ESPN Fantasy Baseball Update
Some of you may have noticed I haven't posted on my ESPN Fantasy Baseball team in a long time. Well I threw in the white flag a while ago. I am 4-17 and in dead last against my fellow employees at where I work. I am very ashamed I didn't do better considering my knowledge of baseball. There is always next year and I know I will do better. This is my first year running a full fantasy baseball team and I think it will take me a little bit to catch on. There is one trend I might follow next year and I am not giving strategy away to anyone. Well I will be back at the end of the season to show you how horrible I did in this league. Until then you'll have to be patient.
Nogueira reclaims dominance at UFC 102
UFC 102 didn't leave my disappointed Saturday Night. The long awaited fight between Randy Couture and Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira didn't let down at all. But before I get to that lets talk about a few other fights. For example Todd Duffee knocked Tim Hague in seven seconds a new UFC record. Hague is from Calgary, Alberta Canada and now might just be as famous as Bret Hart. Gabriel Gonzaga got back into the win column with a victory against Chris Tuchscherer. Brandon Vera defeated Krzysztof Soszynski in a good three round battle. Also Nate Marquardt defeated Demian Maia in 21 seconds which shocked me because Maia is a really good fighter and was undefeated up until that point. And what about Keith Jardine getting beat by Thiago Silva in 95 seconds. I thought for sure that fight was going three rounds with as many 3 round fights Jardine has had.
The finally the battle of two legends, Couture vs. Nogueira. The fight didn't disappoint but it was mainly dominated by Nogueira. Couture did counter a lot of Nogueira's submission attempts which kept him in the fight for the whole duration of it. I have a lot of respect for both fighters. With this victory Nogueira is probably next in line for Lesnar that is unless Shane Carwin somehow beats Lesnar at UFC 106 which I doubt will happen. UFC 103 is September 19th so I will be back then with more UFC news. The Ultimate Fighter starts September 16th and It's going to be great. Stay tuned for more...

What about Drew Stanton?
I am not much of a Detroit Lions fan...actually I am not a Lions fan at all but there is one thing thats got me interested. All anyone is talking about is the Quarterback battle between Matthew Stafford, and Dante Caulpepper. I've watched all three preseason games and why is no one talking about Drew Stanton? He has looked the best out of three so far this year. Personally I think he should be the starter opening day. He's got to be somewhat good if he was drafted in the second round. I think if he started on a regular basis and got into a rhythm and system then he could be great. Look at his numbers at MSU
YEAR CMP ATT YDS CMP% LNG TD INT SACKED
2003 2 3 39 66.7 31 0 0 1

TOTAL 543 846 6524 64 75 42 28 47
Those number are not that bad. They aren't that great but I've seen worst. He could be a prodigy and superstar waiting to happen. I think if the Lions don't give him a fair shot he will leave and end being a success wherever he goes. There are some teams in need of a good Quarterback. I think of a few teams like the Houston Texans, Buffalo Bills, St. Louis Rams, San Fransisco 49ers, and I might even say the Washington Redskins. There will always be a team i need of a good Quarterback. Stanton had the game winning touchdown today and has moved the ball more then the other two. Anyways on that note I think you are going to hear a lot more from Drew Stanton in the future. I wouldn't count him just yet. Stay tuned for the rise of Drew Stanton.

An NFL first...I think
Why is their always drama in Dallas when it comes to the Cowboys. If it isn't Romo with Jessica and the problems with T.O. in the past. Now the drama isn't even with a person, its about a big video screen. Jerry Jones paid for a new 1 billion dollar stadium for the Cowboys. Just one problem the video screen/scoreboard the hangs in the center above is a bit low. The league standard is 85 feet above the field. The video screen/scoreboard hangs 90 feet above. So for the first time in NFL history as far as I know the league had to make a ruling about how to handle kicks and punts that are interfered with by the scoreboard being to low. Here is what they have come to.
The NFL will allow the video scoreboard to remain but the down will be replayed if ball hits scoreboard. Coaches can't challenge it but the refs can if they think it's close. I have never heard of anything like this but if anyone else has let me know. I am curious to know what it is. Isn't it like Jerry Jones and the Cowboys to stir up some controversy and make things difficult. I will make this guarantee. They will be asked to raise the video screen at the end of the season because people will be so fed up with having to replay every punt or kickoff. I feel bad for any punter or kicker who has toe enter that stadium this year. It's ridiculous. I hope this comes back to haunt them. It should be an interesting season for the Cowboys without T.O. and the new video scoreboard. I cannot wait to see what happens

Rey Mysterio Suspended for 30 Days
Earlier this week I was shocked to learn that the masked marvel Rey Mysterio was suspended for 30 days for violating the WWE's drug and wellness policy. Actually it doesn't surprise me because his name has been mentioned a lot since Chris Benoit died. He has been named in numerous reports about wrestlers who take steroids, or other drugs. This is not good for him considering he is the Hulk Hogan of luchadors in Mexico. He has such a huge fan base in the WWE and across parts of the world. So what does this mean for the Intercontinental Championship?
Well it means he will probably lose the title this Tuesday at the Smackdown tapings. He will probably lose it to Dolph Ziggler who he was scheduled to wrestle at the next WWE Pay-per-view Breaking Point. There are a lot of guys who are deserving of that title right now. The ones I think of are Matt Hardy, John Morrison, Tyson Kidd, David Hart Smith, Finlay and even Kane. The one thing I am glad about is that due to this suspension some of the younger guys will get pushed a little bit harder then they are now. I am also glad that WWE does not play favorites with their superstars regarding their policies. Mysterio is a huge name and he is paying the price for his mistakes. You can bet that he will not get a title again for a long time and will be losing a lot when he comes back.
With all that being said I wonder who Dolph Zigglers opponent will be at Breaking Point? I hope it's Morrison or Hardy. We will find out on September 13th.

Jeff Hardy leaves the WWE
Last night on Smackdown Jeff Hardy said his farewell to the WWE as he lost the loser leaves town World Heavyweight Title match in a steel cage match against CM Punk. I was really happy to see Jeff have a proper send off. Over the last week he has had two incredible matches with a guy that he made a credible main eventer and made him a credible heel. So yes I am agree with what Matt Hardy said. He stated Jeff made CM Punk a credible main eventer and heel. Matt also called out some of the internet wrestling community who criticized Jeff Hardy by saying that they should respect Jeff Hardy because of what he has done for their friend. I agree with that totally. It wouldn't surprise me if these certain internet wrestling fans are from Chicago or even wrestlers from Chicago. Chicago wrestlers are known to be assholes and know it all's. At least thats what I have heard from people.Anyways enough but the war of words. Jeff's three run in the WWE was awesome. As I mentioned before he did a lot of great things in his second run with the WWE. He had some great matches with Umaga, Mr. Kennedy, Triple H, Edge and his brother Matt. Do I think Jeff will be back? Most certainly yes. His career is not over by a long shot. Jeff Hardy will be in the WWE Hall of Fame someday and will always be remembered for his rock star like entrance and his craziness in the ring.
All I got to say is Jeff, I look forward to seeing you on TV again.

NFL games I can't wait to watch this year
With the regular season just around the corner there some games with some significance that I look forward to watching. A lot of potentially good games this year. So hear are the ones I am looking forward to the most.
Week 1
Titans vs. Steelers on Thursday Night
Week 3
Panthers vs. Cowboys on Monday Night
Week 4
Vikings vs. Packers on Monday Night
Week 8
Panthers vs. Cardinals on Sunday
Week 13
Eagles vs. Falcons on Sunday
Vikings vs. Cardinals on Sunday
Right now these are the only games that seem appealing to me. Obviously every Carolina Panther game is interesting to me but these games stand out to me for a number of reasons. Notice no Detroit Lions games. I wouldn't be surprised if they go 0-16 once again. They have a pretty tough schedule. They must be trying to make history the only way the can. I love football season. September 10th is opening kickoff and I cannot wait.

WWE Summerslam Recap
I've said it on this blog many of times that nothing in wrestling really excites me anymore but last night may have been the exception to what I've been saying. Summerslam 2009 was an exceptionally solid PPV which kept you going from the opening bell until the return of the Undertaker at the end. The first match of the evening was for the Intercontinental Championship between Rey Mysterio and Dolph Ziggler. It was a fast pace back and forth match that saw Rey keep his title. I do tip my hat to Dolph though because he had one hell of a match. He'll eventually get the title. Up next was MVP vs. Jack Swagger which was a solid match between two of biggest up and coming stars on Monday Night. Both showed off their skills but in the end MVP won the match. It was a good match between two totally different cultures and styles.
It was then time...time for Cryme Tyme to take on the Unified Tag Team Champions in Big Show and Chris Jericho. Cryme Tyme really proved that they could hang with the best in the business. I thought the match was excellent but in the end Show and Jericho retained their titles.
Next up was Kane taking on the Great Khali. Personally I hate matches like these but it was better then the usual. Kane got the victory and makes me wonder if the feud is over. For our sake I hope it is.
I don't about you but I was ready. I was ready but I wasn't prepared for one of the most spectacular returns in pro wrestling history. You had to watch it to appreciate. The return of DX was simply electrifying in ways I didn't think were possible. The match itself was totally what I expected and more. I said a week or so ago that people would remember the night Rhodes/Dibiase fought DX because they would have the match of their lives. They hung in there with two legends in Shawn Michaels and Triple H. The match was great and DX got the victory.
Up next was the shortest title match in history between Christian and William Regal. I think it last six seconds. What a slap in the face to two great wrestlers. It seems like ECW is the joke of all the PPV's or they are not getting the credit they deserve. I can tell you this, since ECW has been officially apart of the WWE I have only enjoyed two of their championship matches. There was the night CM Punk defeated John Morrison in 2007 on TV. The other match was recently between Christian against Tommy Dreamer in an Extreme Rules match. That was also on TV. The only thing I liked about this match is Regals new alliance with Ezekiel Jackson and Vladimir Kozloff. It's kind of interesting actually. Anyways nothing exciting about this match
I've seen a lot of great WWE Title matches but I've never seen anything more crazy then I did last night. Orton got himself got DQ'd then the match got restarted. Orton then got himself counted out then again the match got restarted. Orton got the pin with his feet on the ropes. Another referee came out and for the third time the match got restarted. Cena looked like he had the victory then a fan came in and messed things up. Orton eventually gave Cena the RKO and kept his title.
A lot of people knew the outcome of this next with Jeff Hardy and CM Punk. It was Tables, Ladders and Chairs and it was one of the most brutal and exciting matches I've ever seen. Both men abused their bodies in ways you shouldn't. In the end, CM Punk ousted Jeff Hardy to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. As Punk was celebrating the lights went out and when they came back on the Undertaker was lying in the ring in Jeff Hardy's spot. The Undertaker choke slammed the new champ and left him lying as Summerslam ended.
I am not saying it was the greatest PPV of all time but it was very solid. DX's entrance stole the show, Ziggler/Mysterio was great and so was the TLC match. I would definitely rate it 7.5/10. A lot of people were buzzing after the PPV and said it was the best PPV they have seen out of WWE in a long time. I would have to agree. I am looking forward to the fallout from all three brands this week on TV. It should be interesting. If you didn't watch it you missed out but you can always but it on DVD. Well those are my thoughts. Hope you all enjoyed a good PPV.

WWE Summerslam Predictions
Tomorrow night is the night...The Biggest party of the Summer. It's Summerslam and I for one cannot wait. It looks to be a great card. Here is the final card along with my predictions
WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena
I think this could be there best match to date. I have a great feeling about this match but in the end Randy Orton will remain WWE Champion and remain the top heel in the company
World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk in a TLC Match
Based on everything I've seen, read and heard I think the WWE Universe will be shocked and Jeff Hardy will retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
Cryme Tyme vs. Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show
Cryme Tyme is a legit tag team who has not held gold yet in the WWE but Jericho and Big Show make for a dominating tag team so in the end Jericho and Show keep the titles.
Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio vs. Dolph Ziggler
Rey Mysterio is nearing the end of his prime. Dolph Ziggler's time is now. He reminds me so much of Curt Henning in terms of his looks and charisma. I think Dolph Ziggler aka Nicky from the Spirit Squad walks out the new Intercontinental Champion
D-Generation X vs. The Legacy
Finally Shawn Michaels returns. I am going to stand behind my statement and say once again that this match will put Rhodes/Dibiase one step closer to being big. They made themselves look great with their attack on DX this past Monday. I cannot wait to see a DX return, victory and celebration.
The Great Khali vs. Kane
Usually the heel in this feud wins so I am going with Kane
ECW Champion Christian vs. William Regal
This match could steal the show because of the two unique styles they both bring. I really enjoy Christians work and believe he will continue to be the face of ECW for a little while longer.
Jack Swagger vs. MVP
I like this feud between Swagger and MVP. Both are great athletes and bring a different vibe to Monday Night Raw. I would like to see Swagger win because he is a great amateur wrestler but I think MVP will be victorious.
I think their will be some interesting surprises tomorrow night. Look at all the guys not on the show. Matt Hardy, Kofi Kingston, Hart Dynasty, John Morrison, Mark Henry, The Miz, and Finlay. Who knows, maybe the Undertaker will return tomorrow night. It will be a great night of action. I will be sitting at Buffalo Wild Wings in Grand Rapids, Michigan on 28th st watching all of it unfold. I will be back on tomorrow night with a recap of what happened.

Hardy Boys reunite for the last time?
Last night on a really great episode of Smackdown Matt and Jeff Hardy teamed up with John Morrison against CM Punk and the Hart Dynasty. The question is, is this the last time that we see the Hardy Boys together as a tag team. It has been widely reported that Jeff Hardy's contract expires after Summerslam and that he will be leaving the company. If this happens to be true Jeff had a great 3 year run even though he was suspended for 90 days back in 2008. In his three year second run with the WWE he has accomplished a lot. He held the Intercontinental Title three times, the WWE Title one time, the World Heavyweight Title one time and even one the Tag Team titles with Matt one time. He had some great matches with Edge, Triple H, Umaga and Mr. Kennedy. I can tell you without any doubt my favorite Jeff Hardy moment is Armageddon 2008 when he won the WWE title in a triple threat match against Edge and Triple H.
However I do have to mention that late last night Matt Hardy posted this on his twitter account.
"Here's an update for the "sheets"-Jeff & I might not team again due to pursuing singles careers. And Jeff will be with WWE after Summerslam".So this might be a case of WWE falsely leaking things to get the fans talking. They have done this before. A lot of people are expecting CM Punk to win the World Heavyweight Championship but then again why would they put it on Hardy for only a month just lose it again. Something tells me that the viewers watching Summerslam are in for a few surprises. Only time will tell...

It's always better live
Last night was the first time in nine years I have gone to a Detroit Tigers game. I know it's kind of crazy I don't go more often. It was the third time I've been to a Tigers game and it's the third time they have lost. Ichiro had a home run, Carlos Guillen had a home run and Justin Verlander had 10 strikeouts. I love the atmosphere of Comerica Park. There was one point where the Wave went around like 4 or 5 times. It's one of the most beautiful parks I've ever seen and been too. The Television doesn't do it justice.
I've always said that about sporting events. It's way better watching it in person then it is on TV. At least thats how it's always been for me. We had really good seats. We sat on the third baseline by the foul pole. I got to watch Verlander warm up in the bullpen and saw a few other guys warm up as well. It was a really fun experience going to the Tigers game last night. It was also kind of cool seeing Ford Field which is a place I will probably never go to unless the Carolina Panthers come to town.
Well that's all from me about my night in Detroit. I hope to go back to more games in the near future. Go Tigers!!!

Brett Favre: You've got to be kidding me
Wasn't it just three weeks ago that this idiot said he was retired and there wasn't a chance that he was going to play this season. Well know he's done it again. He's come out of retirement for the 100th time. What makes it worst is he is playing for the Minnesota Vikings, a division rival of the Packers. All I can say is that you have lost your mind, your integrity and your respect for the fans in Green Bay that supported you and cheered you. I thought Michael Jordan coming out of retirement to play for the Wizards is bad but this is absolutely ridiculous.
Brett Favre has nothing left to prove. Look at all he had done.
-10 time Pro Bowl selection (1992, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2008)
-3 time First-team All-Pro selection (1995, 1996, 1997)
-3 time Second-team All-Pro selection (2001, 2002, 2007)
-3 time AP NFL MVP (1995–1997)
-5 time NFC Player of the Year (1995, 1996, 1997, 2002, 2007)
-Super Bowl champion (XXXI)
So why are doing this again? Are you bored? Are you middle aged and crazy? Or are suffering from a midlife crisis?
All I can say is that when walk back into Green Bay on the opposing side, I hope you get embarrassed. One of the Packers defensive players was asked if he'd like to hit him and he said hell yes, put it on the bulletin board. All I have to say is October 5th and November 1st are must see TV for football. The Packers vs. Vikings, and one of the games is a Monday Night game. I am not going to say anymore before I go off and say stuff I really don't want to say. Here is a video of what the Packers players are thinking about all of this

Thoughts on Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett
Okay so last night I was very shocked that Kurt Angle was allowed to keep the TNA Heavyweight Title after being arrested. He was arrested for multiple things which include:
* Driving while operating privileges suspended
* Prohibited acts
* Possession
* Harassment
Kurt Angle may see his career come to an end because of his own stupidity and horrible choices. I respect Kurt Angle as a wrestler and what he has done in the business but this is ridiculous. If this isn't bad enough, his ex-wife Karen Angle is now living with the TNA Founder Jeff Jarrett. Now as far as this situation goes I don't agree with.
Jeff Jarrett is another guy I respect because of what he's done for pro wrestling but letting your top stars ex-wife live with you is not a very smart move. Double J has not been on TV since the report got out about the whole situation. There is a very bad struggle in TNA right now for power. I would really hate to be Dixie Carter at this point in time. This is not the first time a situation like this has happen in wrestling. Lets see here are a few examples
-Nancy Benoit left Kevin Sullivan for Chris Benoit. Enough said there
-Miss Elizabeth left Randy Savage and eventually was with Lex Luger when she died.
-Who can forget when Lita left Matt Hardy for Edge and turned into a full fledged storyline on TV.
The only situation that turned out good was for Hardy and Edge because both of their careers got big after their feud ended. Obviously the bad part was that Lita quit the business because of all the harassment she got from fans and others.
In defense of Karen Angle I will say this. She didn't move in with Jeff until the divorce was finalized. It's not like they were having an affair. Karen was divorced an Jeff was a widower. I am not saying it was smart or right but you have to look at it from their points of view. No one knows what they are thinking. I think Jeff has hurt himself by not coming out and speaking on the matter.
There so many questions surrounding TNA about who is in control and who has the power. Kurt really hurt his chances of gaining power with being arrested. Jeff might be able to get his power back. Only time will tell to see what happens. I'll be curious to see what happens at the Impact tapings this week. Stay tuned for more.
* Driving while operating privileges suspended
* Prohibited acts
* Possession
* Harassment

CWM August Afteshock Results
CWM August Aftershock
August 16th, 2009
Latvian Hall in Grand Rapids, MI
Reported by "Hollywood" Joe Williamson
The show started with Jack Verville taking on the bigger Sebastian Rose. Rose dominated the match with his power and his shear size advantage but in the end Verville pulled out the victory by getting Rose in a small package. After the match was over Rose took the referees belt off and started whipping Verville.
Deuce Diamond returned to the CWM be defeating Jemini Taylor who made his CWM singles debut.
Up next was Kris Korvis who took on the Martial Arts expert Louis Linden. This match was back and forth and potentially could be match of the year candidate in CWM for 2009. Korvis defeated Louis Linden but the victory came with controversy. Korvis had his feet on the ropes getting the victory in his CWM Debut
Noah Lott came out to the ring and told the fans how he didn't choose Scott EZ as his partner. He went on to say that he does not like EZ, does not consider him a friend or partner. Noah Lott said he was just in it for the belt and being a champion. Before Scott EZ came out it almost seemed like it would be a 3 on 1 handicap match between the Canadian Hit Squad and Noah Lott against EZ. However Noah Lott started the match and was isolated by the Hit Squad for most of the match. Eventually when Noah Lott tagged in his partner, Scott EZ cleaned house and made John Campbell pass out with a modified Cobra Clutch. As the fans cheered Scott EZ, Noah Lott was not impressed or amused.
The Television title match was next with champion T-D defending against Jeff Brooks. This was another highly competitive match which saw the 10 minute time limit expire. T-D wasn't satisfied with his victory so he has asked for five more minutes. Commissioner Paco Zimmer came out and said go for it. It took T-D a mere 10 seconds after the bell rang to defeat Jeff Brooks.
Next up was the main event of the evening. King LeoTitus (formerly known as "Too Tough" Tommy Titus) came out and compared himself to the great Spartan Warriors from long ago and said that no one can stop him. Paco Zimmer then came out and told LeoTitus that he was sick of the lying, cheating, swerving and stealing. The commissioner went on to say he had an opponent for the King who just as ruthless as he was. He then brought out Alcatraz and removed his chains. The monster was unleashed and it was an all out brawl for a good portion of the match. Alcatraz took a lot of damage to his leg but kept coming back. Sensing all of this LeoTitus shoved the referee down but so did Alcatraz after the ref didn't count 3. The match ended in double disqualification and LeoTitus escaped with the CWM Heavyweight Title. Alcatraz said he was not finished with LeoTitus and asked the crowd if they wanted more. Commissioner Zimmer they would get more on September 13th and the CWM Heavyweight Title would be defended in a No-Disqualification match.
The next show is scheduled for September 13th and one has to wonder the following:
-Who is next in line for T-D's TV Title?
-Can Noah Lott and Scott EZ continue to coexist as Tag Team champions?
-What's next for Sebastian Rose, Jack Verville, Kris Korvis and Louis Linden?
-Who is next in line for the CWM Tag Team Titles?
-Will LeoTitus be able to escape the wrath of Alcatraz?

Michael Vick Signs with the Eagles
The city of Brotherly Love might have to show some love this coming NFL Season. The Philadelphia Eagles have signed Michael Vick to a year two year deal. Michael Vick has had some great people by him these last few months. Tony Dungy has been advising Vick him and that cannot be a bad thing. Dungy is one of the most respected people in football and has a lot of class. I don't think Dungy would be representing Vick if Vick wasn't remorseful for what he did.
I've also heard that Donovan McNabb lobbied to get Michael Vick with Eagles citing that he was not worried about his starting spot. He said the Eagles will use Vick as another offensive weapon. I don't know how the fans, the other teams and more importantly the league will react to watching him play again. I think the match everyone is looking forward to is week 12 when the Eagles play the Falcons in Atlanta. It should be interesting.

Most Bizarre Fight Ever
Okay So I was watching UFC Unleashed last night and they always show replays of old fights. I was watching Tim Sylvia just beat the crap out of this one guy. His name is Wesley "Cabbage" Correira. It was at UFC 39. Cabbage took Sylvia best shots for one round and then part of the second round. Like seriously this guy was just standing there taking every shot Sylvia gave him. He barely fought back. Eventually in the second round of action his corner threw in the towel giving Sylvia his first UFC win.
If you can find this fight somewhere I would suggest you watch it. You wouldn't believe the amount of blows this guy takes. The sick thing is he never got knocked down. He just kept going. His corner did the merciful thing and threw in the towel. It was crazy. I am honestly surprised it was not on the UFC Ultimate 100, the 100 greatest fights in UFC History. Like I said watch it and you'll be shocked.

Shawn Michaels: The Showstopper, the Main Event, the Icon is back
This past Monday four months of non-interest in wrestling finally came to an end. Shawn Michaels who has not been on TV since Wrestlemania 25 had a unique but funny way of returning. Triple H found Shawn working as a chef at some restaurant at San Antonio. So you can only imagine how that turned out. The return of Shawn Michaels is going to be awesome. It's ironic he's making his return at Summerslam because that's where he returned seven years ago to resurrect his career after being gone for four years. In my humble opinion he has been better the last seven years then he was his first time around. Shawn Michaels has done it all in this business. He is a 2 AWA World Tag Team Champion
3 time WWE Champion
WWE European Champion
4 time WWE World Tag Team Champion
World Heavyweight Championship
Royal Rumble Winner in 1995 and 1996
PWI Match of the Year (1993) vs. Marty Jannetty on Monday Night Raw on May 17
PWI Match of the Year (1994) vs. Razor Ramon in a Ladder match at WrestleMania X
PWI Match of the Year (1995) vs. Diesel at WrestleMania XI
PWI Match of the Year (1996) vs. Bret Hart in an Iron Man match at WrestleMania XII
PWI Match of the Year (2004) vs. Chris Benoit and Triple H at WrestleMania XX
PWI Match of the Year (2005) vs. Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 21
PWI Match of the Year (2006) vs. Vince McMahon in a No Holds Barred match at WrestleMania 22
PWI Match of the Year (2007) vs. John Cena on Raw on April 23
PWI Match of the Year (2008) vs. Ric Flair at WrestleMania XXIV
The list could go on and on of what Shawn Michaels has accomplished. There is no doubt in my mind that his match with The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 25 will be match of the year for 2009. The one thing I like about Shawn is he always makes everyone look better even a guy like Hogan. I never saw a better Hogan match then the one he had with Shawn at Summerslam in 2005. I just don't respect what Shawn does in the ring. I also respect him outside of the ring as well. He is a born-again Christian who brings his faith with him wherever he goes. At Summerslam he and Triple reunite to face Legacy the team of Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase. In my opinion this match will put Ted Dibiase and Cody Rhodes on the map. Ten years from now wrestling fans people aren't going to remember how they won the Tag Titles, or the fact they were associated with Randy Orton. People will remember the night that DX fought Legacy for the first time because matches that Shawn Michaels is involved with. Just look at all of the matches of his that have been named Match of the Year. Shawn Michaels has been in the ring with the best and has made even the best look better. Even Ric Flair has said it, the best matches he ever saw were the ones with Shawn vs. Triple H. There is a reason Shawn has been in the first Hell in the Cell, Elimination Chamber and the first Ladder match at Wrestlemania. It's because he sets the standard and he is the standard of what wrestling should be all about. I personally cannot wait to see him wrestle again. He's had more memorable matches then anyone I can remember. So at Summerslam the man known as the Heartbreak Kid returns and if you're not down with that I got two words for you...Watch it!

Silva and Penn rise to the occasion at UFC 101
Last night at UFC 101 the two upsets that everyone thought would happen didn't. Anderson Silva completely embarrassed Forrest Griffin. I am very disappointed in Forrest Griffins performance during this fight. He should have went in guns blazing but he left himself wide open for Silva to strike.
Then in the Main Event BJ Penn owned Kenny Florian. Penn had an answer for all of Florian's moves. Unfortunately Florian got choked out ending his 6 match win streak. Speaking of win streaks. Anderson Silva is up to 10 wins in a row in the UFC, a streak that might never be broken. It's ironic the title of this PPV was called Declaration because Penn and Silva made their declarations letting everyone know that they are the best in their division.
I will be very curious to see how Forrest and Kenny rebound from their losses. I know we haven't seen the last of either him. I think Forrest needs to fight Tito Ortiz again, or even his mentor Chuck Liddell. Both of those matches would be great. Kenny just needs to go back and refocus himself and not get so cocky because he did talk a lot of trash before the fight. The one thing I will say is that Diego Sanchez deserves to be in contention for the Lightweight title. I think Penn vs. Sanchez would be a great fight. Well UFC 102 is three weeks away and it's the battle of the dinosaurs. I'll leave it at that.

Biggest Brawl in Wrestling History Takes Place
Just when wrestling is no longer interesting to me TNA does something worth watching. I was flipping through channels last night and I see a brawl beginning between the Main Event Mafia/World Elite against the rest of the TNA locker room. The brawl last 15 minutes and the police eventually came and broke it up. You don't see too much of this type of stuff anymore in wrestling. It's the first real brawl I remember since 2001 when WWE had the Invasion storyline going on with ECW/WCW and since the WCW/NWO days. I will this about TNA Wrestling, they are creating new stars and pushing younger talent. WWE is having a hard time right now getting younger guys to the status they should be at. Here is the video of the brawl that took place last night on TNA Wrestling.

Message to Michael Crabtree: Don't be stupid
Michael Crabtree might just ruin his reputation by making a stupid decision. He is considering sitting out the 2009 season and re-entering the draft in 2010 all because he's not getting the money he wants. His complaint is that lower draft picks are getting offered more money then he is. You know what I say...So what? Just be thankful you got drafted. The NFL needs to implement a couple of rules so here is my concept.
1. A rookie should not be allowed to make more then say like 5 million his first year. A rookie should only be given a one year contract then be able to renegotiate the contract after the first year. Sometimes college players are busts and then then teams are forced to pay all that money.
2. A rookie should not be able to dictate where he is drafted aka Eli Manning. If he refuses to play for the team that drafts him then he should not be allowed to play in the league for a year.
Athletes are so spoiled and they are a bunch of crybabies and Crabtree might just be one of the worst ones right now. Playing professional sports is not a right, it is a privilege just ask Vick, Burress, and Stallworth. Michael Crabtree should be grateful that he is playing for a storied franchise like the 49ers. They are in a rebuilding phase and he has the chance to be apart of something really awesome. I believe if Crabtree sits out this season and tries to re-enter the draft in 2010 his stock will go down because he will not be playing anywhere. His reputation will be horrible because people think he is greedy and selfish and all about himself. Not a good thing. This guy sounds like he could be worst then T.O., Moss, or Chad Johnson...My bad his name is Ochocinco. They are all great athletes but in terms of personality they are pathetic.
Lastly, if I was the 49ers I wouldn't give him the money he wants now because he has missed a lot of training camp. If I were any other NFL team I would make him beg to want to be in the NFL. See Tebow and Bradford did the smart thing. They kept their mouth shut, went back to college and avoided being drafted by the Detroit Lions. Maybe Crabtree should have thought about his decision to go pro a little bit more. Michael Crabtree you have already lost my respect and you haven't even played a game yet. Their are people starving, losing their jobs and don't have a pot to piss in and you're worried about how much more money you're going to make then people the got drafted below you. It's absolutely pathetic...Enough said.

Vince Young puts his foot in his mouth
As an athlete there is nothing wrong with have a little bit of confidence. In fact if you didn't have confidence at all then you probably shouldn't be playing at all. However there is a difference between having confidence and saying something really stupid. In this case Vince Young said something really stupid. He told Esquire Magazine that he would be the next black Quarterback to win the Super Bowl and that he would be in the Hall of Fame someday. Here are some problems with that.
1. You haven't played at all since the first game of last season
2. You have more interceptions then you do touchdown passes.
3. Your QB rating is not even 70.
4. Kerry Collins took over and played better then you ever thought about playing
5. You have had more injuries then you have had playing time.
So what does this all mean? Vince Young has about as much chance as making the Hall of Fame as Michael Vick. Obviously for different reasons but you get what I am saying. How could someone make such a stupid comment. If he does comeback people are going to be gunning for him and shut him up for his stupid comments. What I find funny about all of this is he is not even the starting Quarterback. As of right now, Kerry Collins is still the starting Quarterback and probably will remain there until he retires or gets hurt. All I can say after all this is good Vince, you're going to need it.

Prince Fielder Goes Nuts
Last night I think I saw a first in baseball. A player trying to break into the opposing teams locker room to confront a pitcher who beaned him. The Dodgers were beating the Brewers 17-4 when Prince Fielder got hit by a pitch. The sad thing about this is it was the ninth inning with two outs and it was payback for the accidental beaning of Manny Ramirez in the seventh inning. Now I don't agree with this whole if you hit our guy were going to hit yours. That's when the fights break out and stuff like this happens. I honestly don't blame Prince for being pissed off. It was ninth inning with two outs. The game should have been over. I would suspend Moto for 10 games and Fielder for 3. I think Fielders reaction was totally understandable but if anything I would have punched him out on the field where that stuff usually takes place. The Brewers and Dodgers play each other again tonight and it's the last time they play each other this season so it should be interesting. Here is the video of what happened last night after the game concluded. Enjoy
