CM Punk Returns to WWE and More

CM Punk has been the center of conversation as of late around the wrestling world and all over the place. He's definitely made an impact in the last month that no one has seen in quite sometime. Last night began with Rey Mysterio vs. The Miz for the WWE Championship. Mysterio won but that wouldn't be the last time we saw him. Triple H came out halfway through Raw and announced Rey Mysterio vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship later on that night. Triple H also brought back Jim Ross, and John Morrison returned as well.

John Cena recaptured the WWE Championship by beating Mysterio but Cena's victory was short lived because of the returning CM Punk. Punk returned to the WWE last night and said he was back. He came out with new music, a new shirt and it seemed to be a lot of fanfare for him.

I've noticed that a lot of fans who appreciate in ring ability and the old school ways of wrestling are fans of CM Punk. If you think about it though, CM Punk is a good role model to an extent. He doesn't drink, smoke, or do drugs. Even though that got portrayed awhile back as having a holier then thou attitude he did make a name for himself by being straightedge. No one really knows the details of what has really gone on with him but enough from me, here is what happened last night:

NBA Players to Europe?

With the NFL lockout finally coming to and end, much of the media attention will focus on the current NBA lockout. As you know a deal is far away from being done but the players are already talking. The first player to step up and talk was Deron Williams who did in fact say that he will go to Europe and play if their is no NBA season this coming fall.

The biggest thing I heard was that Kobe Bryant is is negotiations with a Turkish basketball team. If Kobe went to a foreign team that would kill the NBA's reputation. He is the NBA's biggest star but according to sources, he is the most recognized star in China after Yao Ming. I honestly think if Kobe went, a lot of others would follow including ones who probably said they wouldn't go at first.

I feel that same way I do about this lockout that I did about the NFL lockout. Why do athletes and owners have to be so greedy? The average American struggle just stay afloat and it's these same Americans that pay money to watch you play. The biggest difference between the NBA and NFL is the NBA has less of a timeline to get a deal done that the NFL did.

I honestly think at this point we will not see an NBA season and that you will see Deron Williams, Dwight Howard, Kobe Bryant and others will be playing in Europe. If this happens, the NBA could be in serious jeopardy as a whole. Only time will to see if a deal gets done and we see basketball this fall.

CM Punk Leaves WWE as WWE Champion at M.I.T.B.

Whether it's shoot, a work, fake, scripted or real life WWE's Money in the Bank definitely all about what was going to happen with CM Punk. WWE did not drop the ball this time. In his hometown of Chicago, CM Punk defeated John Cena for the WWE Championship and it was a classic contest between the two. At the conclusion of the match Mr. McMahon tried getting Alberto Del Rio to cash his Money in the Bank contract in. Punk beat him to the punch but did not pin Del Rio. With CM Punk winning that means John Cena is "fired." Obviously WWE would not fire the guy who sells the most merchandise and is the face of the company. I will be really curious to see how this CM Punk storyline plays out but for now the whole wrestling world is talking about him. Here is everyone who tweeted on the kid from Chicago:

When a PPV delivers, especially the main event, & then the show goes off the air w/ more questions than answers I'd say that's a good nite.

From start to finish, MITB arguably was the best wrestling PPV of the year. Highly entertaining, great crowd & gutsy in ring work. Bravo.

Those are some pretty legendary people on that list and in a matter of three weeks CM Punk made himself a legend. Yes I said it, a legend. Some may disagree with that statement but he is the most talked about guy in pro wrestling at this moment. WWE was smart by doing what they did tonight.

WWE righted a couple of wrongs tonight besides the CM Punk situation. They put the World Heavyweight Title back on Christian in classic heel fashion which should have happened two months ago. He deserves it and rightfully has the gold again. They gave the Money in the Bank briefcases to Alberto Del Rio and Bryan Danielson(sorry for not using Daniel Bryan but I can't stand that name). Both are great wrestlers and both deserve the push.

I gotta say this is the first time I have thought highly of a WWE and TNA pay-per-view in the same month. Lets see if both companies can keep the momentum going with what they have done this month. We have new champions, new contract holders but tonight the wrestling fans were the real winners. The night belongs to them and the man who stands up for pro wrestling, the Straightedge Superstar CM Punk. Congrats to CM Punk for winning the WWE Championship. You truly earned it tonight.

Sting wins TNA Heavyweight Title and More

Last night on Impact Wrestling, Sting defeated Mr. Anderson to become TNA Heavyweight Champion for the 5th time in career there making him a now 12 time World Champion. Lately Sting has done a joker gimmick inspired by The Dark Knight movie. I have to admit is corny as it was at first he's doing it quite well. He even had help from clowns like in the beginning of the 2nd Batman movie. As much as I don't want to see the older guys like Hogan and Flair on TV anymore Sting still gets the job done but he shouldn't be the face of the company.

There is a lot of great talent in TNA like Robert Roode, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and many more who could hold that title. TNA needs to capitalize on what the did this past Sunday with Destination X. The X Division is the heartbeat of TNA and they put on the best pay-per-view of the year. It's time to give back to the fans what they want. They want the 6-sided ring and they want fast paced action.

I've said all this before but Hogan, Bischoff, and Russo all need to go. They all had a part in destroying WCW and I honestly want to TNA Impact Wrestling in business for awhile. TNA's biggest PPV is coming up soon in Bound for Glory and this year it will be in Philly. I love fans in Philly because they are passionate, outspoken and they sometimes get crazy. If they don't like something or someone they will let you know. Only time will tell what the major story will be heading into Bound for Glory this year. Keep staying tuned for more

The ESPY's seemed to be dominated by the Dallas Mavericks and pitcher Roy Halladay. I am not surprised though because everyone loves the Mavericks now and people have loads of respect Doc. Who do you think was the best in each category?

Thoughts on the 2011 MLB All Star Game and Festivities

The All Star Game has come and gone and it was definitely a fun last couple of days. Monday was the Home Run Derby featuring 8 heavy hitters. It was really fun watching a Red Sox-Yankees final in the derby. Robinson Cano defeated Adrian Gonzales in the finals. Later on that evening was the Celebrity Legends Game featuring guys like Ricky Henderson, Luis Gonzales, Ozzie Smith, and Mike Piazza. A lot of these guys are in great shape and it's always fun to watch them play. It's a great tradition that never gets old.

As far the All Star Game itself, it was very one sided. The American League was at such a disadvantage because of that horrible rule. The rule being that if you pitch the Sunday before the game you cannot pitch. This rule needs to be thrown out the window for one reason and one reason only. Since this game has so much riding on it the best players need to be playing in this game no matter what the circumstances are. Look at all the pitchers the American League was missing because of the rules. The National League had the game handed to them on a silver platter.

I will tip my hat to Prince Fielder because he smashed a nice a three run homer to get himself the MVP. I really think he has stepped out of his father's shadow and made a name for himself. I honestly think that he has become a better player then his old man ever was.

Speaking of former Tigers one of the highlights for me was watching a former Tigers pitcher Jair Jurrijens get out Miguel Cabrera and Jhonny Peralta in the game. I say this because Jurrijens is my favorite National League pitcher and I always tell people that the Tigers should have never gotten rid of him. If it weren't for Halladay and Lee being in the National League Jurrijens would be a Cy Young shoe-in this year.

The last thing I am going to say is that if the best players cannot play due to a rule then World Series home field advantage should not be determined by this game. If anything, it should be determined by who has the better inter-league record. The All Star Game doesn't mean anything if you have to replace half of the roster for a rule that shouldn't exist. One inning isn't going to kill a guy unless your Josh Beckett who already had an injury going into the game.

The league resumes play on Friday and the rumor mill will be going strong because the trade deadline is coming in three weeks. It will be interesting to see who gets dealt and what teams will make a push in the second half. Stay tuned for more as the deadline approaches.

Thoughts on TNA Destination X 2011

Tonight was the return of the six-sided ring and the featuring of the X Division. I don't get to excited for wrestling pay-per-views and I don't talk about how great pay-per-views are anymore but this one was awesome and one to remember. From top to bottom the action was non-stop and all good quality matches.

The opening match of the nigh was Samoa Joe vs. Kazarian and it was a nice way to start because of there bar fight on Impact this past week. It was nice to Joe do some stuff he hasn't done in a long time but at the end of the day Kazarian got the victory because Joe was too busy arguing with the referee and it cost him.

Douglas Williams' open challenge was accepted by fellow countrymen Mark Haskins. What a great way to make your PPV debut by working with a guy like Williams. I personally think it's great to see the British Invasion back together. They were and still are a great faction. Williams was pushed to the limit but ended up beating Haskins. I wouldn't be surprised to see Haskins join his fellow Brits.

Eric Young needed to find a tag partner to against Generation Me and he ran into CurryMan and Suicide. Neither of them wanted to tag but along came Shark Boy to be EY's tag team partner. I was really surprised on how this match. It was nice to see EY actually do some great wrestling and it paid off because EY and Shark Boy won the match.

Next up was the Ultimate X match featuring Amazing Red, Alex Shelly, Robbie E and Shannon Moore. This was a typical Ultimate X match but I give Shannon Moore for being a little crazy an innovative for his attempt at trying to win the match. Each man had a shot to win but in the end it was Alex Shelly who grabbed the X and became the number one contender to the X Division Title.

A feud rekindled itself as RVD VS. Jerry Lynn took place. This was one of those epic stories that needed to be told. Lynn really brought the offense tonight and proved to the world he still has it. RVD took a lot of punishment but he was able to hit the 5-Star Frog-splash to win the match against his greatest rival.

In a match where a winner gets a TNA contract it was Austin Aries, Low Ki, Jack Evans, and Zema Ion. All four men had great promo's and all four men really stole the show on this pay-per-view. All the fans were chanting "sign them all." I couldn't agree more. Austin Aries may have won the "contract" but I don't think you have seen the last of the other three competitors. What a great match, and great showing for everyone involved

Next up was Abyss defending his X Division Title against Brian Kendrick. If you know anything about Abyss, the idea of him being X Division Champion is just dumb. He is not a high flyer, not a lightweight and definitely not what highlights the X Division. I loved how Brian Kendrick kept fighting back and loved how the X Division battled with Immortal at the conclusion of this match. Brian Kendrick took advantage of the brawl and defeated Abyss to become new X Division Champion. All the X Division wrestlers were in the ring celebrating the title win.

The Main Event between AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels was indeed an epic battle between to friends who have been foes, friends and tag team partners. This was a great match that was "Wrestlemania" worthy for all you WWE fans out there. This was pure wrestling at it's best. Both men left everything in the ring and at the end of the night AJ Styles closed the show with a victory.

In my opinion this was one of the best wrestling PPV's I've seen in a long time. It's great to see guys like Kendrick, and Moore get featured because they weren't ever used right in WWE. By the way, WWE you totally dropped the ball on LowKi (Kaval for you non TNA fans). This guy has got some talent and WWE should have never let him go.

All in all I would give the PPV an 8 out of 10. I know it seems like I am riding the TNA bandwagon but I appreciate great wrestling when everyone is allowed to use their full abilities. I am looking to forward to see how the X Division is used from hear and out. Hogan, Bischoff, and Russo better open their eyes and realize this is what makes TNA Impact Wrestling what it is. It was definitely a defining moment for TNA and I would stay tuned if you're a WRESTLING fan!

If We Ran the Detroit Tigers...

I have these two friends that I discuss Detroit Tigers with baseball on a weekly basis sometimes daily basis. All three of our views are totally different on how we would run the team. For the purposes of this reading, I will call my friends Moose-Man and The Cuban. Here are all of our thoughts leading up to the trade deadline.

Moose-Man believes right now that the Tigers should trade Miguel Cabrera for some quality pitching. He believes Cabrera is a distraction and hits into to many double plays. He also feels that we have a good enough lineup without him and we shouldn't give up our whole farm system like we normally do.

Now The Cuban on the other hand loves her baseball and that's obvious because she's from Cuba and they love their baseball. For some reason she does not like Justin Verlander but she's coming around. She believes Brandon Inge needs to go. Inge has been there a long time and has had a great glove but a very horrible bat. We need another decent bat at the bottom of the lineup she says and Inge is not it.

Then there is my way of how I would do things. We all agree that Jim Leyland needs to be fired because he makes very poor choices a lot of times. However I would actually backtrack if I was running the Tigers. I would have never gotten rid of Jair Jurrijens, Omar Infante or Matt Joyce. I would have instead packaged Inge, Guillen and Ordonez to get a good pitcher. I love all three guys but they are no longer the future of Detroit.

Now acquiring Jhonny Peralta and Victor Martinez was a great thing and they have helped the Tigers tremendously but that still doesn't solve out pitching problem. I think right now we could get rid of Brandon Inge, Ryan Raburn, Ramon Santiago, Ryan Perry, and Phil Coke. None of them are really consistent and it would be roughly nine million dollars of wasted money we would be getting rid of. If Guillen comes back strong and Ordonez keeps hitting great like he has been then keep them around but remember they are both getting up in age and won't be around much longer. Both of them have been injury plagued so how do you really want to keep them?

The trade deadline is coming up in three weeks and it should be interesting to see what happens. What moves would you make if you ran the Tigers or any other MLB team?

Ortiz, Leban, and Cruz Beat the Odds at UFC 132

This past Saturday night was a great night of fights and stories at UFC 132. The first story of the night was in the fight between Tito Ortiz and Ryan Bader. Dana White said if Tito lost this fight his career would be over in the UFC. Well Tito made quick work of Ryan Bader by beating him with a submission (guillotine choke) at 1:56 of round 1. A lot of people think that this could put Tito back into title contention but we will have to wait and see what Dana White says.

The second story of the night was Chris Leban fighting his hero Wanderlei Silva. Silva has been in a lot of wars and it caught up with him because Leben defeated Silva by KO (punches) at 0:27 of round 1. Dana White has told the media that Silva's career is probably over. If so, he had a great career and has fought some of the best in the world. Chris Leban may have put himself in contention as well, but can anyone really stop Anderson Silva?

The final story of the night was in the Main Event. Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz was out to beat Urijah Faber to avenge a lost that he suffered from him four years earlier. The fight went all five rounds and it looked pretty even from what I saw. In the end though, Cruz defeafed Faber by unanimous decision (50–45, 49–46, 48–47) to retain the UFC Bantamweight Championship. Faber looked shocked and disappointed by the result but he even stated that he didn't do enough to earn the decision. There is no doubt in my mind Urijah Faber will be in another title fight sooner then we all think.

Thoughts on CM Punk's "Shoot" on 6/27/2011

Last night I sat down to watch a typical episode of Monday Night Raw. It had a few cool moments like seeing Shawn Michaels and Diamond Dallas Page. However, no one could have expected what CM Punk was going to say and how he came off. Here is what CM Punk let the whole world know last night.



I thought it was ironic that CM Punk was wearing a Stone Cold Steve Austin shirt because it felt like it was an Austin 3:16 moment. The only difference is Austin used it to help and build his career while CM Punk used to lash out at everyone who held him down. I've always liked CM Punk's ring work but WWE does one thing that TNA, and ROH doesn't, that is destroy talent and molds them into a WWE Superstar. There are guys like Evan Bourne (Matt Sydal), and Bryan Danielson that don't get to show their true abilities that showed before they got there because it's not WWE's way. CM Punk wants to be known as a pro wrestler and not an entertainer. As an old school fan I totally respect that.

Many are asking if this was a work or shoot promo. It it was a shoot what a way to go and leave your lasting impression on WWE fans. If it was a work, it was one of the best ones wrestling has seen in quite some time. No matter what it was I think CM Punk met every last word he said. It's going to be interesting to see what happens on July 17th when CM Punk takes on John Cena for the WWE Championship in Chicago which is Punk's home town.

I envision two things happening. The first scenario is that Punk wins and then someone cashes in Money in the Bank right afterwards. Number two, Punk loses and the arena and city riot. Chicago is known for diehard old school wrestling fans. If this indeed is CM Punk's last night in WWE he will have a lasting impression on everyone. This situation could be better then the Montreal Screw job of 1997.

All I can say now is stay tune to find out whats going to happen.

Capitol City Cage Fighting Championship: June 18, 2011 Results

This past Saturday night in Lansing Michigan, Ron DeLeon Promotions had another Capitol City Cage Fight Championship show that featured six title fights. It was an action packed night with a lot of exciting fight

Fight one: Alex Stutzky vs. Dave Vansuilcom
Stutzky by rear naked choke for his first MMA victory.

Fight two: Josh Robinson vs. Brent Letts
Robinson wins by rear naked choke 51 seconds into round one.

Fight three: Rex Terpstra vs. Austin Brown
Terpstra ends this fight with a crushing Muay Thai knee to the solar plexus dropping Brown to the mat and forcing the referee to stop the fight due to strikes. Rex Terpstra gets his first ever MMA win.

Fight four: Jarrod Bolan vs. Logan Augustine
Augustine wins as Bolan cannot answer the bell for the second round due to an apparent injury to his arm.

Fight five: Nancy Churches vs. Jamie Colby
Churches wins as Colby cannot answer the bell for round two giving Nancy Churches her first win in MMA.

Fight six: Bruce Merrill vs. Shawn Saville
Merrill wins as the ref stops the bout due to strikes at 1:03 of the first round.

Fight seven: Shannon Tiffany vs. Rey Reynero
In the most shocking end to a fight of this event, Rey Reynero drops his opponent with a crushing overhand right and ends this fight at FIVE seconds into the first round!!

Fight eight: Theresa Sass vs. Yolanda Gonzalez
One of the better fights of the night as Sass and Gonzalez go the distance. Yolanda Gonzalez gets the nod from the judges and wins by Split Decision.

Fight nine: Thomas Rzanca vs. Jack Ho
Jack Ho ends this bout in devastating fashion with a flurry of punches. The referee stops the bout at 15 seconds of the very first round.

Fight ten: Steve Poindexter vs. Ben Harris
Poindexter finishes Harris off at 2:52 of the first round with a rear naked choke.

Fight eleven: Travis Schoonmaker vs. Tyler Sible
This bout ends quickly and lethally as Schoonmaker drops Sible with head kick 12 seconds into round one!

Ward retains his 170 lb. title ending the fight via rear naked choke at 1:56 of round one.

Fight fifteen: CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE FIGHT (125lb.) Jen "Tink" Aniano vs. Kathleen Albany. This bout is for the vacant 125 lb. CCCFC Women's Championship.
In the most emotional moment of the night by far, Jen Aniano stops Albany in the second round via strikes, winning the CCCFC 125 ln Women's Championship. Jen Aniano dedicates her victory to her fallen teammate from Lightning Kicks, Kalamazoo Police Officer Eric (EZ) Zapata. Officer Zapata was killed in the line of duty in April of this year.

Fight sixteen: CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE FIGHT (145 lb.)-Rich Williams vs. Kory Wertz This bout is for the vacant 145 lb. CCFC Championship.
Former 145 lb. titleholder Ben Sutton had vacated this title to move to his natural weight class. In one of the most hotly contested events of the evening, a five round war goes to the judge's score cards. Rich Williams prevails and wins the 145 lb. CCCFC Championship by unanimous decision.

Fight seventeen: CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE FIGHT (155lb.)- James "The Ninja Bunny of Doom" Carrow vs. Coty Marcoux for the CCCFC 155lb. Championship.
Carrow and Marcoux go to round three of this fight as Carrow controls the fight from beginning to end. He finishes off Marcoux via head triangle at :44 seconds of round number three becoming the new CCCFC 155 lb. champion.

Interview with "Gentleman" John Campbell

In 2007, a young man from Harrison, Michigan decided to pursue his dreams and take his Canadian Heritage with him along the way. John Campbell has made quite an impact in the last four years. He has wrestled in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. He was won numerous titles in the Midwest and he is always trying to better himself along the way. I had a chance to talk with John Campbell about his thoughts and feelings on where he has been and where he is going

What made you wants to be in pro wrestling?
When I was younger I was really overweight. I was bullied and picked on a lot in elementary school. My cousin introduced wrestling and after that I started living vicariously through the wrestlers on TV. As a kid it was my escape and I always looked at wrestling as real life superheroes. No matter how bad things got, I turned on the TV, and I saw those guys doing what I wish I could do at the time.

What are your first thoughts and memories about being in pro wrestling?
Setting up ring, and then getting to be able to bump around in the ring afterwards. I finally thought, I am here and I am living my dream.

What has your training experience been like with Eric Freedom?
It’s been great, and he’s been to the dances more then once. He has been in the business for over 20 years and has worked for all the major companies so I can really pick his brain. He has a real knack for knowing what people have to work on and knowing what people have to do to make it. He’s really great a teaching the psychology of a match.

Who came up with idea for the Canadian Hit Squad?
It was myself, Cody Kelley and Nik VanCore. We were driving home from a show and we racking our brains about what we wanted to do. Cody came up with the idea to be Canadian because I have a legitimate Canadian heritage. I came up with the name

Who has all been apart of the Canadian Hit Squad and how have they contributed?
Myself, Cody Kelley, Nik VanCore, Jean Paul Lavek, and Rex Hart. Cody was my first full time tag team partner and with Jean Paul and Nik VanCore were all friends outside of wrestling before we all broke in. We meshed very well because we had that friendship. Rex Hart is someone I became very good friends with after I got into business and he brought 20 years of experience. He can legitimately bench 800 pounds so he is a powerhouse.

What is your most memorable match?
The night that myself, Cody Kelley, and Jean Paul, and Rex Hart teamed to take on Pyschodelic Inc and Road Dogg Jesse James. I remember looking around with some of my best friends in and out of the business and remembering how cool it was that I was working with someone that I grew up watching. It was 10 minutes from where I live.

What is the best wrestling show you have been on thus far?
I honestly can’t answer that because I don’t hold one show over another. They are all big shows to me because people pay there hard earned money to be a ticket.

What was it like meeting Rowdy Roddy Piper?
It was awesome; he was legitimately my hero growing up. He actually pulled me aside and asked me questions about my career. I thought that was really because here is my hero and he wants to know how and what I am doing. Ever since I’ve gotten in the business I try not to mark out but in my mind I kept saying, “Holy Shit this is Rowdy Roddy Piper.” He’s really cool and you can tell he’s a genuine person

If you could face one legend who would it be and why?
It’s a toss up between Hogan, Flair, Piper and Bret Hart. They were my heroes growing up as a kid.

Now I am going to give you few names and I want you to describe them in a sentence.
Cody Kelley: My best friend. If things would have been different he totally would have made it
Nik VanCore: Back on the scene. I think people are going to be very impressed this time around. Also another best friend
Rex Hart: Great guy. I am glad he’s on my side
Eric Freedom: My mentor in the business. I am proud to call him one of my best friends
Bret Hart: Great inspiration. Somebody I really looked up to as a kid and somebody I still do.

Do you have any road stories you would like to share?
One time I did a show down in Indiana. On the way down I blew a tire and I put the spare on to make it to the show. During my match I broke my hand, and then on the way home I blew the spare tire. Luckily someone we were riding with drove from Grand Rapids to South Bend to come get us. I end up staying the night in Grand Rapids. The next day I had my friend Tim drive to Grand Rapids to take me back down to South Bend so I can get a tire for my car and go home. However, it was Sunday and we could not find an open tire place to save our lives. All the money we had was for gas and to buy a new tire so we bummed around South Bend for a day. I finally ended up going to the emergency room and we ended up sleeping at an all night Wal-Mart in the Home and Garden Section. Finally the next day we were able to get a tire and leave. I hate Indiana!

If you could choose were you could wrestle between WWE, TNA, and ROH which would one would you choose and why?
I would like to wrestle for all three someday because its three different styles and three different rosters of guys I could learn from.

Is there anyone on the Michigan Indy Scene that you haven’t wrestled yet that you would like to?
Three guys in particular. First and foremost James Dillinger because he’s one of my best friends outside the business. The next guy is Gideon Malice because he is the real deal. Also Stuntman Mike because it would be an easy win.

What can we expect from “Gentleman” John Campbell in the future?
I am going to keep working hard and busting my ass to entertain the people and put on a show…a good show.

The future is bright for "Gentleman" John Campbell. With his positive attitude, his positive work ethic and positive influences, John is going to very far not just in wrestling but in life as well.

Interview with BAM

On June 12th 2011 Byron Marsh made his return to the pro wrestling scene in Michigan after a three year hiatus. He wrestled for Price of Glory Wrestling in Coldwater Michigan and defeated Sue Jackson. Before his hiatus he accomplished some great things in his life as a pro wrestler in Michigan. He was the second man to hold the POG Heavyweight Championship and was in the first ever POG Glorified Tournament and took on Sharkboy in the first round. He even wrestled ROH standout Jimmy Jacobs who is one of the top indy stars in Michigan, if not the country. I caught up with BAM to get his thought on the past, the present, the future and this is what I got.

Q: What are your first memories of wrestling as a fan?
A: My first memory of wrestling is flipping thru the channels I caught Stone Cold holding Vince McMahon hostage, it caught my attention then I started watching the episode and was drawn to the performance. I remember every time my Dad would walk into the room I would change the channel as I was embarrassed and thought he would make fun of me for watching, but from that moment I was tuning in every time I could.

Q: What made you want to be a professional wrestler?
A: I wanted to be in front of the crowd I wanted to hear cheers and to prove to everyone who told me I couldn’t that I could, to this day I still get butterflies when I hit the curtain

Q: What was your experience like training with Dan Severn?
A: Intimidating at first…I was nervous, excited. Once I got there and met him it was very comforting very nice guy, humble very tell it like it is, I am glad that I chose to go and train there, I checked out many wrestling schools and decided upon Michigan Sports Camps (MSC).

Q: What are your first memories of being in pro wrestling on the Michigan scene?
A: I was sitting in a locker room preparing to referee the show, then I hear someone needing a fill in for a tag team match I had some gear with me so I raised my hand and was in the match.

Q: During your first run as a wrestler, what was your most memorable match?
A: My most memorable match ironically is one I have no memory at all of, BAM vs. Johnny Dynamo. We literally knocked each other out I have no memory of that match other than what I have seen on video, at the opening bell he hit me with a slap and I was out on my feet, then I returned the favor and put him out, I remember starting the match and then next thing I remember I am sitting on my couch in Kalamazoo.

Q: What was the idea behind Hypknow?
A: Work I wanted to wrestle as much as I possibly could and so I created the gimmick of Hypknow I would wear my BAM tights underneath the Hypknow gear when I was done as Hypknow I would go and take the pants and mask off and head right back out there.

Q: Any road stories you want to share?
A: There was this time when myself, Adam “Noah Lott” Johnson and Andrew “Big Andrewski” Horton were traveling to MSC, we got onto the highway via the Sprinkle Road on ramp we got onto the highway and it was empty not one car, every on ramp we passed was barricaded by cops, fire trucks, ambulances, guns drawn….we didn’t know what the hell was going on, just that we were making great time. We traveled probably 30-40 miles just us and the road when all of a sudden there was red and blues behind us pulling us over, we couldn’t figure out what the hell we did wrong, Adam was driving, he wasn’t speeding, Andrewski actually was sticking his ass to the window, so no one was in the wrong. The officer took all of our ID’s went back to his car and sat about 15 minutes, then all of a sudden a whole slew of cars came flying by, the cop returned and gave us our ID’s and said we were free to go…we asked him what was it all about, to which he replied, President George Bush and his motorcade was on their way out of Michigan there wasn’t supposed to be anyone on the highway, he asked us how we got onto the highway , we told him and I can only imagine that cop working that area got his ass chewed.

Q: If you wrestle any legend who would it be?
A: Rob Van Dam I don’t know what it is about him but every time he is one TV I always finding myself glued to the TV.

Q:If you could choose to wrestle between ROH, TNA and WWE which one would you choose and why?
A: WWE would have to be my choice, I’m not a huge fan of their product but how can you argue with a company that has been so successful for so long…you make it big there you become a household name.

Q: After a three year hiatus, what made you decide to come back to pro wrestling on the Michigan scene?
A: My kids, they have been watching my DVD’s more and more and when I see their faces light up when I come out on the TV I had to see it live and seeing it live was one of the top moments in my life.

Q: Is there anyone that you would like to wrestle from your first run again?
A: I always enjoyed wrestling Dynamo he’s a good friend, always had fun matches we work well with one another and always entertain the crowd.

Q: Who would you like to wrestle that you haven't you wrestled yet?
A: There isn’t anyone that I can single out, I am always looking forward to wrestling new faces and seeing what kind of chemistry can be made.

Q: What can we expect from BAM in the future?
A: There isn’t much to be expected I am limiting my time in the ring to once, MAYBE, twice a month if the right opportunities present themselves…I love wrestling and entertaining, but at the same time on the independent level we aint getting paid big bucks, I’ve got a family to tend to and support which is why I can’t see myself being on the road every weekend like I used to do, even though those times were lots of fun, with the cost of gas I can’t afford to fill my tank every week and still put food on the table. The time I get with my kids during the week is very limited with my job and the time on the weekends have been limited up till now, as I have been working 6-7 days a week for the past 4 years, I now have opportunities to be with my family on the weekends and I am going to cherish that time. Who knows maybe something will come from my one day a month matches and maybe it’ll be nothing more than a night of entertaining the fans and performing doing what I love to do.

Whatever the future holds for BAM, it's going to be a good one. He is very talented and knows how to entertain a crowd. Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior Feuding 20 Years Later

I've sat back over the last few weeks and watched and read all the stuff going on between Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior. This is all started when Warrior took offense to Hogan claiming to be Randy Savage's friend after Savage passed away. It's been widely reported that Randy and Hulk buried the hatchet a couple of years ago. Warrior also took exception to Hogan's hour long video with The Voice.

Warrior released his own video called Karma Collects, and it was an hour long shoot interview on Hulk Hogan. He made a lot of powerful statements and some would say powerful accusations. A lot of people are looking at Hulk Hogan different now since these videos have been released. I who have prided myself on being a Hulkamaniac question some of these things now because Warrior was around Hogan for many years and traveled with him.

There have been rumors that Ultimate Warrior was going to head to TNA Impact Wrestling to feud with Hogan on TV. The only thing I am going to say about that is, you two had your moment to shine on April 1st 1990 in the Skydome. You embarrassed yourselves 8 years later at Halloween Havoc. I personally think both men should get out of the spotlight and take their personal issues with each other out of wrestling. I always say that the best storylines in wrestling are the ones based off real life issues. You two morons aren't making any money doing what you're doing now. If you're going to feud, feud for the whole world to see not on twitter, not on YouTube, and not on the internet. Sign on a contract and put it on Pay-Per-View, and call it The Ultimate Challenge Part 2. You two can have one final big payday and ride off into the sunset with your old bodies intact.

I remember back in 2005 when WWE put out The Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior DVD. The weird thing is Hogan is the only one who had anything good to say about The Ultimate Warrior so the question now is, who is working who? Stay tuned for more because I am sure this is far from over.

It was nearly two years ago when a mysterious caller had called in to the Bubba the Love Sponge show and said that Karen Angle was living with Jeff Jarrett. A lot of spectulated and no one knew it was true until Dixie Carter suspended Jeff Jarrett indefinitely. Jeff Jarett eventually came back but it wasn't until eight months ago that the real life issues between Jarrett and Angle started playing out on TV. Jarrett turned heal and aligned himself with Hogan and Immortal while Angle fought for his respect. During this whole rivalry the kids were dragged on TV and the now Karen Jarrett came back to TNA on TV. This feud had so many twists and turns to it but it was one of the best feuds pro wrestling has seen in a long time.

Jeff and Karen got married on August 21, 2010 and little did they know, their families would be thrown on TV. The feud finally concluded this past Thursday night in a Parking Lot Brawl. The stipulation is if Jarrett lost he would have to leave Impact Wrestling and go to Mexico. Kurt Angle made Jarrett quit and that's how Impact Wrestling went off the air.

For storyline purposes it worked out Jarrett because his now the AAA World Heavyweight Championship which he won last night at AAA TripleMania 19. Here are the full results of that show:

I have a feeling Jarrett will be back in TNA but for now he's staying down in Mexico to better the relationship between TNA and AAA. It is a partnership that could finally get TNA Impact Wrestling where they need to be to make some real big noise. I've often said that the best storylines in wrestling have come from real life feuds. Feuds that I am talking about include Kevin Sullivan's feuds with Brian Pillman and Chris Benoit. Look at the feud between Matt Hardy and Edge over Lita. Both their careers really took off after that, especially Edge.

As far as Kurt Angle goes, he announced he is trying out for the 2012 USA Olympic Wrestling Team. Whether or not Jarrett and Angle cross paths again remains to be seen. One thing for sure both are going on to bigger and better things. They both deserve some closure and their families deserve privacy. What's done is done and I will say the feud was great while it lasted. It was real, it was damn real and I enjoyed every minute of it.

I actually like Jim's idea. I think it would be more competitive and better rivalries would be created. Right now it sounds like either the Astros or Marlins will be moving to the National League to even out the AL and NL. I would stay tuned for more on this topic because some major things could be happening before to long as it regards to baseball.

Thoughts on Wrestling Pay-Per-Views

Last week it was revealed that WWE's Over the Limit pay-per-view was the lowest bought since the 2006 PPV December to Dismember. So the question is, what's the problem with wrestling pay-per-views in general. Well that big problem is that sports bars, and streaming websites show them for free so why would anyone pay big money to watch a show when they can watch it for free?

The big problem with WWE is everyone is getting tired of the same old thing. They don't do anything to hype their pay-per-views. Matches are thrown together with a lack of buildup. I think the reason UFC pay-per-views have been so successful is because of their programs leading up to it that have the fighters talking trash and training for their fights.

The problem with TNA Impact Wrestling is that they are still only the alternative, not the competitive like WCW once was. However TNA is doing some smart things like having Destination X be all about the X Division and Hardcore Justice where it's all about blood, guts, and weapons. However TNA PPV's are not shown at sports bars like WWE PPV's are. I have no doubt in my mind a lot of people watch both companies PPV's but they are either doing so in-front of their computer or at a Buffalo Wild Wings somewhere.

I personally think WCW and WWE killed the pay-per-view market years ago when they each were holding 12-13 pay-per-views a year. People got sick of buying shows and watching the same thing month after month. Nothing innovative has been done in a long time except some minor things TNA has done.

The one solution to getting buys back up is having pay-per-views on Saturdays instead of Sundays but make sure you schedule around the UFC shows because UFC would beat out TNA and WWE any day of the week now. People don't have to get up and go to work on Sundays. I think both companies should go that route for a year and see what happens. That's the only solution I can think of but until then I believe PPV buys are going to continue to drop.

Dos Santos Shines at UFC 131

Last night Junior Dos Santos proved one thing. It don't matter who you put in-front of him, he's going to destroy them. Shane Carwin made his he return to the UFC after a lengthy absence and he took a beating. I got to give him credit though he took a beating and survived the full three rounds. Dos Santos wins Dos Santos by unanimous decision(30–27, 30–27, 30–26). He's definitely the number one contender now and I think Cain Velasquez is going to have his hands full.

Kenny Florian made some history last night and that was being the first man to fight in four different weight classes in the UFC. He's won in all of them too. He defeated Diego Nunes by unanimous decision (29–28, 29–28, 30–27). It was a very close fight and I am not even sure Florian should have won but as they say, never leave it in the hands of the judges.

The Downfall of OSU and USC

Earlier this week, the BCS committee stripped USC of their 2004 National Championship because of Reggie Bush being ineligible that season for receiving improper benefits. Just a few short months ago Bush forfeited his Heisman Trophy which basically admits that he was wrong. Luckily for Coach Pete Carroll he is not even there he is getting no backlash whatsoever on this.

A couple thousand miles away the scandal at Ohio State is unraveling. Terrell Pryor along with others recieved improper benefits and money. This led to to an original 5 game suspension of Coach Tressel, Pryor and the 5 others who recieved improper benefits. The further the story went along, the more details came. Coach Tressel resigned from Ohio State because it was proven he was aware of his players actions.

As for Pryor he is now leaving Buckeye Nation and headed to the NFL or posssibly the CFL. Have guys like Pryor and Bush tarnished their legacies? From a College career yes. Bush has been great as a pro and it remains to be seen how Pryor will do.

It seems to me that these College atheletes are getting just as greedy as the pro's. Here is my solution, if a player gets caught recieving benefits, strip away their scholarship and let the person or persons that are giving them money pay for their schooling. Give the scholarship to some non-atheletic students who work hard, and are trying to better themselves and their education. Maybe that these atheletes will apprieciate the free education that they get.

It's a terribe thing that two superstars have destroyed their Colleges. USC and OSU will not be the same for a long time. Their recruiting is going to be bad, thier going to be watched like a hawk and the amount of penalities they are going to get might hurt the entire atheletics program of each school. Both teams were dominant in the conferences they played in and now conferences are up for anyone to win.

Who knows maybe someday down the road you will see a USC vs. OSU National Championship Game without any cheaters. Like I said who knows.

Guida Stops the Show at the Ultimate Fighter Finale

This past Saturday the Ultimate Fighter Finale which featured Team Lesnar vs. Team Dos Santos. It was a good solid card for TV. Even though Tony Ferguson defeated Ramsey Nijem by KO (punches) at 3:54 of round 1 to become the Season 13 Welterweight winner of The Ultimate Fighter. The fight I looked forward to the most wast between Clay Guida and Anthony Pettis

I was really surprised by this fight. Guida really kept in control for the majority of the fight but Pettis showed some of his impressive kicks. In the end Guida defeated Pettis by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27). Pettis was originally suppose to be the number one contender to the Lightweight Championship but now should Guida be there because of this victory. It should be interesting to find out what Dana White does with that. Other results included:

Shaquille O'Neal Retires

Yesterday after 19 seasons in the NBA Shaq has announced his retirement. Shaq was a standout star at LSU which led him to be chosen number one overall in 1992 by the Orlando Magic. Shaq spent his first four years with Orlando but in 1996 the big man had enough and he with the L.A. Lakers. He won 3 titles with the Lakers, and was MVP in all of them. In 2004, he was traded to the Miami Heat for Caron Butler, Lamar Odom, Brian Grant and a future first-round draft choice. He brought a title to Miami with Dwayne Wade in 2006. From there he made one year stops in Phoenix, Cleveland and Boston

The guy is simply a phenomenon and deserves all the accolades he gets. He is one of the all time greats. He will always be remembered as one of the best big man to ever play the game.

Heartbreak at Indy and Charlotte

This past Sunday, racing couldn't have scripted itself any better. The first race of the day was the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500. It was a very competitive race which had a very emotional ending. On the last lap J.R. Hildebrand was leading and in turn four he crashed his car which led to Dan Wheldon winning the 500 after two years in a row of finishing second. As a result of his win, he earned 2.6 million dollars and left Hildebrand heartbroken.

In the nightcap, NASCAR had the Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte. This too was a very competitive race which had 19 guys leading the race at some point in time. On the last lap Dale Earnhardt Jr. was leading and ran out of gas 500 feet before the finish line which allowed Kevin Harvick to win the race.

Oddly enough Earnhardt Jr. and Hildebrand are both sponsored by National Guard. I am sure we haven't heard the last of Hildebrand, and Jr. is having one of the better seasons he has had because right now he is 4th in standings without even winning a race. If Jr. keeps driving like he is right now he will end his winless streak once and for all.

If you're a racing fan you got two exciting finishes but if you're Hildebrand and Earnhardt, the victory would have much sweeter.

Mir and Rampage Dominate UFC 130 and More

This past Saturday UFC 130 took place and it was definitely what I expected and hoped for. The co main event of the night was between Frank Mir and Roy Nelson. All I got to say is Nelson is one tough dude for the beating he took but in the end it was Mir defeating Nelson by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26). Mir has been pretty impressive as of late and I thinking he will be in the Heavyweight title picture again.

In the Main Event, Rampage Jackson took on Matt Hamill. Hamill was another one who I admired for taking the beating he did, but like Mir, Jackson defeated Hamill by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27). That's two big wins for Quinton now and he's got to be considered the number one contender at this point.

Lebron better then MJ, Really Scottie Pippen?

This morning as I watching ESPN I seriously could not believe that former Chicago Bull and teammate of Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen said that Lebron James could be better then Michael Jordan. I've heard a lot of crazy things in my time but let me make this clear Michael Jordan played in a tougher era with players like Bird, Magic and Ewing. He played against tougher teams like the Trailblazers, Pistons, Celtics, Lakers and Knicks.

Lebron James is a great player but he never will be Jordan. Jordan didn't have to switch teams to win championships. Even if Lebron wins six with the Heat it doesn't mean anything because he had to leave his team to play on someone else's. Lets face it the Miami Heat are Dwayne Wade's team and always will be.

Even Scottie Pippen's teammates are in total shock and disagreement over his comments. I know a lot of Chicago fans can't be happy about his comments considering the Heat just beat the Bulls to make it to the finals. One other thing I would like touch on is MJ made people famous, Lebron hasn't. Look at guys like John Paxson, Steve Kerr, and many others who played MI. They wouldn't be as famous if they wouldn't have played with Jordan.

Scottie Pippen I have a lot of respect for you but realize it's because of Michael Jordan you're considered one of the all time greats. How many championships did you win without him? None whatsoever. Michael Jordan is greatest player to ever live and no one will ever come close to what he was and is to the game of basketball. End of story, case closed.

RIP "Macho Man" Randy Savage

This morning the wrestling world learned that one of it's greatest in ring performers of all time has passed away. Randy Poffo made his pro wrestling debut in November 1973 and was trained by his legendary father Angelo Poffo. He made his WWE debut in 1985 and quickly got noticed. His early fueds with Tito Santana, Bruno Sammartino and George "The Animal" Steele are what really put him on the map as being a legit star. He had a 14 month reign is the Intercontinental Champion which ended at Wrestlemania 3.

Most people consider Wrestlemania 3 and his match with Ricky Steamboat to be the highlight of his career. Even after his lost to Steamboat he went on to do some great things. In late 1987 he turned face and formed the Mega Powers with Hulk Hogan. Savage's crowning moment happened at Wrestlemania 4 when he won the WWE Championship in a 14 man tournament. However one year later he turned heel and lost the title to Hogan. During his heel run he had feuds with Hogan, Dusty Rhodes and The Ultimate Warrior.

In 1991 Savage turned face once again feuding with Jake the Snake Roberts, Ric Flair and his last real feud in WWE with Crush. Savage departed WWE in 1994 to head to WCW. He wrestled for five years and then in 1999 disappeared from wrestling until he made two brief appearances for NWA-TNA (now known as Impact Wrestling). Randy Savage provided us with many moments and many accomplishments including:

-King of the Ring (1987)
-4x WCW World Heavyweight Champion
-WCW World War 3 (1995)

Randy Savage will always be remembered for his charisma, Slim Jim commercials and his colorful in ring gear. My thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to his wife Lynn, Lanny Poffo (also known as The Genius). We will never forget you Macho. Rest in Peace!

Wes Leonard and Fennville Featured on ESPN

Yesterday I was honored and privileged to watch ESPN's feature on Wes Leonard and how the team and community came together after his sudden passing. It's been two months since his untimely passing and no one has forgotten this larger and life personality. Here is the video that was aired on ESPN yesterday:



I think it's wonderful that ESPN acknowledged a bright young man who was the focal point of the high school and community in Fennville. My thoughts, prayers and continued condolences go out Wes Leonard's family and friends. It's never easy to go through something like this but remember he will always be in your hearts.

Turmoil with the Yankees

A lot has been going on with the New York Yankees over the last few days. Jorge Posada's refusal to bat ninth has been blown into a huge ordeal in New York. He actually took himself out of the lineup and asked to be released. Now in comes the captain Derek Jeter who is not at all happy with what's going on and made some remarks to reporters that Yankee officials were not happy with.

Right now Posada is a lousy .165 and he felt disrespected by being put in the lineup at ninth. He should consider himself lucky for being in the lineup at all. I know if I was a GM or Manager I would sit him down, send him to AAA or release him if that's what he really asked for.

New York has now last 6 games in a row and there seems to be some division between players, managers and upper management on the Posada ordeal as well as other issues with the team. It could be a very long season for the Yankees if they don't get it together. They are trailing the Rays in their division and that's not a team you want to be losing to as hot as they are.

Can New York survive this drama or will the turmoil be too much for the Bronx Bombers to handle? Stay tuned to find out.

TNA Wrestling Renamed Impact Wrestling?

Last night was a night full of surprises for any of those who watched TNA Impact. First it started with the return of Chris Harris who hasn't been in TNA in over four years. He was introduced as Matt Hardy's mystery partner for their match against Beer Money at Sacrifice.

Mick Foley was revealed as the network representative and said that the show was no longer called TNA Impact, it would be called Impact Wrestling. My question that I have on my mind would is the company now called Impact Wresting, or just the TV show? Because on their website it's still referred to as TNA. The motto of this Impact Wrestling is "Wrestling Matters Here." I think this a counter move to WWE taking wrestling out of their name.

The words pro wrestling don't get thrown around on TV anymore but I think this might be TNA's last ditch effort to try and make something happen with the company. There is no doubt in my mind that TNA has the talent to have a great wrestling company but there is no structure, not solid storylines except the Jarrett-Angle one and there's no balance.

The other big shocker of the night was the return of former WWE Attitude star Chyna. She will be teaming with Kurt Angle to take on Jeff and Karen Jarrett in a mixed tag match. Chyna has not been in TV since 2001 I believe and it's great to see.

TNA Sacrifice is this Sunday. I would stay tuned to see how far this Impact Wrestling thing is going to go. Will it indeed make an impact or will it be an epic fail? Only time will tell.

What Should the Lakers Do?

After yesterdays devastating lost that led them to get swept by the Mavericks a lot of people are asking what should the Lakers do? The first thing they should do is get rid of Andrew Bynum after that cheap shot he laid on J.J. Barrea in the fourth quarter. I also think Lamar Odom and Ron Artest have worn out their welcome in L.A. because they are causing more problems then they are benefiting the team. I've been hearing Dwight Howard's name a lot in rumors of him possibly going to the Lakers at some point. If Dwight Howard went to the Lakers it would be very hard to stop them. Kobe Bryant needs a dominant big man that's not going to bring any drama and who knows his place on the team.

It is ever so apparent that Phil Jackson is retired so now they need to a new coach. A lot of people are looking at Lakers assistant Brian Shaw. He was a Laker as a player and has a close relationship with Kobe Bryant. I honestly think Shaw will be the next head coach unless he turns it down which I doubt he would.There a lot of questions surrounding the Lakers right now and not a lot of answers. The beat down they received yesterday was one of the worst in franchise history and they were poor sports in their losing effort.

For Lakers fans, don't worry your team will be back but I don't think it's going to be anytime soon. They need to rebuild the entire team and get rid of the clowns and crybabies on the team. Can the Lakers comeback strong next year or will it be a few years before they reach the promise land? Stay tuned because it could be a very interesting summer.

Justin Verlander Throws His 2nd No Hitter

On June 12 2007 when Justin Verlander threw his first no hitter against the Milwaukee Brewers I had a feeling it wouldn't be his last. On that he struck-out twelve and walked four. Yesterday Verlander entered the game against the Blue Jays with a 2-3 record and has struggled at times already this year. Justin Verlander looked like the pitcher from 2006 when the Tigers went to the World Series and the guy who dominated in 2009. He is only 28 years old and here are just some of his highlights so far in his career:

-3 time All-Star selection (2007, 2009, 2010)
-Led AL in strikeouts (269), innings pitched (240), tied AL lead in wins (19) in 2009

This guy is something special. He's one of only 20 pitchers who has even thrown 2 or more no hitters. That's something special considering there have been 271 no hitters thrown. A lot of people might say well if it weren't for one walk he would have had a perfect game. That is true but as I said only 20 pitchers in the history of Major League Baseball have thrown multiple no hitters.

I truly believe again that this is not the last no hitter we have seen from Verlander. As a Tiger fan I am hoping this will be the turning point of the season and we will make a run towards the playoffs again. Congratulations to Justin Verlander for throwing another no hitter.

Thoughts on Randy Orton vs. Christian (Smackdown 5/6/2011)

This past Friday Randy Orton challenged World Heavyweight Champion Christian in the main event on Smackdown. This was one of the best title matches I've seen on TV in a long time. In my opinion it was actually Wrestlemania worthy. The ending was shocking as Randy Orton hit an RKO on Christian in mid-air and captured the World Heavyweight Title.

A lot of fans are outraged because Christian just only won the title less then a week ago. I am a Randy Orton fan but I believe Christian deserved a lengthy title reign because he deserves. He proved in TNA that he was a main eventer and could hang with top guys. Even in losing this past week he proved he could hang with the top guys.

It's no secret Vince McMahon has never liked him and doesn't have much faith in him but sometimes Vince should listen to the fans. People were genuinely happy to see Christian win the World Title. The guy worked his butt off to get there but politics happen to rear there ugly head when ever they possibly can.

I've also heard people say that we should wait and see what happens. I agree with that because if you go by the standard Captain Charisma is guaranteed a rematch for the title. All I got to say is stay tuned because I don't think we have heard the last from Christian and we certainly haven't heard the last of the WWE Universe on this situation.

An NBA Lockout Coming?

Right now we are in the midst of an NFL lockout which doesn't seem to want to get resolved. Now it's drawing even closer to the day when the NBA is going to have a lockout. The current collective bargaining agreement ends in July and just like the NFL they haven't come up with a new one.

The reports coming out are that the players aren't happy. You're making millions of dollars and you're not happy? These athletes are kidding ridiculous and don't realize how good they got it. The average American is struggling and they are complaining about a few million dollars. I think the way sports are ran needs to be restructured.

The average American gets a raise at a normal job based on performance. All athletes should get paid based on performance then whatever they get in endorsement deals they keep. Each year the team should set goals for each player based on their capabilities as in athlete. If you make your goals, you get good money. If you are short on your goals you make less money. If you are over on your goals you make more money.

In my humble opinion players of the NFL, MLB, NHL and NBA should all have to earn the money they make by having performance goals. One of the reasons I love golf, bowling and sports of that nature are because they have to earn the money they make. You never ever see a bowler or golfer who finishes last make a million dollars.

How crappy would it be if there was no NBA or NFL season next year? We all need to start thinking about this stuff and either A. Boycott the games or B. Start writing the teams you support. We as sports fans need to start taking a stand and making our voices heard.

I really enjoyed the Aldo-Hominick fight because it was the best fight I've seen a long time. The GSP fight went as I thought it would. GSP would outlast Jake Shields for five rounds giving Shields his first lost in 6 years. And finally Lyoto Machida has ended the legendary career of Randy Couture. Couture had a great career but now gets to enjoy the fruits of his labor. UFC 129 was awesome and I really hope UFC keeps bringing the fans stacked cards.

Sports World Reacts to Osama Bin Laden's Death

Last night around 11pm President Barack Obama announced that United States special op's team had found and killed worldwide known terrorist Osama Bin Laden. A lot of people celebrated at Ground Zero, and the White House. The sports world reacted in such a way that was totally awesome. Here are some videos to show the example that I am talking about.





It's fitting that WWE announced it because After 9/11 WWE was the first organization to hold any kind of sporting or entertainment event after the attacks of that day. All I am going to say is God Bless America, and God Bless the men and women who serve our country!
