hardy, John Morrison, Tyson Kidd, David Hart Smith, Finlay and even Kane. The one thing I am glad about is that due to this suspension some of the younger guys will get pushed a little bit harder then they are now. I am also glad that WWE does not play favorites with their superstars regarding their policies. Mysterio is a huge name and he is paying the price for his mistakes. You can bet that he will not get a title again for a long time and will be losing a lot when he comes back.
With all that being said I wonder who Dolph Zigglers opponent will be at Breaking Point? I hope it's Morrison or Hardy. We will find out on September 13th.

Jeff Hardy leaves the WWE
Last night on Smackdown Jeff Hardy said his farewell to the WWE as he lost the loser leaves town World Heavyweight Title match in a steel cage match against CM Punk. I was really happy to see Jeff have a proper send off. Over the last week he has had two incredible matches with a guy that he made a credible main eventer and made him a credible heel. So yes I am agree with what Matt Hardy said. He stated Jeff made CM Punk a credible main eventer and heel. Matt also called out some of the internet wrestling community who criticized Jeff Hardy by saying that they should respect Jeff Hardy because of what he has done for their friend. I agree with that totally. It wouldn't surprise me if these certain internet wrestling fans are from Chicago or even wrestlers from Chicago. Chicago wrestlers are known to be assholes and know it all's. At least thats what I have heard from people.Anyways enough but the war of words. Jeff's three run in the WWE was awesome. As I mentioned before he did a lot of great things in his second run with the WWE. He had some great matches with Umaga, Mr. Kennedy, Triple H, Edge and his brother Matt. Do I think Jeff will be back? Most certainly yes. His career is not over by a long shot. Jeff Hardy will be in the WWE Hall of Fame someday and will always be remembered for his rock star like entrance and his craziness in the ring.
All I got to say is Jeff, I look forward to seeing you on TV again.

NFL games I can't wait to watch this year
With the regular season just around the corner there some games with some significance that I look forward to watching. A lot of potentially good games this year. So hear are the ones I am looking forward to the most.
Week 1
Titans vs. Steelers on Thursday Night
Week 3
Panthers vs. Cowboys on Monday Night
Week 4
Vikings vs. Packers on Monday Night
Week 8
Panthers vs. Cardinals on Sunday
Week 13
Eagles vs. Falcons on Sunday
Vikings vs. Cardinals on Sunday
Right now these are the only games that seem appealing to me. Obviously every Carolina Panther game is interesting to me but these games stand out to me for a number of reasons. Notice no Detroit Lions games. I wouldn't be surprised if they go 0-16 once again. They have a pretty tough schedule. They must be trying to make history the only way the can. I love football season. September 10th is opening kickoff and I cannot wait.

WWE Summerslam Recap
I've said it on this blog many of times that nothing in wrestling really excites me anymore but last night may have been the exception to what I've been saying. Summerslam 2009 was an exceptionally solid PPV which kept you going from the opening bell until the return of the Undertaker at the end. The first match of the evening was for the Intercontinental Championship between Rey Mysterio and Dolph Ziggler. It was a fast pace back and forth match that saw Rey keep his title. I do tip my hat to Dolph though because he had one hell of a match. He'll eventually get the title. Up next was MVP vs. Jack Swagger which was a solid match between two of biggest up and coming stars on Monday Night. Both showed off their skills but in the end MVP won the match. It was a good match between two totally different cultures and styles.
It was then time...time for Cryme Tyme to take on the Unified Tag Team Champions in Big Show and Chris Jericho. Cryme Tyme really proved that they could hang with the best in the business. I thought the match was excellent but in the end Show and Jericho retained their titles.
Next up was Kane taking on the Great Khali. Personally I hate matches like these but it was better then the usual. Kane got the victory and makes me wonder if the feud is over. For our sake I hope it is.
I don't about you but I was ready. I was ready but I wasn't prepared for one of the most spectacular returns in pro wrestling history. You had to watch it to appreciate. The return of DX was simply electrifying in ways I didn't think were possible. The match itself was totally what I expected and more. I said a week or so ago that people would remember the night Rhodes/Dibiase fought DX because they would have the match of their lives. They hung in there with two legends in Shawn Michaels and Triple H. The match was great and DX got the victory.
Up next was the shortest title match in history between Christian and William Regal. I think it last six seconds. What a slap in the face to two great wrestlers. It seems like ECW is the joke of all the PPV's or they are not getting the credit they deserve. I can tell you this, since ECW has been officially apart of the WWE I have only enjoyed two of their championship matches. There was the night CM Punk defeated John Morrison in 2007 on TV. The other match was recently between Christian against Tommy Dreamer in an Extreme Rules match. That was also on TV. The only thing I liked about this match is Regals new alliance with Ezekiel Jackson and Vladimir Kozloff. It's kind of interesting actually. Anyways nothing exciting about this match
I've seen a lot of great WWE Title matches but I've never seen anything more crazy then I did last night. Orton got himself got DQ'd then the match got restarted. Orton then got himself counted out then again the match got restarted. Orton got the pin with his feet on the ropes. Another referee came out and for the third time the match got restarted. Cena looked like he had the victory then a fan came in and messed things up. Orton eventually gave Cena the RKO and kept his title.
A lot of people knew the outcome of this next with Jeff Hardy and CM Punk. It was Tables, Ladders and Chairs and it was one of the most brutal and exciting matches I've ever seen. Both men abused their bodies in ways you shouldn't. In the end, CM Punk ousted Jeff Hardy to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. As Punk was celebrating the lights went out and when they came back on the Undertaker was lying in the ring in Jeff Hardy's spot. The Undertaker choke slammed the new champ and left him lying as Summerslam ended.
I am not saying it was the greatest PPV of all time but it was very solid. DX's entrance stole the show, Ziggler/Mysterio was great and so was the TLC match. I would definitely rate it 7.5/10. A lot of people were buzzing after the PPV and said it was the best PPV they have seen out of WWE in a long time. I would have to agree. I am looking forward to the fallout from all three brands this week on TV. It should be interesting. If you didn't watch it you missed out but you can always but it on DVD. Well those are my thoughts. Hope you all enjoyed a good PPV.

WWE Summerslam Predictions
Tomorrow night is the night...The Biggest party of the Summer. It's Summerslam and I for one cannot wait. It looks to be a great card. Here is the final card along with my predictions
WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena
I think this could be there best match to date. I have a great feeling about this match but in the end Randy Orton will remain WWE Champion and remain the top heel in the company
World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk in a TLC Match
Based on everything I've seen, read and heard I think the WWE Universe will be shocked and Jeff Hardy will retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
Cryme Tyme vs. Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show
Cryme Tyme is a legit tag team who has not held gold yet in the WWE but Jericho and Big Show make for a dominating tag team so in the end Jericho and Show keep the titles.
Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio vs. Dolph Ziggler
Rey Mysterio is nearing the end of his prime. Dolph Ziggler's time is now. He reminds me so much of Curt Henning in terms of his looks and charisma. I think Dolph Ziggler aka Nicky from the Spirit Squad walks out the new Intercontinental Champion
D-Generation X vs. The Legacy
Finally Shawn Michaels returns. I am going to stand behind my statement and say once again that this match will put Rhodes/Dibiase one step closer to being big. They made themselves look great with their attack on DX this past Monday. I cannot wait to see a DX return, victory and celebration.
The Great Khali vs. Kane
Usually the heel in this feud wins so I am going with Kane
ECW Champion Christian vs. William Regal
This match could steal the show because of the two unique styles they both bring. I really enjoy Christians work and believe he will continue to be the face of ECW for a little while longer.
Jack Swagger vs. MVP
I like this feud between Swagger and MVP. Both are great athletes and bring a different vibe to Monday Night Raw. I would like to see Swagger win because he is a great amateur wrestler but I think MVP will be victorious.
I think their will be some interesting surprises tomorrow night. Look at all the guys not on the show. Matt Hardy, Kofi Kingston, Hart Dynasty, John Morrison, Mark Henry, The Miz, and Finlay. Who knows, maybe the Undertaker will return tomorrow night. It will be a great night of action. I will be sitting at Buffalo Wild Wings in Grand Rapids, Michigan on 28th st watching all of it unfold. I will be back on tomorrow night with a recap of what happened.

Hardy Boys reunite for the last time?
Last night on a really great episode of Smackdown Matt and Jeff Hardy teamed up with John Morrison against CM Punk and the Hart Dynasty. The question is, is this the last time that we see the Hardy Boys together as a tag team. It has been widely reported that Jeff Hardy's contract expires after Summerslam and that he will be leaving the company. If this happens to be true Jeff had a great 3 year run even though he was suspended for 90 days back in 2008. In his three year second run with the WWE he has accomplished a lot. He held the Intercontinental Title three times, the WWE Title one time, the World Heavyweight Title one time and even one the Tag Team titles with Matt one time. He had some great matches with Edge, Triple H, Umaga and Mr. Kennedy. I can tell you without any doubt my favorite Jeff Hardy moment is Armageddon 2008 when he won the WWE title in a triple threat match against Edge and Triple H.
However I do have to mention that late last night Matt Hardy posted this on his twitter account.
"Here's an update for the "sheets"-Jeff & I might not team again due to pursuing singles careers. And Jeff will be with WWE after Summerslam".So this might be a case of WWE falsely leaking things to get the fans talking. They have done this before. A lot of people are expecting CM Punk to win the World Heavyweight Championship but then again why would they put it on Hardy for only a month just lose it again. Something tells me that the viewers watching Summerslam are in for a few surprises. Only time will tell...

It's always better live
Last night was the first time in nine years I have gone to a Detroit Tigers game. I know it's kind of crazy I don't go more often. It was the third time I've been to a Tigers game and it's the third time they have lost. Ichiro had a home run, Carlos Guillen had a home run and Justin Verlander had 10 strikeouts. I love the atmosphere of Comerica Park. There was one point where the Wave went around like 4 or 5 times. It's one of the most beautiful parks I've ever seen and been too. The Television doesn't do it justice.
I've always said that about sporting events. It's way better watching it in person then it is on TV. At least thats how it's always been for me. We had really good seats. We sat on the third baseline by the foul pole. I got to watch Verlander warm up in the bullpen and saw a few other guys warm up as well. It was a really fun experience going to the Tigers game last night. It was also kind of cool seeing Ford Field which is a place I will probably never go to unless the Carolina Panthers come to town.
Well that's all from me about my night in Detroit. I hope to go back to more games in the near future. Go Tigers!!!

Brett Favre: You've got to be kidding me
Wasn't it just three weeks ago that this idiot said he was retired and there wasn't a chance that he was going to play this season. Well know he's done it again. He's come out of retirement for the 100th time. What makes it worst is he is playing for the Minnesota Vikings, a division rival of the Packers. All I can say is that you have lost your mind, your integrity and your respect for the fans in Green Bay that supported you and cheered you. I thought Michael Jordan coming out of retirement to play for the Wizards is bad but this is absolutely ridiculous.
Brett Favre has nothing left to prove. Look at all he had done.
-10 time Pro Bowl selection (1992, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2008)
-3 time First-team All-Pro selection (1995, 1996, 1997)
-3 time Second-team All-Pro selection (2001, 2002, 2007)
-3 time AP NFL MVP (1995–1997)
-5 time NFC Player of the Year (1995, 1996, 1997, 2002, 2007)
-Super Bowl champion (XXXI)
So why are doing this again? Are you bored? Are you middle aged and crazy? Or are suffering from a midlife crisis?
All I can say is that when walk back into Green Bay on the opposing side, I hope you get embarrassed. One of the Packers defensive players was asked if he'd like to hit him and he said hell yes, put it on the bulletin board. All I have to say is October 5th and November 1st are must see TV for football. The Packers vs. Vikings, and one of the games is a Monday Night game. I am not going to say anymore before I go off and say stuff I really don't want to say. Here is a video of what the Packers players are thinking about all of this

Thoughts on Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett
Okay so last night I was very shocked that Kurt Angle was allowed to keep the TNA Heavyweight Title after being arrested. He was arrested for multiple things which include:
* Driving while operating privileges suspended
* Prohibited acts
* Possession
* Harassment
Kurt Angle may see his career come to an end because of his own stupidity and horrible choices. I respect Kurt Angle as a wrestler and what he has done in the business but this is ridiculous. If this isn't bad enough, his ex-wife Karen Angle is now living with the TNA Founder Jeff Jarrett. Now as far as this situation goes I don't agree with.
Jeff Jarrett is another guy I respect because of what he's done for pro wrestling but letting your top stars ex-wife live with you is not a very smart move. Double J has not been on TV since the report got out about the whole situation. There is a very bad struggle in TNA right now for power. I would really hate to be Dixie Carter at this point in time. This is not the first time a situation like this has happen in wrestling. Lets see here are a few examples
-Nancy Benoit left Kevin Sullivan for Chris Benoit. Enough said there
-Miss Elizabeth left Randy Savage and eventually was with Lex Luger when she died.
-Who can forget when Lita left Matt Hardy for Edge and turned into a full fledged storyline on TV.
The only situation that turned out good was for Hardy and Edge because both of their careers got big after their feud ended. Obviously the bad part was that Lita quit the business because of all the harassment she got from fans and others.
In defense of Karen Angle I will say this. She didn't move in with Jeff until the divorce was finalized. It's not like they were having an affair. Karen was divorced an Jeff was a widower. I am not saying it was smart or right but you have to look at it from their points of view. No one knows what they are thinking. I think Jeff has hurt himself by not coming out and speaking on the matter.
There so many questions surrounding TNA about who is in control and who has the power. Kurt really hurt his chances of gaining power with being arrested. Jeff might be able to get his power back. Only time will tell to see what happens. I'll be curious to see what happens at the Impact tapings this week. Stay tuned for more.

CWM August Afteshock Results
CWM August Aftershock
August 16th, 2009
Latvian Hall in Grand Rapids, MI
Reported by "Hollywood" Joe Williamson
The show started with Jack Verville taking on the bigger Sebastian Rose. Rose dominated the match with his power and his shear size advantage but in the end Verville pulled out the victory by getting Rose in a small package. After the match was over Rose took the referees belt off and started whipping Verville.
Deuce Diamond returned to the CWM be defeating Jemini Taylor who made his CWM singles debut.
Up next was Kris Korvis who took on the Martial Arts expert Louis Linden. This match was back and forth and potentially could be match of the year candidate in CWM for 2009. Korvis defeated Louis Linden but the victory came with controversy. Korvis had his feet on the ropes getting the victory in his CWM Debut
Noah Lott came out to the ring and told the fans how he didn't choose Scott EZ as his partner. He went on to say that he does not like EZ, does not consider him a friend or partner. Noah Lott said he was just in it for the belt and being a champion. Before Scott EZ came out it almost seemed like it would be a 3 on 1 handicap match between the Canadian Hit Squad and Noah Lott against EZ. However Noah Lott started the match and was isolated by the Hit Squad for most of the match. Eventually when Noah Lott tagged in his partner, Scott EZ cleaned house and made John Campbell pass out with a modified Cobra Clutch. As the fans cheered Scott EZ, Noah Lott was not impressed or amused.
The Television title match was next with champion T-D defending against Jeff Brooks. This was another highly competitive match which saw the 10 minute time limit expire. T-D wasn't satisfied with his victory so he has asked for five more minutes. Commissioner Paco Zimmer came out and said go for it. It took T-D a mere 10 seconds after the bell rang to defeat Jeff Brooks.
Next up was the main event of the evening. King LeoTitus (formerly known as "Too Tough" Tommy Titus) came out and compared himself to the great Spartan Warriors from long ago and said that no one can stop him. Paco Zimmer then came out and told LeoTitus that he was sick of the lying, cheating, swerving and stealing. The commissioner went on to say he had an opponent for the King who just as ruthless as he was. He then brought out Alcatraz and removed his chains. The monster was unleashed and it was an all out brawl for a good portion of the match. Alcatraz took a lot of damage to his leg but kept coming back. Sensing all of this LeoTitus shoved the referee down but so did Alcatraz after the ref didn't count 3. The match ended in double disqualification and LeoTitus escaped with the CWM Heavyweight Title. Alcatraz said he was not finished with LeoTitus and asked the crowd if they wanted more. Commissioner Zimmer they would get more on September 13th and the CWM Heavyweight Title would be defended in a No-Disqualification match.
The next show is scheduled for September 13th and one has to wonder the following:
-Who is next in line for T-D's TV Title?
-Can Noah Lott and Scott EZ continue to coexist as Tag Team champions?
-What's next for Sebastian Rose, Jack Verville, Kris Korvis and Louis Linden?
-Who is next in line for the CWM Tag Team Titles?
-Will LeoTitus be able to escape the wrath of Alcatraz?

Michael Vick Signs with the Eagles
The city of Brotherly Love might have to show some love this coming NFL Season. The Philadelphia Eagles have signed Michael Vick to a year two year deal. Michael Vick has had some great people by him these last few months. Tony Dungy has been advising Vick him and that cannot be a bad thing. Dungy is one of the most respected people in football and has a lot of class. I don't think Dungy would be representing Vick if Vick wasn't remorseful for what he did.
I've also heard that Donovan McNabb lobbied to get Michael Vick with Eagles citing that he was not worried about his starting spot. He said the Eagles will use Vick as another offensive weapon. I don't know how the fans, the other teams and more importantly the league will react to watching him play again. I think the match everyone is looking forward to is week 12 when the Eagles play the Falcons in Atlanta. It should be interesting.

Most Bizarre Fight Ever
Okay So I was watching UFC Unleashed last night and they always show replays of old fights. I was watching Tim Sylvia just beat the crap out of this one guy. His name is Wesley "Cabbage" Correira. It was at UFC 39. Cabbage took Sylvia best shots for one round and then part of the second round. Like seriously this guy was just standing there taking every shot Sylvia gave him. He barely fought back. Eventually in the second round of action his corner threw in the towel giving Sylvia his first UFC win.
If you can find this fight somewhere I would suggest you watch it. You wouldn't believe the amount of blows this guy takes. The sick thing is he never got knocked down. He just kept going. His corner did the merciful thing and threw in the towel. It was crazy. I am honestly surprised it was not on the UFC Ultimate 100, the 100 greatest fights in UFC History. Like I said watch it and you'll be shocked.

Shawn Michaels: The Showstopper, the Main Event, the Icon is back
This past Monday four months of non-interest in wrestling finally came to an end. Shawn Michaels who has not been on TV since Wrestlemania 25 had a unique but funny way of returning. Triple H found Shawn working as a chef at some restaurant at San Antonio. So you can only imagine how that turned out. The return of Shawn Michaels is going to be awesome. It's ironic he's making his return at Summerslam because that's where he returned seven years ago to resurrect his career after being gone for four years. In my humble opinion he has been better the last seven years then he was his first time around. Shawn Michaels has done it all in this business. He is a 2 AWA World Tag Team Champion
3 time WWE Champion
WWE European Champion
4 time WWE World Tag Team Champion
World Heavyweight Championship
Royal Rumble Winner in 1995 and 1996
PWI Match of the Year (1993) vs. Marty Jannetty on Monday Night Raw on May 17
PWI Match of the Year (1994) vs. Razor Ramon in a Ladder match at WrestleMania X
PWI Match of the Year (1995) vs. Diesel at WrestleMania XI
PWI Match of the Year (1996) vs. Bret Hart in an Iron Man match at WrestleMania XII
PWI Match of the Year (2004) vs. Chris Benoit and Triple H at WrestleMania XX
PWI Match of the Year (2005) vs. Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 21
PWI Match of the Year (2006) vs. Vince McMahon in a No Holds Barred match at WrestleMania 22
PWI Match of the Year (2007) vs. John Cena on Raw on April 23
PWI Match of the Year (2008) vs. Ric Flair at WrestleMania XXIV
The list could go on and on of what Shawn Michaels has accomplished. There is no doubt in my mind that his match with The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 25 will be match of the year for 2009. The one thing I like about Shawn is he always makes everyone look better even a guy like Hogan. I never saw a better Hogan match then the one he had with Shawn at Summerslam in 2005. I just don't respect what Shawn does in the ring. I also respect him outside of the ring as well. He is a born-again Christian who brings his faith with him wherever he goes. At Summerslam he and Triple reunite to face Legacy the team of Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase. In my opinion this match will put Ted Dibiase and Cody Rhodes on the map. Ten years from now wrestling fans people aren't going to remember how they won the Tag Titles, or the fact they were associated with Randy Orton. People will remember the night that DX fought Legacy for the first time because matches that Shawn Michaels is involved with. Just look at all of the matches of his that have been named Match of the Year. Shawn Michaels has been in the ring with the best and has made even the best look better. Even Ric Flair has said it, the best matches he ever saw were the ones with Shawn vs. Triple H. There is a reason Shawn has been in the first Hell in the Cell, Elimination Chamber and the first Ladder match at Wrestlemania. It's because he sets the standard and he is the standard of what wrestling should be all about. I personally cannot wait to see him wrestle again. He's had more memorable matches then anyone I can remember. So at Summerslam the man known as the Heartbreak Kid returns and if you're not down with that I got two words for you...Watch it!

Silva and Penn rise to the occasion at UFC 101
Last night at UFC 101 the two upsets that everyone thought would happen didn't. Anderson Silva completely embarrassed Forrest Griffin. I am very disappointed in Forrest Griffins performance during this fight. He should have went in guns blazing but he left himself wide open for Silva to strike.
Then in the Main Event BJ Penn owned Kenny Florian. Penn had an answer for all of Florian's moves. Unfortunately Florian got choked out ending his 6 match win streak. Speaking of win streaks. Anderson Silva is up to 10 wins in a row in the UFC, a streak that might never be broken. It's ironic the title of this PPV was called Declaration because Penn and Silva made their declarations letting everyone know that they are the best in their division.
I will be very curious to see how Forrest and Kenny rebound from their losses. I know we haven't seen the last of either him. I think Forrest needs to fight Tito Ortiz again, or even his mentor Chuck Liddell. Both of those matches would be great. Kenny just needs to go back and refocus himself and not get so cocky because he did talk a lot of trash before the fight. The one thing I will say is that Diego Sanchez deserves to be in contention for the Lightweight title. I think Penn vs. Sanchez would be a great fight. Well UFC 102 is three weeks away and it's the battle of the dinosaurs. I'll leave it at that.

Biggest Brawl in Wrestling History Takes Place
Just when wrestling is no longer interesting to me TNA does something worth watching. I was flipping through channels last night and I see a brawl beginning between the Main Event Mafia/World Elite against the rest of the TNA locker room. The brawl last 15 minutes and the police eventually came and broke it up. You don't see too much of this type of stuff anymore in wrestling. It's the first real brawl I remember since 2001 when WWE had the Invasion storyline going on with ECW/WCW and since the WCW/NWO days. I will this about TNA Wrestling, they are creating new stars and pushing younger talent. WWE is having a hard time right now getting younger guys to the status they should be at. Here is the video of the brawl that took place last night on TNA Wrestling.

Message to Michael Crabtree: Don't be stupid
Michael Crabtree might just ruin his reputation by making a stupid decision. He is considering sitting out the 2009 season and re-entering the draft in 2010 all because he's not getting the money he wants. His complaint is that lower draft picks are getting offered more money then he is. You know what I say...So what? Just be thankful you got drafted. The NFL needs to implement a couple of rules so here is my concept.
1. A rookie should not be allowed to make more then say like 5 million his first year. A rookie should only be given a one year contract then be able to renegotiate the contract after the first year. Sometimes college players are busts and then then teams are forced to pay all that money.
2. A rookie should not be able to dictate where he is drafted aka Eli Manning. If he refuses to play for the team that drafts him then he should not be allowed to play in the league for a year.
Athletes are so spoiled and they are a bunch of crybabies and Crabtree might just be one of the worst ones right now. Playing professional sports is not a right, it is a privilege just ask Vick, Burress, and Stallworth. Michael Crabtree should be grateful that he is playing for a storied franchise like the 49ers. They are in a rebuilding phase and he has the chance to be apart of something really awesome. I believe if Crabtree sits out this season and tries to re-enter the draft in 2010 his stock will go down because he will not be playing anywhere. His reputation will be horrible because people think he is greedy and selfish and all about himself. Not a good thing. This guy sounds like he could be worst then T.O., Moss, or Chad Johnson...My bad his name is Ochocinco. They are all great athletes but in terms of personality they are pathetic.
Lastly, if I was the 49ers I wouldn't give him the money he wants now because he has missed a lot of training camp. If I were any other NFL team I would make him beg to want to be in the NFL. See Tebow and Bradford did the smart thing. They kept their mouth shut, went back to college and avoided being drafted by the Detroit Lions. Maybe Crabtree should have thought about his decision to go pro a little bit more. Michael Crabtree you have already lost my respect and you haven't even played a game yet. Their are people starving, losing their jobs and don't have a pot to piss in and you're worried about how much more money you're going to make then people the got drafted below you. It's absolutely pathetic...Enough said.

Vince Young puts his foot in his mouth
As an athlete there is nothing wrong with have a little bit of confidence. In fact if you didn't have confidence at all then you probably shouldn't be playing at all. However there is a difference between having confidence and saying something really stupid. In this case Vince Young said something really stupid. He told Esquire Magazine that he would be the next black Quarterback to win the Super Bowl and that he would be in the Hall of Fame someday. Here are some problems with that.
1. You haven't played at all since the first game of last season
2. You have more interceptions then you do touchdown passes.
3. Your QB rating is not even 70.
4. Kerry Collins took over and played better then you ever thought about playing
5. You have had more injuries then you have had playing time.
So what does this all mean? Vince Young has about as much chance as making the Hall of Fame as Michael Vick. Obviously for different reasons but you get what I am saying. How could someone make such a stupid comment. If he does comeback people are going to be gunning for him and shut him up for his stupid comments. What I find funny about all of this is he is not even the starting Quarterback. As of right now, Kerry Collins is still the starting Quarterback and probably will remain there until he retires or gets hurt. All I can say after all this is good Vince, you're going to need it.

Prince Fielder Goes Nuts
Last night I think I saw a first in baseball. A player trying to break into the opposing teams locker room to confront a pitcher who beaned him. The Dodgers were beating the Brewers 17-4 when Prince Fielder got hit by a pitch. The sad thing about this is it was the ninth inning with two outs and it was payback for the accidental beaning of Manny Ramirez in the seventh inning. Now I don't agree with this whole if you hit our guy were going to hit yours. That's when the fights break out and stuff like this happens. I honestly don't blame Prince for being pissed off. It was ninth inning with two outs. The game should have been over. I would suspend Moto for 10 games and Fielder for 3. I think Fielders reaction was totally understandable but if anything I would have punched him out on the field where that stuff usually takes place. The Brewers and Dodgers play each other again tonight and it's the last time they play each other this season so it should be interesting. Here is the video of what happened last night after the game concluded. Enjoy

Steroids in Baseball...When will it end?
It all started with one man Jose Canseco, and one book "Juiced: Wild Times, Rampant 'Roids, Smash Hits & How Baseball Got Big." The book came out in 2005 and since then their has been a lot turmoil. Since then the Mitchell Report came out, baseball implemented suspensions for anyone who tested positive and there's a mysterious list from 2003 with all the names that tested positive for performing enhancing drugs.
Lets break this down starting with who Canseco named in his book. The names included Mark McGwire, Rafael Palmeiro, Jason Giambi, Iván RodrÃguez and Juan González. Palmeiro was found guilty, Giambi admitted and McGwire is in denial. People he named in his second book include Jason Grimsley. Alex Rodriguez, and Albert Belle. We know how the A-Rod thing turned out. He admitted to using in 2003 while he was with Texas. Is Canseco the only credible source? No the government also released the Mitchell Report.
Here are just some of the names that were in the Mitchell Report. The names include Barry Bonds, Garry Sheffield, Roger Clemens, Andy Pettite, Miguel Tejada, Troy Glaus and many others. The report names 89 MLB players. So out of these players Barry Bonds can't be found guilty because his trainer Greg Anderson won't testify. Sheffield use to live with Bonds so he is in the mix of controversy. Andy Pettite admitted to using and Roger Clemens is in denial as well. Then again Roger has other issues to deal with as well.
Then their is New York Times who has a list of over 100 players who tested positive in 2003. Their have only been 8 names released that include Sammy Sosa and the most recent Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz. If you remember 2003 was the year the Red Sox won their first World series in 87 years, so should it be tainted? No. Sammy Sosa hit 50 or more home runs four years in a row and has a total of 609 home runs. Should that have an Astrix by it? No. Barry Bonds who holds most home runs all time and in a single season. Should it be stricken from the record books? No.
At first when all these steroid allegations came out baseball had no policy, no consequences, and no enforcement of any kind. If you think about the steroid era lasted about 15-20 years because things started getting cleaned up in 2005 and experts say it started in 1990. It's obvious certain guys took steroid. McGwire, Sosa and Bonds are obvious ones. Look how small they were when they first started playing. Then look how huge they got over the years. Getting that big doesn't happen naturally so it's obvious. To me it's an era that started because no one cared. It also happened because when baseball went on strike in the mid 90's they needed something to happen to get baseball in the mainstream again. So in 1998 you had McGwire and Sosa break Maris' record. No one suspected anything because it was great for baseball, and it got people back into baseball. In 2001, after 9/11 happened Barry Bonds put an entire country on his back chasing McGwires record. No one said anything because it helped the country, it helped baseball.
What I am starting figure out is that the only people who care about this, are the people in the media and the government because thats what this country does. They focus on the negative and not the positive. I agree with the fact that steroids should be out of sports but I don't agree with condemning players like Clemens, Sosa, McGwire, and even Bonds. They all played in the same era. Let them be in the Hall of Fame. Like I said it baseballs fault for not having a policy until 2005 so how can it be cheating if their is no policy or no rules regarding the matter.
The one thing that bothers me is that the New York Times gets all these names illegally because according to the players union the names are a part of court sealed documents that are confidential. So how does the Times get these names? Simple the lawyers who are involved with baseball and the investigations with baseball. White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen is right. They just need to release all the names from the 2003 doping list and get it over with. I personally think the lawyers who have the names are getting paid a lot of money to release one name at a time. They think they are going to systematically destroy baseball but what they need to understand is that the fans of the game don't care. They will continue to buy tickets to watch their teams and favorite players.
The one thing that surprises me the most is that the lawyers who release these names to the NY Times and Jose Canseco aren't dead. Why do I say that? Because these guys make a lot of money and they wanted to they could put a hit out on these guys for trying to destroy their names, legacies, reputations and prevent them from making a living. Guys like Clemens, Sosa, Bonds and McGwire have had their names and legacies tarnished. Guys like Ortiz, Rodriguez, and Manny are well on their way to the same fate especially Manny who was suspended this year for testing positive. I am serious when I saw I am surprised Canseco is still alive.
It's pretty sad that one guy, who is a complete idiot and psychopath has that much credibility. All he was trying to do was get even with baseball and make as much money as possible. Guess what? He accomplished both and the media and government couldn't leave well enough alone. I would like to end by saying that I am glad that sports are cleaning up and being played fair and on equal ground. However those who took steroids before the any policies were implemented should not be punished and not keep them out of any Hall of Fames. It is each leagues fault for not implementing policies when policies should have been put in place long ago. I hope these reports, and these names who are supposedly on a list end soon because I for one am sick of hearing about it. Let these athletes play and quit trying to hold their past against them. The steroid era is dead but it won't be officially dead until the media shuts up about it. When will that happen? Hopefully sooner then later.

MLB Trade Deadline Ends.
Today the MLB trade deadline ended at 4pm and some interesting moves happen. Lets review the most notable trades that have happened over the last couple of weeks.
-The Atlanta Braves got West Michigan native Nate McClouth from the Pirates
-The St. Louis Cardinals got Mark Derosa from the Indians
-The Mets got Jeff Francoeur from the Braves
-The St. Louis Cardinals got Julio Lugo from the Red Sox
-The St. Louis Cardinals got Matt Holliday from the A's
-The Seattle Mariners got SS Jack Wilson and RHP Ian Snell from the Pirates
-The Philadelphia Phillies got LHP Cliff Lee and OF Ben Francisco from the Indians
-The Los Angeles Dodgers got LHP George Sherrill from the Orioles
-The Detroit Tigers got LHP Jarrod Washburn from the Mariners
-The Minnesota Twins got SS Orlando Cabrera from the A's
-The Chicago White Sox got RHP Jake Peavy from the Padres
-The Boston Red Sox got C-1B Victor Martinez from the Indians
The biggest winner of all these moves are the St. Louis Cardinals. They got some great pieces around Albert Pujols now and they will be a serious contender. The biggest loser of these moves are the Cleveland Indians. They got rid of all their good players with the exception of Grady Sizemore and Travis Hafner. The Indians are in rough shape right now. The biggest shocker is Jake Peavy going to the White Sox especially considering not knowing when he'll pitch again. With season over half way done my World Series prediction is set. I think the World Series will be the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. the New York Yankees. If it happens it could be a series for the ages. Stay tuned for the next two months to find out what happens.

Fedor not going to UFC, Tito Returns
Well Fedor turned down a UFC contract citing he didn't like what the UFC offered him. Unfortunately for all the Lesnar haters they won't get the chance to see the match everyone wants to see, atleast for now. The Russian is 36-1-1 and is said to be the favorite if a match with Lesnar happened. Fedor currently fights for Affliction but also fights for other promotions as well. If he signed with UFC he could only fight for the UFC and no other promotion. For the time being we will have to see who might be able to stop Brock Lesnar.
In other news, it is official. Tito Ortiz is now back with the UFC after burying the hatchet with Dana White. It is rumored he will fight in November or December against Mark Coleman. It's good to see Ortiz back. And finally at UFC 103 it will be Vitor Belfort vs. Rich Franklin at UFC 103. It's good to see the UFC prospering and making money. I can definitely say that the UFC is becoming bigger and bigger each day. More people are getting into MMA as fans. It's probably the largest growing sport in terms of fan base right now. I am looking forward to UFC 101 and some of the other fights coming up in the second half of this year.

Favre stays retired, and Vick gets reinstated
Finally Brett Favre made a great decision regarding his future and thats staying retired. He should have not come out of retirement last year.because he ruined his legacy to a certain degree. He spent sixteen years with the Packers and he should have retired as a Packer, not a Jet or anything else. Just like Jordan should have retired a Bull and not a Wizard.
So anyone who made a bet that Favre would play before Vick pay up because Favre decided to be smart for once. As far as Michael Vick goes I believe in forgiveness and second chances. People need to see if he's changed or not before they make their decision on him. Like Jesus said, "He who is without sin cast the first stone." People make mistakes, and make bad choices. I am not excusing his behavior and what he did but he has apologized for what he has done. We all have made mistakes and we all must own up to them and do the time if necessary. There is no doubt that whatever team signs him is taking a huge risk but in this day in age where sports mean everything. If he racks up wins for a team no one is going to care especially if he went to a Super Bowl.
Right now that's all the football news. Nothing else really going on in the NFL except training camp is opening up pretty soon. I'll be back if Favre changes his mind or Vick gets signed.

Fedor signs with UFC
It is being reported that Dana White will announce Friday that Fedor Emelianenko will sign with the UFC and when he does he will fight Brock Lesnar in his first fight. People have been talking about this possible fight for awhile now. The Lesnar haters would love nothing more then to see Brock get beat by someone the MMA fans love.
Just one problem, this is Brock Lesnar we are talking about. Fedor will more then likely underestimate him like Couture, and Mir did. However Fedor has beaten some of the best including Andrei Arlovski, Tim Sylvia, Mark Coleman, Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira, Kevin Randleman and even one of Lesnars opponents Heath Herring. Fedor only has one lost and apparently it was a fluke when it happen.
But here is the tape of the tape
Fedor
Height 6 ft 0 in (1.83 m)
Weight 231 lb (105 kg)
Reach 74 in (190 cm)
Brock
Height 6 ft 2 in (1.88 m)
Weight 265 lb (120 kg)
Reach 81 in (210 cm)
If you look at size Lesnar has got him, but if it goes to the ground Fedor will more then likely make him tap out. Here again is another problem how are you going to get Brock Lesnar to the ground. No one and I mean no one really has been able to yet except the first for his fight with Frank Mir which a lot of people thought was a fluke as well.
So when? where? and who will come out on top? All these questions and soon we will find out the answers. Welcome to the UFC Fedor. I hope you and Brock have the fight of the century.

Night of Champions Recap
Well Night of Champions has come and gone and I was somewhat surprised by a few things. Jeff Hardy is the new World Heavyweight Champion which is cool. Hardy and Punk are having some great matches right now and I hope they will continue. The surprise match of the night was Dolph Ziggler taking on IC Champ Rey Mysterio. Ziggler proved he could hang tonight against the best. I was also enjoyed the Unified Tag Title match between Legacy and Chris Jericho/Big Show. Yes Big Show is Jericho's new tag team partner. My favorite part of the night was watching Christian winning back the ECW Championship. Christian is a great wrestler and has been better in WWE his second time around. I think when the time is right he and Edge need to reunite again. WWE needs more legitimate tag teams. The triple match between Cena/HHH/Orton absolutely sucked. Same old crap, different day. Legacy interferes as always and helps Orton. It's so damn repetitive it's ridiculous. If I wanted to watch repeats of bad wrestling I'd watch MTV's Wrestling Society X, which was the worst wrestling show of all time....Yes I mean of all time.
Right now WWE does not interest me because it's to predictable and repetitive. However that all might change. It is rumored the showstopper, Shawn Michaels might be returning soon for Summerslam. If thats the case I will be happy because as most of you know Shawn Michaels is my favorite wrestler of all time...You read this right. Hogan was my hero growing up but Michaels in ring work plus his faith outside of wrestling is why he has become my favorite.
So on a scale out of 1 to 10 I would rate Night of Champion a 6.5/10. It was decent but not great. I hope Summerslam will put all of these PPV's to shame. There really hasn't been a good one yet this year. The biggest party of the year is coming soon. Stay tuned

Mark Buehrle throws a perfect game
Well finally have something to write about again. It's been a week but thanks Mark Buehrle I have something to write about. He threw a no hitter yesterday against a very dangerous Tampa Bay Rays lineup. As you may remember He through a no hitter in April of 2007 against Texas. However in that game he walked one batter who happened to be Sammy Sosa. This game had no walks, no hits, no errors...Nothing. Mark Buehrle put himself in a class of pitchers thats few, far and between. He threw 116 pitches, 76 were strikes and had six strikeouts. What was most impressive is the catch made by Wise in Center field in the 9th inning saving the perfect game for Buehrle.
Buehrle is done it all in his career. He's had a perfect game, no hitter, hit a home run, pitched in the All Star Game and won a World Series. He could very well be on his way to the Hall of Fame someday. The crazy thing about it, is he is only 30 years old and still has quite a few years left to pitch. Right now Buehrle and the White Sox look like the team to beat in the AL Central. With that being said congratulations to Mark Buehrle on throwing a perfect game and putting yourself in baseball history.

Tito Ortiz returning to UFC? and more
According to Dana White's Twitter page, he and Tito Ortiz made up and buried the hatchet so to speak. So could this mean a return to the UFC. Ortiz also confirmed that he and Dana White buried the hatchet. The last time we saw Ortiz in the UFC was May 24th 2008.
He's had classic battles with Ken Shamrock, Forrest Griffin, Chuck Liddell, and Wanderlei Silva. I have always liked Tito Ortiz, and it would be nice to see Jenna Jameson back in the crowd again. It is now rumored that Ortiz will make is return at UFC 103 in September to fight Rich Franklin. Speaking of UFC 103 and 104 Here are some notable match ups for both pay-per-views.
Welterweight bout: Josh Koscheck vs. Frank Trigg (UFC 103)
Light Heavyweight Championship bout: Lyoto Machida (c) vs. Mauricio Rua (UFC 104)
Heavyweight bout: Shane Carwin vs. Cain Velasquez (UFC 104)
Ortiz returning would be huge because he has a following and a huge fan base. I always enjoyed watching him kick the crap out of Ken Shamrock. The Huntington Beach Bad Boy could be back and he might just be better then ever. Can Ortiz return to his former glory? We will have to wait and see.

UFC Magazine Debuts
So I was in a store the other day and I came across the debut issue of UFC Magazine. I must say I am very impressed with how it was done. The editing was fantastic. I liked all the feature stories on some of the fighters and some of behind the scenes things they showed. They had a lot of pictures of the backstage during big events. It was fitting that Dana White was on the cover. He made all of it possible. I know if I had an organization I would want him working for me. The UFC is doing a lot of great things right now. UFC Undisputed for XBox 360 and PS3 is a phenomenal game that tops a lot of other sports and fighting games. I also saw UFC sports cards awhile back. UFC is hitting the mainstream and people are starting to gravitate towards what they are doing. This magazine is a prime example of how popular the UFC is becoming. Great job to all the writers, photographers, and editors who are apart of the magazine. I am actually thinking about becoming a subscriber.

Thoughts on Sports Today
Well I don't have one particular topic I want to talk about today so I will talk about a few different things going on in sports today. A lot to talk about.
First what the heck is Jeremy Mayfield thinking? I think this might be a first. A NASCAR driver testing positive for drugs. Way to make your mark in history. Since when would a NASCAR driver need drugs, steroids or anything other junk like that. I just think that it is ridiculous. He will probably never race again.
In basketball, Lamar Odom would not accept the Lakers 3 year offer of 9 million a year. He was making 14 million last year and I don't think he would play hard if he had to take that big a pay cut. Also, Allen Iverson sounds close to signing a deal with the Clippers. Not sure how that one would work out but you never know. There are still a few free agents out there that have not been signed.
Pedro is back!!! Yes Pedro Martinez signed with the Phillies yesterday and should be pitching within two weeks hopefully. Hopefully he can pitch like he use to. Also the Phillies have been in talks about getting Roy Halladay from the Blue Jays. That would be hard to stop them.
And then you have Brett Favre...the guy who can't make up his mind if he wants to retire or not. He said he will give his answer on the Vikings July 30th. Keep us in suspense why don't you? I am not sure how I feel about him anymore because he is ruining his legacy.
Well those are my ramblings for the day. Not much else on my brain. I am sure I'll have more this weekend. Have a great day and enjoy the weather wherever you are at.

Kimbo Slice on the Ultmate Fighter
Well the unthinkable has happened, and that is Kimbo Slice getting a shot at the UFC. He will a participant on the 10th Ultimate Fighter in the heavyweight division. Kimbo is well known for his street fighting past but he isn't a disciplined fighter. At least not yet he is. He is going to be very dangerous on this show and I will be curious to see how he handles living in the house and training with others.
To make the show even more interesting the two coaches are Rashad Evans and Quinton Jackson. You know what that means? They will eventually fight each other when the show is over. I love it because they can't stand each other and there is a lot of personal animosity there. Rampage even declined a title shot against Machida to fight Evans. Usually the best fights are when the two guys across from each other can't stand each other. I am looking forward to this season of the Ultimate Fighter because it might be the most out of control and chaotic that there has ever been. What the hell is Dana White going to do when he sees the destruction that Kimbo Slice probably does to all of his opponents? I cannot wait to find out.

All Star Festivities Recap
So the last two days have been fun to watch. I always love the MLB All Star Game because to me it means something. It's way better then any of the other All Star Games in sports. Monday was the Home Run Derby and this year it wasn't as great but it was nice to see Prince Fielder pound a ball 503 feet. He's got his dad looks, his dads demeanor and his dad's power. It was great to see him win but what wasn't so great was seeing Brandon Inge hit no home runs. Oh well he was nice enough to represent the Tigers and enjoy his time as a first time All Star.
Then last night was the 80th All Star game in St. Louis. President Obama threw out the first pitch wearing a White Sox jacket. Nice job buddy, way to play to the St. Louis crowd. Anyways they had some nice tributes to local programs around the country from each state. I like how they highlight real life heroes as well as the baseball players who go out and serve their communities.
The game was very defensive and there really wasn't a lot of big hits. The two biggest hits of the night in my opinion was Prince Fielders double and Curtis Granderson's triple which led to him scoring the game winning run for the American League. It was nice to see Inge at bat, and Jackson pitched a nice inning. I will say this Carl Crawford's catch was amazing and it probably saved the game for the American League. The funniest sight I saw at the All Star Game was when they showed Mariano Rivera sitting with Tim Wakefield in the bullpen. I was always like talking about the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry because it's one of the best in sports.
The American League now has home field advantage in the World Series and hopefully it will be Detroit representing the American League in the World Series and we will see more triples from Curtis Granderson. It was a really fun game to watch and for the 13th year in a row the National League fails to win. That's a bad losing streak for sure. Well on to the second half of the season which who knows what will happen. I am saying right now that the Dodgers will be in the World Series. As far as the American League goes, I am not so sure. I hope it will be Detroit. Only time will tell.

Hollywood's Rejects Players of the Week
Another week, another loss but I've grown use to that in Fantasy Baseball.
Hollywood's Rejects (HWOO)(2-12) 193.5
GR Mannys (GRM) (6-8) 234
Troy Tulowitzki and Russell Martin were my best two hitters and Edwin Jackson and Joe Blanton were my best two pitchers. No one is playing until Friday due to the All Star Festivities so it should be an interesting Friday through Sunday. On that note, I am not going to talk about fantasy baseball until next week.

Brock Lesnar dominattes at UFC 100, and more
For every one person who likes him, their are 100 people that probably hate him. The fact of the matter is that Brock Lesnar proved that his first UFC fight which was a loss to Frank Mir was a fluke. A lot of people accuse me of not being a UFC fan until Lesnar arrived. That could not be further from the truth. The very first UFC fight I ever watched was between Dan Severn and Ken Shamrock from the mid 90's. I really didn't know much about it. I began hearing about fighters like Chuck Liddell, Randy Couture, Tim Sylvia and others. It wasn't until the first Ultimate Fighter that I got interested. Forrest Griffin and Stephen Bonner got me interested with the incredible fight they had.
Now back to UFC 100 and how Lesnar acted. I thought his actions were very unprofessional but it got the UFC some attention. Any press is good press and I think Dana White realizes that. That heel mentality of Brock when he was in WWE is still in him and people want to see Brock Lesnar get beat. Will it happen? I don't know. Frank Mir did talk a lot of trash over the last year so I guess what Brock did to him only seemed fair.
In other fights, GSP dominated Thiago Alves, and Dan Henderson killed Michael Bisping. The biggest shock of the night for me was preliminary fight. UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman defeated Stephen Bonner by decision. That's crazy.
I would also like to congratulate Chuck Liddell and the late Charles "Mask" Lewis for being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. Both are very well deserving.
There are still some great fights to be had in in 2009. UFC 101 will feature BJ Penn vs. Kenny Florian and Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin. At UFC 102 it will be Randy Couture vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Keith Jardine vs. Thiago Silva. Much more to come from the UFC this year. Finally I end the question on everyone's mind. Who is going to stop "The Next Big Thing" Brock Lesnar?

Lebron James is no King
You know I am so sick of hearing about Lebron James. This last week has been a busy week in sports like the NBA free agency, the MLB All Star Game festivities, the death of Steve McNair and all I keep hearing about is how Lebron James got dunked on by some college kid name Jordan Crawford from Xavier. Apparently their is a video from this dunk and Lebron and Nike have this video and won't release. Apparently Crawford was wearing James' Nike brand shoes when this dunk happen. By hiding this video it makes Crawford look amazing and James a schmuck.
This is not the first time Lebron James has been a poor sport about something. He refused to shake hands with the Orlando Magic after the Cavs lost in the Eastern Conference finals. He also refused to talk to the press afterward. He is suppose to be the leader and the face of basketball? I don't think so. Face it Lebron, you will always be in the shadow of MJ and Kobe. I've never like Lebron and these actions further my disliking for him. He's a poor sport who doesn't know how to lose graciously.
Finally, I will say this. Lebron and Nike better release this video before the NBA season begins because I can guarantee this. It will plague and haunt him wherever he goes. That's the only thing that will be on the media's mind. And Jordan Crawford I cannot wait to see you in the NBA so you can dunk on him again. Until then we will have to wait and see if this video emerges. Only time will tell.

Brandon Inge is an All Star
I never thought I'd say the words that Brandon Inge is now an All Star. Over 11 million votes came in for him for the final spot in the All Star Game. Brandon is longest tenured Tiger and is somewhat the mainstay in Detroit. There are a lot of Tigers but when it's said and done Inge will go down as one of the better players that the city of Detroit has seen. If Brandon Inge stays a Tiger for the rest of his career then he will mean as much to the city as Stevie Y did to the Red Wings. You don't see athletes stay with one team anymore but I have a gut feeling that Inge will. He's turning into one of the premier players in the league. His offensive numbers could be better but as a defender he is the best in baseball. That's right I said it, the best. Not A-Rod, not Michael Young but Brandon Inge.
So on July 14th four Tigers will take the field. Verlander, Jackson, Granderson and now Inge will represent the Motor City. I for one will be watching intently to see what happens. Congratulations to Brandon and everyone else who made the All Star team this year.

Hollywood's Rejects Players of the Week
Annihilated, that's the word you could use to describe the beating I got in baseball again this week. Heres the score.
Hollywood's Rejects (HWOO)(2-11) 236.5
Busky's Bombers (BUSK)(12-1) 449
My best two pitchers were Jason Marquis and Joe Blanton. My best two hitters were Cody Ross and Mike Cameron. I lost to the first place guy so there is no shame in that. I am hoping I can win this week, but I never get my hopes up.

Another crazy NASCAR finish
A lot happening sports this weekend but the craziest thing that's happened is watching the finish of the Daytona night race last night. That was crazy. This is the second time this year a restrictor plate race has finished in crazy fashion. Here is the video that saw Tony Stewart win the race.
It's been an interesting years in NASCAR. I look forward to the fall race in Talladega. Daytona, Talladega and Bristol are really the only three races that interest me to any extent. However what I saw last night makes NASCAR exciting. They should have more races like this more often. Hopefully they will.

RIP Steve McNair
It is with great sadness that I have to write about the passing of former NFL Quarterback Steve McNair. McNair was found dead this morning after a fatal gunshot wound claimed his life. McNair was drafted in 1995 by the Houston Oilers who eventually became the Tennessee Titans. He was a Pro Bowl selection (2000, 2003, 2005), All-Pro selection (2003), 2003 Co-AP NFL MVP, and1994 Walter Payton Award. His career stats were:
TD-INT 174-119
Yards 31,304
QB Rating 82.8
Steve McNair is one of best Quarterbacks to never win a Super Bowl. However he did lead the Titans to the Super Bowl in 2000 for the 1999 season. They only lost by seven and it was one of the best Super Bowl games in recent memory. Steve McNair is regarded as one of the toughest Quarterbacks to play the game. He was loved and respected by anyone who played the game. This is truly a horrible loss for football and I am sure that the affect of his death will be felt throughout the NFL and the sports world. Steve McNair, God Bless and Rest in Peace.

John Cena: Seven Years Later
This past weekend marked the seven year anniversary of John Cena debuting in the WWE. I remember he came out and gave Kurt Angle a run for his money impressing a lot of people as well. His first few months he made an impact but it wasn't until October of 2002 that we say the break out of John Cena.
John Cena turned heel and began to wear baggy jeans, chains, throwback jerseys and hats. He also began to rap, and poke fun of superstars such as the Undertaker, Brock Lesnar and Rikishi. He taunted Brock Lesnar so bad he called his finishing move the F-U instead of Lesnars move called the F-5. It was in November of 2003 where he became a fan favorite again. One of his biggest moments was Wrestlemania 21 when he became United States Champion by defeating the Big Show. John Cena had a remarkable year in 2004. This was also the year he filmed the Marine which began the rise of John Cena. In 2005, he went to Wrestlemania 21 to win the WWE Championship from JBL. He feuded with Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle after being drafted to Raw. John Cena held the title for nine long months until New Years Revolution of 2006.
At New Years Revolution 2006, Edge cashed in Money in the Bank to defeat John Cena thus starting one of the biggest feuds in the history of the WWE. He also defeated Triple H at Wrestlemania 22. However John Cena defied the odds in 2006. He went into a hostile crowd at ECW's One Night Stand, he defeated Edge in a TLC match and he seemed to be on a roll. John Cena held the WWE Championship for a year until he suffered an injury in September of 2007. He miraculously returned to the WWE at the 2008 Royal Rumble as the last superstar the entered. He won and went on to have a pretty quiet year in the WWE. At Summerslam he fought Batista in which he suffered a severe neck injury that should have kept him out for a year. However at Survivor Series he returned to defeat Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Championship. He regained the World Title back at Wrestlemania 25 before losing it to Edge a month later.
For all of John Cena's critic, I being one of them at times, I will say this. John Cena has so much passion for pro wrestling it's ridiculous. A lot of people claimed that they were going to be bigger then Hulk Hogan like for example The Rock but John Cena is getting closer and closer all the time. People know who John Cena is. Think about this. He has appeared Jimmy Kimmel multiple times, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Fox Sports Net's The Best Damn Sports Show Period, MADtv, MTV's Punk'd, 2005 Teen Choice Awards, Nashville Star, 2007 Nickelodeon UK Kids Choice Awards.
Cena has also been featured on Fast Cars and Superstars: The Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race, Subway commercials, Gilette's shaving products, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and Deal or No Deal. I hate to say it but John Cena might just be bigger then Hulk Hogan. Cena also came out with a Rap Album and has been featured in two movies that sold well on DVD. There is no slowing down John Cena. He is only 32 years old and has a lot of years ahead of him.
So at the end of the day, will John Cena be bigger then Hulk Hogan? Or will Cena fall short of the bar Hogan set? My money is on Cena because he revolutionized pro wrestling much like Hulk did in the 80's. Only time will tell.

Pistons Fire Curry...Who is next?
Yesterday the Pistons made a smart decision. They fired that moron of a head coach Michael Curry who should have never been hired to begin with. This past year was one of the hardest seasons to watch. We traded Billups for a washed up Allen Iverson and barely just made the playoffs. We made a horrible pick in the draft but finally Joe Dumars, the smart guy he is finally pulled his head out of his butt and made a smart decision. One has to wonder who might be next in line for the Detroit Pistons head coaching job. Well here are the names I am hearing.
Doug Collins who is a former Pistons head coach, who some say can't get a long with any team he coaches. He says hes changed his way but who knows. I personally think he needs to stay put at TNT
Bill Laimbeer is the least likely choice for the job but you never know. Joe D might stick with someone he knows. Just don't bring Isiah in. Laimbeer is a proven winner in the WNBA but can he handle the ego's of the NBA? I think he could because he had one himself.
The last but not certainly not least my favorite of the bunch is Avery Johnson. He never should have been fired from Dallas to begin with. So what if he lost in the first round to the Warriors a few years ago. Everyone's get upset once in a while.
If I had my choice I would go with Avery Johnson because I think he's got a spark that the Pistons need right now. I also hope Joe Dumars looks heavily into the Free Agent market because we need some new pieces and we need to get back to where we were a few years ago. I am really interested in seeing what happens with Pistons. Stay tuned.
